Unable to connect on a public wifi...[iPhone 4S]

Hello,
I got a little problem with my iPhone 4S 16go.
When i'm on 3G, I'm unable to connect on a public wifi that uses a pop-up to go trough an internet page to connect.
Normally, a pop-up opens automaticly with the commercial page where I need to click to connect. In fact, this pop-up is appearing but it stays white ... The only way it worked for connecting to wifi  is when I turn off the 3G but there is surely a solution !
I count on you !

At a shopping center , but that's a commercial wifi that disconnect everytime when I put my cellphone on stanby mode. The connect, we need to go trough a site where we need to click to connect..

  • I got a new iPhone 5s and I am unable to connect to my home wifi (through Comcast/Xfinity).  I was able to with my 4s but not with my new 5s.

I got a new iPhone 5s and I am unable to connect to my home wifi (through Comcast/Xfinity) network.  I was able to with my 4s with no problems but with my new 5s, I just get that a message that says "Unable to connect to network [network name]"  Thoughts on how to connect to the wifi network?  My laptop is connected and using the wifi just fine.

    I see the following instruction:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
However when I get there I am offered a screen which states "Enter Passcode", and have no clue as to what this should be given I never had to set this in the first place.
It expects 4 digit code, so any ideas?

  • I am unable to connect to my home wifi, i was fine in a hotel this past week with the wifi

Question I am unable to connect to my home wifi, I was fine in a hotel this past week with their wifi, I am not that technical and need help also how do I find my operating system info??

Go to settings, general, about, and you will see "version." That will indicate what your operating system is such as 5.0.1 which is the most recent upgrade.
As for the wifi, you might try going to settings, then general, then at the bottom reset, then click on reset network settings. Back out of everything and then when you log back onto your wifi it will ask you for your local password (assuming you gave it one when your router was set up). Enter it and you should be good for go.  At least this worked for me.
    Good luck.

  • Unable to connect to a particular WIFI network

I am unable to connect to a particular wifi connect via my laptop which has windows 7 installed. The WIFI is password protected and I know the password, I am able to connect to that network using my mobile phone and other friends laptop.
I have also checked the router configuration to check my Wireless MAC is not blacklisted. The same laptop is able to connect to other WIFI networks without any problem. The problem is not with wifi drivers because I am able to connect to WIFI networks...
Is there any other configuration in the router that is preventing my laptop WIFI from getting connected ?

    Hi,
Did you get any error message when you can’t connect to the Wifi? Can you find any related information in the Event View?
You can make the computer  connect to others Wifi and check if it works.
    Regards.

  • Back from travelling (???) I am unable to connect to my home WiFi : impossible to turn the WiFi on. Anyone any clue ???

    Hi,
Back from holiday (Thailand) where I connected both my Iphone4 And my MacBook Pro, I am unable to connect to my home WiFi. The icon "turn WiFi on" seems not to respond.
    Has anyone a clue ???
    Thanks

I cannot see how your travel can prevent you turning on wireless.
Did you do a full power cycle of both computer and phone?
Sorry but for phones I have no clue.. but I did find it failed to connect at times and you need to clear out all the old names.. full power off and on again and things suddenly start working.
Laptop can be same.. but apple has specific hardware testing available.
Look at doing tests.. or take them to an apple store and get both tested.
Is there other device still working fine on the home wifi.. have you power cycled that as well.

  • When connecting to the public wifi cannot receive mails, either use internet

when connecting to the public wifi cannot receive mails, either use internet

I believe I may have solved this
When you can't log into public WiFi ...
    with an iDevice…
because the Server times out ...
or the login/registration page just won't load ...
      ********Simply do this***********
Go into settings> WiFi and tap the little info icon for the network you are trying to join
If you see two slider buttons, these are the cause of your woes
One says "Auto Join" (or similar) - you can leave this ON
The second button is "Auto Login" - you must turn this OFF (slide it left so it is grey not green)
Now go back and reselect the network.
If the login page doesn't come up automatically, open a Safari window and enter any address
    Bingo!
I have reproduced this issue and solution in 100% of the public WiFi spots which I could previously not access. Please not that I also have "Block Pop-Ups" turned OFF in Settings> Safari, though I do not know if this is a necessary step.
I have filed a bug report with Apple. Feel free to contact them yourselves if this workaround works for you.
    Peace y'all

