Unable to connect to Cisco VPN using secondary ISP Line

Hi,
We are using Cisco VPN Client 5.0.07.0290 to connect to our servers. We have Sonicwall NSA2400 FW and we have 2 ISPs. We have configured the Load balancing on Firewall in 'Spill-Over' mode.
So whenever the 1st ISP Line is on full load it will automatically moves the users on 2nd line.
The problem we are facing here is users who are getting IP from 1st ISP Line they are smoothly able to connect to Cisco VPN client but the users who are getting IP from 2nd ISP Line they are not able to connect to Cisco VPN Client. This is really annoying as everyone should be able to connect.
It will be really great if someone can help me in same.
Thanks
PS: If we swap the line from Sonicwall the Vice-versa scenario haapens as mentioned above.

Hello sagar,
Correct me if i dint get you,
Being in your network i.e inside the firewall you are trying to connect to Cisco VPn client resides outside your network/Public network.
If above is the issue.
Kindly check the routes and the priority of the routes in sonicwall.
example:
ISP1: set  the metric as 1 for the traffic destined to cisco VPn gateway IP and specify to exit the traffic from ISP1 interface
ISP2: set  the metric 1 again for the traffic destined to cisco VPn gateway IP and specify to exit the traffic from ISP2 interface
source       destination   metric 1   interface
Kindly, Please rate the helpful posts and .
Thanks,
srikanth

  • Warning System spameater Unable to connect to Cisco Web Security Service.; URL Filter...

My C670 ESA's have been throwing these alerts intermittently for the past few days, anyone else seeing them?
    The Warning message is:
Unable to connect to Cisco Web Security Service.
URL Filtering will not work correctly.
Please verify all network, proxy and firewall settings.
    Connection to "v2.sds.cisco.com" failed.
The last error seen on this connection: "Request failed with code: 28 (Connection time-out)"
    Version: 8.5.6-092
Looks like it is open on port 443 and currently up.  Hitting it with a browser gives me:
    https://v2.sds.cisco.com/
After an error or two they go away and appear OK.
Checking the logs I don't see a way to verify URL lookups are working, is there a way?
Also, I setup URL filtering six months ago and had it set to only trigger on (-10)-(-9.5) and saw about an 80% false positive.  It has improved over the past six months drastically but still catching mostly advertising URLs and allowing all phishing URLs right through.  I've yet to see it block a phishing URL.

After lots of trial and error, I was able to eliminate this problem.  What I wound up doing is defining the XE service again in the listener.ora file:
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
      (SID_LIST =
        (SID_DESC =
          (SID_NAME = XE)
          (ORACLE_HOME = C:\ProgramData\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server)
I know that typically you should not have to do this, especially since I already had defined DEFAULT_SERIVCE_LISTENER = (XE) at the bottom of the listener.ora file.  Explicitly defining the XE service in the listener.ora file allows the listener to find it while the system is running under the Cisco AnyConnect VPN.  The only hiccup I found by doing this is that the XE service is discovered twice by the listener when the system is NOT running under the Cisco AnyConnect VPN.  It still works OK.  The listener just seems to ignore the repeated definition of the XE service (see output below):
    C:\ProgramData\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\bin>lsnrctl service
    LSNRCTL for 32-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production on 13-JUN-2013 10:03:15
    .......(omitted output).......

    (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=DEV-M-137GF.paychex.com)(PORT=58257))
    The command completed successfully
If anyone has a cleaner solution for this problem, please let me know.  Otherwise, I am moving forward with what I did.

