  • Downloading Civilization V - An Error has Occured

I recently purchased Civilization V from the Mac App store, and began downloading it.
I had to leave my source of WiFi, and paused the download before I left. When I tried to resume the download I was given the message that the download failed and I would have to try again from the Purchases tab. When I go to the Purchases tab and try to hit install, for a few seconds it says installing then switches back to the grey button saying "Install" and the message "An Error has Occured" displaying next to it. No matter how many times I have tried it doesnt continue downloading. I also bought Bioshock, and when I tried downloading that it worked for a bit, then gave me the same error but when I hit install again it has been downloading without error.

    Same here, please mend this.

    Hi..
    Try "resetting" the iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
You may need to click Purchased (new) right side of the iTunes store in order to re download the album then sync to your iPhone.

  • Download Mountain Lion an error has occured

I have a MBP early 2008 with 4GB Memory and 30GB free disk space.
So I know I can upgrade.
I have purchased Mountain Lion in the appstore but it will not download.
The download starts and gets to 79.34MB and then gives an error:
    "an error has occured"
I have tried deleteing the appstore cache, logging out and quiting the appstore and then starting the appstore and logging back in, but none of it has helped.
Everytime it fails at exactly 79.34MB.
It is driving me mad, I hope someone can help.

    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
    -  Third party download managers are not compatible with the App Store.
For downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Keep in mind, If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband (high speed) access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.
Mountain Lion is a 4.34GB file. If you are using a slow internet connection, the download may be timing out before it can finish. Your ISP determines your download speeds. Check with your ISP for upgrade options.

  • Cannot download Mountain Lion- "an error has occurred"

When I attempt to download Mountain Lion it gets to about 79MB, stops, and I get the following, "an error has occurred." No explanation of any kind. This was over Wifi, but I also tried using ethernet. Same result. This same thing happened when I updated to Lion. The same thing happens when trying to download using my laptop. The only way I was able to get LIon is to take my laptop to the library and download from there and transfer it to my iMac.  I really don't want to do the same thing for Mountain Lion. Here is my setup:
    iMac8,1 model ID
Wifi router  - Qwest 2Wire (over 5 years old)
Currently using latest version of Mac OS Lion

I talked with my service provider (Qwest/Centurylink) and through some persistance they admitted that my 2wire router/modem (about 5-6 years old) has a 2GB file download cap on it. My solution was to buy a new router and modem. After that I was able to download Mountain Lion just fine. Hope this helps.

I had the same error. I found a solution on another forum that helped me.
Click on "sign in" at the top right of iTunes store
Fill in all the info and agree to the terms
    Now it should work
I believe I perviously got the error because I mistakenly tried to download apps without having even signed in to iTunes properly.
The post I found is here:

After I tried to update my iPod 4 to iOS 5, my screen turned to the USB cord pointing to the iTunes symbol. When I try to restore it, it says that the 3014 error has occured. I went to check for support on iTunes and I did download the latest version of iTunes (11.1.1). I tried to restore it again and the same error occured. I dont understand half of the instructions for the resolution of the 3014 error code so I did the instructions that I understood and nothing has changed. Please tell me how I can fix it.

Just what do you not understand?
    Did you try:
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
    Error 3014
This error occurs when iTunes can't reach gs.apple.com in a timely fashion. Follow the steps below to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com.

Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
Install the latest version of iTunes.
Check security software and ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow these stepsfor assistance with security software.
Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow theadvanced iTunes Store troubleshooting steps to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information."
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
