Unable to connect to site collection (website)

Hi
I have just set up Sharepoint Foundation 2013 on a Windows 2012 R2 domain controller.
I have created a site collection and have assigned it a name but am unable to connect to it.
I did this years ago on a 2003 server but cannot remember what I did (and it might not be relevant now...)
After creating the site collection this page is displayed:
http://img537.imageshack.us/img537/9210/e09e0a.jpg
But when I click that link this is displayed:
http://img539.imageshack.us/img539/5084/a7ea1d.jpg
Have I missed a step when doing this?
Just one website (site collection) will be created and used.
Can someone help me with this, please?
Thanks

Hi, Alex
Thanks for replying.
When I create the collection the following is displayed:
When I click the link I see a page can't be displayed message
Unfortunately, your link 404's but I looked up loop back check and found instructions on how to disable the loop back check:
Disable the authentication loopback check
Re-enable the behavior that exists in Windows Server 2003 by setting the DisableLoopbackCheck registry entry in the
 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa registry
subkey to 1. To set the DisableLoopbackCheck registry entry to 1, follow these steps on the client computer: 1.Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2.Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
3.Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4.Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER.
5.Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify.
6.In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
 7.Exit Registry Editor.
 8.Restart the computer.
Is this what you are referring to?
When I look at IIS, I cannot see htlincs listed as a site.
I will do some more research. However, if anyone has any links to content that will help me solve this issue I would be grateful. The 'collection' needs to be accessible by everyone within our network (single site, single subnet).
Thanks :)

I am able to get to all other web pages except these two. I am also able to access these websites from other computers using the same internet connection. • Unable to connect to sites - msjava.dll error

I finally got a new PC with Windows XP (had Windows 2000
before). I've installed Contribute CS3 and it works fine when I
connect to two of my sites which are internal to my organization
(hosted by us). The other two sites are hosted by an ISP outside of
our organization and I am unable to connect to those. Other users
can connect to the external sites with Contribute so I know it's
not a problem with the ISP. When I try to connect, I get the
standard Windows error box which states "Contribute has encountered
a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
and when I click to see what the error report contains, the ModName
is msjava.dll. I did a search for msjava.dll on my system and it
does exist in my windows folder.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any advice about how to
find/solve this problem?
Thanks,
Kathy

I've fixed this problem. I went to the Sun Java website and
downloaded the latest version. Once that was installed, Contribute
worked great.

• Performance Point Services - Unable to connect to site from Dashboard designer

Recently we moved the Reports site collection from one environment to other. So the Performance point content is also copied. Now I wanted to change the report paths that were deployed using Performance point services. When I try to open the report file from
perforamnce pointcontent  list it shows unexpected error. If I am trying to connect to the using Dashboard designer it says URL is not available does not reference Sharepoint Site or you do not have permissions to connect.
Pleasee see the attached file for more details.
How do the reports be fixed when they are to be deployed using Performance point services(Dashboard designer). Unfortunately we do not have the dashboard designer ddwx file with us. Its been developed by vendor and they have not given us.
How should the Dashboard reports(SSRS Report )  be moved from one environment to other. What is the best way to move the performance point dashboards from one environment to other.
Environment- Sharepoint 2010

At both site-collection level and web application level you need to enable SharePoint designer. Did you do that ?
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mcsnoiwb/archive/2010/07/01/locking-down-sharepoint-designer-2010.aspx
Opening site in SP Designer also needs WebDAV to be enabled on the web front end servers. If the problem still persists, simultaneously open up fiddler and see what's the error message you are getting. That may give you some clue to proceed

• Unable to access my site collection after publishing "MS Word SharepointWiki Plugin" to it

I am working on an publishing site collection of type "EnterpriseWiki" . and to be able to convert MS word documents to wiki pages i downloaded the "MS Word SharepointWiki Plugin" from https://sharepointwikiplugin.codeplex.com/SourceControl/latest.
then i open the downlaoded file using Visual Studio, then i right click on the solution inside the visual studio, and i chose publish. then i specify the URL for my site collection. and the publish process worked well. but when i tried to access the site collection
i got the following error :-
Http 403 Forbidden.
so can anyone advice on this problem please ?

