Unable to edit WBS element once Project is released

Hi,
I am unable to edit the WBS element once Project has been released. Is this SAP standard behaviour? Is yes, is there a way we can make this editable and is it advisable?

The point is I am able to edit the WBS element before I have released the Project. But, once I have released the project the WBS element is blocked for changes.
Infact the WBS element is editable until the higher level WBS element is released. But finally when I release the Project and system status changes to REL, the WBS element is blocked for changes i.e., it is not editable.I am just trying to understand if this is standard behaviour of SAP that WBS element becomes ineditable only overall Project is released. If the WBS element has to be changed after release, is there a way out?

Hi,
I have a 2 requirements
1) we need to populate WBS element and Project definition of an order in PM
IW 32 trasnaction (Additional data tab).
2)Also i need to program settlement rules in CJ02 for WBS elements .
How do i approach ? when i do manually it is taking the values in IW 32 when the status is released.
So i think first we need to chnage the Status from Created to released and then start working on step 1 and Step 2

Basically we need to put the status of WBS elememnts and then write a BDC for additional data tab.

Captivate 4-Unable to Edit or Save a Project

Hi,
I am creating a CBT using Captivate 4. There are two slides so far and the size of the project is 1,901 kb. One slide in the project has six click boxes with multiple actions and has five animations included in it which are hidden until the user clicks a click box. The concept works wonderfully, however, I am now unable to edit or save the project. I cannot finish it at this point. Captivate will not allow me to add any additional buttons, click boxes, highlight boxes, new slides and so on. It also will not allow me to delete any unused items from the library, or save the edits I made up to that point.
I have tried the following, closing the project, closing Captivate and restarting my computer. I have also imported the slides into a new project with the same outcome. I have copied and pasted the slides into a new project with the same outcome. I have also tried to do a save as and it will not allow that either. There are no error messages. The project is not save on the network, it is on my C:Drive. I have had to restart the project several times and has this happened with each project. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

click on the folder containing all these documents and do the following:
Right click on the folder, then select "Get Info"
Click the lock at the bottom to give yourself access to the permissions settings for this folder. A dialog will appear so you can enter your login name and password:
Now select your user name at the bottom (mine is wayne), set the read write permissions to "Read & Write" using the pop-up menu, then click the sprocket at the very bottom of the window and select "Apply to enclosed items..." from the pop-up menu. The click the lock again.

All,
This is my question.
1 WBS Element can be assigned to multiple projects ?
I have seen in table PRPS table WBS Element is only the key field , But it related PROJ using the field PSPHI .
In that case it means there will 1 WBS Element can be assigned to multiple projects ?

Unable to Settle WBS element- Message No. KD559..

Hi,
I am trying to settle a WBS element. I have maintained the settlement rule through CJIC.
Now when I am trying to settle it through CJ88 I get a message:
Message no. KD559
Diagnosis
You are trying to use a settlement amount rule to settle an amount larger than the amount currently available.
Note that it is not appropriate to assign several line items to the same distribution rule group if you wish to settle line items. The system..
uses the distribution rule group for each line item,
meaning that the total settled amount would be the same as the total of the amounts from the distribution rules,
multiplied by the number of line items.
System Response
The system does not allow the settlement.
Procedure
Check your settlement rules.
I had gone through the details I found that this is due to a negative amount maintained in the settlement rule for one receiver. I want this negative amount in the settlement rule. (The total amount of settlement rule equals the postings to the WBS)
My question stands what should I do so that it will be possible for me to settle the WBS element.

Pass the project and in return you can get the WBS elements, Orders,Network activities
P.S. Project number has a conversion routine attached to it check it before passing to the FM.

Materials for Single wbs Element from project/Plant stock

Hi to all,
I would like to have the following scenarios for the single Project.
1) Some Activities in the single WBS Element will be using the Materials for specific to the Project. So MRP will be generated for the Project and PR,PO,Goods receipt will be done.
2) In the same WBS Element of some activity, wants to consume materials from the Plant stock. For this we donu2019t want to run MRP. From the reservation no, we want to take the materials for project use.
I have a single Network profile and I donu2019t want to create anymore.
Understand from movement type 411, we can take the materials from unrestricted Plant stock to project. Is there any other way/any config I need to check in account assignment category to fulfill the requirement to consume from Plant stock and also to use Project stock in a single profile.

that is the only option, Std. SAP does not support for unrestricted plant stock ( for Project MRP or availability check).
same option-
1) transfer free stock( plant stock) to respective WBSE
2) Run MRP
3) Consume material.