  • How to add new group entry in Cisco Vpn using powershell

I am working on a powershell script to connect cisco vpn using powershell, I am able to connect to vpn but not sure how to add new group to vpn. I am using the following script$vpn_profile = 'Test'
    $username = 'TestUser'
    $userPassword = ConvertTo-SecureString -String "Password" -AsPlainText -Force
    $credentials = new-object -typename System.Management.Automation.PSCredential -argumentlist
    $username,$userPassword
    $password = $credentials.GetNetworkCredential().Password
    Set-Location 'c:\Program Files (x86)\Cisco Systems\VPN Client'
    .\vpnclient.exe connect $vpn_profile user $username pwd $password
    Write-Host "You Are Connected"
    cd "C:\"

Have you entered .\vpnclient.exe /? to see if it will return information about other switches you can use with this executable? Other than connect, I was able to track down a few without actually having the executable (http://www.scribd.com/doc/40108893/Cisco-VPN-Client-Command-Line).
That said, I do not believe that there is a switch that will help you create a connection. These are either done manually through the GUI, or can be likely be added by supplying a properly formatted file in the proper place.
If you're using the version of the Cisco VPN client I think you are, then your connection settings, or profiles, are stored in individual .pcf files somewhere on your computer (likely in the Cisco directory). These are simple, text-based files. Find one
on your computer, save it with another name, and then modify it manually. If you really want to use PowerShell, then use this opportunity to learn how to create and edit basic text files using PowerShell. If you have a standard connection file, then you can
put that file onto remote computers any number of ways. If a .pcf file exists in the proper place when the VPN client is opened, then it likely will not prompt for a new connection.

  • Unable to connect to database which uses custom NLS charset

    Hello,
I have custom character set installed on my database. I'm trying to connect to DB using OCI driver. On the client machine (Linux), I have Oracle 10g Release 2 installed. Custom character set is installed on the client side too and SQL*Plus connection works fine. Both NLS_LANG and ORA_NLS10 environment variables are set correctly.
When I'm trying to connect via JDBC, I'm getting the following error:
java.sql.SQLException: Character Set Not Supported !!

         at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:171)
    and so on...
The same code works fine on my computer (I have 9i client here). As I have read from various sources across the internet, Oracle 10g JDBC driver uses own character set conversation methods, encoded in orai18n.jar, it does not pay attention to NLS_LANG, etc.
So, my question is: do I need to create own character set for JDBC? And if so, is there a chance to generate it from existing .nlt files or I need to build them from scratch?

Sorry, I think it will be better if I move this post to "Globalization Support" forum : Unable to connect to database which uses custom NLS charset

  • Unable to Connect to the internet using airport extrteme

I am unable to connect to the internet using airport extreme It was working fine with my G3 & G4 iBooks but now I am unable to connect. I am able to connect directly to my Desktop connecting directly using ethernet. I am also receiving a strong signal from the airport base station. Please help. Thank you.

Try the following, in order, until resolved:
    1. If the modem has a reset switch, use it to reset the modem. Wait at least 5-10 minutes for the modem to initialize.
    2. Remove power from the modem. If it has a backup battery, remove this as well. Wait 5-10 minutes. Replace the battery, and add power back to the modem.
    3. Perform a complete power recycle of your network components as follows:
    Modem/Router Power Recycling - Quick
o Power-off the modem, AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS), & computer(s); Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 5 minutes.
o Power-on the AEBS; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
If this fails to get the modem to "recognize" the Internet router, then try the "Full" version.
    Modem/Router Power ReCycling - Full
o Power-off the modem, AEBS, & computer(s). (Wait at least 30 minutes. If possible, leave the modem off overnight.)
o Power-on the modem; Wait at least 15 minutes.
o Power-on the AEBS; Wait at least 5 minutes.
    o Power-on the computer(s)
    4. Contact your ISP to have them perform a "modem reset."

  • Mapped drives do not open after connecting via Cisco VPN Client

I have an issue when I initially connect to my remote network, I cannot get to any mapped drive unless I wait a few minutes for the VPN connect to mature. To explain further, I have to wait 2-4 minutes after connecting to the VPN for me to actually connect to those drives.
The error that pops up is:
"An error occurred while reconnecting to DriveLetter: to \\Server\sharedDrive\    Microsoft WIndows Network: The network path was not found. This connection has not been restored.

Any ideas on what it could be?

