Unable to download OS X Mavericks -- Is there a CD available?

My MAC meets all criteria to do the upgrade (Model 2009, Lion 10.7.5). On the first attempt to download, I was able to see the download icon for a short period. Then it disappeared. After several other attempts, I get a short "time" circle, then nothing. I was told my network connection is too slow. Is the OS X Mavericks available via cd?

It's only available via the App Store.

  • Why am I unable to download OS X Maverick?

My system is currently running OS X Lion, has 4 GB of memory and 188 GB of free space. It's a MacBook, 13-inch, late 2007. I realize that my system is not on the list but I noticed that some late 2007 systems are allowed to download OS X Mavericks. If my system meets the download requirements, other than the year, why can I not download OS X Maverick?
    Thanks.

As QuickTimeKirk posted, your machine is not on the supported list. That's the first requirement before any others are checked.
To install Mavericks, you need one of these Macs:
    iMac (Mid-2007 or later)
MacBook (13-inch Aluminum, Late 2008), (13-inch, Early 2009 or later)
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid-2009 or later),
    MacBook Pro (15-inch or 17-inch, Mid/Late 2007 or later)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or later)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or later)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or later)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
      Your Mac also needs:
OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, or Snow Leopard v10.6.8 already installed
2 GB or more of memory
8 GB or more of available space

  • Since I updated to ios 5.1.1 I'm getting " Unable to download podcast" error? Is there any fix for this?

How can I fix unable to download podcast error, even if I retry it gives me the same message with all the podcasts I have in my iPhone. How can I fix this?

Are you seeing the same message with Apple's Podcasts app? More info about the Podcasts app here -> About the Podcasts app for iOS
Is this happening with all podcasts? Maybe the server that hosts that podcast is down or it's having problems, try testing with one of the other top rated podcasts.

  • Unable to download OS X Mavericks 10.9.4

When I try to install OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 it will install and I can see it in my systems but the APP Store still shows that I have updates needed. I've been trying to use iTunes to restore my iPad mini but getting an error that iTunes needs to be updated, I've also tried to install each one individually. This is an issue on both my MacBook Pro and iMac. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A little more details of the situation:
So both my MacBook Pro and my iMAC are showing that there is new software that needs to updated which are apart of the OS X 10.9.4 update combo, take it my computer is updated to 10.9.4 but in the app update section it shows I need yo update the iTunes  11.4, iBook 1.0.1 and Safari 7.0.6... Now when you look at the bottom of the updates at the "Updates installed in the last 30 days" all of the above are updated.
But the issues are: I can't get rid of that red 1 for updates (yes I've tried putting the time into the future 6 months and longer no help) and
I'm trying to restore my iPad and Apple TV which neither MacBook Pro or iMac are allowing it because it is saying unable to connect to network which clearly I'm connected to the internet... I'm using Verizon for home internet as well.
    - I've tried installing the above individually but it keeps saying calculating yet no movement left it up for over 24 hours with numerous reboots... about ready to throw both out the window..

  • Unable to download OS X Mavericks through app store

I've tried all day to download but it wont do anything. Need help

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

  • HT201364 why can't I download os x mavericks my computer is brand new It keeps defaulting the computer is out of date

Why am I unable to download os x mavericks on my new macbook pro with retina

Because the brand new (late 2013) models come with a version of Mavericks tailored to the new hardware.
Eventually there will be a version you'll be able to download, but the App Store version doesn't currently have the necessary drivers to successfully run your machine.  Check your build number - it's different to the App Store build of 13A603.

  • Why can't i download os x mavericks

unable to download os x mavericks not sure any ideas

You might not have the mavericks installer installed (check your applications folder). Here's the solution:
    1. Shut down your mac
    2. Press & hold shift key and then hit the powe button (Do not let go of shift key yet)
    3. This will allow you to boot up in "safe mode"
    4. Once you see a gray screen with an Apple logo and a progress bar, you can release the shift key
    5. Safe Mode takes longer to boot because it's correcting problems such as missing software
    6. Once you're booted up in safe mode, open the Apps folder and download Mavericks
    7. You will see a progress bar in the LaunchPad screen
At first it appears that nothing is happening. But it's a huge file, over 5GB. It will take approximately 3-4hr to download depending on your internet speed. I recommend not allowing your mac to go to sleep during the download.
Let me know if this helps!

  • Unable to download Mavericks OS X

Hello, it is unable to download Mavericks OS X. Is there a server Problem?

I tried it and do not get any error messages. Do you see a specific message when trying to download it from the App store?

  • Unable to download mavericks

I am unable to download Mavericks to my iMac. I am currently running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63) on an Intel cpu. I follow the App store prompts (after logging in) and I can activate the Mavericks upgrade but only for a second or two. No downloads occur. ( I look at the list of downloads to confirm this. I did initiate a dowload about a month ago but I had to abort the download part way through. Now, it won't. I have tried re-booting my system and logging out and back into the App store, but this does not help.
Any solutions out there? TY in advance.
    Danny M.

Create new account on your mac, log in to that account, open App Store and try to download Mavericks.

