Unable to copy Itunes purchases to DVD.

Have made many DVDs in the past using music purchased from I tunes. For two days now "computer authorization" messages now prevent me from doing this. I have done all that I know to authorize my computer and received numerous messages that my computer is authorized but still does not work. Needless to say, I am so frustrated by this problem. The music plays in my computer and plays in my "DVD" until I try to burn it. This has never happened to me before. Anyone have a solution? I sent an inquiry to Itunes but the response was unbelievably non-sensical and of no help.
Thank you.

I have the same problem copying my iTunes media from an old computer to a new iMac.  I am trying to copy from an old computer via target disk mode, connected via Thunderbolt/Firewire800.
I noticed today that the files in the folders that fail seem to be those that don't have the proper podcast artwork displaying.  They worked OK on the old computer like that though.  Could the artwork be stored in a strange ACL that is not getting copied properly due to a bug in Mavericks MacOS X 10.9.2.  There are many threads concerned with such "Error code -36" fails when doing SMB copies, but in target disk mode, I had assumed Mavericks would be doing native Mac copies.  Are native Mac copies (e.g. via firewire or thunderbolt) now smb copies?

  • Unable to copy recent purchase to iPad

Strange one, running IOS5 & IOS 5.01, Lion 10.7.2, iTunes 10.5. (iPad 2, iPhone 4) I have quite a large library of downloads, I manually copy content to the devices. I am unable to now copy recent purchases (within the last week.) to the iPhone or iPad and get the error not authorized please authorize the computer. The strange thing is items that are older than a week copy fine and play fine. (I've rebooted everything.) Tried playing the files first on the iTunes (Which all play fine.) and de-authorized the Mac and re-authorized.

Same exact problem with me.  iPad 1 and 2 and 3GS iPhone.  Bought Cars 2.  Can play on MacPro and stream to other Macs and Apple TV.  Can't copy to any mobile device, manual or syncing.  Tried deauthorizing all computers, etc.....

  • HT1751 unable to copy iTunes folder from mac to external hard drive, says hard drive can't be modified

when attempting to copy itunes folder to external hard drive, response is unable to copy file, hard drive can't be modified. What does that mean and how to I use external HD to transfer itunes library to new PC?

The drive is probably formated as NTFS, and your Mac doesn't have an NTFS write driver installed. Why not transfer the folder over your network?

  • TS1424 Unable to copy song purchased from Itunes to Ipod because the file could not be converted? Tried converting it to an AAC version and I get "an unknown error occurred -3!"

I am hoping that someone out there can help me to transfer two songs I purchased on Itune~ loaded into my Itunes account fine~ but won't let me copy the song into my Ipod??? Many thanks in advance!!!

Is the new PC running XP as well, Chalotte?
If so, I might start with the following document (your error message is a possible symptom of the issue too):

  • How do I copy iTunes purchases from one iTunes library to another stored on the same computer but with different apple ID's?

I recently set up a new iTunes account for my son by giving him his own Apple ID & own login on the Mac we own.
In addition I have an existing iTunes account with a different Apple ID & different login on the same Mac.
We would like to share some purchases but do not know how to copy or import certain files. The summary is two
different apple ID's, different iTunes libraries, on the same computer, but different parts of the hard drive.
    Please advise. Thanks.

Load the library which doesn't contain the songs and drag them into the open iTunes application window. If you need to move them between different computer user accounts, put them into /Users/Shared/.

  • Unable to have iTunes purchases sync to iPod

I'm fairly new to iTunes, and started buying a few songs and an audiobook through iTunes. When I first purchased them they were on my iPod, but today when I try to charge my iPod to the computer I get the following error message:
"Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "Nothing at All", were not copied to the iPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer."
Has anyone encountered this before? Why does this happen? And how can I get my purchases on my iPod? I have tried the five "R"s to no avail.
Thank in advance for your help!

In itunes top menu click on store. Under store it says authorize this computer. Authorize your account to play songs on your computer. If your computer is already authorized, deauthorize it and authorize it again.
here is the link for some help.

