Unable to connect to music store

I have read all other related posts, and did all the things that were suggested, still no joy, it seems to me the problem has to do with the Itunes update.
Does any one from Apple ever read this posts and correct the problem or is it just left to regular users to come up with fixes
It is a real pain!!!!

I found this on the board several months ago and it worked for me after WEEKS of trying to connect. You do not have to use comcast, but they gave him the answer:
"Thank you Comcast for this one
Dear Elliot,
Thank you for contacting Comcast, my name is Cathy.
From the issues you described, it sounds like you need to reset your Internet Explorer settings to the default settings.
Before performing a reset of Internet Explorer to default, check the date, time, time zone, and Daylight Savings settings on your computer to make sure they are accurate. Some web sites especially secure sites; will not grant access if these settings are incorrect.
Verify that you are using the latest version of Internet Explorer for your Operating System. If you are not, upgrading to the most recent version should resolve any issues you are having with Internet Explorer. Also check the cipher strength by clicking Help, About Internet Explorer while in an Internet Explorer window. The cipher strength should be at 128-bit. If it is not, click the Update link to update your cipher strength to 128-bit encryption.

You have posted on the Windows forum, you might stand a better chance by posting this on the iTunes for Mac forum, assuming your sig is correct.

  • Itunes won't connect to Music Store.

FYI - Possible solution to Can't connect to network.
I had this problem and I uninstalled itunes and had an old copy laying around and I reinstalled the older version and then did the 'msconfig fix' (disable all services and then add a service one by one. It worked and I could connect to music store. Connected to the latest itunes version 6.0.something or other and I can now connect to music and Apple can now suck every loose penny I have.

  • Unable to Connect to iTunes Store for Apple TV Purchases

For the past 2 days I have been unable to make purchases from the iTunes store with Apple TV. I get the message "Unable to connect to iTunes Store. Temporarily unavailable. Try again later."  Despite this message, I have a valid internet connection and I can still connect to the iTunes store to preview movies and TV shows content with my Apple TV. I just cannot make any purchases. My Apple TV software is currently up to date and I have valid credit in my iTunes account.
Apple support have suggested that I contact their support community to see if anyone can help me resolve this problem.

Also having issue, it is ridiculous. Kinda defeats the purpose of having TV if you can't stream any content from iTunes since the change to no hard drive. Come on Apple, I think your better than this.
I have read on a couple forums that they suspect Family Share as the issue, does everyone have Family Share on? I for one do.

  • Can no longer connect to music store

I'm not sure what happened. After I did a clean install of WinXP, I downloaded the latest version of iTunes and connected to music store and bought some music. I couldn't burn it onto a CD. I uninstalled everything, re-installed the original iTunes from the mini CD, and now it won't connect to the music library anymore.
Does anyone have any idea what the heck happened?
    Please help,
    Thanks
    Nancy

Nancy, welcome to discussions! Since this is a connection issue with the store & not a problem with your mini, I would suggest you re-post in the iTunes for Windows forum, under the sub-section "using iTunes music store". There are a number of threads in that forum dealing with store connection issues.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • "Unable to connect to iTunes Store" 90% of the time

I have a 3rd Gen iPad with wifi only that I bought about 40 days ago.   Initially I had no problem downloading and updating apps but in the past few weeks I get "unable to connect to iTunes Store" over 90% of the time.   I always verfity the Internet connection is good and I've tried on my home wifi, my cellphone's mobile hotspot, and several hotel wifi connections.     The other day I went into settings and noticed the Security code for my Credit Card was blank so I filled it in and clicked "done".  Unable to connect so I checked back and the code was still blank.   I deleted and redid my CC info and messed with some other settings and iTunes finally let me update some apps.   Now I'm back home and it's giving me the error message again.    I'm wondering if this is a known issue or if there's a fix for it.

Usually it's because you are not connecting to the internet via wifi.

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Change the channel on your wireless router. Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

  • After updating to 10.8.1 unable to connect to App store

Just upgraded to 10.8 on a 2011 iMac 27" and everything was fine and was able to download 10.8.1 patch. After applying 10.8.1, unable to connect to App store, but onboard network card works otherwise.
If i disable ethernet connection and enable WiFi, I am able to reconnect to App store.
Thumbed through other similar issues after 10.8.1 that mention DNS, but it does not apply to this situation since the WiFi is using the same DNS servers within a corporate nework.
Thinking delete the .plis or change the network location, but was hoping there would be a better fix.

Root cause was dhcp assigned address was being restricted. Changed IP correcting problem.

  • Receive the message "unable to connect to itunes store" when trying to install updates for my apps

trying to install updates available for a number of app on my phon and keep getting the same message "unable to connect to itunes store"............

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • ITunes could not connect to Music Store

Okay here's my problem: When I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, it wouldn't open after the download was complete. So I went into the discussion about iTunes not opening and found this msconfig thing that you could do in order to make your computer start up differently. It told me to go to Start, click on Run. Then type in msconfig and hit enter. And after that I needed to change the startup selection to 'selective startup' and deselect 'load startup items'. Then I was supposed to go to the Startup tab and select only qttask and iTunesHelper. Next it told me to go to the Services tab and make sure that 'Hide all Microsoft Services' was selected. And Disable All. Then it told me to select iPodService. Then click okay and restart my computer. Now after I did all of this, iTunes opened. But when I tried to play my purchased music it gave me a message that said 'This computer is not authorized to play '_' (it said the name of the song here). Would you like to authorize it?'. And below there it had a space for me to type in my password, but my Apple ID was already typed in for me. So I did it correctly and typed in my password and clicked on Authorize....then I got an error message that said 'iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was refused'. I just figured that I typed in my password wrong and clicked on the purchased song again but this time I clicked on forgot password, but then got the same error message. It's been a difficult for the past few weeks not being able to listen to my favorite music. Could someone please help me, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. I tried calling Apple Support, but since you are only able to use it for 90 days, they wouldn't help me. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

Hi, I get the same error when I try to connect to Music Store or even get the songs info from my original Cd's, like song info and album art, it shows:
iTunes could not connect to the Music Store. The network connection was refused.
Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again.
I did try everything, I checked the windows firewall, the antivirus program's firewall, the LAN's router configuration and in all of them Itunes and all the Ipod related programs have permission but it still can not connect to the music store. Is there any way to solve this?
    Thank you

  • AOL users who can't connect to music store, come here!!!!!!

I was searching for web accelerator threads, since I couldn't connect the music store, and then I typed in, "aol web accelerators," and I found a thread that could turn off my AOl accelerators, but I couldn't turn it off. But the poster helped me enough, how to connect to the itunes music store. Enough about how I found out how to connect, and just forget about what I said before and follow these steps, hopefully it works. Sign out of AOL, if you are online. Go under you START menu on your computer. Then go under ALL PROGRAMS, or PROGRAMS. Then go under AMERICAN ONLINE and from there click AOL SYSTEM INFOMATION. When that box comes up, at the top of the screen click UTILITIES and at the middle of that section it should say, AOL ADAPTER, and press REBUILD AOL ADAPTOR. Once you press that, another box will come up that says something and under it it says OK, so press OK. After that sign on to AOL untill AOL is completely connected to the internet. Then try and go into the music store.
It worked for me, so hopefully it'll work for you.
    Thanks for reading.

Yeah It would be nice if the put ALL windows forums in one section and leave it out of the mac sections, or atleast split the ipod forums one for windows one for macs but ho well...
I know for iTUnes they have a windows only section, but then for some reason they dumped all windows topics in the iTUnes for mac section too. so Time to Time we get mac posters here and have to redirect them
