Unable to delete Jane's Addiction song from iphone6

My iphone6 came with a Jane's Addiction song that I am unable to remove. I can't swipe to delete and the only show music on phone option doesn't help. Any ideas?

I had the same problem and I eventually found an annoying way to get around it - but it worked. Here is what I did:
1. Put back up copies of all PDFs I wish to keep in a folder on my desktop (or where ever is convenient).
2. Delete ALL files (books & PDFs) from iBooks on the device.
3. Open iBooks and select "File" > "Move Books From iTunes". (Nothing seemed to happen, but I think this step is necessary)
4. Select each title in iBooks and hit Delete (on the keyboard). A pop-up asks if I am sure I want to delete it from my computer, click yes.
5. Some of the PDF titles remain in iBooks after deleting. This is because I imported them twice - once into iTunes and again into iBooks. When this is the case, repeat step 4.
6. Drag the back up files back into iBooks. If you have purchased books you should be able to download them from the iBooks store again if you want to.
7. Open iTunes, plug in the device and select the device in the bar in the top left. Under "Settings" > "Books" in the sidebar there should be only the newly added files.
8. Select syncing options as you prefer and sync the device.
9. From now on only import PDFs into iBooks. Do NOT drag them into iTunes.
It is an annoying process to go through, especially if you have many files, but it is the only way I could delete those annoying doubles. On the bright side, it was a good way to clear out all my unwanted files and start over. I hope this helps

Restore them from the recycle bin if they are there, or your backup, or find an unerase or file recovery tool, or see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device if you have one.

In iTunes 11, what is the best way to delete the iTunes purchased song from my library after I create an aiff copy?

I use my MacBook Pro as a music server. After downloading a song from the iTunes store I create an AIFF copy in my laptop's iTunes Library. I then delete the original purchased song from the library to avoid duplicates. In iTunes prior to version 11 I had no difficulties doing this. The purchased copy just went back to the cloud and awaited future download onto other devices leaving the new AIFF copy in my laptop's library. In iTunes 11 it is not as easy. The purchased version wants to stay in my library even after it is deleted. What is the best (simplest) process to delete the compressed copy completely from my laptop's library while leaving the Aiff version. However, I want the original version to be available in the cloud for download on my other devices. Quite often my efforts have resulted in hiding the song frm the cloud! Any suggestion.....?

You cannot get higher resolution by converting the original. This goes for converting anything, not just iTunes purchases.
Creating an AIFF will simply make the file 10 time as large with zero increase in quality.

Deleted all the 2217 songs from itunes...

I, ofcourse, HAD to play with the music folder in my finder, and had to ACCIDENTLY delete all the songs.
So, i go into itunes and, as ever, hit 'play'...

HOW to switch off the automatical update of my ipod, when i can't change any of my ipod settings if ipod isn't connected to the comp. and if i connect it, ipod will, ofcourse delete all the songs cause its on automaticly updating..

You can't directly sync or drag music from your iPod to iTunes library.
If your iTunes is set for "Automatic" in "Preferences -> iPod" (the default setting), connecting your iPod to iTunes now would automatically delete all the content off your iPod. This action cannot be reversed.
Instead, connect your iPod to your computer. Get ready, and as soon as the iPod displays "do Not Disconnect" on the screen, begin to press and hold the Option and Command keys for 20-30 seconds, as iTunes loads up. This will prevent any auto-syncing from clearing the songs off your iPod.
Now, onto the transferring.
You can have a third-party program do this copying for you; see a selection of them here:

When I download music into Itunes and move songs into playlists, Itunes has twice randomly deleted all recently added songs from the playlists they have been added to. It is driving me crazy. Has anyone else had this problem?

When I download music into Itunes on my PC, every song is transferred into a specific playlist. Twice now when I have opened up Itunes, all the recent songs that have been moved into playlists have been deleted by Itunes. I now have to go back and figure out which songs are missing and re-add them. It is driving me crazy. I have 10,000 songs and now have no idea which ones are missing and which ones have been retained.
Please help. Does anyone else have this problem?

