Unable to Create New Folder 8.1

When I right click in the file explorer I do not have the option to create a new folder, also when pressing the button I cannot make a new folder.

Have you tried to restore system back to the point before this issue happened?

Unless you have a utility that will let you R/W NTFS they as noted - reformat to a +HFS file system - aka -
Mac OS Extended (Journaled) - using Disk Utility.
The Mac OS can read/write +HFS and FAT 32 but can only read NTFS.

I checked the item and folder limits for the library and even though the library is huge it is within limits. The option is enable and the ICON is not grayed out. When I click New Folder icon nothing happens. I am able to create folders in libraries of other
sites.

Lets have these troubleshoot steps ?
What is your user permission for that library/site/collection ?
Can you create a new list / new library ?
Can you upload new document in same library
Does this happening newly created library ?
is it happening to any other subsite ?
is it happening to any other site colletion?
Did you try "new folder" from library tab from ribbon?
It is not permision issue / something else? what it is? javascript error?
did you try firefox/chrome/opera/safari?
any CEWP hidden ?

We are getting this error while trying to create new folder in UCM (even trying directly from UCM throws same error)

Has anyone experienced this? If yes, please let us know how you resolved it.

You don't "store" anything in contribution folders. They are just webdav access points. I recommend zero folders personally.
If you want to upload files using webdav, then I suggest using one staging folder, where files can enter the system. When the document is workflowed and/or verified, it is moved out of the folder. It's more likely however that you'll need a few access points for various types of content as each folder enforces specific metadata.
Now I imagine you are after a way to store all the HR bits and pieces of one person together as a unit. Some people use Content Folios. Personally, I'd just use a metadata field that contains the ContentID of the person's master record. Any new content for that person just gets the master ContentID stamped on it. Just search for that ContentID to get all their stuff.
Regarding best practices, there are lots of quality blogs floating around. Stellent/Oracle don't talk about best practice because each system is used by their clients in a unique way... well, that's what they say.

Unable to Create New Dashboards

Hi All,
Interesting issue I ran into with today and have been unable to figure out. I didn run into this same error with the same build on another machine.
I'm trying to create a new Dashboard, I've set up the RPD, updated my instanceconfig.xml and nsqconfig.ini file, and then I load up the Presentation Services. It defaults me to the "My Dashboard" dashboard, but I want to create a new one. I open up "Settings ---> Administration ---> Manage Interactive Dashboards" to try to create a new dashboard. Upon opening that link I get the message "You don't currently have access to any shared Dashboards". Now I'm logged in as the Administrator, so I have no idea why it wont give me the ability to create new dashboards, any help?

before you can create a dashboard, you must have at least one folder in Presentation Catalog to save dashboards.
So, to create a folder, go to Settings > Administration > Manage Presentation Catalog > Create New Folder

Today I am unable to create new folders on my internal drive. I changed all the permissions for the applications with "get info" and unlocking plus selecting read and write for all three categories of users. My home office is shut down.

reset home folder permissions
1. Boot OS X Recovery by restarting the computer while holding the Command (⌘) and R keys.
2. When the Repair Utilities screen appears, select Utilities from the Menu Bar, then click Terminal.
3. In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and press Return.
4. The password reset utility window will appear. Do not select a new password.
Instead, click on the icon for your Mac's hard disk at the top. From the dropdown below it, select the user account with the problem.
5. At the bottom of the window, you will see Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the Reset button. Repeat for each User account with the problem.
The reset process may take a couple of minutes. When it finishes quit the programs and restart your Mac.
Depending on exactly what you did to your Mac's permissions the above may not help. If it does not, read and follow Apple Support Communities contributor Niel's User Tip: kmosx: I accidentally set a disk's permissions to No Access

Unable to create remote folder

When I attempt to go to the data bindings on an ASP form I
have, I get the following error:

Denied
The form works fine, but I can add any new fields to the form
because I get this error when I attempt to update the field list
under server behaviors.
Any suggestions?

Does your FTP hang on all sites? Or this this the only one?
How many sites
do you have? Does it hang with all folders or only these
specific ones?
What happens if you create a new folder in the site and try
to upload that?
Such curious FTP problems in DW are almost ALWAYS the result
of an
interference from your local firewall - are you running one?

Solution.....
the contibution folders have a security group "All" and the user that im using to create a new folder was having just R permission to "All" so If you tried to create a new folder from the action list choose link folder then u will get the error that i mentiond above and i think this is the way the content server works "corrent me if im wrong" .now to solve this i gave that user a RW to the "All" security group and now he can create folders.
Note:what i discovred is that when the system folder has a security group defined then the contibuter the contributer that he want to create a new folder under it must have RW to the security group in the Contribution folders.

Nobody can tell you anything without knowing exact site and server specs, but I would suspect that naming the folder "html" wasn't the brightest of ideas, since that's usually a default (invisible) folder name existing somewhere on the server and the user not having privileges to overwrite it.

You said that it happened only on few sub sites, whether this issue occurred on some subsites, and some subsite worked well.
Please check whether there are some differences between the subsites that worked well and the problematic subsites.
Whether this issue occurred on all libraries and lists on problematic subsites.
Whether there are some customizations in these problematic libraries and lists.
Please create a new library and a new list, test again, compare the result.

Unable to create new events in iCal

I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS7, and now when I try to create a new event in iCal, nothing happens. I am able to tap the "+" and enter the event information, but when I tap "Done", no new event appears in the calendar.
If I, instead, create the event in the Calendar on my PC, the phone syncs with Outlook, and the event appears on the phone's iCal app.
Why am I suddenly unable to create new events on my phone in iOS7, and how can I fix this issue?

why would you steal your music id password? ..nokia id / account is different from windows live id btw.
maybe you already have a windows live account, thats why its showing the that problem. check settings > email+accounts > you should ideally have only one(1) 'microsoft account' in there. if you want to use another one, you might want to just 'change' the existing one with your new credentials.

Can't create new folder on an external hard drive, and how to transfer files?

Hello everyone,
the non-English speaking videographer I translate for is having problems operating his Premiere CS5 for Mac from an external hard drive. He cannot create new folder on the external hard drive (the "New Folder" button is grayed-out when tries to export media onto the external hard drive) and when he simply tries to create new folder, the "new folder" option isn't available.
He suspects it's because the hard drive was formatted for PC.
Questions:
- should PC-formatting cause that problem?
- what's the proper way to transfer media files from PC-formatted external hard drive to the internal hard drive on Mac?

He is right on the money
Now, for the sad or FAT part. You need to format the drive as FAT32 to make it work both on PC and MAC but, and that is a big BUT, the max file size of any given file will be 4GB. I haven't treid other formats yet, like the journaled MAC OS extended, but I don't think that would work. We transfer our files through or own gigabit network so I never had to try it, other than FAT32 formatted SDHC cards.
