Unable to Data Collection Methods in CCMS/RZ20

Hi gurus,
There are lot of Montoring Objects for which there are no data collection methods already assigned which I am trying to do.
I am able to do method assignments only to data analysis and auto reaction methods but not " data collection " which remains in display only mode even after using the edit option,
Kindly let me know how to proceed.

Hi,
in the past there was the option to change the data supplier. After several customers accidentally entered analysis or auto-reaction methods, the changed that to read-only, because its completely preconfigured - no need to change. And: you cannot know the name of a data supplier to be entered.
NO METHOD does not mean: There is no data supplier. There are a lot of MTEs being refreshed with data, although there is NO METHOD being entered. These MTEs are refreshed by so called active data suppliers - they run independently from the CCMS Moni Infra.
Example: Syslog. Data collection method: NO METHOD. Real data supplier: The SAP kernel, which reports into syslog (when there is something to be reported) and into CCMS in parallel. All changes to that MTE would cause a problem in data supplying.
So please feel free to open a n SAP call, whenever an MTE in CCMS is white (no data), and you are interested in that information. Sometimes we disable data supplying by default - then we can tell you how to enable it.

I have productive, based on 4 application servers. In RZ20, alerts of MTE Operating System for one application server is not work. In nodes properties I have collect method "CCMS_Cpu_Collect_c". On other application servers - "CCMS_OS_Collect". System does not allow to me to change collect method
What will I do? Please help me.

Hello Victor,
the data collection method CCMS_OS_COLLECT is an ABAP report as you can see in the method overview in rz21. This report is used to collect the operating system data and send it to the CCMS.
As soon as you install the sapccm4x agent on an instance the agent will take over the data collection for the operating system subtree (this is also described in [note 522453 |http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/522453]. Important: point 4. of the note!). I.e. as soon as the agent is responsible for the data collection you will see the mentioned CCMS_Cpu_Collect_c.
If the MTE doesn't display data you should check if the agent is running.

CCMS monitoring data collection

Hi,
I have set up CCMS to show alerts for inbound IDOC errors.
This seems to be working correctly, but the status is not being updated when the data collection method is being run. The data collection is set to run once per hour.

Hello Jason,
the IDOC monitoring functionality in CCMS is somewhat limited and cumbersome to set up via transaction BDMO. Far more sophisticated is the corresponding capability in Business Process Monitoring where you can monitor IDOCs regarding certain status and there it is also possible to monitor with a higher frequncy than just one hour.

Data collection task execution in UCMON

Dear Friends
I am using flexible upload method and load from data streams for data upload. Both methods are assigned to my data collection method which in turn is assigned to the task. When i execute the data collection task in consolidation monitor the system executes only the load from data streams and does not give me the option of selecting the method to execute.
To differenciate it i created a new task and assigned only flexible upload method and when i execute this task the system still executes the load from data streams method.
Can anyone guide me as to where i am going wrong?

Can you assign the method to the task, starting from the same starting period and check again."
Do you mean to say that you did whatever i am doing and you too faced the same problem. But the strange behaviour of the system is when i execute it in "Execute with selection screen" mode the system shows all the methods, however if i run it in update mode the system executes only the "Load from data streams" even if the "Flexible upload" method is assigned.
BTW where do you set the validity for a task?

CCMS Data collection

Hi,
I have configured central monitoring in CCMS for all systems.
I have a doubt here that is how the data collection happens for each methods in CCMS for every 5 min?
Is it done using SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP, but this job is scheduled every 1hr. How does data collection happens?
I need to know the working concept in detail. I tried seaching in help.sap.com but unable to find. Help me.

Juan's response is accurate. To see the status of the SAP's cyclic control program, execute txn RZ03 --> utilities --> diagnostics --> control/status area.
To run manually execute txn RZ03 --> utilities --> diagnostics --> run sapmssy6.

Exception 'InvalidOperationException': The given value of type Int32 from the data source cannot be converted to type tinyint of the specified target column.
Running SCOM 2007 R2 on Server 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2. I can only find a single reference to this exact error on the Internet. It started occurring on a weekend. No changes were made to the SCOM server directly before this occurred. Anyone know
what the error means and/or how to fix?

About 24 hours ago, one of my four management servers began generating this error every 10 minutes; we only upgraded to SCOM 2012 R2 a couple weeks ago, I have NOT installed UR1. No new management packs or database changes have been made within the

CCMS - Data collector method development

We need to develop a monitoring object using DATA COLLECTOR METHOD for ABAP SHORT DUMPS in CCMS. The documentation says use the reference call function SALT_TOOL_REFERENCE_MODULE to develop a custom call function.
Has anyone worked with the template? Can you share your template(source code) using the above call function?

