Unable to dial preset numbers containing # or *

When trying to dial up preset (or manually punched in) numbers containing # or * to auto services in order to check balances on bank or charge cards or to buy electricity online, I get an error code. Bank confirmed that my sim card is activated for this service & I've used it for years on my Nokia before switching to this BB Torch recently. Please help.

Follow these steps :
1. Go to connection and turn off the data. Also turn off while roaming.
2. Switch off your phone and temporarily insert other sim card. Switch on the phone.
3. Switch it off again and insert back your sim card.
4. Now you will be able to dial service number like *123#.
5. Important : If you want to turn on the data, you must turn off the service connection. If both data and service connection being turned on simultaneously, the problem will reoccur and you may need to repeat from step 1 to be able to use the service number like *123# again.

Check this post, the dial assist is part of the iOS 7.1, according to page 49 of the iphone_user_guide
Make calls to your contacts and favorites while traveling abroad. (GSM) Go to Settings > Phone and turn on Dial Assist. Dial Assist automatically adds the prefix or country code for calls to the U.S.
This user had a similar problem and solved it by switching off the dial assist feature in Settings/Phone/Dial Assist

I am unable to dial numbers straight (it comes as alphabets)

Lately, each time i try to dial a number on my blackberry torch, it displays the numbers am dialing only in alphabets in both the search box and dial box. Unless I prefix my dialled numbers with a plus (+) it is just impossible to dial a number outright starting with zero (0)
Any help will be much appreciated.

Unable to dial out in China

my att Curve 8300 is unlocked but I'm unable to dial out, however, I can receive calls. I'm in China. I put the Sim card in
another unlocked phone and it works. When I check my BlackBerry the display reads:
Sim Card: Security Disabled (this top part is in the locked description but the following is in the unlocked instruction) Why?
ID#
Personalization all read Disabled.
I have entered my code to unlock the phone twice, and I'm told if I do it and it fails the third time it will self destruct...or it will
permanently be locked. Any clarity will be appreciated. Thanks.

Normally when traveling internationally we reccommend setting up international services prior to leaving. When you added the services did you do so online or with a rep? Ok so you want Apple to address the problem, but yet you don't want to take it to them just in case they can't fix it? What if they can fix it? Complaining here certainly won't fix it.

Yep, i just did it again. The entire scroll-bar widget, complete with formatted text, graphics, etc., pasted itself nicely in another book. Two different files, the same widget.
I use the scroll-bar widgets for most of my texts. (I have audio buttons on the side, and the scripts are within the widget, to the side). My only text is within widgets, and text boxes, naturally.
I am following your recommendation: cleaning files, etc. I am remaking the book anew. I need to convince the EPUB bot or whatever that my file looks and works nicely on all my devices. You would expect an error message when previewing the book: 'Hey Amigo, your file is flawed, stop working on it, and get back to the drawing board." Should be able to try again next Monday.

Which Theme are you using now? Not all of the themes have "Panel Container 2" object. Theme "Aqua" and Theme "Nova" have "Panel Container 2", please try them.

You cannot prohibit an iPhone owner from dialing numbers, but you can certainly make it much more convenient to dial certain numbers.
Place the convenient numbers in either Phone favorites, or make those numbers the only contacts the person has.

I have the following questions and suggestions:
1. Unable to verify phone numbers:
I am trying to signup for azure subscription which comes as a benefit out of my BizSpark subscription. But I can't use the phone numbers which I have already used to signup for azure subscription. I have contacted the Azure customer support team, they said
they can't whitelist my mobile numbers instead they can bypass the mobile verification if i provide them the Live id which I am going to use to signup for Azure subscription. Why this is so difficult whereas i have to create azure subscription for my members
for which i will be using my mobile numbers for phone verification.
Please do whitelist my mobile numbers so that i can signup for azure subscription without any hassle.
2. When creating a Virtual Machine it's better to have a total price based on the VM configuration (CPU Cores, Memory, Region etc.,) Because Azure pricing is still confusing and expensive. This will help the users to use the Azure within the limit of the
free credit.
3. Unfortunately the "Data Transfer Out (GB)" is not free which is really annoying and causing users to ignore the usage of the azure VMs inside their credit limit. I have the following suggestions:
Data Transfer out (GB) should have a maximum free limit of 5-10TB per month or according to the data usage every month. This will make the users to use the Azure VMs.
It would be nice if "Standard IO - Page Blob/Disk (GB) & Standard IO - Block Blob (GB)" offered for free.
Azure subscription comes as a benefit for MSDN subscribers where they pay thousands of dollars so they should get something for the money they have paid already for the MSDN subscription.
The concept of the Free trial Azure subscription should be changed, it has to be completely free. Not every students/developers have the credit card to add for security and verification purpose.
As i already stated above if the Azure subscription has a certain limits on Data Transfer (Upload) and Page Blob / Block. The user will not be able to over use the Azure service.

It isn't possible to do this in the Project Web App either in Project Online or Project Server - you will need to use Project Professional 2013 and connect to your Project Online instance, or the subscription version, Project Pro for Office 365.

I am unable to view phone numbers when I browse contacts, I think this is possible as it was in the earlier models of NOKIA E- Series. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

That's correct. In order to give you the option to save more than just one number per contact, you now have to select a contact to see all the details. You can now save his mobile number, home number, email address, address, all under one contact, but you have to select the contact to see any of it, even if it is only a single number..
