Unable to Customize Mail Toolbar

Unable to customize toolbar add/delete/move toolbar icons per Help or plaette instructions. When attempting to move or delete toolbar icons one at a time the entire group of icons move as a shadow and then goes back. Using the verious command keys has no effect. Used Archive and Install when I installed Leopard.

Hello Bob:
Try trashing the Mail preference file (com.apple.mail.plist) and then restarting.

  • Unable to customize yahoo toolbar

I have the latest version of Firefox (18.0 I think?) as well as the Yahoo Toolbar add-on. I have not been able to edit the icons on the Yahoo Toolbar for a long time. When I click on the "setting" button, nothing happens, no drop down box appears. When I click on the "+" button, a new tab opens up that takes me to the yahoo toolbar editing page, however, everything is blank, nothing is displayed. No icons to choose from, and my existing icons are not shown either. I can't change the layout, add/remove, or do anything with it. I've tried to uninstall/reinstall both Firefox and Yahoo Toolbar, I've also tried to install these two on a computer that previously had no Firefox or Yahoo Toolbar. Nothing worked. I'm not sure if this is a Firefox or a Yahoo Toolbar problem, but it is sure annoying! Has anyone else experienced this? What's the fix if there is one? Thank you very much!

Hi Feer56! You are SUPER! Thank you so much for that offer. If you have a shortcut way to reach them, that would be great! I'm not expecting a quick fix since after all, it IS yahoo, but if they become aware of the problem, then there is a chance down the road. :) Before I started the post here, I DID try to find their appropriate department to file the problem, but I couldn't even find a "contact" section, it's all kind of "Q&A" sections that have nothing to do with what I'm looking for, sigh...
Thank you guys! You are sure wonderful!

  • Where did the little man icon go to in the mail toolbar

It seems new Mac iMail does not have the icon of the address book, a little man.  How do I find it for my toolbar

    Hi wwwwes,
To add items to the toolbar, go to the View menu, select Customize Toolbar and drag items you want to use into the toolbar. See this article -

  • Can't customize mail's compose toolbar

I think I used to be able to customize the toolbar for the compose email window with Apple's Mail program.
Seems in mountain lion that when I bring up a new compose window and then go to the View menu, that the customize option is greyed out.  And right clicking on the toolbar doesn't give me a dropdown option.
I want to add an "add link" icon to my compose toolbar.
Does anyone have a workaround or suggestion?
    thanks

And as I pointed out you get to it from here in Mountain Lion:
In Mail it is on the View menu but before you actually compose your message
The only options to customise the Compose window are these:
And you get them from this button:

PS You can still use the keyboard shortcut.

  • I've lost the 'send' icon on my mail toolbar and can not find or retrieve it.

I have lost the 'send' icon on my Mail toolbar and am unable to retrieve it so I am unable to send an email.

    Launch Mail.
    Start composing a new mail.
    Click "View" menu.
    Select "Customize Toolbar".
From the dropdown drag the "Send" button to the top of the window.
    Click "Done".

  • How do I remove an icon from my Apple Mail toolbar?

I know how to customize the mail toolbar, but mail isn't letting me remove a default icon.

Try holding down the command key, click and hold, then drag down until you get a puff of smoke.

  • How do I add icons to a mail toolbar?

I can see how to add standard icons to a mail toolbar but are these the only icons available? Are there icons for instance to move to the next (or previous) mail message without having to go in and out of a message?

What exists in Mail/View/Customize Toolbar is all there is.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

    I`m using Win 7 pro 64bit with acrobat 9.0 pro 32 bit.
I am now unable to send .PDF`s from either the toolbar or from the File, attach mail.
The system says Ädobe acrobat error - unable to send mail"
    Any hep would be appreciated.
    Many thanks

    I don't remember much of Acrobat 9...
What email client are you using?  Are the Acrobat preferences configured to use that email client?  Is it running when you try to send that document?

  • Is Apple going to restore a contacts icon in the mail toolbar? It is missing in Yosemiti !

Yosemiti does not include an address icon in the mail toolbar. I am unable to BCC a list of addresses when forwarding an e-mail ????

Sorry I didn't use very clear language - by green blob, I mean the maximise button in the traffic light system on the top left of an email - underneath mine is a dialogue box that lists various options, adding fields like cc or bcc, which was someone asked about.
Don't know why the contacts icon disappeared. Perhaps Apple will restore it in the next update.

