Unable to contact vmware host machine

Good Day
I am experiencing a problem where the MS Virtual Machine converter gets stuck on the Source page when you click next button.
( I am trying to convert a virtual VMware based server to hyper v.
It comes up with the message "validating the credentials" for a few seconds then a error comes up "Unable to contact VMware host machine"
I am running the app on the server 2012 R2 VMware host server. I can ping the VMware host. The Firewall is disabled. I have installed the requirements for the application. If I do it from another pc (win 8.1) I manage to connect to the VMware host..
I also installed the message analyzer tool and monitored the NIC. The interesting thing is that I can see the ping packets etc but as soon as I try to use the migration tool there is not a peep on the wire. The fact is that the tool is not even attempting to
contact the source host.
Can someone please help? I need to run this from the server since I need vhdx suport.
Thanks

What version of MVMC are you running, I think 3.1 is the most recent?  Since you have all prereqs installed, then I would see if uninstalling and reinstalling MVMC helps.

  • VMWare Multi-Hypervisor Manager - Unable to connect to host

I have installed a VMWare Multi-Hypervisor into a test environment running vCentre 5.5. However, when am trying to add Microsoft Hyper-V, it says "Unable to connect to Host".
Winrm are enabled on the Hyper-V host. Also, tried to manually add its IP on TrustedHosts in Winrm. Still no go. Can somebody please provide some directions.

    Hi,
Hyper-V 2012 R2 is not supported by Multi Hypervisor Manager, hence your issue with adding the host.
You can refer to the Release Notes for further information.

  • Unable to Contact xVM VirtualBox Host

    Hello,
I have a problem during the installation of the Sun VDI demo:
i reached the stage where i add a new desktop provider; and i receive an error:
"Unable to Contact xVM VirtualBox Host
No certificate was found on host <ip address> at port 443"
i did everything step by step and it seems correct and all the services are up.
    thanks in advance.

    hi,
i installed vbox 2.0.8 and the apache is running, and also i can access the host on port 443.
now i've noticed that during system boot i receive a message:
"svc:application/virtualbox/webservice:default: Method or service exit timed out. killing contract 41."
now when i check this service after the system is up:
    "svcs svc:application/virtualbox/webservice:default" it's online.
do you have any other ideas?

  • Unable to access SP App from host machine. Page not found

I have created a virtual machine and configured SharePoint environment for the trail period on my windows 7 machine. I am able to do the Remote desktop connection from my host machine and access my SharePoint sites from the host machine browsers.
But when I try to access the apps created for SharePoint, it shows the page cannot be found. I am able to access the same App for the same user in the SharePoint server but not its host machine.
I have added this App domain to the intranet zone of host machine and to the server.
Could you pls suggest me what I am missing?
    Thanks Sandy (MCTS, MCP)

    Hi Sandy,
You can check if this issue is related to your virtual machine application network settings.
Please try to ping your SharePoint server from Windows 7 client see if it could be successful.
Please try to access your SharePoint site via IP address from Windows 7 IE browser, see if it works, may add SharePoint server ip map in your hosts file  on windows 7 machine.
also check if it is related to SharePoint AAM configuration.

  • Weblogic 8.1 managed server unable to contact Admin server

I have a strange issue here.
I have admin server on Linux Machine A
Managed server on Linux Machine B.
When i try to start managed server on Machine B, i get the following error.
The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.
Exception raised: 'weblogic.management.configuration.ConfigurationException: [Configuration Management:150001]An error occurred while connecting to the admin server to bootstrap through URL: http://MachineA:7100/wl_management_internal2/Bootstrap, user: system
    java.io.EOFException
    at java.io.ObjectInputStream$BlockDataInputStream.readFully(ObjectInputStream.java:2571)
    at java.io.ObjectInputStream$GetFieldImpl.readFields(ObjectInputStream.java:1990)
The error suggests that managed server on machine B, is unable to contact Admin server on Machine A.
But i know for sure that Admin server is running on that port 7100 for sure.
It has been for the last 3 years.
To see if Machine B and Machine A have network issues, i did telnet.
From Machine B: i typed the following
    telnet MachineA 7100
    Connected to MachineA.
    Escape character is '^]'
The above telnet command tells us that no network issues exist.
After a few tries, the managed server contacts to admin server and comes up.
This is not a one time thing.
I saw this behavior many times.
    How should i resolve this?
Edited by: gvamsius on Feb 12, 2009 1:23 PM