  • Also unable to download Mavericks

Hello! First of all, yes, I have looked through many other threads about this same problem, and I have followed the directions given there, but I am still unable to download Mavericks from the App Store.
    I'm using a mid-2009 13-inch MacBook Pro, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, currently running 10.7.5.
When I go at Mavericks through the apple site, it prompts me to launch the App Store application. I do that, and get the page for it in the App Store. I click on the Download button, I get a brief little wheel up in the top bar of the App Store page, then nothing happens. I click on Purchases, and I see OS X Mavericks there with a Download button. I click this Download button and again get a wheel at the top of the page that spins for a moment, then nothing happens.
I have let it sit for hours, hoping it would get going eventually as some people have said it does. I have restarted several times, logged out of the App Store and back in again several times. I have followed the links that people have posted in other threads about troubleshooting this process, but nothing has seemed to make any difference, and most of them haven't even addressed this particular issue.
Any other ideas? Do I just need to keep restarting and trying again and again?
Thanks in advance for your help...
    Rosemary

Ok, finally had the chance to try some other things, and still no luck. I have tried with a different internet connection, and still got the same results. Then a friend who has successfully downloaded Mavericks logged on through my computer with his apple ID, went into his purchases and tried downloading Mavericks through there, and the same thing happened. There just seems to be some kind of blockage on my computer or something. Any other ideas?
    Thanks,
    Rosemary

  • I cannot download Mavericks and there is no Launchpad, App store, or iTunes on my Macbook Pro. What do I do?

My Macbook Pro recently had Leopard 10.5.8 oprating system, but I want Mavericks. I know that I need at least Snow Leopard or above, so I purchased Snow Leopard. I installed it once and everything looked good. I navigated to the app store, signed in, and proceeded to click download on the Mavericks upgade. An icon went to my dock like it was downloading, but it immediately paused itself and when I clicked resume, the download would not resume. I canceled the download and tried clicking download Mavericks again in the app store, but it still would not download. I went to go look at the progress in Launchpad, but I then realized that the Launchpad application was not in my dock. I opened a Finder window, navigated to applications, and searched for the Launchpad application, but it was not there either. I scoured the internet, including the Apple communities, for answers but I could not find any help at all. By this time I had sat through all the software updates and the operating system was at 10.6.8 with a "no new software" message when I checked for new software. Even then, there was still no Launchpad and Mavericks still would not download. I then proceeded to pop the Snow Leopard disc in again and reinstall. After I waited for it to finish, there is still no Launchpad and now my iTunes and App store have disappeared with a question mark on the dock in their place. After I realized this, I attempted to navigate through Safari in search of more help, but the laptop would not respond to my type and it seemed to redirect me every time I tried to post a question here in the Apple communities.
I have tried everything I can think of. Unfortunately, the rest of my family is PC and does not really have a clue when it comes to macs. I need my laptop for my work and I hope I can get answers if I post my own question instead of looking at other questions. I really need help. Thanks!

    1. Make sure iPad is using the latest software
    2. Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
    3. Make sure Time Zone is correct
    4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

I add my comcast email to the mail on a iMac running Maverick. It downloads all my emails from there. How do i get my email to delete of the the server

Go to Mail Preferences>Accounts, click the '+' button below the list of accounts and insert the settings, username and password as instructed. Some account types can be set up automatically as soon as Mail knows the emails address (because the server settings are built in), in other cases you will have to get them from your ISP.

  • Unable to download from AppStore, updates, etc.Messages 'the installer is damaged' to 'there might be a problem with file ownership and permissions.' I am the owner and only user of a new MBP. What could be going on?

Is anyone having the same type of problems I'm having with Lion. I have a new MacBook Pro, received 7 weeks ago, preinstalled with Leopard 10.6.7. I didn't migrate anything from my old iMac, wanted a clean install from the Apple Store. While there, I asked for the upgrade to Lion 10.7, however their system was down.
I  installed it myself, wirelessly about a week later, and Apple emailed me a receipt. Now, I've had to call support directly last week when I lost Mail, Address Book, was unable to open Preview or iTunes, among other problems. Seemed fixed after a session that baffled even the store tech.  Now I am unable to download or install the recent Mac updates for Lion, from the App Store, could not install Adobe Reader, etc. Messages range from 'A network error has occured - Check your Internet connection and try again' to 'The Installer is damaged and cannot open the package. There may be a problem with file ownership or permissions.'  All fail and I'll probably have to call Apple again. I am frustrated beyond words.  Logs 'Install's runner tool is not properly configured as a setuid tool', domain errors, 'attempt to write a readonly database, and on and on. I have barely done a thing on this computer except search online for help with these problems. Safari gives me a 'You are not connected to the internet' too often. Diagnostics disagrees. I do see wi-fi problems in the forum. Disk and permissions were fine at the beginning of the earlier problems, checked first by support tech. I'm not sure if support tech even knew. I was just happy they were fixed. Anyone have these download and/or install problems after a 'clean bill of health' so to speak, only a week ago?
