  • Unable to connect via wireless, printer is online.

I am using a Photosmart plus 209a via wireless.  There are 3 notebooks connected. 2 will print but my Dell Studio (Win 7 Pro) will not. It was previously connected but now unable to connect.  I have uninstalled all components using level 3 twice. Have used the Print/Scan tool.  Downloaded the full SW package and the Basic driver SW. I process a job and it gets to the spooler and then "print job failed".  I can view the control panel via IP address. I can view network settings and print wireless test page through HP Solution Center.  Why am I unable to connect?  I was able to use via USB but this is not an option.

It sounds like there is something different on the Dell Studio since it works from two other computers on the same network as the Dell Studio.  It also sounds like you are able to access the EWS of the printer by using its IP address.
Are there any other errors messages regarding the printer?  If so, what are they?
Is there a third party firewall installed (e.g. Norton, Kasperksy, BitDefender, etc.)?
Is this Windows 7 Professional 32bit or 64bit?

    Hi There
Im not sure this would work for you all but i came accross this discussion after suffering the same problem and after pulling my hair out i finally solved it and thought it was only fair i posted how.
I had tried all options on here apart from deleteing everything off my memory card ( i wasn't keen on this option ) i checked the running apps and it just showed that standby was running,
So i thought i would try uninstalling recently installed item one by one, i had recently installed some  software called CALL RECORDER  and although it was not showing up that it was running it was in the background after deleting this the problem was solved ,
So try and think if there are any apps that you have installed that may be running in the background but not showing up , i would advise deleting these one by one as i did and if it still doesnt work you can reinstall it ,
    hope this helps
BUT EVEN AFTER ALL THIS I STILL LOVE MY N95 8GB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unable to connect via airport all of a sudden

Unable to connect to the internet via airport all of a sudden. No changes to modem or router or network settings of macbook etc. Other devices in the house can connect just fine, but called cable support to verify and all is fine on the DSL end. Cannot download updates w/o internet connectivity. Have tried going thru the motions of setting up airport again and cannot get past the DHCP (can't remember exact letters at the moment) as my carrier is not a PPoE. Aside from reinstalling the OS to see if that will fix, does anyone else have any suggestions? Apparently this happens more often than I thought based upon other posts. Thank you!

Thank you for your help and it was a big help. I removed Norton software firewall, and firefox began to work. I thank you for your help and suggestion.

  • Ipad Air unable to connect via Citrix Receiver

    Hello,
Has anyone been having issues since the beginning of the week with regards to connecting via the Citrix Receiver App? I just get cannot connect, it does launch the applications briefly but then bombs out.
Tried factory reset and upgrading to 8.1 but still same issue.
Did notice Citrix updated their app on Monday.
    Thanks,

usb is a digital serial bus it does not carry analog audio to be able to do what you wish a program would have to run on both devices and I doubt that 3th party programs can get access to the usb port in ios
your best bet is to connect the minijack audio out connector of the ios device to a minijack analog input port like line or mic in on the mac
if a such does not exist then you can get usb audio cards for the computer which would have a 3.5mm minijack line in

  • AirDisk File Sharing - Saving Files - Unable to connect via wires then...

OK, I followed these instructions from another poster as I was unable to save Microsoft Word documents directly to the drive via the "Save As" option...
    -------- PREVIOUS POSTERS INFO ----------
The solution that works for me is to mount the AirDisk(s) using SMB instead of AFP.
This means you should log on the AEBS and configure the Disk for Windows File Sharing - this is on the 'File Sharing' tab of the Disks configuration group.
You only need to put in a Workgroup Name (I used "Basestation"). Don't worry about the WINS Server.
You should update your AEBS, and turn of the AirDisk Utility.
You then mount your disk(s) using SMB. You can do this using the Finder -> Go -> Connect to Server.
    Enter the following:
    smb://"YourBaseStationName".local./"YourDiskName"
You should then be asked to enter the Workgroup name, the disk name and the disk password.
This should mount your AirDisk using SMB.
In my experience, this not only solved my problem re saving within Word/Excel, but also increased the speed with which I can access the AirDisk...
(If you want these Disks to mount automatically when you login, then Add these disks to you Start Up items in your login account...)
    -------- END POSTER ------
OK, so here is my problem... After doing this, I was able to save a file directly to the drive... I also followed these instructions as it said it would be faster overall... Now, I use Apple Backup 3.1 to backup both my laptops to my external hard drive on the Extreme. Well, when I brought up the drives on my desktop, the names didn't change, but the names of the drives were all capital letters... I think this threw off the Backup program because it said that it doesn't recognize this location, therefore, it showed that he had never backed up to that location before. So, figuring I changed it and caused a few minor changes, that I would just erase the hard drive, plug the hard drive directly into the laptop as I had done before to speed up the inital backup, and then go back to wireless backups thereafter as they wouldn't be "full" backups and would then be faster and tolerable. Well, when I went to connect the drive to my laptop via the USB cable, you could hear the drive mounting, you could see the drives mounted in Disk Utility, but they refused to show up on the desktop, no matter what. What does this mean? Did making the drives work as File Sharing drives make them no longer able to mount via a cable anymore? What gives? Any ideas?