Problem in loading multiple lev1 and multiple lev2 WBS elements in projects

Hi guys,
I've a requirement to load (from file) projects with multiple level 1 and multiple level 2 WBS elements. I'm using CJ01 recording to load projects in step 1 and it loads all the projects successfully.
Next I need to load WBS elements of level 1 & level 2 under each projects and also level 1 & level 2 must be linked correctly. Now in this step what I'm doing is that am doing the CJ02 recording to load WBS elements (irrespective of levels) under each projects. But as in the data file, the sequence of WBS records are not guarranteed to be in the exact sequence of hierarchy of WBS elements, what's happening is that though WBS elements are getting loaded successfully, but level 1 & 2 are not getting linked to each other correctly. So the hierarchy is broken. Please help how to resolve this issue like how to design the LSMW correctly.
Alternatively we can use CJ20N for loading the correct hierarchy but here we need to select correct project/level 1/leve2 etc which is difficult in case if a project doesn't have level 2 or level 1.
Please suggest the easiest design.

You have to use levels in recording.
I think using CJ01 only you can upload all the projects with hierarchy.
Just arrange the file records accordingly;

WBSE 1
Level 2----
WBSE 1.1
Level 2----
WBSE 1.2
Level 2----
WBSE 1.3
Level 1----
WBSE 2
Level 2----
WBSE 2.1
Level 2----
WBSE 2.2
Level 2----
WBSE 2.3
Now, hierarchy will be correct.

Transferring wbs elements bewteen project definitions

I have created many wbs elements under a single project definitions and now have financial posting against them. Is it possible to transfer some of the wbs elements to a new project defintion?

Rich, there is nothing called transferring WBSE from one Project Definition to another. But you can do these.
1. Delete the WBSE, if there are no postings happend, and then create the WBSE with same id for the other project Definition.
2. Rename the WBSE id(for which the acutal cost exists) to some id, and then create the WBSE with the same id to other proejct definition..(i think it should work, check and come back)
But, I would like to ask you onething, why you want to mix up WBSE coding in a project. Suppose if your project Definition is A.001, then it is the good practice to maintain the WBSE which follows the code A.001.01, A.001.02 etc., From your post I understand that you want to create A.001 as project and A.001.01, A.111.01 as your WBS Elements. Why do you want to do like this?

Transfer WBS elements to Project Definitions

i think you are talking about something not related to Business Objects, are you asking about SAP BW?

Function module to get the status of WBS elements IN Project Systems

Hi,
I am suppose to delete the WBS elements in PS depending on certain conditions. WBS elements that are to be deleted should satisfy the following conditions:
1.     Status of WBS elements should not be AUC construction
2. WBS element, which have cost association, like PO association or internal order association      shouldnt be deleted WBS element does not have confirmed activities.
3.     WBS elements, which have confirmed activity in association with their networks, should not be deleted.
Either I can check for status of WBS for the above mentioned conditions or if u can suggest me some diff way I shall be grateful

Sort WBS element in project hierarchy

Our WBS element does by sequential numbering
Eg: Level 1         2A.08
      Level 2         2A.08.01
      Level 3         2A.08.01.01
      Level 2         2A.08.02
      Level 3         2A.08.02.01
In transaction CJ02 is there any way we could sort the WBS element field so that it is in ascending or descending order? We are trying to explore a faster way to tidy up the hierarchy other than moving the line items manually.
Hope someone has some solution to this.

Unable to edit issues list once items are created

Hello,
I have been trying to do a standard edit to an infopath from to a Project Site Issue list. I want to add the ID to be visible on the form. However, on any issue list that already has items in the list, if I try to publish the InfoPath form, I
get the following SOAP error: "The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server: Server was unable to process request. ---> A duplicate field name "Category" was found."
I have tried the following:
Checking for duplicate fields in list settings, content types, SharePoint designer.
Refreshed the fields in the InfoPath form before trying to make any changes.
Tried saving a change to the category field in List settings (adding a 5 to the name) and then editing the form.
Even if I make no changes to the form, it has been refreshed after opening, and I try to publish the form, the SOAP error occurs.
The category field is the standard out of the box field, and other than adding additional values, there were no modifications.
I am able to publish the form on a site where no issues have yet been added, and I was able to add the ID field to the site template.
Has anyone run into this issue? Any resolution?
This is a Project Server 2013 project site on SharePoint 2013.

Based on your description, my understanding is that the InfoPath form of the list cannot be published to SharePoint if there are items in the list.
I recommend to verify the things below:
Please click File > Design Checker in InfoPath to see if there are any errors.
Open the form in InfoPath and keep the form open. Then delete the existing InfoPath template in the list settings and then click publish the form in InfoPath to see if the issue still occurs.
To narrow down the issue scope, I recommend to create a new issue list and test with InfoPath form to compare the results.
Check ULS log for detailed error message in SharePoint.
To further understanding this issue, could you please provide some screenshots of your InfoPath form and the customizations you did on the form?
