Unable to create a system partition

I'm attempting to install Win7 via Boot Camp under OS X 10.9.
I've created a 40 Gb partition, and the windows install disk loads and successfully formats the partition for NTFS.
However, it then returns the message "Windows was unable to create or locate an existing system partition"
Any suggestions?

Bootcamp did it. Problem was fixed by unplugging all external drives.

I try to install it, but i select my free (fresh formated) partition with 35GB free space and i see:

Is this 8MB "Boot" partition (formatted as FAT???) something you created when you partitioned this disk for the Windows XP installation, or is this an 8MB OEM partition that you've somehow assigned drive letter C: to?
I wouldn't be surprised at all that your error message is being generated because thsi "BOOT" partition, labelled as drive C:, is only 8MB in size, and you can be absolutely positive that an 8MB partition is going to generate this error: "Setup was unable to use existing system partition because it does not contain the required free space."
The correct answer really depends on whether that drive C: is the boot (sic) (the proper terminology is to call it the system partition) partition for the Windows XP installation. If it is, then you're going to have some repair work to do on your Windows XP installation first, so that you can free up that 8MB partition.
In any event, I'm fairly certain that the solution is going to require the removal of that 8MB partition, as you've suggested in your most recent post.

Unable to create a system in SMSY

Hi Experts,
I am facing a problem to create a system in SMSY transaction.Currently we are using Solution manger 7.0 EHP1 SP19.
When am trying to create a system in SMSY all the required feilds got enabled except installation number.The installation number field got disabled.So,that we are unable to move forward.
Please sugget me..

Hi,
First create the 3 RFC required with satellite then you can run the following wizard to fetch the details
https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000894082006E.sim
Later you can fetch the rest details goto landscape components system then on the right side
by clicking refresh Read System Data Remote button.

SAP* or DDIC being unable to create logical system in SAP PI 7.1

greetings !
I am not a basis person.
I had freshly installed PI 7.1. I was finding that I am being unable to create new logical systems . I tried logging to both clients 000 and 001 using sap* , ddic , and pisuper . pisuper does not even have the authorization to execute SALE . SAP* and DDIC can excecute SALE but unable to create or assign clients.
I reinstalled my system from scratch thinking i must have errored on something, as creating clients is a very simple task. but even the new PI 7.1 gives me the same problem.
is something wrong with my installation , or there are additional roles/authrizations I need to assign to a user.

Besides PISUPER other users are also created some of the are PIAFUSER, PIDIRUSER, PIRWBUSER etc. Every user has a specific purpose in a PI system. For activities like creating logical system etc. own id's should be used.
There are couple of guides out there which explains in detail the purpose of all the users in PI system.

Unable to create Business System with role Integration Server

we are unable to create a BS with role of integration server, its throwing error with internal server 500.

Hi Kesava,
what is the purpose of creating a business system of type IS? This is automatically done in the post installation by CTC templates. So if the post installation is successfully executed, this should already be there. And if not you should check if the post installation was properly executed and if there where problems analyse why they occured.
The creation of the BS is just one part of the game, so I would highly recommend to execute the hole post configuration via template or follow the help.sap.com and execute it step by step manually in the described order. Otherwise i guess this will not work.

Unable to create File System Repository manager

I would like to create File System Repository manager to this path: I have mapped a certain Network drive "
main-uni-fs1\pictures$" to the Portal Machine and under this machine it appears as drive "N:\", inside it there is a picture folder which I would like to create the mapping to. I tried setting the "Root Directory" value to "N:\" and to "
main-uni-fs1\pictures$" but I keep receiving an error message at the Repository Component Monitor (see below).

Under Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Global Services -> Network path
Under the user name and password, enter your username and password
username whould be entered like domainname\username
2>Then create a system in for the mypc.myorg.com server under
Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Global Services -> System landscape definitions -> System -> Windows Sytem.
(Assuming u are acessing a windows sytem from a portal running on windows platform).
You need to enter system id and description . Kindly remember the system id, since it would be useful in two places while usermapping and creating the file system repository.

Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Repository Managers > File System Repository
Following properties are most important.
Name , ACL manager cache, Security manager(which you would have to set to W2kSecurity manager)
prefix(this is the folder name that you will identify your repository with) Widws landscape System (this is the sytem id of step 2) and root directory (network path of first step only in this case enter it like this //mypc.myorg.com/pictures)
4>Then under user mapping section, you will find you system (the system id of second step) , enter your name as password.
Initially when you configure your rep manager, you dont need to start ur servlet engine. If you modify any property then you need to re start ur servlet engine.
These are the steps for creating repository
If this still does not get resolved. Then kindly read the limitations of creating the file system repository manager in the link that I had posted in my earlier post.

Unable to create File System Repository using Network Path

Hi All,
I am trying to create a File System Repository.
I created a networkpath and windows system and used the same while creating File Repository according to the steps in help.
With out using Networkpath(i.e.,If I use IP address,I am able to create File System Repository).
But with the network path,it throws the following error as seen in Component Monitor.
Startup Error: The localroot does not exist: C:\usr\sap\IGTE\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\NWP_001
My network path is NWP_001

Did any one face this problem?

I am getting the same error even if I replace(\) by slashes(/).
I tried on EP6SP12 as well as EP6SP2 and got the same error on both.
The repository is searching for a folder named with
n/w path on the portal server itself(i.e, it is searching in the following folder
C:\usr\sap\IGTE\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\NWP_001
My network path is NWP_001),instead of searching on the remote system.
Can any one help me in solving the problem

Unable to Create Source system in RSA1

I have installed a BI Server(Netweaver 2004s). When i try to add source system in RSA1, it gives an error "No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN available"
Let me tell what all i tried.
1) i clicked on settings>global settings- it gives a blank page. when i switch it to change mode, there is a button called "Position" and then "Entry1 of 2". I cant enter any value there and when i click on "Position" button, it says "Table RSADMINAV has no relevant fields"
2) In se16 tried to maintain RSADMINA table and for BW User field, i gave BW_USER, but there is no "execute" Button. all i see is "Reset" button. i tried pressing F8 key, it wont do anything. I clicked on save but it says "the entry is already exist"
Regarding RFC - i created a user BW_USER in ERP Sytem and ERP_USER in BI server and both the user type are System user.
From both the server i tried to do Connection test and i am not getting any error. but if i try clicking Remote Connection, it wont connect and wont do anything and no Errors.
Please help me Resolving this Issue, Since it became a very critical issue.

Can you check if there is any other user ID specified in "BW user for ALE".
To check, Go to transaction RSA1 --> Settings --> Global Settings.
If you find a different user id there, then specify the correct BW user id there.
Please refer to OSS Note 410952 for details.

Unable to create webservice system!!!

Hi Friends,
I am using SAP NetWeaver 2004s Visual Composer SP 08.
My problem is, No matter whatever WSDL url i give to create the WebService System in the VC its throwing me the error 'Invalid Web Service URL: http://ws.invesbot.com/stockquotes.asmx?WSDL'
I have given as below:
New System name : invesbot
New System alias: invesbot
Web Service URL: http://ws.invesbot.com/stockquotes.asmx?WSDL
I am really clueless to know whats wrong in the WSDL URL. When i give the above WSDL url on the browser it shows the XML details.
Is there anything else i should do for the Web Service URL?????

I tried to create webservice using the URL you've given and it worked on my system (fyi: I am using sneak preview)
Just for counter checking, can u able to try creating webservice for the following URL?. This is an example provided in the VC help docs.

Name the system CurrencyConverter and give it the alias Converter

Unable to create Source system

While creating source sytem in BW i am getting below error
*You have no authorization for basic types (activity 01)*
Target system is CRM , Client is opened , security people are saying they have give all authorization .