    Every thing is configured fine.
    Nothing wrong with Configuration.
This domain has been running for the past 3 years.
Recently, i found something interesting in admin server logs, when i try to start the managed servers.
I realized there will be some amount of hand shake that happens during managed server startup, when it tries to communicate with admin server.
Here is the log snippet when managed server A contacts Admin server and starts up successfully.
    ####<Mar 10, 2009 12:11:42 PM EDT> <Info> <Configuration Management> <Admin Host> <admin-server> <ExecuteThread: '13' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-150023> <Bootstrap servlet invoked with action isrunning from managed server Managed Server A.>

Here is the log snippet when managed server B contacts Admin server and does not start.
    ####<Mar 10, 2009 12:07:07 PM EDT> <Info> <Configuration Management> <Admin Host> <admin-server> <ExecuteThread: '14' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-150023> <Bootstrap servlet invoked with action isrunning from managed server Managed Server B.>
    ####<Mar 10, 2009 12:07:07 PM EDT> <Info> <Configuration Management> <Admin Host> <admin-server> <ExecuteThread: '14' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-150030> <The bootstrap servlet has acknowledged that the admin server is running to the booting managed server Managed Server B.>
    ####<Mar 10, 2009 12:07:08 PM EDT> <Info> <Configuration Management> <Admin Host> <admin-server> <ExecuteThread: '14' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <BEA-150023> <Bootstrap servlet invoked with action bootstrap from managed server Managed Server B.>
The difference as you can see here is that managed server starts up only when Admin Server does the following
<*The bootstrap servlet has finished sending the configuration to Managed Server A*.>
Does any one knows why Admin server would not send the above bootstrap configuation all the times for the managed servers?

  • Unable to remove a host from VMM - Error (2606) Unable to perform the job because one or more of the selected objects are locked by another job.

I am unable to remove a host from my Virtual Machine Manager 2012 R2. I receive the following error:
    Error (2606)
Unable to perform the job because one or more of the selected objects are locked by another job.
    Recommended Action
To find out which job is locking the object, in the Jobs view, group by Status, and find the running or canceling job for the object. When the job is complete, try again.
I have already tried running the following command in SQL Server Management Studio
    SELECT * FROM [VirtualManagerDB].[dbo].[tbl_VMM_Lock] where TaskID='Task_GUID'
    I received this error back:

Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier.
I have also tried rebooting both the host and the Virtual Machine Manager Server.  After rebooting them both, I still receive the same error when trying to remove the host.
    Here are my server details
VMM Server OS = Windows 2012 Standard
    VMM Version = 2012 R2 3.2.7510.0

    Hi there,
How many hosts are you managing with your VMM server?
The locking job might be the background host refresher job. Did you see any jobs in the jobs view, when the host removal job failed?
If there is no active jobs in the jobs view when this host removal job fails, can you please turn on the VMM tracing, retry the host removal, and paste back the traces for the failed job (search for exception and paste the whole stack)?
    Thanks!

  • Contact Apple Host for a research purpose

    Hello the Apple Host,
I am a postgraduate student at Old Dominion University and currently working on a research focusing on online forums/discussion boards. I plan to conduct a study in Apple Discussions. I need to contact Apple Host to see if Apple can accommodate my request.
    Thanks

Just remember any research you perform here may be skewed by certain facts:
    1. The vast majority of users come in here if they have complaints or issues with their machines, and not just to rave about Apple products, and/or to help those with issues.
    2. Some users may be logged in under multiple names making an issue look more prevalent than it is reality.
    3. Updates invariably appear to cause consternation every time they are released, but in the end it turns out to be user lack of knowledge or preparedness that triggers the majority of issues as my FAQ* explains:
    http://www.macmaps.com/upgradefaq.html
So when researching this board, be careful not to try to get too many facts skewed out of proportion because of the general tendency for people to complain when they don't understand their computers.

  • Problem to connect to VMware virtual machine in VMM

I have a problem to connect to the VMware virtual machine console through the VMM Admin Console. I get the message "For a connection with this virtual VMware machine necessary ActiveX object is not installed. Would like you to install the VMware ActiveX element now?"
If I click "yes", IE opens. To the installation of this ActiveX element I've added the web access side of the VMware-Host to the trustworthy sites in IE. I've also disabled the strengthened security configuration for IE. But it did not help.
    What can I still try?
    Thx

