Did you try using FireFox (or any other browser)?

Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site.
What internet site? Of more specifically, what exact URL is in your IE's address bar when you get that message?
It might simply be that the site's server is 'offline'.

By the way. Keep trying it occasionally.

I doubt anyone can offer much help without more specific and exact details from you.
Edit 1:
Now that I note that this thread was ['crossposted'|http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5304280] I am very inclined not to offer further help. You might want to consider never doing that again.

  • Why can't I download Firefox on Internet Explorer? I tried everything but it won't download. Thanks.

    I went the homepage. It says "Thanks for downloading", but nothing is downloaded. Did Internet Explorer prevent this?

    It's hard to say. Could you try one of the "full" installers on this page to see whether it works better (scroll down to your preferred language):

  • Blank line in file, but if you download it with Internet Explorer. (??)

    Hello guys.
    I have a new qestion for you.
    My problem is this:
    I have a report that creates a file in Unix.
    When I read that file from an Abap program, the file it's ok. When I download it from a web based system the file has a blank line at the end of the file.
    I tried the CR+FL solution, tried specifying the length of the record in the transfer.
    Nothing works.
    The most strange thing is that if I download the file accesing from Firefox browser, the file it's ok, but with Internet Explorer the bloddy blank line appears...
    Do you have any idea on how to solve this????

    A Z program creates the file (text) in Unix.
    Then, the users download the file using a web application. Just access to the server and download the file to your computer.
    I did a little z program to check if the file was being created correctly (without the blank line), and yes, the file it's ok.
    But I realized that the problem, maybe, is related to the web browser used to access that page.
    So, my question is: Did someone had a similar problem?

  • How to download firefire using internet explorer

    I am visiting my daughter and she just got a new computer. windows7
    She has been using internet explorer. I have been trying to download firefox all night but it keeps saying internet explorer cannot display the webpage, only on firefox's page. ???? Is there an other way to download firefox? Even tried using download.com

    Try downloading the "Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe" setup file from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.13/win32/en-US/
    That is the English (US) version, if you want another language click on the "Parent Directory" link, then choose the folder for the language you want.

  • Problem downloading file in Internet Explorer

    Hi, I have a problem with Internet Explorer. I want to click on a link that references a file with .dat extension, then select "Open" option and view the file in Notepad (I have the mapping with .dat files and Notepad). When I click on it, if I select "Save" option, the file is stored in disk correctly. But if I select Open opcion, Notepad opens with an error dialog:
    Can't find file C:\Documents and Settings\TANDIL\Configuracin local\Archivos temporales de Internet\Content.IE5\LZR539BK\Mensuales.dat
    Do you want to create a new file?
    I think that IE doesn't copy the file correctly in temp directory ...
    In my java class I set the response like this:
         resp.setContentType("binary/octet-stream");
         resp.addHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + lote.getNombreArchivo()+ "\""); //el nombre de estos archivos son del tipo XXXXXXX.dat
         OutputStream out = null;
         try {
              out = resp.getOutputStream();
         } catch (IOException e) {
              e.printStackTrace();
    out = new java.io.BufferedOutputStream(out);
         copy(lote.getArchivo().getBinaryStream(), out); // lote.getArchivo().getBinaryStream() : es un array de bytes que se copian en la salida
         out.close();
    I set the response in differente ways, but I can't solve the problem ...
    resp.setContentType("application/octet-stream");
    resp.setContentType("text/plain");
    resp.setContentType("aplication/force-download");
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    I think you will get better answers if you post this question in a web related forum. The problem is not related to java but rather to http/html.