  • Can I add "copy" and "paste" icons to mail toolbar?

The group of customize icons does not include cut, copy, or paste to add to the mail toolbar. Is there a way to add them?

I guess that these were considered such fundamental operations, each with an already existing variety of operations (mouse, keyboard, right-click, ctrl+c etc) that the Thunderbird devs didn't choose to replicate them again. Similarly, keyboard selection is relied upon a great deal in Thunderbird, rather than adding all the ugly (IMHO) checkboxes that now counterintuitively litter all Windows Explorer displays.
So, if the devs expected you to use ctrl+right+shift to select the current text word by word, then ctrl+c to copy it, ctrl+x to cut it and ctrl+v to paste it would be quite natural, since your hands are already at the keyboard. Similarly, if you prefer to select by mouse, a right-click also offers options to copy, cut and paste, and there is also the possibility to drag selected text, serving cut and paste in one action. So it could be argued that there is no need for buttons.
There used to be additional button add-ons for Thunderbird, but those that I know about don't appear to be under active maintenance and don't currently work with TB 31.0.
You could build your own using a Custom Buttons add-on, but it isn't easy to find the appropriate function call to attach to your home-made buttons. :-(
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/custom-buttons/
Here's the code you need if you try this add-on:
    cut: goDoCommand("cmd_cut")
    copy: goDoCommand("cmd_copy")
    paste: goDoCommand("cmd_paste")
    (taken from: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Keyconfig_extension:_Thunderbird )
The tedious bit is finding suitable icons; the defaults are pretty but unhelpful coloured stars.

  • Unable to customize notifications & wallpaper.

On My BB Z10, after going to System Settings and selecting Notifications, I am unable to customize notifications for contacts & applications. Also I'm not able to change wallpaper. On clicking the select wallpaper option (under Display Settings) , the list of other wallpapers does not come up and nothing happens.
The OS on the device is 10.2.1.3062
    Please Help.

Sounds like you have set up the Blackberry OK to use the wireless internet connection,
but you also need to set up the E-Mail aswell, as you will have a new E-Mail server from your new Internet service provider.
From the Main Menu click "Setup" then either the "Setup Wizard" followed by "E-Mail",
or go straight to "E-mail settings" and follow the on screen instructions.
If you found my answer ( or anyone else's ) to be helpful, don't forget to click the Kudos button !

  • I can't customize ANY toolbar in lion osx.

I officially can't customize ANY toolbar in lion osx; mail, safari, folders. I know how to do it,the thing is that the icon doesn't move when i'm "customizing" it.
I even installed everything again, twice! s.o.s

Access the Arc tool by click-hold on the Line Segment tool in the Tool bar. Any Tool with a small black triangle in the lower right hand corner can be treated the same to reveal nested tools. By clicking and dragging of the right edge of the exposed extras panel you can get a tear-off panel which has all the associated tools to use.

  • Editing MAIL toolbar

I don't know if Apple has changed the Support format or if i just got lost. I had intended to post a question in the MAIL section, but I can't seem to find it today. Anyway, I want to delete "Reply All" from my MAIL toolbar. How do I do it?

In Mail - Use the top menus to reach Mail-View-Customize Toolbar.
if you have the default '3-way' reply, reply all & forward' button - then drag that off & it'll 'puff of smoke' vanish.
Now drag the individual Reply & Forward ones (if that's what you want) up to the toolbar, wherever you want them.
    Click Done & you're done.

  • Mail Toolbar when replying

Hello.  I find I have a problem when replying to an e-mail.  When I click on the reply arrow at the top of the reply, it brings up an e-mail addressed to the person I am replying to.  The problem arises sometimes that when I then go to click on the SEND airplane icon, I sometimes absent mindly click on the RED dot instead.  Is there any way that the SEND icon could be moved further away from the RED dot in order to help alleviate this problem.
In an NEW email you are able to customize the toolbar but I don't believe there is any way of doing that with the reply e-mail.
    Any ideas on this?  Thanks.

Can i revert back to IOS5.1.1?????

Contact your email provider and get the correct settings to use for the outgoing mail server (SMTP) on a mobile device. If it's email provided by your ISP, they have likely blocked email from outside their network from relaying to prevent spam.