The most common problem getting the activeX installed is that the VMware infrastructure web portal has not been setup completely. It is from that portal that the activeX is downloaded and installed. Ensure that the VMware infrastructure portal has been setup
and configured for SSL. The Url we attempt to get theactiveX from is https://HostName/ui/plugin/msie/vmware-mks.cab
Uhm, yea, that URL is invalid. Maybe it was for vCenter 3.x? or 4.0 only? Does not resolve on v4.1 :(
If you are having trouble getting the activeX installed there are a couple of workarounds. One workaround is to install the VMWare Infrastructure Client onto your machine where you are running the VMM Admin Console. The Infrastructure Client installation
installs VMWare's activeX along with its own client.
Tried that... it doesn't use ActiveX anymore (still 4.1) so no go :(
Another workaround is to login to the VMware Infrastructure Web Access portal and one time connect to a VM. This will also download and install the activeX and let it work.
Tried that... it doesn't use ActiveX anymore (still 4.1) so no go :(
So basically I need either the SCVMM guys to figure out to do this in the new version from vmware or I need some vmware experts to tell me where I can find this activex component...

Two obvious problems. 1) Can't contact OAD on usicesn2 (the machine that has the entire 3i suite), and the attempt to access DATEST. DATEST was the NT machine we previously were using before migrating to Solaris. How does it know about DATEST?
I've tried stopping, starting, deregistering, re-registering, putting in the hard ip address, and no joy.

How did you have discoverer 3i working on one machine (solaris). I was under the impression that in 3i Solaris can only be used as a HTTP server and for the discoverer server you need to use an NT machine.
I am using the above setup but when I start the start_locator it says it cannot bind to the preference session. I then started the locator on the NT machine and moved the locator.ior file on the solaris box. It seemed to work then. Also using everything on one NT box seems to work.
Can you please give me an idea as how use are using solaris for your locator, preference and session component.

Apparently you need to go into the BIOS setting of your computer. Normally you would have to press a certain key right after your computer reboots or starts. Usually there is also a brief message about which key to press in order to enter your system's BIOS (not inside vmware). Is this what you tried?Yes I have tried that using F2 key to bring up the BIOS and when I bring up the system BIOS, I just can't same to fine where I need to enable VT. The first 3 options in SYSTEM can not be edited.

I found the following in Google that seems to match your case:
    http://www.petri.co.il/virtual_run_a_64_bit_guest_operating_system_in_vmware.htm
"In my case, I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 with an Intel 64bit processor. The VMware 64-bit compatibility tool told me that my computer was capable of running a 64-bit Guest, however, when I went to run it, I was told this: I found that I had to go into my BIOS and enable my Intel VT VMM capabilities. After I did that and rebooted my system, I was able to run my 64-bit OS using my already installed VMware Server."I have the same system - I will appreciate if you enter your BIOS again and find a specific area where I can enable VT.
    Thank you

  • Invoke windows sound recorder in host machine by flex application

    Hi
I have a flex application which provides option to invoke
windows sound recorder in client machine. User provides path of
windows sound recorder exe file and using 'navigateToURL('path of
recorder given by user)' method i plan to invoke the recorder in
    client machine.
While executing this code in flex builder it runs properly
and invokes recorder. Then i deployed the flex application in a
server and requested using internet explorer. But this time it does
not invoke recorder. The error messge it displayed is gi ven below
    SecurityError: Error #2148: SWF file
    http://localhost:8080/flex/bin/DEVM.swf
cannot access local resource C:\WINNT\system32\sndrec32.exe. Only
local-with-filesystem and trusted local SWF files may access local
    resources.
    at global/flash.net::navigateToURL()
I think it is a security issue of sand boxes. Anyway i tried
to make the directory where exe file is kept (ie. system32) as a
trusted location using 'Global security settings panel'. But that
also did not solve the problem. I think only swf files, not any
other files, in the trusted local directories can be accessed by
the remote flex application. Is it right ???
Anyway i dont wish to keep any swf file under
    'local-with-filesystem' sandbox in client machine.
Can anybody please help me to resolve this issue please ....

    Hi,
The problem is I am not able to connect to database (11i/R12) from host machine. I am successfully able to run the application from host machine after putting entry in "hosts" file. What is the error?
To connect to database I have installed Oracle 9i client on host machine and put the entry in TNSNAMES.ORA generated by 11i/R12, but even doing so I am not able to connect to database. Are you able to tnsping the entry? If not, what is the error?
Please make sure you also follow the steps in (Note 291897.1 - 11.5.10 New Features : Managed SQL*Net Access from Hosts).
Is there any way I can connect to database (Installed on VMWARE) from HOST Machine.Post the error you get when you connect to the database remotely as well as the output of tnsping command.

Unfortunately, your best bet is to obtain original proof of purchase and escalate your issue for assistance in detaching the Apple ID from that device. If your unable to get the proof of purchase, expensive paperweight . Did you get it through amazon?? Because I just got one through amazon....