Hi Vamsi,
From the error message, its clearing saying about missing authorization. Hence please check the authorization in BI system for the ID with which you are creating the source system connection and also check the authorization of RFC user which you have defined in RFC of both BI and CRM system.
For RFC user better you assign SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW

Unable to Create Source System under 'SAP'

We are on BI 7.0 and I am trying to create an R/3 Logical System (RSA1 - Source Systems - SAP - Create...)
But everytime I try to do that logical system is getting created under 'BI' folder (instead of 'SAP' folder). Do you know why this could happen?

Hi SDNBI,
I have stumbled across the same phenomenon. Netweaver contains BI and ERP. When in the specific ERP system you want to create under the SAP folder you have in the past used the RSA1 transaction then the system thinks that this system should belong to BI folder. Hence it places that in BI folder. On the other hand when you have not executed RSA1 in the system you want to create then it should place it normally under the SAP folder because in that case it doesnt relate it to BI.

Unable to create default directory partitions

I have an SBS2011 server and whilst trying to troubleshoot some ActiveSync issues I stumbled across a DNS problem. So in the process of trying to sort that I removed the default application partitions for DNS.
Now I've spent the last two days trying every guide under the sun and trawling forums trying to get them re-created to no avail :-(
It fails every time with DNS_ERROR_DP_FSMO_ERROR 9906 0x26B2, but I've confirmed all FSMO roles are being held by SBS server.
I've got a funny feeling my AD (NTDS.dat) may be corrupt :-(

Were you using the ADSIEdit tool? or another similar LDAP editor? if so then i believe this may be one of those cases where you are going to have to re-install windows.

MBAM 2.5 - Does it create system partition 'automatically' ?

Hi All,
Installed MBAM 2.5 today and deployed and is working fine from what i can see. Deployed the client to a couple machines and it started encrypting.
One machine took a bit of time to get going and it think maybe it was because it never had a system partition available, i created one and logged back in with a domain account and it all started to work.
Now this got me thinking afterwards - I think the other machines i was testing on never had a system partition either before i put the agent on.
So my questions is does MBAM 2.5 automatically create the system partition if the hard disk consists of only a single partition.

Unable to Define Business System in SLD.

Hi All,
We configured SLD host on EPDEV system (EP System based on Only Web as Java).
We have diffrent system for PI. At the time of PI installation I mentioned SLD Host as EP system.
In PI am facing some problem while executing SLDCHECK, output as "No Business System defined for PI Technical system"
In EP SLD HOST, By using wizard I am trying to add PI as a technical system, In in first step, I selected Web as ABAP, after that next two steps its ok, In Installed product step, I added installed pucts and saved then it giving me error of "CIM_ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS".
Then I canceled the wizard and came on main screen, I found two technical systems for PI SID as below.
1. PI Web as ABAP
2. PI Web as Java
I checked the installed products for both PI Technical Systems then I found,
1. PI Web as ABAP there is no installed product and when I tried to add new Installed product then itu2019s again showing the same CIM_ERROR.
2. PI Web as Java its showing all installed products for Java, so I am able to create business system for this technical system.
But I am unable to create busyness system for PI Web as ABAP system because no installed products in the list.
So can you please tell me how to resolve this problem. I tried to delete all PI technical systems and recreate ones again. It gets delete but at the time of recreation again the same CIM error I am getting.
Is this problem because of my EP is only based on Java??
Can I switch SLD HOST to my PI system as this is ABAP+JAVA? If possible its no big problem for me because its new implementation and only PI DEV and EP DEV two systems are there in this SLD group.

You need to import SLD with latest cimsap & cr content to reflect ABAP & JAva systems provided by SAP....

You can have SLD on EP or XI.. Technically it donse't matter. But as PI relies heavily on SLD, i would recommend the SLD to be moved to PI & EP sytem pointing to PI-SLD..
