Unable to create remote folder

When I attempt to go to the data bindings on an ASP form I
have, I get the following error:
Unable to create remote folder 550 _mmdbscripts: Access
Denied
The form works fine, but I can add any new fields to the form
because I get this error when I attempt to update the field list
under server behaviors.
Any suggestions?

Does your FTP hang on all sites? Or this this the only one?
How many sites
do you have? Does it hang with all folders or only these
specific ones?
What happens if you create a new folder in the site and try
to upload that?
Such curious FTP problems in DW are almost ALWAYS the result
of an
interference from your local firewall - are you running one?

    Nobody can tell you anything without knowing exact site and server specs, but I would suspect that naming the folder "html" wasn't the brightest of ideas, since that's usually a default (invisible) folder name existing somewhere on the server and the user not having privileges to overwrite it.

    You don't "store" anything in contribution folders. They are just webdav access points. I recommend zero folders personally.
    If you want to upload files using webdav, then I suggest using one staging folder, where files can enter the system. When the document is workflowed and/or verified, it is moved out of the folder. It's more likely however that you'll need a few access points for various types of content as each folder enforces specific metadata.
    Now I imagine you are after a way to store all the HR bits and pieces of one person together as a unit. Some people use Content Folios. Personally, I'd just use a metadata field that contains the ContentID of the person's master record. Any new content for that person just gets the master ContentID stamped on it. Just search for that ContentID to get all their stuff.
    Regarding best practices, there are lots of quality blogs floating around. Stellent/Oracle don't talk about best practice because each system is used by their clients in a unique way... well, that's what they say.

    Unless you have a utility that will let you R/W NTFS they as noted - reformat to a +HFS file system - aka -
    Mac OS Extended (Journaled) - using Disk Utility.
    The Mac OS can read/write +HFS and FAT 32 but can only read NTFS.

    Solution.....
    the contibution folders have a security group "All" and the user that im using to create a new folder was having just R permission to "All" so If you tried to create a new folder from the action list choose link folder then u will get the error that i mentiond above and i think this is the way the content server works "corrent me if im wrong" .now to solve this i gave that user a RW to the "All" security group and now he can create folders.
    Note:what i discovred is that when the system folder has a security group defined then the contibuter the contributer that he want to create a new folder under it must have RW to the security group in the Contribution folders.

    System.out.println("directory doesnt exist creating status :"+isDirectoryCreated);
    This code works fine on my local weblogic server.Whereas the one installed on Unix box is not.
    saveDirectory.mkdir() is unable to create a directory at the given path.
    I feel there is some permission problems.
    Please let me know what can be done.

  • Unable to create remote folders

    For some reason, Dreamweaver 8 has stopped allowing 10+ users
    the ability to create folders on the remote FTP site. The FTP
    server has not changed, and the FTP location/permissions/user
    accounts have not changed.
    Everytime we try to create any folder on any remote FTP site,
    Dreamweaver returns with "Sorry, creating new folder failed". If we
    use any other FTP program, folders can be created without issue. I
    have already updated the users to Dreamweaver 8.0.2 and it hasn't
    fixed the problem. Does anyone know why this happened all of a
    sudden out of the blue? It is very frustrating.
    I myself have tried it both within a Mac and a PC, and I've
    tested it on 8+ FTP sites and have the same issue. As I mentioned
    earlier, there have not been any changes to the user permissions on
    the server or the users' systems.

  • Unable to create a folder in lower levels of root folder

    It appears to me I cannot create a new folder in the lower levels of root folder. Currently, I have to create a new folder right below root folder and then drag it to lower level folder. Why I can't do it in one go. Thanks!

    Hi Ray. That is normal behavior for Snow Leopard now. The OS wants to reserve the root level for itself. Also, folders you create at the root level may not accurately reflect the correct permissions.
    You want to try to keep all your files/folders in your Home (User) folder. That way all your documents remain portable when you move to another Mac or migrate your data back after an Erase & Install. If your docs are scattered all over the drive there is a chance some stuff will not get transferred during a move. So try to keep everything inside your Home folder.
    If you have to place a new folder at the root level, try creating the folder on your Desktop, then dragging it to the root level.

  • Unable to create/find folder error

    ive just finished my new computer with vista 64 and i downloaded and installed the newest Itunes with no problem. changed the itunes music folder to be on a seperate drive and i have for music. and replaced the standard music folder with a shortcut to the music drive for easy access from start menu. but no whenever i start Itunes i get "unable to find/create the needed iTunes folder, standard location for this is in the music folder" ive tryid to uninstall itunes and reinstall it, ive tryid to put the music folder back where it was but nothing helps. some help would be much appreciated:)

    I have created a File System repository manager which is working OK.
    The problem is that when I try to created a link between a folder located inside the /documents repository to any folder located at the repository I defined I receive this error:
    "The item could not be created because an exception occurred in the framework". I couldn't find any meaningful info at the defaultTrace.
    Any ideas?

    (a) If you are (much) below SPS18, maybe try to upgrade.
    (b) Double-check the default trace. It is not impossible, but at least unprobable that there is no info inside.
    (c) If (a) and (b) don't help, open an OSS message...

  • Unable to create shared folder when creating distribution list

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a new Distribution List in ECC  using T-code SO23.
    The system is not allowing me to create a new Shared Folder (step in creating the DL).
    Instead, I get a message saying 'Folder does not exist' (message code :SO 005)
    I do not have this issue in either the  000 client or in the quality system. I check the authorization objects and general SAP Ofiice settings. Everything looks identical between the systems.
    I would appreciate if any of you have any suggestions/advice?

    The following errors occurrd on our D* & Q* system, and SAP recommended that I run program RSSOPRRP (Check and repair the SAPoffice profile SOPR.).  It resolved our issue. 
      Errors: 
      WK308 - Folder Shared folders is no longer available
      SO005 - Folder does not exist
    You might give it at try.  If you still have an issue, open a OSS message.

  • Was able to but now unable to create new folder SharePoint Online 2013 G3

    Hello,
    I checked the item and folder limits for the library and even though the library is huge it is within limits. The option is enable and the ICON is not grayed out. When I click New Folder icon nothing happens. I am able to create folders in libraries of other
    sites.

    Lets have these troubleshoot steps ?
    What is your user permission for that library/site/collection ?
    Can you create a new list / new library ?
    Can you upload new document in same library
    Does this happening newly created library ?
    is it happening to any other subsite ?
    is it happening to any other site colletion?
    Did you try "new folder" from library tab from ribbon?
    It is not permision issue / something else? what it is? javascript error?
    did you try firefox/chrome/opera/safari?
    any CEWP hidden ?