Performance Monitor Remote Data Collection unable to get data

When attempting data collection of a remote Windows 2008 server (Server_B) from another W2k8 server (Server_A) I receive the following error: "When attempting to start the Data Collector Set the following system error occurred: No data to
return."
However remote real-time monitoring of Server_B is no problem. Also, local real-time monitoring and data collection of Server_A is successful.
Is the error due to security restrictions?

Would you please let me know whether have administrator rights on the server trying to collect data collector set?
Please type services.msc on RUN. When Services panel opened, please navigate to Performance Logs & Alerts
service and check if it started. Meanwhile, please temporarily disable firewall and monitor the result.
In addition, please refer to following KB and check if can help you.
The Data Collector Set may not start on a computer that is
running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista
Performance Monitor data collector set does not collect all
required performance counter data in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

OIA-Finalize Data Collection Failed

We are facing an issue with OIM where we have OIA-OIM integration. The issue is that OIA imports were running fine until we suddenly rebooted the OIM server while the OIA import was in progress. After this we are unable to run any job to import the Resources and Entitlements. When we run it it throws the below error:

Unable to retrieve collections from the Search Service.

Hi,
I have a user trying to upload a collection. She gets the
following error:
Unable to retrieve collections from the Search Service.
Please verify that the ColdFusion MX Search Server is
installed and running.
Obviously, I checked the service. It was running. I restarted
the service. That did nothing. I restarted all the CF services.
Didn't fix the issue. I also rebotted the server, not expecting
that to work. It didn't.
Checking the server logs, I see this:
The description for Event ID ( 105 ) in Source ( ColdFusion
MX 7 Search Server ) cannot be found. The local computer may not
have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to
display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the
/AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support
for details. The following information is part of the event:
ColdFusion MX 7 Search Server.
Also, after talking to my co-worker more, it turns out this
occurred right after she uploaded a new collection to the
administrator. This link sounds similar to what I'm experiencing:

Maybe it's a corrupt collection?
but I don't see any errors in the log

Finally, there are some errors in the Verity service, and it
looks like the Verity service Verity K2Server (Version 2.20pr6)
points to D:\CFusionMX\lib\k2server.exe, which doesn’t exist
anymore because we’ve upgraded to MX7.I'm not sure if this is
an old service left over from before we upgraded from CFMX to
CFMX7.
We are running CFMX7 on a Windows 2003 Server SP1 if that
matters.

In the left hand panel of the ColdFusion Administrator expand
the Data & Services link. Then select the Verity K2 Server
link. Change localhost to 127.0.0.1 in the Verity Host Name
textbox.

ABAP Dataflow using FTP data transfer method

Hi,
I am facing this error while executing the ABAP dataflow, the datastore configuration has FTP as data transfer method.
I wanted to know if the ABAP program is generated succesfully and the error is while executing the ABAP program or there is an issue with the generation of ABAP program itself... Please help me understand the issue.

I am really not clear with your question. This is the first time i am executing the ABAP interface with FTP data transfer method. The madap8004 is the FTP server name. and the path is where the file whould be generated I belive. Is it the problem with any read/write permissions on the server?

BCS - Data collection issue

Hi,
I'm using BCS 4.0. I'm working now in final testing and I have some question regarding to the data collection process using load from data stream method. I ran the task in consolidation monitor for 007.2007 period and for all companies without any error or warnings, but we have differences in financial information for that period.
I reviewed the content in my BCS cube (RSA1) and we don't have any data for that accounts, the only thing that I found was that all docs were created on same date
I deleted the ID request in RSA1in my BCS cube and I executed task again in consolidation monitor, but the result was the same.
Looking at log / source data, in the rows listed, these data is not taking from the infoprovider
Any idea which could be the problem ?

Hi Nayeli,
I had to do this kind of job (reconciliation of data in the source basis cube and the totals cube) during the final testing a lot of times, with an accountant.
The only way to have the first clue what is happening is to compare every particular amount s in both cubes. Comparing and trying to figure out any dependencies in data.
The difference might arise because of ANY reason. Only you may analyze the data and decide what to do.
AFAIU, you compared only reported data and did no currency translation and eliminations?
Then, I'm afraid that you've made a very big mistake deleting the request from the totals cube. You have broken the consistency between totals and document data. For a transactional cube the request is yellow until the number of records in it reach 50000 records. Then it is closed and become green. As you may understand, in those 50000 records maybe contained a lot of data for different posting periods, for example, reported data for the previous closed period. Though, documents still contain eliminations for that period. - Inconsistency.

LMS 3.2 Data Collection Issue

I have LMS 3.2 and license for adding 5000 devices , my data collection is running continously for the past 2 days, when i try to stop the daemon manager and restart it comes to idle state but after some time it again goes to Running state
I am not getting the best practices deviations and discrepaqncies report after this issue
