  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless: HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.

Installing new printer,  getting error msg saying HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.   MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router which can prevent HP printer from connecting to your wireless network during setup.
SOLUTION says:  If MAC address filtering is enabled and you would like to keep it enabled, you must add the MAC addressof your printer to the list of permitted devices for your wireless router before continuing.
My router is WD My Net N900 Router. MAC filtering is diabled. My security mode is WPA/WPA2 Personal.
I have run out of ideas to try and fix the issues, would appreciate some help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jamshidk
I am surprised you are getting that message and you checked the router settings and it is showing that the Mac Filtering is disabled.
I would suggest connecting the printer to the router with a ethernet cable to get a valid IP address and then setup the wireless.
    Print a configuration report.

Type the IP address from the configuration page  in the address bar into internet explorer browser. This will open the embedded web server for the printer. Click on the Networking tab, on the left hand side select wireless. After this is setup and applied, disconnect the ethernet cable.
Should be on the wireless network. Takes about 1 minute.
    Run the add printer wizard.
Go to start, devices and printers and select add a printer. (Win 7)
    Test the printer.

Power off the router. Wait awhile. Power it back on. Wait until all the lights are lit up properly.

Well, there is always the possibility that it's been jailbroke, in which case, you're out of luck.  However...

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • HP 3054 J610a unable to connect to wireless network (Mac 0S X 10.7.3)

I recently upgraded to the Mac OS X 10.7.3 on my iMac.  The iMac, along with a few other devices, is on a Verizon Fios wireless network.  I was previously able to set up the printer on the network and print from the iMac, although there were times that the connection dropped.
I downloaded the updated driver and all other updates from both HP and Mac, yet when I use the HP setup assistant, it results in a failed configuration window with the message "The software was unable to configure your device" and "Failed to retrieve network" for IP address, Address Mode, Subnet Mask, etc.
The setup assistant recognizes my wireless network in an earlier screen but it cannot configure the printer to connect.  Also, I connected via USB and can successfully print from the iMac.
    Any suggestions?

  • Photosmart 6510 unable to connect to wireless network.

The wireless icon on my printer indicated "Not Connected" and showed this information
    IP Address: No Link
    Network Name: N/A

When running the Wireless Setup Wizard and selecting the internet network my computer is currently connected to, it then said that it was "Unable to connect to network. Unsupported authentication or encryption type." I ran a wireless network test and next to "Network Name (SSID) Found" is says "FAIL". If you need more information that can be found on the netork test results I will be happy to give you them. I do not have access to the router as I am currently at my university. It is a secured network so I'm thinking this is where the problem is coming from. Also, whenever I try to type in my IP address into my URL bar the page is not found. Any suggestions? Or am I just going to have to purchase a USB cable?

  • Unable to connect via wireless, printer is online.

I am using a Photosmart plus 209a via wireless.  There are 3 notebooks connected. 2 will print but my Dell Studio (Win 7 Pro) will not. It was previously connected but now unable to connect.  I have uninstalled all components using level 3 twice. Have used the Print/Scan tool.  Downloaded the full SW package and the Basic driver SW. I process a job and it gets to the spooler and then "print job failed".  I can view the control panel via IP address. I can view network settings and print wireless test page through HP Solution Center.  Why am I unable to connect?  I was able to use via USB but this is not an option.

It sounds like there is something different on the Dell Studio since it works from two other computers on the same network as the Dell Studio.  It also sounds like you are able to access the EWS of the printer by using its IP address.
Are there any other errors messages regarding the printer?  If so, what are they?
Is there a third party firewall installed (e.g. Norton, Kasperksy, BitDefender, etc.)?
Is this Windows 7 Professional 32bit or 64bit?

