Unable to create a new project
I am receiving an error when trying to create a new project in iMovie. I have plenty of space on my MacBook. Any ideas?

WOW, that tip solved my problems. I am normaly logged in in Windows under the username Bj�rn (o with two dots). I created a new user with the name Bjorn and logged in. Now I can start the Java Studio Creator and create new projects with no problems.
Evidently it is not enough to change the project directory to a folder that not contains any multi-byte characters. The Studio have quite a lot of information stored in the folder Documents and Settings\username and that can not be reaced if the username contains non-English characters. I have not run in to this problem with any other system.

Project Library panel blank, unable to create a new project
As it says. Using iMovie 08, my Project Library panel is blank, even if I start the program by double-clicking an existing project in the finder. If I choose to create a new project, it gives me the options (choose aspect ratio, enter name), but no project appears in the Library.
The program has worked in the past. I've tried deleting the iMovie app and re-installing to no avail.Okay, finally fixed this. After viewing the log in the Console application when opening iMovie, it identified an iMovie data file located on an external HD as being a problem:
CFPropertyListCreateFromXMLData(): plist parse failed; the data is not proper UTF-8. The file name for this data could be:
/Volumes/Daddy's HD/iMovie Events.localized/PatrickStuff120307/iMovie Data
The parser will retry as in 10.2, but the problem should be corrected in the plist.
I'm not sure exactly what this means, but sending that file to the trash fixed the problem and the Project Library is functioning normally now. -
Unable to create a new project for MUDE

I'm trying to create a project for MUDE but the new project option is not enabled is there something else I need to do before creating a project?

Unable to import .doc or PDF documents to create a new project
When trying to import a WORD document into RH 6.0 to create a
new project, I am only able to proceed up to the Improt Word
Document Wizard dialog "Covnersion Options". Clicking Next leads
the program to start the import, however after a few seconds I get
a message telling me that MS Word seems to not be responding.
I alsow am unable to import PDF files. Here RH claims that
the file type is is not supported or that the file is corrupted.
I would really appreciate if somebody could explain to me
what the problem is and how to troubleshoot it.

IMovie crashed and will not create a new project
I was in the middle of working on a project and when I went to add a clip, it said something along the lines that I couldn't put it there and then closed the program. When I was able to open it back up, I tried working on it but it couldn't find the clips, and later on the actual projects. Now, I am unable to even create a new project.
It is actually on a MacBook not on Windows 7

Error when creating a new project in sharepoint
I am getting this error "Failed to create site. A duplicate field name "workflow_history" was found" when I am creating a new project on share point.
Can someone help me identify and fix this issue exactly.Check if below helps

When I go to create a new project in imovie using the iPhone 5, I am not able to see any of my video clips or photos that are saved on the device.
When you move or copy the compound clips with their events into an external drive all the events should be there. Not clear on why you want to move them into a single event. You can drag and drop from one event to another.
Why are you using compound clips? You can simply copy the project from each machine with used media onto the external drive and that should do it. -
Problems creating a new project
I just installed Creator 2.1 on a Fedora Core 4 workstation. It installed with no problems, but when I go to create a new project the wizard hangs after pressing finish. The only thing that is created is WebApplication1/nbproject/project.xml. The following is what was placed in the log.

I just pushed the "Finish" button when it came up. After re-installing as root and my user I realized thet the last dialog said "Application Server could not be installed correctly. The following RPM packages need to be installed: compat-libstdc++, compat-libstdc++-devel"
I had compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-47installed.
I installed compat-libstdc++-296-2.96-132.
Afterwards I installed Creator under "root" without an error, and I was able to create a new project.
I hope this help some others. I saw several posts concerning Fedora.

Creating a new project with custom fields using web services
I've been trying unsuccessfully for the last week or so to successfully create a new project from web services and I believe the main problem that I've been running into is that one of the required fields is a custom field. I've tried creating the Project
in a couple of different ways and haven't had any success up to this point, so any help would be appreciated. I've tried creating it with both a REST call to /_api/ProjectServer/Projects and a SOAP call to /_vti_bin/PSI/Project.asmx. Below are the best shots

You can create the fields that are project specifc & you can create fields that apply to all projects but have specific options for projects. Your goal is to create fields that are specific to each project, but right now you get all fields from you old project - is this correct?
From your description below it appears that the fields in your original project are marked as applied to all projects & hence when you create a new project they are inherited. If you mark those fields as applied to certain project & then create a new project those fields will not be inherited.
But you are right in the sense that it is limiting that there is no multi-select for "applies to" field. -

I am unable to create a new folder on either of my auxillary disk drives. I can access the files and folders that were there when I transferred one of the drives from a PC. Time machine uses one for backup and I want to use the other to store photos which are large files. An help would be appreciated.
Thanks for the reply. If I reformat the drive will I be able to access the files on it from the MAC. I do not share the drive with a PC. The files were originally created on a PC which I no longer use. I do want to continue to access the files put there by the PC. I would like to not have to copy them over to the MAC hard drive just to use them. The second aux drive is new and works fine because it was formatted by the MAC. I can drag and drop files there and work with just as if they were on the internal drive.

I am unable to create a new event on my iPhone with IOS 7.0.4. I tap the plus sign, fill in the details, tape Done and ... nothing. Repeatedly. No problem on my iMac or iPad, just with the phone. Help.
Assuming you're creating this event to place in your calendar, and assuming this calendar is shared with your iMac and iPad using iCloud, might the calendar be restricted on your iPhone?

Creating a new project in 24p: 24p conversion method
Good morning,
I have created a new project from scratch in 24p. I ensured that my settings were for appropriate to my configuration, i.e. DLSR 24p and more.
Everything displays that I am now working, per the below in 24p 1920 x 1080 on my info screen. Cool.
However, when I set up my new sequence defaults I get this slightly confusing checkbox option displayed below for my playback settings:
Is it true that the "24p conversion method" referred to in my playback settings within the sequence defaults refers to how any interlaced video I have will be converted into the 24p format?

No, it dictates how 24p material will be displayed on a standard 29.97 playback device, such as a television or monitor that is displaying your Program Monitor output via a 1394 (aka FireWire) device. It's only for external monitoring; it has no effect on internal (that is, in the Program Monitor) playback.
The bottom line is that, unless you're using a connected DV device and monitor, you can ignore this setting. -
Creating a new project in imovie '09
Good afternoon.
When a user creates a new project in iMovie '09 it gets put into the user's Movies folder. This is fine on a stand-alone, but with Network Home Directories it's not, because of the bandwidth needed to transfer files across our network. Is there any way for the user to decide where their new project is to be stored please?

New Zealand.I also successfully created a still frame to a new project I created for this purpose.
Move to a frame in your EVENT, control left-click and select "Add Still frame to project" from the pop-up menue. It will be added at the END of your selected project.
After that, I am still trying to find a way to save that still to iPhoto'09 as a photo. -
'serious error' when creating a new project in adobe premiere elements 10
Hello,
I saw similar questions on the forums but not quite what is happening with me.
First off I should say i've never had this working however the copy of premiere elements 7 we had worked perfectly fine. I am a technician in a school and i'm trying to install the software for the students (we have lots of lisences). The software appears to install perfectly fine and the launcher works. I click to create a new project (or open an old one) premiere appears to load up correctly. It only crashes once I click to browse for a location to save the file.
The error message says, as i've noticed seems to be a generic message for any error on premiere: "Sorry, A serious error has occured that has caused Adobe Premiere Elements to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project"
At first I thought this was student user rights (as students do not have access to C:\) however I have since tried it with my own admin account which has full rights and effectively should be able to do anything and it still continues to crash.
