Unable to connect with the wireless feature
I have the Linksys WRT54G version 8.0, it bridges with my DSL modem. I have 3 wired desktops and 1 wireless laptop (which does not connect without wired connection). According to the easylink advisor, we do not have an internet connection. But I have internet connection as long as all 4 computers are wired in. My problem now is we have a new ps3 and can not do the wireless connection. I have checked all settings on router page and still shows no connection. What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this? I can get on-line just can't use wireless. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Sharon
You need to do Port Forwarding on your Linksys Router...
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 80 and End box type in 80, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
2) On the second line in Application box type in DEF, in the start box type in 443 and End box type in 443, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
3) On the first line in Application box type in GHI, in the start box type in 5223 and End box type in 5223, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
4) On the first line in Application box type in JKL, in the start box type in 3478 and End box type in 3479, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
5) On the first line in Application box type in MNO, in the start box type in 3658 and End box type in 3658, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box...
6) On the first line in Application box type in PQR, in the start box type in 10070 and End box type in 10080, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box and click on Save Settings
7) Now assign the given ip address on your PlayStation
ip address :- 192.168.1.20, subnet mask :- 255.255.255.0, default gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
8) Also assign the dns addresses on the PlayStation
Primary dns :- 4.2.2.2...Secondary dns :- 192.168.1.1
9) Turn off your modem, router, and PlayStation...Wait for a minute...
10) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the PlayStation and test it...
As your PlayStation is Wireless make sure you are connected to your Wireless Network...

I have a ipad mini and i have had it for less then a year, it says that i have perfect wifi up in the left corner where the wifi is always at but when ever i go into the built in safari it says that it is unable to connect with the server. How can i fix this because with out it connecting to the server or internet it is kind of useless to me. I do have ios7 if that helps
The wifi symbol only indicates the presence/signal strength of wifi. Not that you are connected.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

I am unable to connect with the iTunes store. ITunes keeps "accessing", but that can go on for an hour. No error messages. It just never connects. How can I overcome this?
The question for me becomes what motivation do I (Apple's customer) have to download Autoruns from Windows, open a compressed folder, try to determine which Winsock Provider is mine, check for updates and then run whatever it is I need to run to fix this. All these steps just so I can access the Itunes Store and buy from Apple. It would seem that Apple would find a fix on their side so their customers don't have to do this. Is anyone from Apple listening???

Mac mini issue:lost connectivity with the wireless keyboard
I lost connectivity with the wireless keyboard and I can't unlock the lock screen. What can i do?
Sometimes powering the keyboard off by holding in the power button on the right end of the battery box and then after ten of so seconds powering up again will reestablish the connection. Other than that forcing a reboot using the power switch on the mini should restore the connection unless thereis something else going on.
If this is a recurring problem try replacing the batteries with fresh ones. If this keyboard has been paired with another bluetooth device such as an iPad or another Mac, unpair it from the other device. -
Why is my mac is not connecting with the wireless keyboard
For two days my iMac hasn't been connecting with the keyboard, I changed the batteries for the keyboard but it's still to working. Any suggestions?
If you're using IP addresses in the 192.168.x.x range they are not information that anyone here can use to "get at" your machines. So, please reply with the following information from one of your devices that works, and then it will be clear what IP addressing scheme you have that the mini needs to fit into:
ip address
subnet mask
default gateway
DNS server
DHCP server
if your access to the internet is via a router/gateway, those devices usually have a web interface for administration. It would be helpful to use it to find out the range of IP addresses that are being used for DHCP. Using the exact same IP configuration on one machine that another already uses causes IP address conflicts, and the last machine to try to use the conflicting address will have its address disabled, so that's why the last thing you tried didn't work. -
Wireless LAN cannot connect with the wireless router with Windows 8.1
Hi,
I currently have a Lenovo V570 laptop with Windows 8.1 running on it. I cannot seem to stay connected to a wireless wifi connection for more than 10 minutes without it going "limited" and a yellow caution exclamation icon hovering over my connected wifi icon.
When it goes limited, I cannot access the internet whatsoever and it's growing increasingly frustrating. I used to have success by disconnected and reconnecting which seemed to temporarily solve the issue, but now even that is not working.
I did not have this issue (I don't believe so) when I first installed Windows 8 on this laptop a few years ago. This is an issue I've been dealing with for over a year now and only within the past 4-6 months has it been really bad.
I found this support page here which provides solutions for my problem but after attempting all of them, unfortunately none of them worked. The only time I experience no issues is when I directly connect an ethernet cord from my laptop to the router.
The wireless problem exists for all wifi connections, whether it be my university wifi, home wifi, local, etc.
Can anybody please help me out? I'd be more than happy to provide additional info to get this problem fixed once and for all.Hi,

