Unable to create a new playlist on Itunes when in "On My IPhone " mode. New playlist shows as greyed out. Why?
Before the recent update on Itunes, I was able to create new playlists and drag music diretly into saved playlist folders from my laptop. Now, I can't do either because when in the what's on " my Iphone" mode, trying to creat a playlist is impossible because it is greyed out. I can no longer drag and drop music into saved playlist showing on my phone. What's going on Apple? or anyone.

Thanks for this suggestion, but I have already tried that. The only way for me to boot my mac is by starting in single user mode and mounting the drive, then exiting from there. Nothing else will work, I cannot press Command-R, so this will not work.

I have ended up buying a Flash Drive, and will now download the Mountain Lion installer. I assume that I will be able to boot from this, and then use Disk Utility to format the drive, and later on install Mac OSX Mountain Lion on it?

I have an .ipa file that is legit and "signed" (at least I think so) but for some reason will not work on any device. I basically drag the .ipa file into itunes app section and it will show there as a working app.
I select the button that says "install" so that when it syncs it puts it on my ipad or iphone. Once I move over to the iphone or ipad the icon is greyed out with the words waiting or installing under the icon.
Waiting for a half a day at one point before I finally gave up and deleted it from my devices.
Can someone point me in a direction as to what I might be doing wrong? The only thing I can think is that its' not io7.1 compatable but that is all I got.

PaulI am assuming you where generating the .ipa file using a UniversalDistribution Provisioning Profile with an iOS Developer Enterprise Account. If so I had the same problem - turned out it was a Certificate issue - what worked for me was when creating the Certificate which I did manually using Keychain Access I left the Common Name field blank and the .ipa installed properly on my devices. Hope this helps.

I cannot get my iPhone3 to sync playlists. If I create the play list on my iPhone, when I sync the playlist is deleted. If I create te playlist on iTunes, when I sync, it will not transfer to my iPhone. Help!

i transfered my music into my new mac into itunes media folder from an external, but it dosnt show in itunes. I have to click on each one to activate it on itunes. there has to be a better and easier solution. help
Thank you for your prompt response - I did as you said and did a drag and drop into the iTunes window - it imported and got my album art from the net. When I started Itunes with the shift key down I was prompted to choose a library but since I copied over the media folder and not the library folder I was unable to select that so I guess I will have to create a new library and add in all the music, videos, etc. unless I wait for my laptop and export the library or at least that seems to be the case? In short, all my data (iTunes media folder) is on my external drive and can be added to the blank iTunes screen but I can not choose a library folder. Is there anyway around completely making all those playlists again? I am not sure my laptop will survive the shop with data intact and really hate to start over on those.
In an unrelated question - I collect old TV shows from the 1950's. Can I make playlists within the home video folder somehow? In other words like one for Quiz shows, one for comedies, one for police and detective shows, etc. while I am remaking all my playlists for my music if I end up having to go that route?

The actual issue begins when i start syncing my apps, it asks to authorise the computer, that would never happen, kepps on accessing itunes forever !!!!!!!!!!
Note: After i erase when i connected my phone to itunes i choose the option set up a new phone because i did not want to restore and get old setings in my phone!!! Kindly help!!!Do you have the latest version of iTunes?
Was your computer ever used to hack or jailbreak any Apple product? If so the software you used corrupted your computer's network database. You will have to correct the problem in your Hosts file.

why since i have upgraded iphone to io7 and upgraded itunes to the latest version that when i sync my iphone 5 with playlists the playlist are emplty yet the content still resides in itunes thgis is ******* me off as i have to use a playlist tomorrow

When I opened my iTunes today, I tried to listen to my songs, but whenever I clicked enter or double clicked the song, it wouldn't play, instead, it would play a song near it. So I tried my whole playlist and most of the songs aren't working! They're not greyed out, they've just stopped playing. I'm not sure why. I've recently downloaded AVG Tuneup by accident, and I've been getting all these weird messages coming from my computer saying I've got corrupted files, so I uninstalled that program ASAP. There are a few things that you can do to stops the songs from skipping. What it may be is that the files are not working properly so try converting the song to a different format and test that new song. Since you are using iTunes Match, then you can actually delete the tracks and then download them again. Let me know if you this works out for you.

i updated my iphone and lost all my notes there is lots of important notes, how can i get em back especially that on itunes when i sync my iphone a note appear that there is no back up on icloud,and i cannot restore?
Without a backup on iCloud, there needs to be another device using the same @icloud address that is syncing to the notes. Without that, there is no way to go back in time to create a backup before performing a major update.

I recently dropped my ipad and had to get a new one. I backed up the first I pad and used the icloud to reload all my data on my new ipad. Now when I go to backup the new ipad it says I cannot because I don't have enough ICloud storage available.
If you can't get the password correct, you CANNOT restore from that backup.
However, if you've been using your phone as recommended by Apple, there should be minimal data loss.
Your iTunes library is on your computer, so you can synch all your apps, music, movies, ringtones, etc, on to your new phone.
Similarly, contacts should be synched to Address Book, Outlook, or a cloud service for you to easily synch back to your new phone.
Pictures taken from your old phone and not synched to your computer are lost, but you would have been synching those photos to your computer frequently as recommended. Other photos that you synch TO your iPhone are still on your computer.
You won't be able to get text messages back. -

About a month ago my wifi switch greyed out. I went through all the trouble shooting and ended up going to the Genius Bar and got a new iPhone 4S. Now the switch greyed out on the new one.. help!

You can reduce the size to normal, which is about 1GB, by restoring the phone.