  • My iPhone 5 is suddenly unable to connect to my home wifi

    Hi,
Please can you help. My iPhone 5 has suddenly stopped being able to connect to my home wifi, unless I am standing right next to the rooter. If I take it into another room my iPhone 5 won't connect, it is able to see the network, but says unable to connect. My iPhone 4 and ipad is able to connect in all other rooms in the house still , where my 5 used to be able to connect. How can I fix this, it is clearly the phone an not the wifi.
    I have already-
    Restarted the phone,
    Reset the phone
    Reset the phone network settings
    Reset the rooter
    Thanks

This is the exact same issue i am having. I just posted a question a minute ago. I wonder what is happening??

  • Should iphone 5 drop connection alot on public wifi

Is it my iphone or just the fact that public wifi networks tend to have alot of users on at the same time, if it drops wifi connection on them alot?

The wi-fi connection is dropped while actively using your iPhone, or it is dropped when your iPhone is locked or asleep?
The latter is normal, the former is not.

  • IPhone stayed connected to temporary public wifi? why?

    Hey there,
So at my work there's a public wifi system that you can have hour long sessions on. All you have to do is check that you agree to the terms and conditions and your device is connected. Now, I usually check my stuff briefly in the morning and then throw my phone in my locker before I go to work and then check it again on my break. When I checked in on my break, the wifi was still connecting, I even disconnected then re-connected to the wifi and my device had perfectly working wifi without having to check anything even though it had been an hour. I found this a little odd and concerning, wondering if anyone had gotten onto my phone somehow. I have a passcode and nothing appeared to be touched or changed on the phone. My question is, does this look like someone has gotten into my phone or just a problem with the public wifi? (After a few minutes of playing around with it, the internet eventually disconnected and I had to reconnect). On a public wifi as such, can anyone hack into your device and get info? I never entered any info this morning like passwords or anything, all I did was check my notifications on twitter and tumblr whose apps were already logged in

Sorry I might add it had been well over an hour. 4+ hours since I'd last connected.

  • Unable to connect iPad Mini to Wifi as of this morning

My ipad mini stopped connecting to Wi-fi just this morning. My regular iPad 3 and iPhone 5 and other devices are all able to connect. I downloaded the latest software update (6.0.2) and I am still unable to connect the ipad mini to wifi. It has been reset, restored, etc etc etc and still is not working. I've tried everything I could think of and find for the past few hours. The 6.0.2 update was supposed to fix it as per the description, but it did not. Note that everything was working fine until this morning and nothing changed - no app downloads, nothing with the wifi, etc.
My iPad Mini still will not connect to Wi-fi. Any suggestions?

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Unable to connect to iCloud server from iPhone

My contacts list has disappeared. I have tried logging into iCloud via my iPhone. When I attempt login it states unable to connect to server. Does anyone know how to fix

Are you trying to sign into iCloud in Settings>iCloud when you get this error?  If so, you might try turning off wifi to see if you can connect over the cellular data network.

  • Unable to connect to mail server on iphone

I have been getting an" unable to connect to yahoo mail server" on my iphone since yesterday. I have re-started the phone, deleted my mail account and re-added and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

Ask your email provider for the correct settings to use to set it up on your phone.

  • "unable to connect to server" on my iPhone?

I'm having trouble getting my iPhone to connect to the iCloud server to receive mail etc.  I've tried several times and I keep getting a message that says "unable to connect to server". Any ideas how I might fix this?  Thx...

    Hello, bills47.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would first start with forcing the Mail App to close then attempt to access your account again.
iOS: Force an app to close

If the issue persists, the easiest way to troubleshoot this issue would be to delete the account and add it back to the iOS device.  Below, I have included two e-mail troubleshooting articles.  The first article covers basic email troubleshooting.  The second article will assist you if the email account you are experiencing issues with is a Gmail account.

  • TS1398 I just restored my ipod because the 'other' section was taking up about half of the space on my ipod and now I am unable to connect to the my wifi and I was able to before restoring the ipod.

My wifi isnt letting me connect to it and i have no idea why. It was working just fine before i restored my ipod

    If not this:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Then
Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
