Hello,
I cannot find the correct settings to disable pop-up blocker globally. I have some internal web apps that are using pop-ups to display certain information. By default FF is blocking all. Although it is indicating that pop-up was blocked many users do not notice the notification. I need to disable globally the pop-up blocker once for all, so users on particular computers can access the data without such problems. What is the about:config setting for that?

but is i set privacy.popups.policy to 0 on administrator profile will that affect profiles of all users using same machine? I have impression only administrator will be affected by this change.

I cannot effectively disable pop-up blocker for a certain site - it won't allow me to view attachments to documents at this site.

I am attempting to review documents that have attachments. I am unable to view the attachments. I just get a blank page and the message that my brower has installed a pop-up blocker installed and I need to disable it. When I go into my Tools, the pop up block box is not checked. Is there another location that I need to look?

I posted about this a few days ago with no response. VERY annoying! I am working at a job on Quickbooks online and in the middle of entering transactions I keep getting the message that Firefox is blocking something but the pop-up blocker is not even checked on in preferences and the message at the top when you open it asks if I want to allow the web address I'm on - WHICH IS ALREADY LISTED IN THE LIST THEY ARE SHOWING ME of allowed sites!

It is a bit different in Firefox mobile, you should be able to tap the icon next to the URL for the site (the favicon) and get a drop-down menu. Select Clear Site Preferences. Then reload the site. If you get the blue drop-down saying Firefox prevented windows from opening, select Show to allow them and then Reload.

I am unable to save plug-in gadgets in Blogger because I get a Javascript:void(0) message on pop-up window. Pop-up blocker is disabled, cache cleared. Help?

I am trying to add a plug-in gadget to my blogger blog. They use a pop-up window to configure the gadget and then a save button. When I am ready to save the plug-in I see a tiny message in the lower left of the pop-up window which says " Javascript:void(0)". I click "save" but the operation is not fully completed. Here is the strange part. The plug in does appear on my blog but I cannot edit it from the blog. When it was first installed, I could edit the plug-in but the changes would not be saved. Now I cannot edit as no editing buttons appear.
I have cleared my cache, have exempted the Blogger site from my pop-up blocker. I have rebooted. My Firefox plug-ins are all up to date. I have contacted the support for the company that makes the plug-in, they can't fix it. I tried to contact Google but that help pop-up box also did not work properly as it only allows me to sign in but then nothing more happens.
I don't want to have to refresh Firefox unless I have to... rebuilding what I have is going to take a lot of time.

Hi ACI wonder if you can share any responses on to your question above?I too have never used a script but, I have the same problems as you in regards to building a form. And wants to have the same 'protection' and message reminders for the end users. Any information, including a script and/or a contact email of experts you can share with me will help tremendously. Can't Disable Safari Pop-Up Blocker

I'm using Safari 5.1.7 on my iMac's OS X version 10.6.8 system, and am unable to get the pop-up blocker disabled. I enabled it a few days back to see the effect, and found that some of the sites I depend on did not display certain information that is useful to me. Now I can't disable the pop-up blocker. I've cleared the enable checkbox for the pop-up blocker in Safari > preferences > security, as well as making sure that Safari > Block Pop-Up Windows is deselected. I have also restarted the computer after selecting those options. All to no avail. I still don't receive many of the graphics that should be presented by the websites.

I found my problem! While fooling around with the machine, I had unchecked the box marked "Display images when the page opens" which is found under Safari > Preferences > Appearance. Putting a check in that box got the pages to load with everything viewable.

The spry pop-up menu I built in Adobe Dreamweaver worked fine in my old Firefox, I updated Firefox today and the menu no longer works--despite disabling the pop-up blocker in Firefox preferences...what's the problem??? I need the menu to work!!!

I built a new pop-up menu for my website using Spry in Adobe Dreamweaver. Because of some differences in .HTML and .XHTML
it took me days to get it right. I tested every variation in Firefox until it worked perfectly. Today, I installed the newest version of Firefox and now the pop-up no longer works. I changed the preferences in Firefox to disable to pop-up blocker and it STILL DOESN'T WORK...although an older style of pop-up menu (menu machine) which is no longer supported by Adobe, DOES WORK.
HELP!!! THIS IS IMPORTANT.

OP is using CS3 and the menu blog is talking about the menus
in earlier
versions of FW, so *most* of the points made in the blog
don't apply.
That's not to say that using CS3 pop-up menus is a *good*
thing....

I've a message concerning an issue with my recycle bin. I wish to chat with Microsofts Windows Fix-it Center online. The message that they send says: 'you must first temporarily disable your browsers pop-up blocker to enable this chat'. Nothing more, nothing less, sounds simple & innocuous, right? All my question is, is how can I accomplish this???

Virgin use the Optus network here in Australia - which is why, the 3G phones showed you connected to the Optus network, and not to the Virgin network...They don't have their own network, they piggyback on Optus - which is why it would show that it is locked to Optus!
They also said they would unlock my iPhone 4 - which has been done! So there's obviously something wrong with the phone...

I have disabled my pop up blocker in options, but I still can not access, among others, ebay's 'add tracking number' window, the image library on www.demandstudios.com and the log in pop up on my bank's website. Is there another place I have to disable the pop up blockers? I have virus checked my web book, emptied the cache etc.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
