I am having trouble attaching pictures or make a photo cd

No Mac has been called PowerMac since early 2006.
Photo CDs are tricky at best, because the formats aren't always consistent. You might be best finding the version of iLife or iPhoto you are trying to make a Photo CD with, and posting in its correct forum below:

Attaching photos has different instructions depending on which e-mail program you are using. If it is Apple's Mail, adding a paperclip icon to the composing message window using View menu -> Customize toolbar gives you the best attachment setup for ease of use on its program. Once you use the Paperclip, it can have "windows friendly attachments" chosen for ease of transfer to non-Mac systems. Your composing preferences can affect whether or not photos show while you are composing the message within the message or not. Once you control-mouse click (or right click) the attachment icon in the message, you should have an option to change from icon to viewing the full image. If not, your composing message preference may be the wrong format.

Unable to email photos and .pdfs

help!
I am unable to email photos from iPhoto, .pdfs, and photos others forward to me from Mail.
I have tried repairing permissions, moving the mail out to the hard drive and reopening, cursing, and other ineffectual things.
The photos and documents will email successfully from other computers using Mail .
Any ideas?

so you set up a new user in system prefs- accounts? - not just a new mail account, right?
well hopefully the problem lies within your mail preferences file - do the following ( carefully!) to force mail to rebuild it, yet retain your messages. Your display settings will need setting again, but messages & rules should remain. You'll backup your mail first, so if anything goes wrong, you can get right back to where you are now.
If you have more than one or two mail accounts ( the account details will all need entering again) - you might look for an alternative fix before doing this.
Make sure you have a note of your mail account(s) details - incoming/outgoing servers, password, username etc . ( I guess you're ok with this, having set up a new user?).
Quit Mail
In Finder, navigate to home/library
locate the 'Mail' folder & alt-drag a copy to the desktop ( a green + sign should show that you're making a copy; not moving the original.
locate the file 'com.apple.mail.plist' in home/library/preferences. Drag this file to the desktop ( no alt this time - you want to move the original).
Open mail - you'll be asked for your account details - enter them exactly as they were before.
set up extra accounts when prompted ( if you had more than one)
You should find all your mail & mailboxes are there - open a few emails just to be certain.
Before changing any mail display/layout settings - test mail to see if your problem is fixed now.
If it's working fine - you've finished & the .plist file you moved to the desktop can be trashed.
I would advise keeping the copy of the Mail folder somewhere safe, & making a new copy as often as you like - preferably on another drive or CD/DVD disk. Then if Mail or your HD go nutso - it's possible to get all your mail back.
Let me know if this works - either way I'll make another post so you know how to restore your mail folder & settings if it didn't work, or if one day you need to use the backup to recover your mail & settings.

Are you on Win 7 and see the email window freeze? In such case, please follow the link.
Also in case you are not finding Windows Mail listed (in PSE preferences) as a client in PSE then it might be because Windows mail is not configured on your system. First you would need to configure it and then it would show up in PSE Organizer Preferences>Sharing.

Unable to email photo taken on iPhone

I want to send a photo from my iPhone to a valid email address. I went to the Camera Roll and selected a photo, then clicked the leftmost icon to start the "send" process and chose "Email Photo" from the options. I get an email template with the photo already attached, put in my valid email address in the To: field and send. I get no email sent, nor any indication of something being wrong.
I have tested with local WiFi and another test using Edge - neither send the message. I also tested simple text msgs and they get sent fine.
Anyone else having issues sending photos?

My email settings shows my valid yahoo email account and as I said earlier, regular text emails are processed fine. Perhaps something about the photo attachment is causing an issue through yahoo mail?

I am unable to e-mail photos, receive a statement saying that the werever does not recognize my username and or password. I have checked multiple times and these are correct.

The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".
That error message usually will pop up, when there is a conflict between the "From" setting for the mail account you are sending from and the selected outgoing mail server. Probably the outgoing Mail server is receiving a user name and password it does not understand. When the mail returns unsent, do you see the "Try again" panel with the option to select a different outgoing mail server?
If you do not see this panel, change the Mail "Preferences > General" to "If Outgoing server is unavailable: Show a list of alternate servers". This way, you will know, which server Mail is trying to send from.
Have you tried to set "From" pop-up menu to one of your other email addresses? If that works, change your settings in Mail to always send from this address. You can set this option in the Mail "Preferences > Composing: Send New Messages from". I have my "Send New Messages from" set to "iCloud". That is working best for me with iPhoto.