Hi,
There might be a problem with your router. On your iPod, under Settings>Wi-fi, tap the blue arrow next to your network. What does the IP Address begin with?
Hope this helps!

Mac mini not keeping connection with Cisco wireless access point
I am trying to get my wife's Mac Mini to keep it's connection with the wireless network at her school. They are using a Cisco access point (not sure of the model) which works fine with my G4 Powerbook and the numerous Macbooks being used there, but for some reason her Mac Mini drops the connection after 4 or 5 minutes, at which point she needs to log right off for it to reconnect (as opposed to just turning the card off and on again). I have already gone through the deletion of the Networkinterfaces.plist file, and recreation of the Airport card profile process, but this only kept the interface active for about 36 hours, then it was back to the same old problem. At this point I am thinking "flakey card"...before I ship it off to Apple, can anyone offer any other possible solutions?
After spending time on the phone with a Apple support technician, he indicated that the Iphone has a compatibility problem with the wep key encryption that the Cisco appliance uses. I find this disturbing being that Cisco is the biggest in network gear. What's UP Apple? We need SP1 for the IPHONE!!!

Why won't Apple TV connect with the servers?
Ever since the introduction of IOS 7.03 and the new iPad I have had problems with my Apple TV. After selecting a movie or a TV show and selecting play, there is a long wait and then a message appears, "Apple TV is unable to connect with the servers." What is going on?

Am considering buying a Time Capsule. But all specs I read about it (re: printing) is how to hook up a printer via USB connection. Need to confirm...that a wireless printer will work with the router feature of the Time Capsule. I assume yes...?
A wireless printer connects to the network just like your computer, or iPhone/iPad, etc. connects using wireless.
The printer must be set up intially to scan to "find" available wireless networks, then your specific wireless network needs to be selected. Then the password for the network needs to be entered.
Once the printer is configured to join the network, it is always connected to the network. No further configuration is required. -
Lync 2013. There was a problem connecting with the Exchange. Unable to load the magazine discussions.
Installed Lync Server Standart 2013, client PC MS Office 2013.
As the mail system - Lotus Notes Domino Server and Lotus Notes client, respectively.
Exchange is not installed at all.
question:
1 What is the message: "There was a problem connecting with Exchange. Unable to load the magazine discussions." and how it is fraught?
2 How can I fix this message? Cleaning the C: \ Users \% UserName% \ AppData \ Local \ Microsoft \ Office \ 15.0 \ Lync \ does not help
3 What are the disadvantages when using Lync Server Standart 2013 without Exchange? In principle, I put for Lync Exchange?
4 What are the advantages when using Lync Server Standart 2013 with Exchange?
5 Is it possible to work simultaneously Lync Server Standart 2013 + Exchange + Lotus Notes
Thank you.1) That sounds like a strange translation. But basically, it wants to connect to Exchange and it's complaining.
2) You can attempt to go to Tools->Options->Personal and set Personal Information Manager to None, and in Lync Management Shell run set-csclientpolicy
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398300.aspx with the following options:
DisableCalendarPresence $True
DisableEmailComparisonCheck $True
EnableExchangeContactSync $False
There may be more, I've never tried to completely disable Exchange features from Lync.
3) No conferencing plugin for meeting invites, no automatic presence management based upon your calendar, no searching your Outlook contacts for new contacts, no voicemail, no conversation history,no unified contact store, and more:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj688098.aspx
4) This is just #3 in reverse :)
5) Depends on your goals, but the experience wouldn't be great. You'd want to keep your contacts and calendar in Exchange and your email in Notes. It would be confusing to your users.
