  • Unable to install itunes 7 due to error "Bonjour service failed to start, verify you have sufficient privileges" mcafee is not blocking it, please help anyone?

I am unable to instal itunes (greater than version 7) as it gives me the error,"Bonjour service failed to start, verify you have sufficient privileges" , i have checked on apple support and the only help for this error says that mcafee antivirus is blocking the services however i have never had mcafee installed on my pc. Anyone any other ideas as to what could be wrong?

    Hi doywks,
The Apple Mobile Device is a component of iTunes that communicates between your computer and your iPhone or iOS device.  The error message you are seeing "verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" has to do with the Windows operating system.  It's possible that you are not logged in as the administrator for your Windows PC.  Or, you may have antivirus software stopping the Apple Mobile Device from running.
If you are having issues updating iTunes on your PC, follow the steps in the article below.

  • Unable to Download iTunes update

    Folks,
I am unable to download any Updates for iTunes. I get the following error message
"The update "iTunes" can't be installed. A network error has occurred: Cannot open file (-3001). Make sure you are connected to the internet, then try again"
I can confirm that I am connected to the internet and am surfing without any issues. Has anyone seen this error before and have any work around?
    Thanks

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

you will also have to update your operating system to 10.4.11 with these updates in this order:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1048updateintel .html
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1049updateintel .html
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx10410updatev11i ntel.html
    i hope those work!
NOTE: you will have to install these before the security update. don't install them if your operating system is already at 10.4.11. you can check your version by going to the apple menu and choosing About This Mac.

  • Unable to download apple updates due to problem with windows installer

I 'm unable to download updates on itunes, icloud on my computer because of problem with windows installer. How do I fix the problem?

  • Unable to install itunes update- says "trying to use an unavailable network resource"

    Hello-
I have been trying to update my itunes on my HP laptop, but it has not allowed me to. I have been on the phone with people trying to figure it out but they said that I would need to contact apple to get the solution.
before i get put on hold for hours, i was seeing if anyone else had this problem.
I have removed all itunes software from my control panel already and the only thing left are my music files. When I click the download off of the website, everything goes fine until it asks me to find another location for the update, which won't work.

Which particular .msi file does the message go on to say can't be found? (Several different ones can be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

  • Unable to install Itunes update on mac

This may sound stupid but I am not at all technology savvy. I tried updating my itunes from whatever it is currently to the latest update and it downloaded but won't install because it said my osx or something was too outdated? I have a MacBook I got on Ebay not too long ago and I believe it's a 2010. I never downloaded anything on it so it just has whatever came on it. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me figure out how to update this so I can sync music onto my phone!

First thing to do is click the apple again and click Software Update.  That should let you on-line update to 10.6.8.  Then you need to decide if you want to go to Lion, 10.7.5 or Mavericks, 10.9.1.
You can definitely go to Lion, to go to Mavericks your Mac must be in the compatible list, http://www.apple.com/osx/specs which it probably is.
If so, to go to Mavericks after the 10.6.8 update, click the App Store in Finder, Applications.  Then search for Mavericks, and you can purchase for on-line download for $20.

    Many thanks.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple Website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does it go through properly this time?

  • I have iphoto on my apple airwave. It is needing upated, but I am unable to update due to my exhusband. It was purchased under his itunes account. I can no longer even see my pics. What do I do.

I have iphoto on my apple airwave. It is needing upated, but I am unable to update due to my exhusband. It was purchased under his itunes account. I can no longer even see my pics. What do I do.

Can I back up my iPhoto library without being able to get into it? Such a mess.
Just try what LarryHN recommended. Move the iPhoto application from the Applications folder to the Trash, then go the main page of the App Store, sign into the store menu with your AppleID, enter iPhoto into the Search Field.  When iPhoto is found in the store, look, if you can buy it for free. Probably there will be a "Get" button beside the application. Then you can install it for free.
Before you run the newly installed iPhoto, make sure you have a backup.  You should really not risk to run a new iPhoto version on your iPhoto library, before you copied the iPhoto Library to a different drive.
iPhoto needs to convert the library to a different format, and that can go wrong in rare cases, but it happens. You simply need to have a copy of your library before you risk the library upgrade.

  • HT1386 Unable to update due to apple icon stuck. Can't connect to iTunes due to unable to put in passcode

I had the same problem. It appears that the servers chuck a hissy fit if you don't download your purchases in a timely fashion. I used the 'report a problem' feature in my iTunes account to contact customer support via email. They replied about 24 hours later, reset my download cue and the problem has now been resolved.
Hope this helps you solve your issue.

  • I am unable to install iTunes due to update (vista)

I was prompted to update my iTunes to the latest version (along with QuickTime). when I clicked update, it deleted the old iTunes and made a shortcut, but I am unable to use iTunes or QuickTime. when I tried to reinstall them it opened the installer and just when it was almost done (publishing product information) it brings up a message saying   "An error occurred durring the intallation or assembly 'mictosoft. VC80.CRT,type=''win32" , version="8.0.50727.6195" ,publicKeyToken=" 1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b" .processorArchitecture="x86'" .please refer to help and support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736FD"

I finally got the program to install/run.  I downloaded a third copy and saved it again on the desktop.  I selected "Run as Administrator" instead of "Run"  It must have been the 10th plus time I tried to install, but this time it completed.  I don't know if the "Run as Administrator" was the key since it is Vista, or if I just got lucky. Either way I am relieved.