    1. My USB 500GB External Hard Drive is currently
partitioned into three different drives. The Volume
Format is "Mac OS Extended (Journaled), what is
    that?
Mac OS Extended (Journaled) is one of the HFS formats. Apple does not use the term HFS anymore but it is the same thing. You can find a good explanation about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HFS_Plus
    This will explain journalling, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journalingfilesystem
    2. What is a FAT volume? What does FAT stand for?
    Where would I select that?
Here is an explanation about FAT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FileAllocationTable
It is a choice in Disk Utility when you erase a disk.
    3. What is an HFS volume? What does HFS stand for?
    Where would I select that?
    See above: Mac OS Extended.
It is a choice in Disk Utility when you erase a disk.
    4. What does SMB mean/stand for?
It stands for Server Message Block explained here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ServerMessageBlock
It is a protocol for connecting to volumes over a network.
    5. What does AFP mean/stand for?
It stands for Apple File Protocol explained here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AppleFilingProtocol
It is also a protocol for connecting to volumes over a network.
    - Yes, I tried to save an MS Word document to my
AirPort Disk, but it hung up and I got the spinning
beach ball and ended in an error and I had to force
Microsoft Word to quit. Then I saw that posting and
I tried that, I was then able to open an MS Word
document and save it directly to the drive the first
time. However, like I said, it messed up my Backup
3.1 (When mounting as SMB) and made it believe that
this was a whole new drive and that it hadn't backed
up to it before, when it had, but only when I
    connected as AFP.
Did Backup work when you connected using AFP?
    - So, this would've been a simple fix if I plan on
staying with SMB share, however, when I go to connect
my USB External Hard Drive directly to my laptop, the
partitions do not mount on my drive like they had
before I made the drives a File Sharing device
    through AirPort Utility.
Try using Disk Utility to repair the disk or disk permissions and see if you can read it again.
    6. How do I get that drive to be recognized by my
computer again when I connect it directly to my
    laptop?
I don't know why this is happening you may want to call Apple Support about that.
    7. I don't care about anything Windows/PC, so
whatever way is FASTER and provides the BEST results,
    let me know!
If you don't have PCs then stick with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as your volume file format.
    8. Also, when I select "Connect to server" and then
click "Browse" and then "Network" nothing shows up in
there, but when I type the path in they connect just
    fine, why?
That's strange! All available network volumes should show up when you click on the Network icon in the Finder. I don't know why it is not working for you.
    THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!
    Some thoughts!
I would stick with Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as your volume file format. If backing up to the network share is important to you, I would wait until Apple fixes the problem regarding opening and saving Word files directly to the network share (Air Disk). Save them locally and then copy them to the network share.

  • Unable to connect via wrt54gx2 wireless

Had this router for a couple of years - was working fine last time I was on, about 2 weeks ago.  Using with an HP with Vista, via a broadband.  LAN connection works fine. Wireless Drivers are still there, and I'm able to view my network in the Manage Wireless Connections screen. However,  I am unable to see this connection as an option via the Connect to a Network screen, though I am able to see other wireless connections in the neighborhood.  I have turned off the power to the router multiple times, unplugged the internet cable as well, rebooted my laptop, etc. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Try to readjust the wireless settings of the router...Open the linksys GUI by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar..Under the Wireless tab,Set the Wireless channel to 11-2.462GHz...Change the SSID(network name) and click on save settings.Check your Security Key under Wireless Security tab...Under the Advanced Wireless Settings...Change the Beacon Interval to 75, Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

Were you able to generate a key? If not create a domain-name which is needed to help generate the key
    Router(config) ip domain-name Test.lcl

You should check settings in NetworkManager as well, since your settings broke after installing Gnome 3 that seems like a possible culprit.
    Generally off topic:
Just as a small note, there is such a thing as a FTP cable, though it is also sometimes written as F/UTP due to newer standards names. Basically it is a TP cable where the cables in it are wrapped in foil, hence the name Foiled Twisted Pair. This gives shielding from interference like magnetic fields unlike a UTP cable which is an Unshielded TP cable. There are also several other cable shielding standard names.