  • ActiveX controls not downloaded when using Internet Explorer 10

    We have many legacy applications developed using ASP and VB(InterDev). Our organization is moving to use Internet Explorer 10 in the near future.
    We had a IE10 compatibility testing for our legacy applications and we observed that the applications using ActiveX controls are not working. Applications works perfectly fine with the older version of Internet Explorer.
    We looked for the various workarounds but we did not find any.
    Some application does nothing when we click on a button to generate the report but some applications throws the below error:
    <div id="x_x_imcontent"> <div style="font-size: 9pt; direction: ltr;">"ActiveX
    control failed to load! -- This control is required to use the Address Book and Attachment features.  Please check your browser security settings and/or contact PC Support to install the digitally signed control."</div>
    </div>
    We will be glad if we get any assistance on this issue.

    Hi,
    Please post your ActiveX feature testing scripts to the IE Web Developer forum.
    (f12>Debug tab, search for ActiveX.... you should be able to find code blocks where you are feature testing for your ActiveX controls eg var ourcontrol=new ActiveX('foobar');
    these code blocks will be the origin of the error messages that are injected into the page. (you can also search for where the "ActiveX control failed to load" string is in your code.)
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/ie/en-US/home?forum=iewebdevelopment
    IE10 has ActiveX filtering.... a blue circle with a line through it appears in the Address bar if any ActiveX content is blocked by Tools>ActiveX filtering.
    IE10 has Enhanced protected Mode turned on by default in the Internet and Restricted Zones. I assume that you are mapping your test domain to the Intranet zone (where EPM is turned off by default and x32 bit controls are used.... if not you should see information
    bars asking for permission to run the 32bit activeX controls)
    Ensure you are using the Default IE security settings, (and also that you have applied the new admx files to your GPO and GPEdit control panels....)
    Tools>Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
    Ensure your test environment maps to the Intranet Zone (File>Properties) and that Enhanced Protected Mode is turned off for that zone (Security tab of Internet Options)
    Ensure that your ActiveX controls are enabled (Tools>Manage Addons>Show all Addons) and that they have the correct permissions..... find them in the Addons manager and then click the item in the list to display their properties and permissions... at
    the bottom of the Addons Properties there is a textarea with "You have approved this addon to run in the follow websites"... you testing and production domains should be listed.
    For the best solutions/answers you should probably open a support ticket at support.microsoft.com so a support engineer can access your testing environment and do some tests.
    Regards.

  • Application Unable to start Java inside Internet Explorer

    Hi Good afternoon
    Since last round of MS Win 8.1 PRO x64 Updates as of 16/11/2014, JAVA version 1.8 build 25 cant start inside Internet Explorer v11.0.14 Update KB: 3003057.
    Even After Updating to EMET v5.1.5426
    For example Cisco NetAcademy Environment Checker:
    EMET detected ASR mitigation in IEXPLORE.EXE
    ASR check failed:
      Application : C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
      User Name : XXX\abc
      Session ID : 1
      PID : 0xEBC (3772)
      TID : 0x1AB4 (6836)
      Module : jp2iexp.dll
      Web address : http://skills.netacad.net/check/check.html
      Url zone : Internet
    If ASR is disabled in Internet Explorer everything runs flawlessly.
    Please review EMET policies

    stefancpt wrote:
    I am not able to run Java 1.7u71 in IE 11 on any 32 bit Windows 7 PC. I also have EMET 5.1 installed. I have added the website to the Trusted Sites list but it does not work unless I disable ASR. It only seems to work on 64 bit Windows 7 PCs. Is anyone else
    experiencing this?
    This is what was logged in the event log:
    EMET detected ASR mitigation in iexplore.exe
    ASR check failed:
      Application     : C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
      User Name     : xxx
      Session ID     : 2
      PID         : 0xFE0 (4064)
      TID         : 0x1014 (4116)
      Module     : jp2iexp.dll
    When I browse to http://javatester.org/version.html (a site which uses Java but doesn't belong to my trusted sites) I get this message:
    I don't get a EMET mitigation warning from the EMET 5.1 icon in the system tray (anymore) which I used to get with EMET 5.0. I also don't get a event in the application event log! When I add the site to the trusted sites Java starts and asks for permission
    to start the applet because it isn't signed.
    The message that the page requires Java is confusing because a user might think that Java isn't installed and may try to install Java again (and maybe not from the official install page but from a page with malware)....
    Can you check some settings? Open the GUI of EMET 5.1, goto Apps, select IExplore.exe and click on 'Show All Setting'. You should see something like the image below.
    Is the 'Trusted sites' zone selected?

