Unable to delete update rule

Hello All,
When iam deleting an update rule it is not getting deleted and iam getting message saying underlying infosource does not exists .The underlying infosource is deleted long before any way how come deleting update rule depends on infosource. Please give me solution to delete update rule.

Try going into RSRV and choose All Elementary Tests => Database => Database Information about InfoProvider Tables and Databank Paramerters of *-Schema Tables for Infocube.
Those two options may help to correct the inconsistent state the database is currently in.
Another option .. copy your data target as a backup. Delete the data target, then copy it back.

Unable to install update rules of 0SD_C03 from BI Content

Hi
I am having problems in installing the update rule of 2LIS_11_VAITM for the IC 0SD_C03 in BI 7.0. I tried installing it from the BI content but only this missing update rule is not being installed. There were problems while creating the transformations hence i deleted the rule and tried to get it back from BI content.
Even after installing the entire cube (with grouping before and after) i am unable to get the update rule for this cube.
To test it i deleted another update rule of this same cube and now i dont have both the rules.
How do i get the rules for the cube back????

hi guys,
i am also faced the same issue but some what different way,
when i am going to assign a data source to info source in source system
it automatically take it to the particular transfer rules and transfer structure
in stallion screen in BI content. after selecting the install button, control will
take it to other screen, there i select transfer with out dialogs,
after some time the control will got to sap r/3 system log on screen.
finally it won't install the object's, can anyone resolve this issue

Unable to find Update rules in BI content

Hi All,
We are unable to find the update rules for the datasource
2LIS_03_BX
2LIS_03_BM
2LIS_03_UF
in the Business Content for the cube 0IC_C03
But we can find the update rules for the datasource 2LIS_40_S278 for the cube 0IC_C03
The BI content was of Release 703 (level 0011) in our system.
What might be the reason for this ?

How are you collecting the BI content.
In BI content select the datasource and collect data flow afterwards. You will get update rule in it.

Need help to activate update rules

The "new key Figures" that I have included in ODS are added to the "old Key Figures" that are there in ODS already. The "old Key Figures for which there are source fields. But, the "new key Figures" are dependant on the the 2 source fields.
So, do I still need to declare these "new key figures" in the ODS?

Transport Order to delete Update Rule

Hi,
we got a problem with a transport order to delete a Update Rule.
- The delete process was saved on a order A with other objects on it.
- Order A was released but not imported.
- Now we need to transport the delete process without the other objects on the order A.
We try creating a new order B and include all the objects from order A, so we can delete on order B the objects that we don't want to transport. The problem is that the update rules copied to order B doesn't have the delete function asigned.
How can we solve it.

Hi
In such extreme cases you can change the target directly (QA and P).
you can delete the Upd Rules in QA and P and then just
transport the new Upd Rules.
This is not recommended but some times its the best and easiest solution.

Unable to map Update Rule with u201CMaster data attribu201D option

Hi,
Does anybody know the reason why sometimes, in update rules to an ODS, I cannot map an InfoObject with the option u201CMaster data attribu201D?
I have the characteristic in the ODS, and for another update rule, to the same ODS, I am able to map this field correctly, but for a specific rule, the u201CMaster data attribu201D field appears in blank when I press F4.

Hi Shanthi,
I didn't insert the InfoObject as an InfoProvider.
The problem is that I have two update rules for the same ODS object. For one I can map the characteristic correctly, and for the other, when I press F4 in the "Master Data Attrib", no characteristics appear.

TS3274 How do you delete updates icon after updating?

Unable to delete update icon after updating is complete.

You can't delete them.
It will start dropping the earlier updates after about two weeks (on a first in first out basis)

Missing Update Rule...

I installed BW system and while activating Business Content, i'm unable to locate Update Rules for Infocubes 0CRM_C01 & 0CRM_C02 can anyone tell where to find the update rule if any or the ODS to which these Infocubes are linked.
Also if anyone can mail me the Steps to follow in CRM-BPS Marketing Planning & Budgeting, will be of great help as im very new to both BW & BPS.

In the CRM Marketing Planner you can create key figures for a marketing plan or campaign using SEM planning profiles. The same key figures can be used more than once, for example, marketing costs can be used in the planning profile Budgeting/Cost Planning and also in Marketing Response Planning. If you want to display the planned figures in a BW query (for example, in plan/actual comparisons), you must make sure that the planned figures are displayed for at least one planning profile. Otherwise the planned marketing costs would be aggregated from different planning profiles.

Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express.
I am new to Visual Basic programing and i am trying to understand the relationships between Datasets, database, table Adaptors. I have to following code that is is giving me the following error" Unable to load, Update requires a valid DeleteCommand
when passed DataRow collection with deleted rows".
I can track the error and its located in "OffsetTableTableAdapter.Update(MaterionOffsetDataSet.OffsetTable)" code. What am i missing?
It seems that i can delete the data on the DataGridView Table and it only displays the correct data. but my database is not updating, even though the data grid displays differently.I can determine this because, when i save the offset database, i have all
the previous uploads and all the rows that i wanted to delete are still there.
My final goal is to be able to import offset data from a CSV file, save this data on the pc, send a copy of this data to a NuermicUpDown so the customer can modify certain numbers. From here they download all the date to a controller. IF the customer
needs to modify the imported data, they can go to a tab with a data grid view and modify the table. They will also have to option to save the modified data into a csv file.
Im not sure if i am making this overcomplicated or if there is a easier way to program this.

This error usually shows that you do not initialize the
DeleteCommand object, you could check this
article to see if you get a workaround.

If you are working CSV file, you could use OleDB to read it which would treat the CSV file as a Table:

which seems to be easier (in my opinion).

Deleting rows with missing values in field in start routine of update rule

Hello experts,
how can I delet rows with missing values in a specific field in the start routine of update rules?
I think ABAP code should look something like this:
delete ... from DATA_PACKAGE where Z_NO = ''.

Update Rule Routine not deleted properly

Hi all
I have deleted a routine from an update rule, removed the key figure from the infoprovider and reactivated both the ODS and the update rule.
The update rule therefore no longer contains the datafield.
Unfortunately the the code for the routine still exists in the system (RSAABAP and other tables) and references in this routine to other fields are preventing me carrying out other actions, so I need to properly remove the routine from the system.
I cannot go back to the old generated code for the update rules as there is no version management. I have tried putting the field back on the ODS and recreating the routine, but the system generates a new key for the routine so it looks as though I have lost the link completely.
Any suggestions? Is there a way of deleting an object type R3TR ROUT consistently without doing it through the Update rules change screen?

Unable to collect Update/Transfer rules Info & Data sources from BI content

Hi,
We are tyring to activate Infoprovider 0PY_CO2 from BI content by selecting the option - In data before. BI is unable to collect all corresponding objects such as Update rules, Info source, transfer rules and the data source for the selected Infoprovider. Only Info area and associated info objects are being collected for the installation.
We are experiencing same problem whilst acitvating most of the info providers. However, in some cases, either of these objects get activated but not all the necessary objects that feed data to the Infoprovider (cube or multi provider).
Also, Infopackages and Info object catalogs are not being collected for any objects activated/installed so fare from the BI content.
We are trying to activate BW 3.5 content on the BI 7.0 environment. BI Content release is 703 and support pack level is 008.
Kindly share any pointers to troubleshoot this probelm please.

For some Info providers, all associated info objects(including transfer & update rules and info source and data sources) are getting collected and got successfuly installed. But this is true for only 10% of the Info providers that we have installed so far.
Remaining all the objects, we are unable to proceed further.

I have the same problem. It's showing old podcasts that are available for download and I already watched and I don't want to see them again and I don't want them listed in my iTunes. This latest upgrade is a piece of junk so far. It destroyed my itunes podcast listing on my Windows Machine. I have no intentions of upgrading to iOS7 or my Mac until I hear that things are fixed.

Unable to activate the Update rules

Hi Experts,
I have modified an object from display attribute to navigation attribute.
After this i tried to activate updates rules (Y_DAY & 8Y_DAY)for that cube.
I sucessfully activated Y_DAY but when I am trying to open the other update rule 8Y_DAY, the error message is 0EQUIPMENT is not available in Communication structure and could not activate.
Please suggest the solution for this error.

Hi,
the 8Y_DAY is a datamart ISource created by the system when either
- you are using an ODS
- generated an export DSource on a cube or IObj.
If you have modified the object Y_DAY its corresponding ISource shall be adjusted accodingly.