Deleting either duplicate prevents song from playing. Solution?

I have duplicates. TONS. I went through my library and deleted each and every one individually. All 2000 of them.
Then I started to play my library. Now I'm told the files can't be found. Awesome. All that tedious work and I have to restore the entire library only to have duplicates again.
Prior to deleting, there is only one copy of each song in the media folder. So my files are not the problem. I simply move the media folder over from my external drive and drop it into the current media folder on the computer.
I did a test run. When deleting duplicates, it doesn't matter which one I delete....the song won't play. Any advice on how to keep duplicates from showing up?

If you have true duplicates then there should be two files, one for each duplicate. The files may be identical.
While it is easy to end up with duplicates in a playlist, I'm not sure how to get duplicates in the main library of the exact same file in the exact same location.

I tried deleting a bunch of songs from iTunes after downloading the newest version. After deleting them they're 'hidden' on iCloud and still show up on my phone which I do not want these at all the begin. So how do I delete these songs?

I have read a little and something about iTunes Match... I'm not about to spend $24.99 just to delete some songs off of the cloud.

Go to Settings > Music and make sure "Show All Music" is off. Then only actually downloaded music will be displayed. With it on, you can see all your music stored in the Cloud as well. That music will always be in the Cloud (until such time as you download it) but it isn't present on your device.

Is there a quick, easy way to delete all the "lost" songs from my Library?

OK, I'm storing all my music in my iTunes folder, which I moved to an external HD. In my iTunes Library (within the application itself), there must be thousands of MP3s listed that I no longer have the MP3 files for. Is there a quick way to update the library so that it only lists what music I actually have on my HD? Basically, I want to get rid of all the songs that show up in my library which I no longer have on my HD. Is there any way to do that?

Thank you for your reply Diane. I'll look into that site. I probably did delete all the files through the finder, but to be honest, I don't know how they all got into my Library to begin with. Is there a way to erase my whole list and then rebuild it based on what files are contained in my iTunes folder? that might be easier.

Unable to delete a set of records from PSA

Hello All,
I am trying to delete a PSA request (INIT With data transfer) which had about crores of records. But in my PSA, I can still see about 16000 records from the earlier deleted request.
Please advice as my next INIT is not brininging in any records. the issue is very critical...

Hi,
Check out for any other History Init Request available in the PSA and delete it. Or use the program - RSAR_PSA_CLEANUP_DIRECTORY to clean the PSA Completely. Next, check out in the InfoPackage menu, Scheduler - > Initialization for source system, whether there is any successful Initialization request is available or not. If available delete the request by selecting delete from all the systems.
Now, you can again use the Init Infopackage to initialize the delta.

Songs deleting when Transferring purchased songs from iPhone to computer!

When I transfer purchases from my iPhone to my laptop the process does not always seem to work. On a few occasions, it appears to have completed. But when I check iTunes on my computer the purchases are not there and try are also deleted from my iPhone! So I'm left with nothing. Does anyone know a way to restore purchased content to your iPhone?

Update iTunes on your computer.
On the iPhone, open up the iTunes app. See Purchased at the bottom. Find your movies and you should be able to redownload for free.
On the computer, get into the iTunes Store, in the top right column, it says Purchasd. Again, you should be able to download them.

HT201250 i seem to have deleted all my iTunes songs from my hard drive

but i can't work out how to restore the audio files to my hard drive using Time Machine. That hard drive including all the audio files must be saved in there somewhere, I just don't know where. My various iTunes folders all seem to be incomplete, so maybe the bulk of the iTunes audio was stored elsewhere. At any rate, it should all be backed up in Time Machine but I find it very confusing to use.
But equally, all my music should be in the iCloud so can i not just restore the music from there anyway?

You haven't lost them, you can download them all again without having to pay for them again. It might be a pain in the butt to have to do it, but you will get them back. The forts thing that I would do is to reset the iPad and see if the songs come back.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If they don't come back, go to the purchase tab of the iTunes Store and tap on the Music tab at the top. Them tap on Not on this iPad. You will be able to download all of the songs by tapping on the close icon next to the song.