Unable to Email Photos or Video

I have a iPhone 3GS w/ 3.0.1 software loaded. Whenever I take a picture and try to send it via email to a known, good email account, I get an error basically telling me the "email account is not valid". I can both send and receive regular email to the email account and the email account is saved as a "contact". The email w/video or pictures attached will just sit in the "outbox" and never send but regular "test" emails or "replies" to the same account are sent just fine. This happens whether or not I'm using WiFi or 3G. My phone is NOT jailbroke and I haven't loaded any weird or "unauthorized" apps which would hinder my iPhone's ability to send photos. It worked at one time and then suddenly it quit. I've recently did a backup and restore and it still doesn't work. Any help?

Your best bet might be to restore your iPhone, backing it up before of course. See if that fixes the issue.
If not I would put in a support ticket to Apple.

I wanted to email a photo to BBC South Today. It keeps getting returned, Error 552 - exceeds message size. The first photo I sent was 9.32MB . I thought this would be ok as up to 25 MB is allowed? I then resized it on photoshop to 5.52 MB, but this too was returned. I have used BT Yahoo, and also AOL but the same thing happens. I have trawled the internet to work out what i'm doing wrong. It is SO frustrating.. can anyone help?

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
As indicated, the problem is possibly due to the limit set at the distant end. It might say somewhere on their website the filesize limit.
Depending on the program you are using, the OS and the filetype, you may be able to load into a graphics package and resave at a lower jpg value.
9.32MB is a very large size for a picture, my 14Mp camera takes jpg photos up to around 6MB. I can use a 90% jpg compression as well as a bit of sharpening etc, and it reduces to around 4.5MB. With the same settings but reduce the picture to 50% height x width, the size is then 1.6MB.
(all done using Faststone Image Viewer).
What is the output setting on photoshop for jpg compression for saving (assuming you're using jpg) ? Even a few % wont really interfere with the viewing quality. I tried 70% and the difference is neglible, and for a full size picture the filesize was less than ½ before.

I can't tell you exactly how to fix this, but I had the same problem. I had it on PSE 11. My IT go-to guys could not fix it, so I figured it must be an Elements problem and installed PSE 12 without any change. Next I tried the Geek Squad at Best Buy. I didn't have much hope, but the technician worked on it and after some time fixed it. It requred installing Windows Live Mail, but don't know what all the technician had to do to figure it out. No option for emailing photos

Hi,
After installing iLife06, I am unable to email photos. In the iPhoto prefs, nothing shows up in the "General: Email photos using:" dropdown list.
I use Apple's Mail, and Mail prefs show "Mail" as my default email client.
I tried deleting the com.apple.iphoto.plist (a new one was created upon iphoto re-launch), but still nothing showed up in the dropdown list.
Opening com.apple.iphoto.plist in Property List Editor lists "MailApp -> String -> Mail.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Go to photos/library, click the top right icon, select up to 5 (maximum) photos that you want to be attached with the mail, click "share" at the bottom left, a menu will pop up, click "email".

Cant email photos from iPhone 3G

This is a fairly recent problem for me but I am unable to email photos from my iPhone (either photo's synced from iPhoto or those taken on phone itself). Its a 3G phone and is running firmware 2.1. I'm not able to upload photos using the photo uploader feature in the Facebook app either.
After doing some research and some tests, I noticed that I can accomplish these tasks if I'm connected to a WiFi network or if I'm using EDGE (ie, 3G turned off) but NOT when I'm on the 3G netowrk. The error I'm getting is something about the message could not be sent and it ends up in my outbox. I have two email accounts set up on the phone, one a Yahoo account, the other a corporate email account. The same error occurs using either account.
I cant think of anything I've done to change the phone recently other than add a couple of seemingly unrelated Apps from the App Store (e.g., iTV, Grocery IQ, Pandora).
Any thoughts?

Had a guy at the Genius Bar at the local Apple store look at the phone yesterday. He swapped SIM cards and was able to send photos so it would seem that its a SIM card issue. He mentioned that they're starting to see odd problems here and there related to the 3G network which coincidentally or no was apparently fully rolled out recently here in So Cal. So now I need to go to an AT&T store to get a new card...hopefully that will do the trick.
