Unable to Download Adobe Flashplayer

I am an owner of a 13 inch macbook. My computer said I needed to download adobe flash player in order to watch videos on certain websites, i.e. facebook. So, facebook gave me a link to the adobe page where it offered to let me download i clicked the download and the installation window came up, I agreed to the terms of use, and I picked a location for it to download and it was all ready to install, when I actually clicked instal it told me that i needed to quit safari and dashboard client in order to continue, but neither are open. When I highlighted one of them and clicked quit it said "The following install step failed: run preflight script for Adobe Flash Player. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." Please help me get adobe to work!

Welcome to the Forums!
DashboardClient processes run in the background (e.g. widgets that update their data periodically). You can quit the Dashboard entirely using something like this:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/dashquit.html
By the way, you've posted in the iPhone section of the forums. For questions on your MacBook, try that section:

  • Unable to download Adobe Flashplayer update.

I have downloaded Adobe Flashplayer updates but videos still blocked. What should I look for?

    Hey gilbertfreedman,
Could you please tell me what version of Adobe Flash Player are you using.
From where have you been trying to download Flash Player updates?
Do you get any specific error message? What is it?
You might try installing the latest version of Flash Player from the link mentioned below:
Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions
Let me know if this helps.

  • Unable to install adobe flashplayer on mac 10.9.2

Hi I recently upgraded to 10.9.2 and I am unable to install Adobe Flashplayer on Safari.  I've done an uninstall and downloaded and tried to reinstall but it hangs a little more than halfway.  All I get is an error message saying there's an error - no specifics.
Any help here please?  Thanks in advance!

Are you trying to install this: Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.77?
I would suggest doing the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    Try installing Flash again.

  • Downloading Adobe Flashplayer on netbook NB100

I am unable to download/update Flashplayer (so that I can acess Youtube) - it seems to download OK, but I get an error message 'the download did not pass the integrity check'.

    Hi
I think you should download the flash player manually.
    For example from this page:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Store this on the HDD and close all applications which are running on your notebook.
Then try to execute the ex file again.
I never had any problems with the flash player installation.
Maybe there is something wrong with your installed OS ?:|
Try to clean the OS and the registry using an 3rd party free tool called CCLeaner and then try the flash player again

  • I have been unable to download adobe acrobat pro, which I purchased on a month to month basis almost exactly 1 year ago, since I purchased it. I just received a renewal email and it had a link to download the program and for the first time when I clicked

I have been unable to download adobe acrobat pro, which I purchased on a month to month basis almost exactly 1 year ago, since I purchased it. I just received a renewal email and it had a link to download the program and for the first time when I clicked on the link it actually sent me to a page that had the icon to download now. I clicked on that, but when I went to open the file and start downloading after about 3 minutes into downloading it says an error had occurred. Can anyone help me?

I am a little worried. If you are an existing subscriber why would Adobe need you to download... I wonder if the message is a fake.
I'm not clear, if you've had it for a year, whether you need to download, or you are just following the email?
This page with the icon to download now. Was it a page on adobe.com ?

    Hi Dave,
I'm sorry you are having issues. Maybe this will help.
Installation rules will let you install the software on two computers. If you have only installed it once, you should be able to install it on the other computer. If you have already installed the software twice and you don't have access to your previous computer or you upgraded your computer's hardware, replace a hard drive, upgraded your operating system, or reformatted your drive before deactivating your software, you can ask Adobe Support to help you deactivate the software from the machine. Just have your serial number or Adobe ID ready, and then contact support. Then you can install the software from the link below and enter your serial number to re-activate the software.

  • Is it safe to download adobe flashplayer from the internet?T

Is it safe to download adobe flashplayer from the internet. I am new in the Apple environment and my MacBook asks me whether I am sure I want to proceed?
    Thanks,
    T

If you never installed Flash before you should Cancel and download it directly here
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Once it's installed it will perform a update check when you use Flash and a gray window will popup letting you know to update the browser plug-in called Flash.
If you see such a window, you should quit your browser(s) immediatly and if the window remains, proceed with the update.
You will have to quit all open browser(s) anyway to install the update.
You will need to provide your password for the update.
There is a tiny check box on the left that needs to be clicked if the "install" button doesn't seem to work.
If you don't want to update Flash, you should remove it from your computer as older versions are a very high security risk.
It is not unusual, to have what may appear to be, many updates to Flash. It is updated often for security issues. As well as Silverlight.
Bookmark this link to check your browser plug in status.
    https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
Note: The white window with "Adobe Flash Player Install Manager" with the "Deny" and "Allow" buttons you will not see, that's security software called LittleSnitch, that I have installed to warn me of any unusual outgoing Internet connections.