  • Suddenly unable to connect to wireless network...exhausted all fixes

I’ve got an odd problem with my two-week old MacBook Pro and its connection to my wireless network. I’ve done what I think is pretty exhaustive troubleshooting, but remain baffled. Here’s the story.
This morning I connected to my wireless network (DSL 2WIRE modem/router) with no problem. This afternoon I returned and Airport refused to connect, giving me the error message, “Airport is unable to connect to the wireless network…” The network shows up as being available, but when I attempt to connect, it wont. (I didn’t make any changes or install any programs this morning).
    Here’s what I’ve done:
    [1] Restarted the router
    [2] Repaired permissions
[3] Deleted the network’s entry in Keychain Access
[4] Re-entered my WEP code (assuring it is in correctly; I’ve tried both with the “$” and without)
[5] Used interface robustness and without.
[6] Attempted to join the network from the System Preferences>Network.Airport route.
[7] Created a new account and tried connecting.
    Other tidbits of information:
[1] Another MacBook in the house connects to the network with no problem.
[2] My MacBook can connect to another (unsecured) network that I can “see” in my house.
So, it would seem my Airport card is working okay.
    Any ideas??

Some more info (in case anyone is listening...)
I tried turning off the WEP code and could connect. (Since I share files on my home network, this isn't a "solution").
I also tried Resetting the MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC)(See: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303319). I did this (I think -- there wasn't any indication that the reset "took"), but alas -- no luck.
I gave Apple Care a call, but the support guy, while courteous and all, didn't have anything to offer other than telling me to take it in to an Apple Store for a repair (clearly it isn't a hardware issue).

  • Unable to connect to wireless network

I am unable to connect to my wireless network with my MacBook.
I have no trouble connecting with my windows PC. I have double checked the WEP key and checked that I am using the correct key type (128 bit hex). There is no MAC address access control on the network and DHCP is available.
All I get is a message saying 'There was an error joining the AirPort network "network-name"' and two buttons: 'Try again' (which produces the same error) and 'OK'.
    Can anyone help?
    MacBook Pro 15" 2.16GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi,
I'm also having this problem of not being able to connect to a wireless network. However, I'm in Spain and have my MacBook. I was able to connect to the wireless network with no problem for about 5 days' and then access stopped. I get the same password edit saying the network does not recognise the pw. I've tried all the proposed solutions described in this thread: entering the data manually, using a $ or " sign and to no avail.
The airport symbol is grayed out. However, when I open internet connection to join the network, 15 other networks including my own show up, so I believe the airport card is working okay. (everyone seems to have WiFi in the area).
Does anyone know if there is something peculiar to Europe I need to do in order to gain wireless access again ? I know the broadcast chanels are 1-13 vs 1-11 in the US. But I don't think this is a problem since I had access for a time.
Any info welcome. Sorry if I'm threadjacking here but I don't see where to start a new topic. The network is fine as I'm connecting using an ethernet cable.
    Thanks in advance,
    J.

Dreamweaver suddenly stopped connecting to website, fine one day then cannot connect the next. I can connect using CUTE FTP any suggestions what has stopped Dreamweaver from connecting?

Have you tried clearing DW's program cache yet? That's usually my first step if something "just started happening"...
    Deleting a corrupted cache file
Server updates can cause DW to need a setting change. Have you already tried toggling Use Passive FTP in your site settings yet?
Has anything changed on your local network, like an update to a firewall?
If you are connected via wireless router, a low likelihood but possible thing to test would be a wireless router problem. Try connecting the computer directly to your modem, bypassing the wireless router (if you aren't using an all in one modem/router setup) to see if that makes any difference.

Unable to connect to my Wi-Fi after upgrading to IOS 7.0.2.  Any suggestions?  Settings just freezes when I try to select Wi-Fi.

    Try a Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
    And/or...
Close All Open Apps...  Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • How can I empty anApple e-mail program mailbox.  I have thousands of message I wish to delete, but am unable to do so.  Any suggestions?

How can I empty an Apple e-mail program mailbox.  I have thousands of message I wish to delete, but am unable to do so.  I open the e-mails on my laptop, so I don't usually need to open them on the iMac.  Whenever I use select all, and the move to trash, they always seem to reappear again.  Prospectively, I know I can change the e-mail settings in preferences, but that doesn't help get rid of what is already there.  Any suggestions?

You mention 2 computers. Not sure how one relates to the other. Are the messages on one and not the other?
Are they in the Inbox, or another local folder you created? If a local folder, delete the folder.
Do you have anything used to sync messages between the 2 computers? If so, disable it.
Select the messages and choose Delete instead of moving to the trash.
If that doesn't work, rebuild the mailbox, quit Mail and reopen and try again.
If all fails, delete the account from the computer. Since it is POP, when you re-add the account, there won't be any messages to download.