  • Cisco MDS 9222 - Unable to connect via hyperterminal

    Hi,
I am accessing the MDS via console port. The other end is connected to my serial/usb adaptor (driver installed). I am using the following settings
    Baud Rate: 9600
    Parity: None
    Stop Bits: 1
    Data Bits: 8
Flow Control: (Tried all three options)
Sometimes junk chars appear. I have been however successful once in connecting through xON/xOFF option.
I connect to dozen other various Cisco devices with the same PC & adapter. Is there something different for MDS switch.
    Regards

In my setup I user Tera-term and the flow control is set to 'none' and I am able to connect usually with no issues.
I just tested with Hyper-term and the settings of Speed=9600, Data=8, Stopbit=1, Parity=none, and Flow=none worked just fine.
Hit the enter key several times after the window pops up. I do this to sync the clocks across the serial line. Some times it works even without hitting the enter a few times....seems the first time I connect to a new MDS I have to do this. Once the connection is made, the subsequent connections do not require the multiple enters to sync up.
    Hope this helps,
    Mike

  • L2TP w/ PSK unable to connect via the phone dataplan, has anyone come across this?

I have been messing around with this on my Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0.2 and have confirmed the following settings for VPNs to our corprate firewall.
PPTP over Dataplan CDMA -- Everything works fine
PPTP over Dataplan LTE -- Untested due to lack of availability where I live and work, will test at a later date.
PPTP over WiFi -- Everything works fine
L2TP over Dataplan CDMA -- Connection timeout
L2TP over Dataplan LTE -- Untested due to lack of availability where I live and work, will test at a later date.
L2TP over WiFi -- Everything works fine
OpenVPN not supported without rooting the phone -- Verizon please add this functionality into your base ROMs for all of your phones.
The reason I ask about anyone coming across this or having a fix is PPTP may work but it's old/insecure comparitively and may be going away in a future stable tree release of the corprate firewall I work with.  The full support of L2TP and/or OpenVPN/SSL-VPN would make life a lot easier for us techs who need to bounce into a server quickly and do what's needed when having a PC at hand is impossible, ie at a sitdown resturant.  If you need logs of the connect attempt let me know and I'll get them to you.  I did however see this error posted on the Samsung Fascinate forum as well.

As of yet no, they are on my list of people to call but I won't be able to get to that call until a little later, once I do call Verizon Tech support I will reply with the post here if it hasn't been answered by someone who has come up with a workaround on the issue.

  • Kindle unable to connect via Wiireless

BTHome Hub 2 The Kindle used to connect wirelessly now it will not. From the list of available networks provided on the kindle, I choose the network BTHomeHub2-2CHT which is also the correct wireless network name on my Hub. The kindle asks for a password, I give it the Wiireless key written on the hub and it will not connect. I have given up trying to get around the problem having gone through the Amazon help site and the BT. So here I am and any advice would be apprcieated. At the moment the Hub is configured to use the latest WPA security. Should I be changing the hub back to the older WEP security? Can that be the problem?

There is a guide here http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/37771/
Have you tried restarting the home hub and trying again, after deleting the existing connection on the Kindle?
WPA works fine with the Kindle.

  • Unable to connect via BCP on a remote machine

Hi, Hoping for some help - probably really basic question!
I've been using BCP for a while now to import data to a table, where the script is on the same machine as the database.
What I'm trying to do now is load data into a table on the same DB, but trigger the BCP command from a different machine.
    BCP TeamSandBox.dbo.Adhoc_List in D:\Import\Adhoc_List.txt -t, -f D:\Import\FormatFileAdhoc_list.fmt -T
This is my main BCP command, and works fine from the local machine, bit when triggered from a remote machine, I get this...
    SQLState = 28000, NativeError = 18456
    Error = [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'Domain\UID'.
    SQLState = 42000, NativeError = 4060
Error = [Microsoft][SQL Native Client][SQL Server]Cannot open database "TeamSandBox" requested by the login. The login failed.
The domain\account I'm using has full sysadmin access to the server, and db_owner to the database. Equally, running SQLCMD commands from the same remote machine also works just fine - including inserting into the same table.
Is there an access priviledge I'm missing out here?
    Thanks

You have missed the -S parameter to enter your servername/instancename and -d for database name. -d is not mandatory but is good to avoid confusion and to make sure you hit the correct database.
