Unable to create Business Layer on top of SAP BW OLAP Connection - BI 4.0

Friends,
Need an useful information, why can't we create a business layer on top of SAP BW OLAP connection which is built with BICS driver.
Today when i tried to create a business layer in IDT tool of BI 4.0 it didnt allow me to do so. Is it a s/w bug or am i following a wrong approach. I do know, we can create a .unx universe through relational connection. But i dont want that, please provide your input.

Hi,
this question has been asked many times before, so a search will reveal your answer.
as the warning told you when you tried the workflow in IDT - business layers aren't supported for Bics connections - i.e. you can't create a UNX ontop of Bex using BICS..
unfrotunately, it was a strategic product decision that seemingly can't be reversed/influenced, despite the inherent problems this causes.

Unable to create Business Foundation Layer in XI4 IDT using OLAP connection

Hi,
I have created a BICS connection against an SAP BW cube and want to use this connection in order to build a Business Layer in XI4 Information Design Tool. When I try to map this connection to the business layer, it errors out "Error occurred during connection selection - Connection is not supported".
I'm currently using BO XI4 SP1 and SAP BI NW Eh1 SP6.
Can anyone throw some light on how to create a Business Layer/Universe against an SAP BW cube?
Also, can we query ECC systems using the new semantic layer in XI4 from WebI?

Unable to create Business Place

Hi Experts,
I am unable to create Business Place in my Ides Server. when i follow the path Fin Acctg-Fin Acctg Global SettingWTax-Extended W Tax-Basic Settings-India-Define Business Place.
Here i get the selection screen as Company Code Section Code Name 1 which should had been Company Code Business Place TAN Number.
Please provide inputs how do i get this done.

If you want to create Business Place then maintain view J_1BBRANCV using transaction SM30.
To create section code maintaining view J_1I_SECCODE using transaction SM30...
Note
Now Business Place is no longer used in Withholding Tax which has been replaced by Section Code.

Unable to create Business Partner in CRM

Hi I am unable to Create a Business Partner (BP)in CRM though I could see that the INBOUND IDOC ( Msg type : CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M ) is getting posted.I created the IDOC through the test transaction (we19).Also i dont have any data to give in the field PARTNER_GUID without which the IDOC was failing.So i took an existing value from the table BUT000 and used it and it posted successfully but still the BP is not getting created in the system.Request you to pls suggest a solution..

You dont have to populate BP IDOC with partner guid.System generates partner GUID whenever BP is created.
Try to create a BP without populating guid.

Unable to create Business System with role Integration Server

hi Experts,
we are unable to create a BS with role of integration server, its throwing error with internal server 500.
please advise. we do not have any issues while creating TS with role of WEBASABAP.

Hi Kesava,
what is the purpose of creating a business system of type IS? This is automatically done in the post installation by CTC templates. So if the post installation is successfully executed, this should already be there. And if not you should check if the post installation was properly executed and if there where problems analyse why they occured.
The creation of the BS is just one part of the game, so I would highly recommend to execute the hole post configuration via template or follow the help.sap.com and execute it step by step manually in the described order. Otherwise i guess this will not work.
If there where just problems with SLD - please also have a look at SA Note 1117249 - Incomplete Registration of PI components in SLD

Unable to create Business logic Callable Object

Hi All,
We are working on CE 7.1 SDN trial version.
while creating Business Logic Callble object, it is giving an error: Error while loading configuration dialog: Failed to create delegate for component com.sap.caf.eu.gp.ui.co.CExpConfig. (Hint: Is the corresponding DC deployed correctly? Does the DC contain the component?)
Waht is the problem?.

Create new dimension on top of SAP BW data

Hi expert,
I'm having a problem to create a new dimension on top on SAP BW data. I have a dimension details object called 'L01 G/L Account Key'. When I drag this object to the result object in the web intelligence, it display full data like '1000/30100'. How can I trim the data so it shows '30100'?.Is there any formula that support in universe?
I don't want to do the formula inside the web intelligence report because I want to use this dimension to other reports as well.
Please expert....help me!

Hi,
SAP BW MDX does not support calculations that return string or date: this is a limitation of SAP BW OLAP engine.
By the way I found exceptions that satisfy your requirement.
For instance you can manipulate a substring of a dimension only with NAME and UNIQUENAME attributes.
Example, you can use these expressions:
<EXPRESSION>right([OD_COUNTRY].currentmember.name, 4)</EXPRESSION>
<EXPRESSION>right([OD_COUNTRY].currentmember.uniquename, 4)</EXPRESSION>
<EXPRESSION>left([OD_COUNTRY].currentmember.name, 4)</EXPRESSION>
<EXPRESSION>left([OD_COUNTRY].currentmember.uniquename, 4)</EXPRESSION>

Unable to create business rule in composite.xml

When I am trying to create a business rule in composite.xml I am getting the error as shown below:
java.lang.Exception: An attempt to add a schema to the schema browser failed!
Please make sure schemas are in the appropiate directories.

