Unable to connect to essbase via EAS & unable to create Planning Applicatio

we have 2 servers in our environment
Linux - Essbase Server
Windows - Planning, Reporting, EAS, Essbase client, workspace etc
when im trying to connect to essbase via EAS, i could not open the page.
Im also unable to create the Planning application.
We have installed essbase server on Linux Server and Essbase client and EAS on windows server and have configured these to a oracle 10g server.
Please give me your suggestions.

Could you please post the error message?
Have you checked all previleges that you are using for login through EAS?
Check with also defaut username admin once.

Hi all,
One of our environments have had the servers moved to new IP addresses. The DB server was completed changed so I had to reconfigure the environment, using the same databases, and redeployed all the components. Everything worked apart from EAS. It would not launch from the URL nor would it work if the console was installed on a server or PC. I logged an SR and it was suggested to update java which I did but it made no difference. A remote session yielded nothing. I decided to uninstall EAS and reinstall it dropping the tables in the DB and having them recreated as we use calc man for Planning. The EAS console now launches but I can't connect to Essbase. It just hangs and complains of an invalid log in. I tried the native admin account but that made no difference. Here is an extract of the logs

EAS is installed on the same server as Planning, APS, RA etc. essbase is on a separate box as are the sql databases so in all 3 servers for this environment.
Essbase is definitely started as I can connect to it using EAS from another environment and retrieve database from the apps in excel.

If you are able to connect to Essbase using EAS from another Server or PC. and in that Server only if you not able to connect to Essbase using EAS
it is Java issue only. (Ensure ESSBASE.EXE process is there in Essbase Server)
Which version of Hyyperion you are using??
Uninstall Java and install again.

HT4623 After ios update on my ipad mini i am unable to connect to internet via cellular connection

i Have update ios 7.0.2 on my ipad mini. But after update of ios 7.0.2 i am unable to connect to internet via cellulau connection. Cellular connection appears on my screen but i get error as "Could not activate cellular data network you are not subscribed to a cellular data service". Cellular connection was working prior to ios 7.0.2 update. Please help.

GOT MINE FIXED -
THE 7.0.3 update reported my iPhone as LOST or STOLEN to Verizon.
They suspended my iPhone service immediately (as I would expect them to) and THAT is why I couldn't get on.
Called Verizon wireless - they restored me in 30 seconds - EVERYTHING WORKS AGAIN.
They said "we've been doing this ALL MORNING."
Hope this works for others, too!

I have to get agent software for Windows server 2003, and as far as I know the only way is through self update in OEM, is this the only way?
But when I input my Oracle support credentials I get an error :

Proxy settings in EOM are set for https, but not sure about the realm, I input our damain address "company.corp"
test successful :
https://updates.oracle.com was tested successfully using the Proxy.

Unable to connect to essbase server

Hi all,
In one of my DEV environment(Hyperion 9.3.1 64-bit)..I'm unable to connect to essbase server(EPMTSG96:1478) and throws out below error
Error: 1051293: Login fails due to invalid login credentials
I'm not even able to perform start/stop of essbase server.
On the shared services end,i get below error message when tried to select my essbase server project(Analytic Servers: EPMTSG96:2),tied with essbase server EPMTSG96:1478

I'm able to connect to admin console using my "admin" id and not able to connect to my essbase server using "epmpadm",which is the user name set for essbase server EPMTSG96:1478.
Here goes the action i performed:
1) Created new shared services project as "Analytic Servers : EPMTSG96:3"
2) Added the application "Analytic servers :EPMTSG96:2" to the project,due to which this application already under project "Analytic Servers: EPMTSG96:2" got removed.
3) So now my project structure is like this:
Analytic Servers : EPMTSG96:3
+ Analytic Servers: EPMTSG96:2
4) Now tried to externalise the users from essbase server EPMTSG96:1478 and from then i got all these failure messages.

Unable to connect to Internet via Airport Express - 'cannot contact server'

I'm unable to connect to the internet via my Airport Express. I'm using OS 10.3.9, and had the same setup with no problems at a previous address, but with a different modem from the same ISP.
My AE is connected - the light is green - and my mac is connected to the network in Internet Connect. But when I open Safari I get an 'unable to contact server' message.
I've tried rebooting everything (modem, AE, Mac), and leaving modem/AE off for several minutes. Also reset the AE, but to no avail.
The connection works fine via Ethernet cable.
Any ideas?

Thanks, I checked out that advice doc (106798), but could not connect to the address (http://17.149.160.49) which is given to test if it's a DNS issue. My ISP says I shouldn't need DNS settings.
The service is PPPoE, and I went into Airport Admin Utility to check if the Airport was configured for this. Under Configure/Internet, I found it was set to 'Ethernet', so changed it to PPPoE. Then when I restarted I got connection status in the bar (and good Airport signal), but status flipped between 'looking for PPPoE host' and 'negotiating PPPoE host', sometimes sticking on one or the other each time I tried rebooting all gear.
Any other ideas?

