Unable to delete awesome bar history

So I've completely wiped my browser history, multiple times. But I still get /all/ of my history in the awesome bar, which is just super aggravating. What can I do?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Only recently I noticed that the Awesome Bar History will not clear. I habitually use the ‘Clear Private Data’ option. However, the All Pages list will not delete. Any insight?

Awesome bar history search, show only root domain?

I want to allow Firefox to search my history in the Awesome bar, but I'd like it to only show the root domain. For example, I'd want it to only show "support.mozilla.org" rather than "support.mozilla.org/yadyadyada/and/so/on".
Any easy way to make it do that?

Unable to delete "Bookmarks Bar & Bookmarks Menu"

I synced my bookmarks with IE for the first time and then I decided to sync Safari bookmarks which was successful but now I am left with two empty and useless folders called "Bookmarks Bar" from Safari and "Bookmarks Menu" from IE which I am unable to delete or move to the bottom of the Bookmarks menu. This is inconvenient, unsightly and takes up space.
Can anyone tell me how to remove those folders? And are Apple aware of this error?

It's not an error, per se. These are default bookmark folders on in Safari, and thus are transferred to the iPhone when you sync Safari bookmarks. If you are still syncing Safari bookmarks, they will always be there, and you cannot alter that. If you no longer want to sync Safari bookmarks, are the folders in your IE bookmarks? If so, delete them from there. Then, in iTunes in the Info tab (with the iPhone connected and selected in the devices list), scroll down to Advanced Options and check the box to replace bookmarks, then click Apply.

If you cleared the history when you start typing another address it will look to what is stored in your Bookmarks. Could that be what you are seeing?

I am unable to delete Form & Search History (it's greyed out as an option to be deleted under the clear recent hisotry tab) help!

my son has used my computer to visit porn websites and I want to delete the Form and Search history so the drop down with these sites is eliminated. The instructions said to go to History > clear recent history and then chose Form and Search history, but it won't allow me to choose this (it's greyed out). How do I do this?

I found this link for a similar problem someone had with a Lotus Notes account. I used it to resolve my issue with a different email account (basically followed the same steps, and then looked for the particular account I needed to delete)... hope it helps!

I updated to 3.6.6 but now my awesome bar, history, bookmarks, and all that stuff is comepletely gone. What is going on/what do i do?

After an upgrade, all of my typical functions where gone. I dont have anywhere to type in website URLs or go back in my history. I don't even have tools so I cant troubleshoot.

Unable to delete you tube history. You tube app keeps shutting down.

My you tube app keeps shutting down, when a video has loaded to play. Then returns to the startup screen... I have tried to delete the history, but the red delete buttons fades out an nothing happens.

Unable to delete / Purge Log History

There are some logs in my runbook that are there for the past 6 months and when i try deleting them, the system throws an error "idispatch error #3121 (8004021e31)".
Is there any other way to have it deleted maybe from SQL.

The awesome bar is suggesting history

I changed my settings so that the awesome bar only suggests my bookmarks. However, it still is suggesting history (and items that are not in my bookmarks). I've deleted my history multiple times, but websites that I have only visited once are being autocompleted when I type one letter into the awesome bar.

I am unable to delete history - this started yesterday

I have tried all options that I am aware of - checked your FAQ's and tutorials. I am unable to delete - system can't handle my FB traffic. what have I missed? up until yesterday, even after deleting by your options, I have had to manually delete.

Items manually removed from history still shows up in Awesome Bar (but without favicon)

Even if I delete all History items related to a certain search term (for example: "aftonbladet"), the Awesome Bar still remembers it. I don't have any bookmarks with that search term.
Items in the item bar that sticks like this, even if I remove any history related to them, have no favicon.

First I tried to repair the database with the Places-Maintenance addon. Didn't work.
Then I quit firefox and removed any places sql files from my profile folder and moved them to my desktop. I then started Firefox again. Naturally, all my history was gone (no biggie) but the problem persist. Even if I visit a bunch of websites, then manually clear all the items from my Browser history (such as pressing Ctrl A then Delete), many of the websites still show up in the Awesome Bar. None of those websites are bookmarked and my Browser history has been manually emtpied.

Firefox doesn't delete the browsing history in the address bar

No matter what you do with Firefox in clearing the browsing history by going to History -> Clear Recent History and deleting everything or resetting FF by going to Troubleshooting information, Firefox doesn't delete the browsing history. The website you have browsed still appear in the address bar.
Several people already have complained about this issue (see thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/939028) and the answer from the Firefox staff is that there is got to be a malware. This is not true, I've seen versions of Firefox in clean computers both Windows and Mac with Firefox doing the same thing, or more like not doing what it's supposed to do: clean the browsing history.
How unsafe is that. Where is your privacy? Firefox has to find a way to fix this glitch. Something tells me they're doing it on purpose because it hasn't been fixed after the complains.

Are that entries that appear if you click the arrow at the far right of the location bar?
Do these items have a star to indicate that they are bookmarks?

The home page does not show the awesome bar or file,edit,view,history,ect.
