Unable to copy from iPad to Laptop

I am updating my iPad, and when I do, I keep getting the following error:
"Attempting to copy to the disk "Macintosh HD" failed. An unknown error occurred (-4)."
Any ideas why this is happening?

I get this error message when transferring purchases from iPhone 5s to iTunes. Any solutions?

I have synced apps from ipad to laptop. How dow I open the app and use it ?

iOS apps will only run under iOS.  They cannot be opened, run or used on any other operating system, so they cannot be used on your laptop.  The sync and transfer of purchases apps is merely to keep a copy of the app as backup on your laptop.  While you can re-download any app you have from your iTunes/App Store account, that will only get your the latest release version.  If you want to keep older or previous releases around as backup, then your only copies will be the ones you've copied over to your laptop for safekeeping.

  • Streaming photos from ipad to laptop

I streamed photos from my laptop to ipad (not using iCloud) and my laptop hard drive has now failed. I have no back-up of the photos. I can still see the photos on the ipad. Is it possible to stream the photos back to a new laptop from the ipad?  None of the photos were taken from the ipad. I was advised by the apple store that it is not possible to stream from ipad to laptop due to copy right laws etc. Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Thanks

  • My new laptop is Windows 7. I've just updated iTunes to 10.7.0.21 x64. ipod  with 3000  tracks no longer recognised. I want to copy from iPod to laptop. Is it possible?

My Toshiba laptop is Windows 7. I had to remove first attempt at loading iTunes 10.7.0.21 but second attempt seemed OK. My iPod with 3000+ tracks was reognised by my old laptop but is not recognised by iTunes on my Toshiba. I want to copy from iPod to iTunes to maintain the library. Is this possible?

  • Unable to Copy from PO to AP Invoice

    Forum,
I have one user with a 2007A SP01 PL09 system who is unable to use the 'Copy From'  Purchase Order option in the AP Invoice screen. If they open the Purchase Order screen and use the 'Copy To' it works. Any other user it works fine on.
Upon checking this users authorisations, they are set to 'Full Authorisations for everything.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Juan

Noticed after raising this that it's because of the item/service type. I hadn't selected the correct one.

  • My playlist didn't show up on new laptop after copying from the old laptop

What can I do when my playlists didn't show up on new laptop after copying from the old one?

I just simply copy only the whole iTunes music folder to my external hard drive, that's it and it goes good. That way if you just copy the whole iTunes folder it also carries along with it all it's subfolders. If subfolders aren't carried over you may end up with a library with missing album arwork. Album artwork, iTunes media folder, itunes previous libraries, itunes XML folders etc., etc. You get the picture.
    Yes.
This is much better way than changing the media folder location.
Keep everything in the same iTunes folder.
However, when I do it this simple way as compared to the Apple way it doesn't save my play counts or ratings.
Since it is exactly the same library, everything should be the same.
Then just go to external drive click on iTunes folder and then in iTunes add folder to library and all your songs load up. This isn't moving the library but just backing it up.
You don't need to add anything.
    Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder you copied to the external.
You can delete then /Music/iTunes/ folder as this same folder was copied to the external and this is now your iTunes library.
You can also do this top make a backup of the iTunes library (thoug you should be making a backup (Time Machine or some other backup program) of yoru entire computer.

  • How do I transfer photos from IPAD to Laptop

I have a considerable number of photos on my IPAD and I am trying to move them to my laptop or external hard drive.   I cannot find the "Removable Storage" under my computer - how do I do this please?
IPAD is connected to Laptop - ITunes Opens.
I can see IPAD under Drivers

If the photos are in the Camera Roll album on the iPad you can copy them to a Mac or PC.
Connect your iPad to the computer and start your camera application. On a Mc you can use Image Capture or iPhoto. On a PC use whatever application you have to copy photos from a camera. Once you start the application your iPad will be recognized as a camera and the photos in the Camera Roll album will appear. You can then designate which photos to copy and where to copy them to. When you are finished you can also select photos in the Camera Roll and delete them right from within the application you are using on your computer.

  • How do i transfer music library from ipad to laptop?

how do i transfer the data contained on my ipad over to my new laptop?

You're going to run into problems syncing with the new computer unless you copy the entire iTunes folder (not just the music folder) from your old computer to your new one.  This article explains various methods for doing this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.  The folder contains criticle iTunes library files that define the syncing relationship between your iPad and your iTunes library.
If you attempt to sync with a new, empty iTunes library, iTunes will remove all iTunes media (apps, music, etc.) from your iPad, and replace it with the media in the new library (if any).  If you copy your entire iTunes folder to your new computer, then authorize the new computer for your Apple IDs (in iTunes Store>Authorize This Computer), you will be able to sync just as you did before, and all of your music, apps and other iTunes media will be on your new computer.

  • Itunes 9.2 Not transferring purchases from iPad to Laptop

I've never had a problem transferring applications from Iphone -> iPhone 3G -> iPhone 3GS -> iPad. But today, when I was attempting to transfer my applications to the iPhone 4, they did not appear.
2 Hours of troubleshooting (and a few calls to apple), I've discovered the following:
    1) The applications are not being synced onto the laptop. This can be detected in two (2) ways - first, there is an exclamation mark beside the app, missing artwork (seen through the iTunes Library / Apps Screen) - Second, Get Info displays an error message, "The applications could not be used, because the original file could not be found", finally, the "Mobile Applications" directory on my laptop doesn't have the file. It really isn't being transferred onto my laptop.
I've tried the following diagnostic steps
    1) Power Cycle Everything.
    2) Right Click on the Device, and click on "Transfer Purchases" (though Apple swears this should be automatic)
I am able to download the applications onto my iPhone 4, and I'm not charged for them - but, getting them onto the iPhone 4 that way will probably take me the next four - five hours of determining which ones are missing, and downloading them one at a time.
Anybody else run into this problem and come up with an innovative solution?

  • How-to transfer notes from Ipad to laptop

    Hi !
we are using an Ipad2 64gb and my wife has about 50 notes she would like to transfer to her laptop, I have no idea how to proceed.
    could someone help ?
    thanks
    Gwynian

Also, if you are running iOS 5 on your iPad 1, and you have previously enabled iCloud Notes sync your iPad 1 notes should be in your iCloud account. Simply enable iCloud Notes sync on your iPad 3 to trasnfer the notes.
If you havent't previously enabled iCloud Notes sync on your old iPad, you can transfer your iPad notes to your new iPad without needing to restore from backup using third party applications such as copytrans contacts
Simply run the program on your computer, connect your iPad and export your notes in text files to your coputer.
After that use the same tool to import the notes to your new iPad.
