Unable to contact certain email addresses

When I try to contact friends using certain emal addresses I get an error message telling me that the email address is not registered with iMessage? What do I have to do to register said email address???? Or tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm a new ipod user, please help!

I am still having a problem sending messages to a friend who has a new mini iPad. I keep getting an error message telling me that her email address is not registered with iMessage. Do I have to emil her and ask her to turn on iMessage or is there something I can do at my end to register her email address on my system. I have no problem FaceTimeing or emailing her so I know that the email addresses I am using are valid. So far this is the only correspondent that I am having a problem sending messages. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated.

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

How can I block myself from sending email to a certain email address? I am in the middle of a relationship ending and I want to RESTRICT myself from being able to send outgoing email to a certain email address. Please advise. Might sound kind of silly, but you could go into Contacts, the person in question, edit, and where it says Add Field, put somthing in like STOP, or DO NOT DO THIS
At least that would get your attention, even if it doesn't block you from emailing.
There just isn't much you can do to block yourself. If you have a couple close friends, do something like an AA support group...call a friend and have them talk you out of emailing.
I'm not trying to be smart alecky about this, actually trying to help, but there isn't much to offer.

Sync your iPhone to iTunes, and see if that does the trick. Also you could try a Soft Reset with no Risk to Data. Holding down both the Sleep button and the Home button until the Apple logo appears and then waiting for the Reset to bring you iPhone back to the lock screen. Are you trying to add the email at Settings>Messages>Send and Receive from (2 Addresses) your iPhone number and your email address?

How do I use a Contact Group email address as the sender of an email?

I want members of the contact group to be able to manual select the contact group email address as the SENDER. This, primarily, so that recipient clients can respond, if necessary, by merely pressing reply (then the entire group gets the email).

By "contact group" do you mean a distribution group? If so, you need to use one of the following the shell commands:
For Send on Behalf: Set-DistributionGroup <group alias> -GrantSendOnBahalfTo <useralias>
For Send As: Add-AdPermission<group ID>-User<user alias>-ExtendedRights'Send-As'

Unable to open certain email messages

Hi,
I've configured my gmail account on nokia messaging on my 5800 XM. I get notified on new email and I've been able to get my emails as well.
But there is this weird problem with certain emails. When I click on the email, it retrieves the message switches to open that email, but immediately switches back to the list of emails. I've tried a lot of times, but this seems to happen consistently for some emails. Is there any reason why I'm unable to open certain emails?
(I don't really see anything special about these emails that don't open)

At sending mail to certain email address: MS Outlook stopped working and needs to restart

I am facing that problem but only with certain email address while with some other it works fine. Thought the email address is the problem, I tried with iPad and it works fine. This signifies that the problem is NOT the email address but the software itself
(ipad does not use Outlook). I have tried to disable add-on in registry but to no avail. Have used also MS diagnostic software without any success.
Seems like this is a category problem, I wonder why Microsoft does not act on this bug?

Hi,
This issue may be caused by the corrupted Auto-Complete cache, please run Outlook with the "/cleanautocompletecache":
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /cleanautocompletecache" in the blank box, press Enter.
This will remove all names and e-mail addresses from the Auto-Complete list. Then send the emails again to check the result.
Anyway, could you let me know what symptom that makes it look like a category problem?

Cannot see contacts from email address

When I setup an additional email I am unable to see contacts associated with that address.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

Mail remembers previously used email addresses for a period of time. Those you no longer use will eventually disappear. After you have sent one or two emails to the new address the old address will move below the new one. Then after a period of time not sending to the old address it will disappear. Patience is the key.

How do I send to contacts multiple email addresses at one time?

I have several contacts who ask that emails be sent to multiple emails address at the same time. How do I do that without creating additional cards for each email address?

Are you entering the addressees into Mail individually or are they included as part of an Address Book group? If you are using a group, I believe you will need to have multiple cards per individual.
If you are typing the addressees into Mail's "To:" and "Cc:" boxes, you can select among multiple addresses on one contact card just as you would select among multiple people with the same first name; just repeat for each address.

hi looking for help here I have 2 email address that where put in the junk but are not , I moved the email address to the inbox but then they stopped even coming threw to the junk?... I then thought if I made up a rule to go to a certain folder for this email address I would be happy with this but even this doesn't work and it's taking some times 4-5 hours for me to revive this email address , the server at there end is fine as they send this email to a group and my hotnail account recives it instantly

Any error message provided and if so, what?
Are the message headers available in your account's Inbox mailbox and when selecting a message to view it, the content is not shown?
Is your account a POP or IMAP account?

Contacts without email addresses

Hi.
Just got my iPad 2 and synced my mobile account.
All my contacts have been synced but without the email addresses!?!
I use a Blackberry phone and have no problem with the contacts on my Macbook.
But onced synced to the iPad no email addresses show, only phone numbers.
Anybody have the same issue????

How do I notify my contact list of my email address change. Do I have to select every contact individually?

To answer your second question first, Apple Mail doesn't impose a limit, but your mail provider (eg, Gmail or whoever) might.
There are a couple of ways to notify contacts of changes. Address Book has a built-in method. First, make sure your contact information in your card is correct (delete any old information).
Next, if you need to send your email in multiple batches (because of a mail provider limit), group your contacts into separate groups of under that limit (eg, under 50, or 100). Make a number of groups called, for example, "All Contacts 1", "All Contacts 2", then multiple-select a set of contacts and drag it into the appropriate group.
You can now use the File - Send Updates menu to choose the groups you want to send to, and customise the message. Your contact details will be enclosed in a VCard file, which people can add to their contact programs.
To send the email manually, just start a new email and in the "To" field, type the name of your first group. Compose and send the message. You can either copy and paste the message text if you need to send to a second group, or use the Resend button on your sent mail to change the destination.
One more thing - For this kind of mass email, I generally favour putting my recipients (contacts or groups) in the BCC field, and setting the "To" to my own address. That way, people don't see each other's email addresses (which can be a privacy issue for many people).
