Unable to connect to hotel wifi

I have one hotel that I visit on occasion, and always have problems with the internet wifi connection. It is a major brand name hotel, and my phone and iPad (which im writing this on),connect up just fine. I have deleted the network and  restarted it but still have no connection. My MacBook pro shows strong signal strength. Any ideas what I can do on my end as I'm not sure it's the hotels issue. My fellow traveler has no problem connecting with his oc

Go to settings, general, about, and you will see "version." That will indicate what your operating system is such as 5.0.1 which is the most recent upgrade.
As for the wifi, you might try going to settings, then general, then at the bottom reset, then click on reset network settings. Back out of everything and then when you log back onto your wifi it will ask you for your local password (assuming you gave it one when your router was set up). Enter it and you should be good for go.  At least this worked for me.
Good luck.

  • Trouble connecting to Hotel Wifi

I have a 2011 Macbook pro with mountain lion and I am currently at a hotel where I am unable to connect to the wifi.   To access you select the wifi that you want and open a browser and a login page should show up to allow you to sign in.  I never get that page on Safari, Chrome or Firefox.  I know it's in the settings, because if I load windows on this computer it works fine, but I would rather use OSX.  Any ideas?
    Thanks

    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Network ▹ Advanced... ▹ DNS
Under DNS Servers you should have one or more numerical addresses, such as “192.168.1.1” or “10.0.0.1”. Delete those addresses, then, in the TCP/IP tab, click Renew DHCP Lease. Close the preference pane and save the changes. Try the sign-in procedure again.

Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router

I tried all solution but still i am unable to connect to my wifi. It started yesterday when my ipad cant connect to wifi.

It's hard to provide help when your question starts out with, "I tried all solutions" however here is some troubleshooting advice.
If you are having WiFi problems it is necessary to isolate whether the problem is with your network or your iPad. Note: Do NOT consider your network to be blameless if some other devices can connect to it.
First, test your iPad on some other WiFi networks: a friends, Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, etc.
If it works well there then the problem is probably with your network. Try restarting your WiFi router by removing power for 30 seconds. If that does not help check for a firmware update for your router. If none exists which corrects the problem consider replacing the router.
If your iPad does not function well on other networks it possibly has a hardware problem. You could try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings to see if that corrects the problem. If not, contact Apple Support or visit an Apple store for evaluation. They can provide a replacement if your iPad is bad.
If you need more help please give the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

  • Unable to connect to secure Wifi, password input was correct

I was unable to connect to secure Wifi, i ensured that i entered the correct password, i tried to reset my network setting and reconnect to secure Wifi but still unable to connect. However i can successfully connect to public wifi.

Hi Charlesjoseph - I struggled for days and tried all the solutions mentioned in various forums before I realised that the password (the WEP key number) is case sensitive. Once I tried it all in capitals it connected no problem. Doh!!

  • Unable to connect Z10 to WIFI 2WIRE MODEM 2710HGV White color modem

Hi, I bought Z10 on 30th March 2013 with great enthusiasm. That enthusiasm didn't last as I was unable to connect to the WIFI with the   WIFI 2WIRE MODEM 2710HGV. I took the help of my service provider but couldn't solve the problem.  Yesterday I went to the service provider STARHUB and they were able to connect to the internet via their server. Then I went to the BLACKBERRY expert center at the CATHAY, there also they were able to connect to their server. I have done the basic things like inputting the correct password etc. I even tried setting the home network ID on my z10 but that didn't help. Where can I go wrong?. It

I'm unable to connect to home wifi with iphone.  My computer is able to connect as usual.

  • IPod Touch - 4th Gen - iOS 6 - Unable to Connect to Qwest WiFi

I'm not totally certain this is the place or section to send in a complaint, but in my frustrated rush I will post here regardless.
I have never had any problems connecting to my modem. Until just yesterday.
I left to to go work, and came home to find that my iPod was not receiving a connection from my modem any longer.
I tried connecting  my WiFi again only to get the message, "Unable to connect to this network".
I then restarted my modem, left it off for about an hour and then powered it back on. No change.
I've restarted my iPod, Reset Network settings, turned WiFi on and off and it still sends me the same message.
My roomate also has the same problem with his iPod.
I would love input, help, and suggestion from anyone who has either had this problem or knows exactly how to fix it.
Again, this problem DID NOT occur until yesterday afternoon at around 3pm (PST)
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice that will be given.

  • Unable to connect to unsecured wifi

My iPhone was unable to connect to my workplace unsecured wifi. The IP address, as well as the other details are as follows:
    IP Adress : 10.182.203.17
    Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.192
    Default Gateway : 10.182.203.1
    Preferred DNS Server : 161.142.201.17
    Alternate DNS Server : 161.142.2.17
I faced no problem in connecting to the network using my laptop or other mobile devices. Please advise for the correct setting as this is the only mean of communication on my workplace. Thank you.

Is your employer doing MAC address filtering? A completely unsecured wireless network in a place of business just seems stupid. MAC address filtering would only allow specific network adapters to connect (for example, those in company owned/approved devices) and would not be apparent to anyone attempting to connect casually.
If so, you'll have to ask them to add the MAC address for your phone to the permitted devices list.