Make sure there are no exceptions in the schema which you are using for defining the structure of Business Rule facts and try it again

Unable to create Business View in BO 3.1

Hi All,
I have the issue as mentioned below
u2022               We are migrating from BusinessObjects XI R2 to BusinessObjects 3.1
u2022     We can open the Business view manager and able to create Data connection, Data foundation, and Business element.
u2022     When tried to create a new Business view nothing happens, no prompt appears to create a new Business View.
u2022     Existing Business Views can be opened and edited.
I came to know that it is a known issue and a TE has been raised for the same with TE ID 5000039631.
Is it possible to know the progess on this TE and when this issue will get fixed?

change it by going SWCV edit mode and under "Use of Interface Objects" select Netweaver 7.1" instead of "Netweaver 7.0"
Did the above setting work for you? The SAP PI7.1 system that I am having is already maintaining the above setting but getting the same warning message that Kasturika is getting.....there seem to be something more than the above suggestion

Unable to create a layer

I am using CS5 which I have just bought.
When I try to use layers I can open my first photo as the background which is fine.
I then open a new layer, and my second photo. However instead of opening as a new layer it defaults as the background, replacing the original background.
I cannot copy or paste the new photos onto the "background."
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to cure it.
I am working in Windows 7

Thank you for your help, however I am still struggling.
I have opened the background, clicked "new layer" which brings up layer 1 in the panel down rhs above background.
I then opened a second picture to be layer 1 but this becomes the background and layer 1 disappears.
I double clicked on the name background which brought up the "New Layer" panel.
I clicked ok and the picture became Layer 0.
The background picture has completely gone, and the only panel down the panel down the rhs is Layer 0.
Across the top the background and the second picture are listed but the background is now named as Layer 1.
If I click on either of the photos they open in the main panel but I cannot open them together, and nor do they show down the rhs list.
I have had no problems in the previous versions I have used and can only imagine I have the incorrect settings somewhere but have no idea where to look.
Can anyone help me ............ PLEASE !

Unable to create Business Partner - Organization and Group

I am learning SAP CRM, I am working on version 5.0. I am not able to create BP in Org and Group, but I am able to create the person. I made few changes in BP role, since then I am not able to create BP in Org and Group...these both are deactivated...
Plz help me...

Check the roles that are not hidden.
Are the categories Org and Group assigned to them?
To do so, the path is IMG>Cross-Application Components> SAP Business Partner--> Business Partner > Basic Settings> Business Partner Roles-->Define BP Roles
Here choose the option BP Role categories, now double click on the role you will see if it is permitted with the categories Org and Group.
Incase you done have the Org or Group checked for your visible BP Roles, it will not permit to create Orgs and Groups. Check Org or Group category and you should be able to create BPs in these categories.

Unable to create Business Partner

Hi friends,
I am trying to create a 'Person' using the tcode BP. But i get an error saying "Application Object BUPA: Table BCS002 does not exist".
The table BCS002 exists when I checked through SE11 tcode.
Moreover I am to create using BP tcode in another client in the same server.
Can anyone help in this regards,

Problem is sloved....It was not related to Authorization...The missing table entry was to be maintained in table V_TBZ1C using SM30 tcode (In my case)

Does the Application is working only on ENU or any other language. Pls confirm.
If you are trying to test the worklfow other than ENU, this error will occur.
There are some LOV Value for "ACCESS_RESOURCE_TYPE". Please check if it exists and the Language is ENU.

Unable to create sales Order/Inquiry object using SAP JCo

Hi All,
Pls can you help me.
I am using BAPI_INQUIRY_CREATEFROMDATA2 and BAPI_Trancation_commit to create Inquiry object.From my Client JCo code there is no error.I debugged the BAPI_Trasaction_commit, there is no error, return code is 0. But th system is not creating Inquiry object. When I try the same from SAP GUI client with exactly the same input parameters it works.
Do I need to set any option/value to commit the Inquiry to the SAP database? How to maintain the same session between the different BAPI's. Is there any issue with Session maintainance? I would appreciate if you can provide me any sample SAP JCo code for creating a Sales Order/Inquiry.

Can you put the part of your code that fill the ORDER_PARTNERS table, also you could compare your coding with [Sales order creation using BAPI|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/SalesordercreationusingBAPI] in [Community Code Gallery |http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/Snippets/CommunityCodeGallery] (don't forget that there is a conversion exit on the partner role, so use internal codes "AG" and "WE")