  • Unable to sync iTunes purchases to IOS devices from Macbook

So Apple sells ebooks and audio books through iTunes to people on their Macbooks. RIght? And when you go to sync these purchases to the Apple IOS devices you are told that you can not sync them to the Apple IOS device without erasing all of the rest of your music library on the same IOS device. Right?
I have to stop right here because thoughts of "class action",  of feeling having been defruaded, of having been taken for a ride. If I had nown before I bought my iPhone 4s that I would have to purchase all kinds of third party help to make it work only seemingly correct I would have never bought one. If I knew that when Jobs died this was going to happen I would have sold my Macbook right then and there. Tsk Tsk Tsk Mr Cook. So is Apple going to drive 10 hours from the nearest Apple Store to me and hand me a new Macbook without all of the bugs? Will that make me happy? No.

"So Apple sells ebooks and audio books through iTunes to people on their Macbooks. RIght?"
    Yes.
"And when you go to sync these purchases to the Apple IOS devices you are told that you can not sync them to the Apple IOS device without erasing all of the rest of your music library on the same IOS device. Right?"
    No.  Not right.

  • Unable to copy iTunes folder to external WD My Book drive

No idea what's going on here. If I attempt to copy my iTunes folder to an external HD it fails with the error message
"The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient priviledges for some of the items"
If I attempt to copy a single (artist) folder it fails with the same message after creating the destination folder (though empty)
If I manually copy the contents (songs) of a folder from the iMac to the destination folder on the HD it works.
Any ideas ? I have Read/Write permissions on the source, the target drive is a 750Gb WD My Book formatted as FAT under OSX. I even ran Repair Permissions on the iMac drive

If that works, then my guess is that the iTunes folder and its sub-folders probably have some sort of a permissions limitation placed on them, probably an Access Control List. Try doing a "list really long with every option known to man" on the iTunes folder and various sub-folders. Start with the iTunes folder itself:
    ls -alO@e ~/Music/iTunes
Hit return and let's see what it says. If your iTunes folder is in the default location inside your home Music folder you can just copy and paste the command. Since you have managed to copy the stuff using Rsyncx you may not want to bother, as tracking this stuff down can be tedious.

  • Copying iTunes to DVD

Can I copy iTunes to a DVD?
Primary purpose would be to backup my iTunes.
If so, could I then copy them back to my computer and/or iPod?
Am told you can use DVDs to backup virtually anything on a computer. Haven't burned a DVD yet, so this will be my first attempt. Just how much material does a DVD hold? As compared to a CD?
    Thanks

    Shadloon,
Very helpful. But a couple more questions.
Intent is to copy "tunes" not the iTunes application. But I don't know what the difference is between a "single" layered versus a "dual" layered DVD.
I would be copying and burning a DVD from my iMac, which has the capability of burning DVDs. But can I burn both a "single" layered and "dual" layered DVD. Is there any type of DVD I should buy?
And finally, once tunes are on the DVD, I am presuming they could be transported back to my computer...or any other computer...for that matter. Am I correct in this? If a tune goes to the DVD from my Mac, could it then be copied onto a PC?
(I am aware of the ITunes limitations regarding the number of times one can copy a tune purchased through the iTunes store.)
There are two reasons why I want to do this:
    1) to back up my iTunes; and
    2) to share some of the tunes I have with my daughter...who has iTunes and an iPod...but PC, not Mac.
    thanks a million

  • Problem syncing non itunes purchased songs to itunes from ipad

How can I get music from my ipad NOT purchased in the itunes store to sync to my computer? iTunes won't allow non iTunes purchased mp3s to transfer.

You can only copy iTunes purchased songs back from your iPad (or other iOS device). If the songs are not already on your computer, and you havn't got a backup of your content on, for exampe, external drives or CDs/DVDs that you can copy onot your computer, then you will need to do a search on the internet to see if there are any third-party programs that can copy them back.

it's been a while that Im unable to copy music from itunes to my iphone. I updated my device to the latest version of IOS 5.1.1 and made sure no jailbreak is installed but still not working. please assist.

Assuming you are not manually managing your music, verify the following:
You are using the latest version of iTunes
On the summary tab of your iTunes sync settings you have checked "Sync only checked songs and videos"
In your music library you have checked all the songs you want to sync to your phone
There are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
You have authorized your computer for all Apple IDs for purchased music you want to sync to your phone (in Store>Authorize this computer)
You have checked "Sync Music" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings
When everything looks correct, sync your phone.