  • UNABLE TO TRANSFER BOOKMARKS FROM INTERNET EXPLORER SINCE I UPDATED F/FOX

    i had an earlier version of firefox and kept my bookmarks but when i updated f/fox i lost the b/marks
    can you please send me easy instructions as i am a beginner
    many thanks
    joe

    Firefox tries to keep bookmarks when you update it. If however you use the option saying something like "delete settings" it will delete all settings and profile detail for all installed versions of firefox.
    If you still have bookmarks on Internet Explorer, you could reimport them again. It is sometimes possible using recovery software to get bookmarks back that have been deleted see this [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/787020 thread] <-- clickable link -- ''"I deleted by mistake bookmarks by uninstalling the previous version of Firefox beta 4.011b... Is there anyway to recover them?"''

  • What Java to download for my Internet Explorer browser?

    Hi,
    When I hear that I need Java for my Interner Explorer
    browser, which Java package/installer do I need to install:
    the Java Runtime Environment ?Java Virtual machine?
    I have Internet Explorer 6.0.2.
    I want to discard the Microsoft Java Virtual machine
    and use the Java from Sun.

    usually, you want to install the latest release..and that would be Java 1.5 JRE.
    Having the lastest JRE means that you can run the most updated application written in 1.5 and compiled in 1.5.
    however, i noticed that after installation of the Tiger JRE, Java applet seems to load much slower (take twice to three times longer than using 1.4.2)...so, for me..i removed 1.5 and reinstalled 1.4.2 on my computer

  • Can't download - error message: 'internet explorer is not working'

    I can't even download AR. whenever I try to run the download I get the above error message and the dowload closes down.
    Running:
    Windows Vista Basic
    Dell Inspiron Laptop

    Internet Explorer is FAR outdated for the Mac.  Microsoft stopped supporting it... Therefor, the application does not work with Lion in any way.  You cannot, and SHOULD NOT, be using IE for ANYTHING.  Use Safari, the built in Mac browser, Google Chrome, or Firefox.

  • Unable to download maps from internet

    I've created a slideshow from an album, and upon selecting the places theme, iPhoto attempts to download maps. Eventually however it timesout with the message 'to create a places sideshow, you must be connected to the internet' - yet internet is not dropping.
    The slideshow is large (created from an album of 500 visible (200 hidden) images). Are there constraints to the size of a slideshow (i'm not running out of disk space). I've had some mixed success with downloading maps for different variations of the slideshow, however lately its consistently failing.
    I'm a novice with iPhoto so may be doing something fundamentally wrong.
    thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Did you go back to the iPhoto/Advanced preference pane and make sure "Look up places" is set to "Automatically"?

  • I keep getting, "Unable to connect". Yet Internet Explorer works fine.

    I've been trying to get to the web, but keep getting the above message, followed by, "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at mozilla.com."
    IE connects just fine, so it's not a connection problem with my modem, or provider. I even tried typing mozilla.com, and nothing but the error message. This follows an incident before logging off last night, in which my firefox windows suddenly went full screen (no search window, toolbar, etc).
    What gives?

    It may be due to your firewall. Try this: [[Cannot connect after upgrading Firefox]]

  • Adobe Reader 11 is unable to open PDF's from Internet Explorer 11

    My boss is currently operating on the Adobe Reader 11 and often needs to use Internet Explorer 11 for certain programs.
    Unfortunately the Adobe Reader is unable to open PDFs from Internet Explorer and often comes up with a message telling us that the file is either damaged, no longer exists or that there is a problem with the syntax.  She does not have this problem with Google Chrome.  We have tried several ideas regarding the security settings but nothing seems to correct the problem.  Could someone shed some light on how to fix this error?
