Unable to download i-Tunes due to page errors

Hello, I have a really odd, but annoying problem. Please allow me to explain the history of my problems. Unfortunately I am a moderately knowledgeable computer user, but I can't seem to figure out what's wrong and no one else I know who knows more than me can figure it out, either. I have been in the process of switching computers and OS's. I have my original computer back, which is a Dell laptop. I need to download i-tunes again. The OS I am using is Vista with the service pack 1. Unfortunately I am having various webpage issues, not just on i-Tunes websites but on every other site I try to go to. I have a screen shot which I saved of the way the webpage looks when I try to download i-Tunes 7.6.2. Basically, most of the page seems to laod fine, but images have an error on them and the left-side pane of the screen where I should be able to download i-Tunes from loads with an IE error. My internet connection is fine and stable. Any ideas? The worst part about this is that I use my computer for everything and I can't seem to find anyone who can help. This computer was not bought by me, but was provided to me through a work program. We've already gone through many steps to try to resolve this issue, including not using Vista anymore but returning to XP. My bf has Vista Ultimate with the service pack and his works fine. Thanks in advance for any advice, help, ideas you can offer.
Is there a way for me to include the screen shot of the problem I am having? Thanks again!

I'm not sure exactly what fixed the problem, but I double-checked Windows Update (my computer is automatically set to check/download updates at 3am, but this time I opened up Windows Update and check-marked the 3 optional updates. Unfortunately I can't remember what these were called, but 2/3 installed correctly and the 3rd did not. Suddenly several webpage errors were resolved on other websites so I tried downloading iTunes 7.6.2 again. I was able to see the necessary info to download instead of the IE error. iTunes installed correctly. I'm working on fixing my library right now.

  • AD4J: Unable to start Heap Dump due to OS Error

When Java 'Heap Dump' is requested, the following message is shown:
Unable to start Heap Dump due to OS Error.
Details of the monitored JDK and application server are given below:
JDK: Sun JDK 1.4.2_08 on Solaris 9
    Application Server: WebLogic 8.1 SP4
    1. What could be the possible cause? No errors are logged in jamserv/logs/error_log. Is there any way to enable detailed logging?
    2. Each time the heap dump is requested, a file of the format heapdump<n> gets created in /tmp (e.g. /tmp/heapdump12.txt). If you see the file, it contains the following:
    a) a line containing summary of the heap usage, and
    b) stack traces of all the threads

  • Unable to download music as I get an error - Timed Out Try later

Every time I log into Itunes and attempt to download a tune, I get a message saying 'Timed - Out' try later.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I have seen previous versions mentioned in a pop up message before on iCloud.com, but I'm not really sure at all how it would help, as I couldn't get it to do anything.
The best advice I have at this time is to back up your work on your iOS device by regularly saving it to iTunes, if anything goes wrong you can then either load it into the numbers app again on the device or recover it via iTunes on your computer.
My syncs are immediate, I never get chance to see if it works in the background, sorry.

  • Unables to download i tunes

I'm getting the error message "apple application support was not found, apple application support is required to run i tunes. please uninstall i tunes, then install i tunes again, error 2,"
Tried to reinstall with no success

If you're running Vista, I'd start with the troubleshooting article that rvance2 linked you to in his reply, chris. *Note carefully:* While you're in "Uninstall a program" removing software, also be sure to uninstall Bonjour. (At the time of posting, that article neglects to include the instructions for you to do that.)

  • Unable to update I-tunes due to Quicktime

I just bought my second I-Pod. This one is the new version so I can not use it on I-tunes 6. I tried to update my i-tunes to the 7 version. I cannot uninstall the old version of quick time to install the new version. Since I cannot install the new version of quick time it will not allow me to install the new i-tunes update. I tried to uninstall manually but my computer will not allow me.

    Have a read of this,

by the way, I believe that you already known that iTunes 7 has already included QuickTime software.

  • Unable to Download i-tunes 8.0.2

Here is the message that appears when I try:
A networking error has occurred: Cannot open file (-3001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again.
I am connected to the Internet. What else could it be?
    Thanks.

Check if you can download it from Apple's website:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/
If it downloads there but not Software update, it may indicate your Software Update software is corrupted.
See this article on repairing software update, if you can download it from Apple's website but not Software Update:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1569
If you have trouble downloading it with your web browser, how much disc space do you have? How big a hard drive do you have? Is the trouble there also when iTunes is quit from its menu? Do you have any other internet monitoring, download, or firewall software or hardware on the system? What kind of internet service provider are you using?

  • Unable to download apps..I get an error

    - My sister gave me her old iPod touch (2nd gen).
    - It is currently running iOS 3.1.1
(I am unable to upgrade to iOS 4 as I understand that I need OSX 10.5 or higher...and I only have 10.4.11 on my iMac)
-I have erased all content and reset the iPod touch.
    - I downloaded iTunes 9...turned on the iPod...and synced it to my iMac and iTunes.
    - I currently can not connect to the iTunes store with my iMac as I have Safari 3...and the store need Safari 4. (Which I am downloading)
    - I have a very strong wifi connection established on my iPOd...and can surf the web, connect to the App/iTunes store.
I connected the iPod touch to the App store and tried to download a "Free" ap..just to see if itwould work. I tried to download "MLB lite"...and I entered my Apple ID. The touch then appeared to try and download the app, and I saw the "MLB lite" icon appear semi-transparant on my home screen...but then I got a message that said it could not download the application.
I then tried to log into iTunes with my Apple id...but nothing really happened. It did not confirm I logged in, the "Sign in" button was still there.
I set up my Apple ID back in 2007...and have never used it. I noticed that if you create a new Apple id now...youhave to enter an email address as your id...but my old id is just a name. Could this be the problem?

  • I am unable to download itunes. i keep getting an error, not susfficient priviledge

    i have a new laptop, windows 8.

    Hello Karen,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It seems like you're trying to install iTunes on your new Windows laptop, but you get an error about "insufficient privileges." Try the following tips to troubleshoot this situation:
Make sure that you're logged in to your computer as an administrator.
If you're not sure if you have an administrator account, read Windows 7: How do I log on as an administrator? You can also refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Install the latest Microsoft Windows updates.
To download the latest updates, visit the Microsoft Windows Update website. iTunes for Windows requires Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8, with the latest Service Pack installed. If you can’t install the updates, refer to your computer's help system, contact your IT department, or visit support.microsoft.com for assistance.
Visit the iTunes download page. Click Download Now to download the iTunes installer. When prompted, click Save (instead of Run).
Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup (the installer you downloaded in step 3).
If you have Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Choose "Run as administrator."
If you have Windows XP: Choose Open.
If you've previously installed iTunes, the installer will prompt you to repair the software.
After the repair is complete, restart your computer and try launching iTunes.