Since there are no actual published releases of the code I suspect its still a work in progress.  I suspect you'll need to take a look at the actual code to figure out why it doesn't work.

• UK 02 - often unable to connect to site even with full signal

Sometimes my iPhone will refuse to connect to web sites or the email server, even though I have a full signal and gprs with or without edge. It's been doing this frequently since the latest firmware update and it's getting a bit annoying. It doesn't seem to matter where I am located.

I don't have an answer. However, since your question is not about Acrobat forms, but Designer forms, you need to ask in the LiveCycle forum that deals with Desginer forms.

• Unable to connect to site from my workstation. I click on Config mgr console icon and get the following message

The user account running the Configuration Manager console has insufficient permissions to read information from the Configuration Manager site database. The account must belong to a security role in Configuration Manager. The account
must also have the Windows Server Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) Remote Activation permission for the computer running the Configuration Manager site server and the SMS Provider.

If the answer worked, please do mark it as answered so it is easy for the moderators to find the posts that need to be worked on.
However, with that said, you certainly do NOT need to add the Full Administrator security role to use the console. As Torsten stated, you can use whatever role you need. The account (whether via a group or an individual account) just needs added to the console
as an administrative user, and added to the SMS Admins group (should be done automatically when you add the administrative user). Then of course the DCOM stuff that Torsten also pointed you to.
So if Full Admin worked, then I'd switch to the real role you want them to have. I'm guessing that it could have bee the user token had not been updated, so was not really listed as a member of the group. That's why when testing, I always add accounts individually
as administrative users, so you don't have to deal with that. Then after it works individually, then you can add them to the group you really want to use.

• Firefox is "unable to connect" to any site, while other broswers can

I've tried clearing my cookies and history, disabling addons/extensions and the firewall, changing/disabling proxy settings, and read several of the articles, but nothing seems to work. I was out of town for 2 days and everything was working fine when I left. Got back today and just kept getting "unable to connect" message for any website I tried to open. I tried to download chrome and opera, but the download had an error and just didn't work (chrome) and just stayed at 0% with nothing happening (opera). i'm able to get emails and get on websites via internet explorer.

Hello vtand06, did you also try a Clean reinstall ? This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
#Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from mozilla.org (or choose the download for your operating system and language from this page) and save the setup file to your computer.
#After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (or open the Firefox menu and click the close button ).
#Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
#*Windows:
#**C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
#**C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
#*Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
#*Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Installing Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
#Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
##Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
##Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.
More information about reinstalling Firefox can be found here.

You need to ask Apple for assistance with getting back into your old ID. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to resolve this issue through the Account Security team, fill out and submit this form.

• ProjectCenter Webpart on another Site Collection "This Web Part was unable to load"

Hi,
Project Server 2013 on an url like http://domain.tld/pwa
Trying to use the Project Center Web Part from another site collection, let's say http://domain.tld/sites/siteA
I get the "This Web Part was unable to load" error and in the ULS I get Object Reference not set to an instance of an object classic error
What am i doing wrong?
Thanks!

Thank you for the thoughts Michael but none of those worked for me.
What I have done so far is I have added the PWA features to the site which is what has made it work when logged in under the farm account.
So I have 3 account I am testing with
1.) regular account with read only permissions to the Publishing page
2.) Admin account that is in a group that is a site administrator to ALL sites
3.) Farm account
Currently it works for the Farm account and the Admin account but not the regular account.  I have added the regular account to the same group as the Admin account and will test when the change updates to see if I can access the information.  This
will at least let me know that it is a Permissions issue which is what I think it is I just cant figure out which permission it would need to be.
