Why am I unable to add or edit in my contacts list ? Will I need to back up on desktop manager, wipe phone and start over?

I will try again and hope I have entered all relavent information. I have a 8530 curve, I am having issues with my contacts list. I have tried to add and or edit. I am able to get to the screen and press edit and or add contacts, but after I click on them the phone does nothing. Please assist.

[FeatureRequest] Add a contact list to the sidebar

It would be great if it were possible to add additional contact lists to the sidebar in addition to favourites, along with the ability to collapse those lists. This would be a huge improvement to contact oragnization.

I have a playlist titled 'Wishlist". When I think of a song I would like to have, I search
the iTunes store for it. When I find the song, I drag it to the Wishlist. When the funds
are available at a later time, I open the Wishlist and and click on the button "add Song" which
adds title to Shopping Cart.
I don't know if this works for videos, audiobooks, etc, but you could give it a try.

Thanks for this tip. Had this problem with my ipad. Brought it to my local Apple store. Two employees in the store I spoke with had never heard of this issue (including one @ the "genius" bar who suggested to just restore from my laptop). This fixed my issue! Thanks

N97 unable to make a call from contacts list

Hey, I was looking for some confirmation from others about this. I tried to make a call this morning by doing exactly what I would do on my E71 or N95 when a contact has multiple numbers:
1) Opened up my contacts.
2) Clicked a contact with multiple numbers, that already had a default one set.
3) The main contact screen pops up that shows you the picture of the person and gives you 4 options of things to do.
4) Because I wanted to call one of the other phone numbers, not the default one, I clicked the tab at the top that shows you all the contact information you have for said contact.
5) I then clicked the number I wanted and then clicked the call button.
6) Nothing happened. I kept clicking it thinking it didn't register and still nothing happened.
I tried this for 6 other contacts who have multiple numbers with defaults, and I even tried it with contacts who had only one number. I'm not allowed to make a call that way. The only way to make a phone call to a contact with multiple numbers is to not have any defaults set so when I go to step (3) above, I have to click "Voice call" and then select the number I want to call.
This **bleep** me off like nothing else after I discovered this. So before I go have a pleasant conversation with someone from Nokia I just wanted to know if this is the same for everybody else.

Similar issue can up with MMS/SMS'ing to non-default numbers (Clicky...)
You need to use the same process, ie...
Open Contacts >> Open the contact you wish to phone >> With Voice Call selected click "options" >> "Select other number" >> then just pick the number you want to call.
Slightly easier than SMS/MMS'ing as Voice Call is at the top of the list so selected by default

After you set up the account, you have to select the items that you want to sync so go to Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars and tap the MSN email account. In the next screen you should be able to select Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Reminders and you can choose how many days back to sync email.

Contact List Question

Hi,
If I recall correctly, prior to the recent update my contact list was arranged by last name or first name. After the update, it was arranged differently (visually speaking). The contact list was seperated alphabetically instead of all the names just being in order down the screen.
Well, my phone is not showing usage stats so I restored it last night and now the contact list is back to the same plain list. I prefer the names being physically grouped by alpha.
Is this a setting somewhere that I have over looked? I'd like to change it back.

edited to add: The contact list looked just like the Artist or Song list in the ipod section.

Actually Damon, I found the answer on my own, lol. Apparently, the way one's contact list is displayed depends on the number of contacts you have on your iPhone. When I restored my phone last night and didn't sync my contacts, I had less than 20, giving me the boring looking list of names. Once I added contacts back and went over 20 total, it changed to the "ipod-like" list I was describing.
So...
under 20 contacts= plain jane list
20 or more contacts= much nicer, alpha sorted list

Unable to update contact list

When trying to add contact I get message the screen freezes and after a few minutes the following window appears "Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(113) is not responding: process terminated"
This happens when attempting to add new contacts directly through contacts list or through call list or SMS list

Can't edit or add entries to Contacts

I am unable to edit any entries in Contacts and cannot add any new contacts in Mavericks. As soon as I click "Done" after an edit, the contact reverts to its original contents, i.e. the edit disappears. If I add a new contact, it also disappears when I click "Done."
Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas about what is going on?

Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Unable to Edit Price Lists in Advanced Pricing Vision Instance

Hello I have a new Vision Instance for 12.1.3 and when I switch responsibility to Oracle Pricing Manager Vision Operations I am unable to edit and of the price lists or modifiers that are in the system by default. any suggestions on what I need to update as I have not run into this before in previous Vision instances

this was the solution to this issue
Solution
1. Be sure to set the following profile option values at user level
a. QP: Pricing Transaction Entity = ORDFUL and save.
b. QP: Source System Code to 'Oracle Pricing' (if not already) and save.
2. Responsibility: Order Management Super User (or equivalent)
3. Navigation: Pricing > Price Lists > Price List Setup
4. Open the price list: XYZ CHARGES
5. The form will now open without error, and changes will be accepted

How do I transfer the contact list from my phone to another on my family plan

I have a Samsung Rogue as the primary phone on my account. My dad also has a phone on my plan, and just upgraded to the Accolade. He wants to add my contact list to his phone. Is there a way that I can transfer my list over to his phone?

because it went through the washing machine. ( I know!)
the screen doesn't work, but when I plug it into the USB port, the laptop recognizes it, and the call key doesn't work properly to call out, or obviously, anything else.
is there any way to get the contacts from the phone into the verizon backup assistant, or is there any other way? like taking it to the store?

At last, the BEST solution!
In addition to my last post, here is the solution for fixing this problem without syncing your contacts with icloud.
It takes about 2 minutes and permanently solves the problem so you can start adding and editing your contacts again on IOS 5.1.1!
Basically you just need to follow these steps from the Settings page:
Enable Airplane Mode
Go to iCloud settings
Turn on Contacts
Agree to 'Merge Contact'
Wait for pop up to confim iCloud contacts are on
Turn off Contacts
Confirm that you want to Keep your Contact on the iPhone
Wait for pop up to confim iCloud contacts are off
Disable Airplane Mode
Airplane Mode temporarily blocks all phone signal/data to stop your contacts merging with icloud.