I have a client that is showing a similar issue.. Windows 7 computer using Cisco IPSec client terminating on a Cisco 881 Router.  I can ping the server by IP, Name and even access the drive from the start menu option, but not the mapped drive.  Currently I am looking into this from a offline file issue in windows, but ran across this post and was wondering if you had figured this out?  I am going to try the following and will post back if that resolves it.
Doing some research I found that Windows 7 and Vista both have what’s called “slow link mode”.  The behavior is that if the latency of the network connection exceeds 80 milliseconds (ms), the system will transition the files to “offline mode”.  The 80 ms value is configurable using a local group policy edit.
Open Group policy (start -> run -> gpedit.msc)
    Expand “Computer Configuration”
    Expand “Administrative Templates”
    Expand “Network”
    Click on “Offline Files”
    Locate “Configure slow-link mode”
This policy can either be disabled or set to a higher value for slower connections.

  • Unable to connect to an instance using EM but connecting fine with SQL*Plus

    Good morning,
I followed these steps (from the 2 Day DBA document):
    1. I created a template (including database) from an instance named "orcl" using DBCA, before proceeding to create the template, DBCA informed me that the instance would be shutdown, I told it to proceed.
    2. The template was created successfully.
    3. I am now unable to log into the orcl instance using EM, yet I can log into that instance without any problems using SQL*Plus.

  • RV220W - Connect to SSL VPN using Win7 Built-In SSTP

I'm relatively new to establishing VPN connections and I'm having one heck of a time getting everything configured.
I'm setting up a RV220W at the office and trying to get VPN steup. I've have gotten Quick VPN connections working using the QuickVPN software. I've given up for now on IPsec VPN connactions and will come back to these later.
What I'd like to get setup is the SSL VPN connections using the Win7 built in VPN client. Is this even possible? I initially tried to connect to the VPN via the SSL Web access but I cannot get the software/divers to install on any of the 3+ Win7 64 bit machines I tried.
So can the SSL VPN on the RV220W be setup to connect to with the Win7 VPN Client using SSTP?
Any links or guidance on how to setup the cerificates on the server and where to install them on the Client PCs? I think this is my major issue right now as the error I get when I try to connect is either: "The certificate's CN name does not match the passed value" (Error Code: 0x800B010F)  or " A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the trust provider" (Error Code: 0x800B0109). I'm trying to use self signed certifcates and I'm not sure if that is the issue (self signed vs genuine) but I really am not getting anywhere with this.
Also, the VPN does not have a FQDN just a static IP if this matters.
While I'm at it, I'd also gladly take any good links for IPsec on the RV220W but I wont be tackling that until SSL & the certificates are setup.
    Thanks,
    Justin

OK. Sorry to reply to myself but I got a few steps further. I figured I'd post how in case anyone needs to references this in the future or correct something I've done wrong.
So I've decided to use a Self Signed Certificate.
First I went to the Certificate page on the RV220W Config
Select Generate Certificate and fill in the info. As I'm not using a FQDN but a static IP, I set the Name, Subject & IP address all to the same, static IP.
I generated that and then hit view to copy the CSR
From there you need to generate a certificate.
    I used Getacert (http://www.getacert.com/signacert.html)
I pasted the CSR into the text box and hit SubmitCSR
Make sure you save the getacert public certificate and your own signed certificate
Back in the RV220W Certificate page, upload the getacert.cer to the Trusted Certificate section and your own self certificate to Active Self Certificates Table
This should generate a new Cert for the router and you will have to reaccept it to get back to the web config
Back in the Cert page again, Download the routers certificate.
Back on your client, import both the getacert.cer as well as the routers certificate to the "Trusted Root Certification Authorities"
    These steps got me closer.
Now when I try to connect using the Win7 VPN Client with SSTP I get a new error: Error Description: 0x800704D4: The network connection was aborted by the local system.
Any idea how to resolve this on the RV220W?
    - Justin

  • Unable to connect to Oracle 8i using the JDBC - OCI8

I am unable to connect to the to the Oracle 8i database using
JDBC 8.1.5. er. Each time I try I get the message:
    "java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no ocijdbc8 in
    java.library.path"
When I try to establich a "connection" using the connection
manager with JDeveloper 2.0 I get the message:
"No ocijdbc8 in shared library path"
What's the problem? Is it that I do not have the appropriate
driver? It is unlikely because the thin driver works...
    null

