Unable to continue SAP upgrade because of VERSCHK_INI phase

Hi gurus,
I was having a problem on my upgrade BW 640 to ECC6. Im currently doing
phase VERSCHK_INI when suddenly error occured. "SAP_APPL not installed"
which is correct our BI system does not have this component. What I did is to click continue then another message
appeared
"checks after phase verschk_ini were negative !!!
It is recommended that you repeat phase VERSCHK_INI you can exit and
restart the phase after the errors have been corrected. Alternatively,
if you know that the error is not of concern, you may ignore it and
continue with phase VALCHK_INI"
I click  ignore and message
"CAUTION: this operation requires a
password contact the SAP support if you dont know it."
Then I tried to click continue but next window is asking for a
password. I stopped from here.
I dont have any ideas for what password will i use, already tried OS and SAP level password  but no luck. Is there a workaound for this issue? or OSS will provide it for me?
Thank you.
Joel

Sounds like you are trying to upgrade your BW 3.5 system to a BI 7.0 system.  You should be using a netweaver upgrade kit, and not an ECC6 kit.

  • Unable to continue ... because of mysterious Scratch Disk problem

Okay, so I've been using Photoshop Elements 2.0 for years without incident.  Today I get a screen saying my scratch disk is almost full.  I don't know what this means (I couldn't find any such folder/file on my computer).  No matter what I put in for Disk 2-4 options I get the following message in the end "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable."
Search the Forum but didn't find anything.  Ideas?
    Dave

Scratch disc is the space assigned for Elements to write temporary files to...like history steps, etc. The fastest scratch disc will be an internal drive.
You don't say which OS. If you are on Windows, you might be able to squeeze out some more hard drive space by defragging your hard drive. More RAM helps too although I am not sure to what extent scratch fills in for lack of RAM.
If your hard drive is full, it would be better to move your photos onto an external drive than to assign an external to scratch. It should be relatively pain free to move your photos as you have E2. You don't have to worry about Organizer/catalog issues.
If you go the external hard drive route, you will need to connect your external hardrive to your computer and turn it on your before you launch Elements. If you don't, Elements will not "see"...detect... the external drive when you attempt to navigate to it.
If you aren't already, I would recommend backing up all of your photos and important items by copying them onto DVD discs.
Personally, I move all of my files onto an external hard drive after I gather enough to fill a DVD disc. I copy the files to DVD disc as a backup then move everything that I copied onto my external hard drive. (I also keep all my pack rat items like PDFs, Q-Time Movies, brushes, and other assorted junk on my external hard drives...yeah drives. LOL)

  • SCM2007 upgrade error in SHDINST_CPY phase of PREPARE in MSCS

    Dear all,
we're trying an experimental upgrade from SCM5.0 to SCM2007 on an MSCS cluster (sql server rdbms on a separate cluster).
Currently the SCM5.0 is installed on a multi-SID cluster, with ASCS only in HA, 2 standalone enqueue replicators on the 2 nodes, CI and DIA on the 2 nodes, exacttly as of the manual, and it worked great so far.
Now we're trying to upgrade this clustered SCM instance to SCM2007, and
the upgrade is stuck in SHDINST_CPY phase of PREPARE, with the error:
SEVERE ERROR: copy of O:\usr\sap\put\bin\NTINSTASCS.PFL failed
In fact, the file above (ASCS profile template) doesn't exist in the put folder.
Tried the PREPARE twice, by using a new empty put folder and fresh upgrade media, same result.
So far very little or no support from SAP.
Any hints will be sincerely appreciated.
    Franco.

Hmm, thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't apply to our case.
Here you see out UpgDialog file with all the events registered. Apart of the error: ERROR: RFC of "subst_get_uvers" failed. (DDIC was locked before), to me it seems pretty clean.

The PREPARE module Import will be started now.
During this module programs, structures, and table entries
required by PREPARE are imported (the socalled "tool import").
Note: This can cause a loss of performance in R/3
In rare cases, a concurrent transport via the transport directory
may disturb the tool import. Please avoid any concurrent import
    during this PREPARE module.

Anybody has an idea why such behavior? Strange is I was able to run it 2 times - even this exception came, but Upgrade assistant windows appeared.

    Hi Anand,
Fortunately this issue was solved, let me explain how was it. We changed the environment var dbs_ora_schema because it was pointing to another system, also we updated SAPup even when we have done this with bad results. So, after we did this changes everything start to work fine.
Thank you very much for your time and support and best regards,
    Ruben
PS By the way, we've been running the Upgrade Assistant with option nohup

  • Unable to continue activation after i upgrade version

unable to continue activation after i upgrade version in my 3gs who knows how to solve it?

That's almost always because the phone was hacked to illegally unlock it.

  • Photoshop "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error.

Originally installed adobe photoshop cs. This couldn't be activated and support was contact they advised to uninstall and install adobe photoshop cs2 with a serial  number provided that was provided with the link. CS couldn't be uninstalled due to the following errors 'epmty temp folder' (which was done) 'program may be in use' (it wasn't) 'no internet connectivity' (internet connectivity was active). Support couldn't assist with this. So Cs2 was installed and activated successfully. However as soon as photoshop is started the following error is displayed "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable."  I've reset prefences and also removed the nvidia video driver after reading a thread photoshop has known issues with nvidia drivers. Also tried logging in an another user. I am now out of ideas as to what to try to get this to work. Can anyone suggest anything that may get this resolved.
    Thanks

You mention a link.  Did you download the special CS2 installation file, and not use an original CS2 file?
Your system originally had CS on it?  CS is ten years old.  How old is the computer you are using?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adobe_Photoshop#CS
How does this system stack up with the minimum requirements for CS2?
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-photoshop.html#main_ Older_Versions
Remember these are _minimum_ requirements, which in reality means not even close!
If you think your system should be up to it, do what Station said, and give us a very full description of your system and operating system.  (Unless it is Windows XP. )

How can I recover the NAS back up to put on my new Time Machine.
Talking to Apple Support Adviser was a waste of time on case number 239647273
    Any thoughts or pointers?

Keep the old OS around and just kick the tires and test new OS. Apple has a history and habit of breaking support in things like this.
You can use TimeMachine as one level of backup, and even there there were changes with Lion, I would always recommend foremost backup clones of every volume. And clone (SuperDuper etc) can be stored on something like HP NAS Media Server which also was supporting TimeMachine, iTunes - until Apple made that harder and more their own proprietary format.

    Lion Communities
    Cloning as a Backup Strategy
Rather than "upgrade" I would clone the system, and do a clean install, then allow Setup Assistant to import your files.

All other Aplications on the system run normaly as well. No other indications of hardware issues are logging. There is ample memory and space available on this system.

installed photoshop elements 8.0 with Windows 7. Worked excellent till two days ago. I got the error message "Unable to continue because of hardware or system error. Removed programm and re-installed from disk, no results!

Are you trying to open the Organizer or the Editor?
Can you uninstall that driver, or re-set Win7 to a restore point before that driver was installed?

This message indicates that your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it.
Then when you updated/restored your phone it locked back up to the original carrier.
Only the carrier that the phone is locked to can unlock it.
