Unable to download all photos from iphone to the laptop

I have updated the portable devices software, it was already upto date anyway.I just want to automatically transfer all phots, inc videos and folders in the photo folder to my laptop but I am unable to do this .Please help.

You can only transfer photos in the Camera Roll; photos in the Photo App's folders other than the Camera Roll were synced from a computer, and can only be managed from that computer. If it is Camera Roll photos that you are having trouble with see: Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer

1 - have a bit of patience - 1 minute is not really a long time
2 - since you provide absolutely no information only guesses can be made  -- the best way is PhotoStream - other ways including connecting your iPhone and syncing using iTune  or importing

How can I download my photos from iphoto to the external hard disk? thanks!

This is our resident iPhoto guru, Terence Devlin's, advice:
You can move your iPhoto Library to an external disk or new Mac:
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

I'm having the same issue.  i have imported everything but the offending photo from my iPhone.  problem is, with over 5000 pics, i have no idea how to find THAT ONE pic that won't import (bc I just get a greyed out pic image - with no data in iPhoto)
any idea how to get "date taken" info of THAT ONE pic out of iPhoto (or any metadata) so I don't have to search 3 years of pictures?

  • How do I remove all photos from iPhone 5 camera roll to Mac?

How do I remove all 4000 photos from iPhone 5 camera roll to Mac?

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. When there are photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll, it is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer.
With a Mac, you can use iPhoto for this if you use iPhoto for photo management on your Mac. If not, you can use the Image Capture application for the import. Both include an option to delete all photos/videos from the Camera Roll after the import process is complete.

  • Unable to download crash logs from iPhone 5  into MacBook Air 10.8.4

    Hi All,
I' am new to mac world. Apologies if this is a very basic question.
I have an iPhone 5 and and I would like to download my app's crash reports into my MacBook Air 10.8.4 for further ivestigation.
    What I did was:
    1. Connect device
    2. open iTunes and click sync (sync successful)
    3. Now all my photos that I took using my iPhone are visible in Macbook's iPhotos (until this - very good)
    Now,
    4. Open up a Terminal app
    5. put ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/ to download my iPhone app's crash logs, assuming they would all have synced, but unfortunately it doesn't look like it has even got CrashReporter/MobileDevice/ forlder created in my ~/Library/Logs/ directory.
Any help to download all the iPhone 5 app crash logs into my Macbook would be really very appreciated.
(Please also let me know if I need to change any setting in my iPhone that will allow me to download my crash logs from Diagnostics section into my Macbook)

  • Downloading & Organizing photos from iPhone

Is there a program I can use - not iPhoto - to download photos from my iPhone and organize them into folders by date? (I've seen suggestions of Image Capture, but I don't know if I can make it organize by date).  Or is there a way to use the automator to sort my photos after downloading them with Image Capture?
I'm using Snow Leopard on a macbook pro.

You can import photos that were captured by your iPhone along with any photos saved from a received email or from a website, which are stored in your iPhone's camera roll.
The iTunes sync process for photos from your computer to your iPhone is a one way transfer process only - from your computer to your iPhone. Photos transferred from your computer to your iPhone are optimized for viewing on your iPhone. If you are able to transfer these photos in the other direction, the original resolution of these photos will be lost.
I believe there is a 3rd party utility that provides for this, but such a utility is not supported by Apple and if this is successful, the original resolution of these photos will be lost.
Why didn't you include all photos stored on your computer's hard drive with your computer's backup before reformatting your computer's hard drive, and why did you have to reformat your MacBook's hard drive? Did you create a backup or update your existing computer's backup for any important data that was stored on your computer's hard drive before reformatting the drive?
The iPhone is not designed nor intended to be a backup storage device, and should not be considered as such.
I don't believe I've ever had to reformat the hard drive with any Mac I've owned.

  • "Over capacity": How can I delete photos from iPhone / set the maximum capacity of iCloud photos to be downloaded to iPhone?

    Hi,
My iPhone regularily goes over capacity because it stores, or tries to store, too many photos/videos from iCloud on the device.
How can I delete photos from the iPhone (but not generally from iCloud/Photostream). How can set the maximum capacity of iCloud photos to be downloaded to iPhone? (I am searching for a setting like "keep the last 2GB of photos/videos from iCloud/Photostream, but not more than that. I know how to turn iCloud off in total, but that is not what I would prefer to do, I just would like to set reasonable maximum.)
    Thank you for your ideas!
Generally, I someone could point me to a good tutorial on how local photos vs. iCloud photos vs. Photostream are supposed to work that would be great as well, because I have many other problem with Apple's system in that regard as well (esp., despite that obviously a lot of space is taken up by photos/videos on my device, my iPhone still downloads recent photos/videos over 3G... I also have the problem that all photos appear double if I try to copy to my Mac with ImageCapture or iPhoto, but there is only a single copy (no HDR, burst or the like) when seen with the Photos.app of the iPhone itself... I came to believe that Apple's photo system is somewhere between counterintuitive and plainly not working... (/rant off) )

Sorry there are no settings to set max capacity.

  • Can't download all photos from phone to mac, should I turn off photo stream?

I took my mac air, iPhone 5, iPad 2 into the Apple store last week. We set up Photo Stream. Now I can't get all photos off my phone so that I can share them on FB. I can see them in the phone but they are only on laptop in the Stream not on hard drive

Make sure you have the iPhoto/Photo Stream preferences set to import all PS photos:
Be aware that many users are having problems with uploading photos to Facebook from inside iPhoto on their Macs.  The workaround is to export the photos to the Desktop and upload them to FB with your browser.

  • Photo Stream fails to load all photos from iPhone to Aperture (3.3.2)

using Aperture 3.3.2 on macbook pro with mountain lion - photos that do get imported are from other projects (aperture library on imac), and iphone photos don't get imported. Tried several things: turning off and turning on photo sharing from all devices, checking to make sure that no conflicts exist between iphoto, aperture, that shared Aperture libraries are sync'ed.
Also, tried to insert ONE photo from existing Aperture library into photostream. After 4 hours, no synchronization on any mobil device (iphone, ipads). Tried turning off photo stream in iphone and restarting it ..no problem recreating the stream...
Any ideas what to try? I'm stumped.
    Thanks in advance

Photostream only uploads the photos taken (or imported to the device) AFTER you enable Photostream.  Photos from prior to Photostream being turned on will not upload.  You could just take screenshots of the older photos to create 'new' images, or transfer your photos to your computer manually.