I dealt with this problem. For some reason OCI drivers
installation is not included in typiclal Jdev 2.0 instalation.
(bug?). In your instalation kit find Oracle 8i instalation disk,
and run the installer on the client machine (i.e. the same
machine where Jdev is installed where you were not able to
connect with OCI-8). Choose client installation and choose
custom installation. Than in the product list choose JDBC
drivers. Make sure OCI drivers are included. Install it. Now you
can find file ocijdbc8.dll in your ORACLE_HOME/bin directory.
Now you should be able to connect using OCI-8.
    Best of luck,

  • IPhone 5 unable to connect to internet or use web-based apps like Facebook or Tumblr

About two days ago, shortly after using my iPhone 5 to upload a picture of my son eating a donut to Facebook, I seem to have lost all ability to connect to the internet or update content on web-based apps like Facebook or Tumblr.  I tried to restore my iPhone in iTunes on my computer but could not do that without first turning of "Find My iPhone," in the iCloud section of my settings.  When asked to enter my password to turn off this feature the phone is "unable to connect to iCloud."  It doesn't seem to matter if I'm connected to WiFi or using my cell data - I'm getting a strong signal in either case, but the phone is unable to connect to anything.  I CAN make phone calls and send texts but that's just about it.
I recently updated to IOS 8.1.1 but it worked fine for several days before this problem started.  Any ideas?

I reset my network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings) and rejoined my network, and that seemed to fix it. Apps are working on wifi and on data, and I can once again send imessages. Since I couldn't find a similar post very easily, I wanted to post this for whoever needs help with this problem ;D

  • Unable to connect to iTunes Store using a 3G data card, but fine on wifi???

I am unable to connect to the iTunes Store when making use of my 3G data card - serviced by the South African Service Provider MTN. A message pops up saying "iTunes cannot connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your connection is active and try again." Fantastic! What baffles me is that I am able to connect to the iTunes Store through a Wi-Fi hotspot, but not when using the 3G card. I have checked my Internet connection, checked for PC updates (Windows 7) updated my iTunes, un-installed and re-installed the programme, but to no avail. Any ideas?

I beleive I may have found a workaround to this issue.  In "Settings" select "Safari".  Then change "Block Cookies" from "Never" to "From third parties and advertisers".  Lastly clear your history and cookies & data.  After completing these steps I was able to enter the iTunes store again.
I don't know why this worked but this was not necessary when using iOS 6.  Hopefully Apple is aware of this "bug" and will fix soon.

  • Unable to connect to my E51 using PCsuite 7.1.18.0

Have been using E51 phone with older PCsuite version for the past few months with no problem (BT connection)
After upgrade to PCsuite 7.1.18.0 began unable to connect to phone.
Downgrade back to older version of PCsuite but problem still remains.
Try to unpair phone but prompt 'Unable to unpair phone'.
Try to Rename phone id name and do a 'Search for more phone' but no new devices have been found and it looks like the search is only last for 1 sec only instead of doing a longer search.
Try to uninstall what ever BT stack in my device manager and reinstall but no success.
Would be hoping and praying for some advice on this matter.

  • Unable to connect to Steam Client using FIOS

Since upgrading to FIOS internet a year ago, I have been unable to connect to the Steam Client.  I have been in contact with Steam support and after months of trying all thier suggestions, I am still unable to connect.  I keep getting the message that "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Stream servers".  I am currently using the Actiontec router, but I have also tried the Westell and it also failed.
I have used a program called PFConfig to set the correct port forwarding in the router (I verifed that it is correct).  At Steams request, I disabled all non Microsoft services and uninstalled Norton Internet Security and was still unable to connect.  I have tried using 3 different PC's.  One with the Vista OS and two with Win 7.  I am in the southern California area.
I am at wits end.  If I cannot correct this issue, I will not be able to install any game which uses Steam as the DRM.
    Anyone have a suggestion?
    Art

Delete the port forwarding.  Pick a PC, determine the IP address it presently has been assigned and place that address in the DMZ on the router and try it.  If that works, then you have the port forwarding wrong ... if it doesn't, then there's something goofy with your PC firewall configuration most likely.