Hi,
This is one of known issues. Firstly, ensure that agent and required services are up and running properly. As you said, you were able to connect through MAXL/ESSCMD , it means essbase server( analytical services must be up and running).
Next, check whether your admininstration services server is running.
If all s well, try NETDELAY and NETRETRYCOUNT .One can find informatino regarding this in tech reference

Nokia 3230 unable to connect to internet via USB c...

when i use CA-53 cable to connect to internet using nokia pc suite7.0.8.2 (one touch access) an error message pops up "unable to connect to the speified device make sure the modem is configured properly" but i can easily connect to internet via bluetooth other functions like file manager , contacts , messages and back up can be accessed by using the CA-53 cable

I called a vw dealership (in South Australia) today because I have an iphone5 and a Tiguan and experienced the same thing (after i had purchased the lightening/30pin adapter).
I was advised that the media interface software is not compatible with iphone5. VW will eventually update the software according to ol'mate at the dealership, but it will be at an expense to the consumer allegedly.
I know that there is a iphone/vw media cable one can purchase from VW however, I believe this to only work with iphone4 or older?
Maybe try an older generation ipod to use for the car if all ur music is in itunes?
if anyone can correct me, I'd be more than happy to know... going to try my older generation ipad and see if there is any truth to the tale.... eventually. Until then i'll stream via bluetooth :-)

Unable to Connect error 948 via SQL

System Center 2012 DPM trying to connect to a SQL instance on a different server using Windows Authentication. Getting the unable to connect error "Unable to cnnect to xxx.domain.com (ID: 948) Verify that the DPM service is running on this computer",
I figured out that if you add the user to "sysadmin" in SQL management it works for that user. My question is, is this the best practices method of solving this problem? Will this need to be done for every windows user
that tries to access the DPM, or is there a more proper way?

Unable to connect to Essbase Administration Server

Hi Experts,
I've encountered trouble of connecting to essbase administration server right after new installation of essbase. According to the documents, the default username is "admin", and default password is "password", but it's just working for me and prompt me with "Login failed" error message.
Details from easserver.log:
[EssbaseAdminServices0] [ERROR] [ESSEAS-35505] [oracle.epm.essbase.eas] [tid: 19] [userId: <anonymous>] [ecid: 0000JQeO6^AAlJWFLzBT8A1FXpq30000C^,0] [APP: EAS#11.1.2.0] Following Exception occurred for user admin. Message exception is EPMCSS-00301: Failed to authenticate user. Invalid credentials. Enter valid credentials.
I'm a newbie and this is my first installation, any hint of how I could diagnose the system to find out the root cause of such error?

Unable to connect to essbase server with Smart View

Hi,
I'm having trobules connecting Smart View in order to make some adhoc analysis, however I could perfectly establish connection with Planning and navigate through web forms in excel.
The address I'm using to connect to Essbase is: http://<server>:19000/aps/SmartView and the planning url is http://<server>:19000/HyperionPlanning/SmartView
I've been already using those urls in other server with version 11.1.2 but now that I'm trying to connect to a server with v11.1.1.3 I just can't. Whenever I connect to Planning in order to see the forms a prompt appears with the message saying that "I'm connecting to a server with an older version" but I could perfectly work with the forms. When I connect to essbase, I can see the Applications but I just can't make any adhoc analysis.
Could anyone have any idea of what could be happening?

Thanks for your response, I've already checked that port and keep getting the same message "Common Provider null datasource error". I can see the applications but can't get any further than that, no analysis adhoc, no smart slice, only disconnect :(

This is due to paths needed to be added to your environment variables on the o/s running HAL
To view/set the environment variables, navigate to My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Environment Variables.
User CLASSPATH:
<HAL_Install_Path>\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter
System or User PATH:
<HAL_Install_Path>\vbis\Hyperion\EssbaseAdapter\adm

I cannot connect to localhost essbase server installed on my Vista laptop.
These are the error messages I get when trying to expand mypc essbase server in EAS console..
Error: 1051012: User esadmin does not exist

I also get this error when I try to start it by right clicking the server in EAS:
Error: -1 com.essbase.eas.net.remote.RemoteStartException: Unable to connect to server mypc. Reason: Connection timed out: connect
The server might not be running.

How are you running Essbase? When you installed it, what userid and password did you use?
That's where you have start. An easy way to test this is:
1) Ensure that the Essbase service is not running.
2) Start up a cmd window.
3) Type "essbase"
4) After some whirring and clicking, you should see the Essbase agent prompt you for a password. The id and the company name you registered the copy of Essbase to will appear. Presumably this is the id "esadmin" but maybe it's something else.
Whatever password goes with the "esadmin" is the one you want to use.
if you can't figure it out or have forgotten, stop Essbase, and delete the Essbase.sec, Essbase.bak, Essbase.bak_startup and the files (or stick them in some place other than the hyperion\essbase\bin directory), and then restart Essbase as in the above steps. You will then reregister the product. Write down the id and password. :)
BTW, if you have security, users, filters, etc., the above step will blow them all away. Given your problem, it sounds like you're in an initial install so that won't be a problem.
Once you have that working, you can begin tackling the EAS issue.

I had this problem, my cable provider helped me solve it. In Internet Explorer go to Tools /Options / Connection . Click on Lan Settings. Be sure no box is checked. Click OK . After doing this both Foxfire and Explorer came up. Sorry they did not show me in Foxfire but it now works.
