Unable to email photos, receive a statement that the server does not recognize my username and or password, have checked multiple times that these are correct

I am unable to e-mail  photos, receive a statement saying that the werever does not recognize my username and or password. I have checked multiple times and these are correct.

The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".
That error message usually will pop up, when there is a conflict between the "From" setting for the mail account you are sending from and the selected outgoing mail server. Probably the outgoing Mail server is receiving a user name and password it does not understand. When the mail returns unsent, do you see the "Try again" panel with the option to select a different outgoing mail server?
If you do not see this panel, change the Mail "Preferences > General" to "If Outgoing server is unavailable: Show a list of alternate servers". This way, you will know, which server Mail is trying to send from.
Have you tried to set "From"  pop-up menu to one of your other email addresses?  If that works, change your settings in Mail to always send from this address. You can set this option in the Mail "Preferences > Composing: Send New Messages from". I have my "Send New Messages from" set to "iCloud". That is working best for me with iPhoto.

  • ICal does not update when calendar changes are made on all my other devices. Prompt that the server does not recognize the password, but the password is correct.

Since I synced my iPad, my iCal on my Macbook no longer updates and every time I open it, this window appears even if I didn't change or forget my password.     As if by magic it is now working. I went away from the mac for a couple of hours, came back and it started to work. This is scary as I would expect this kind of action on a Mickysoft machine but not a Mac. Ho Hum - at least the problem has been sorted even if I don't know how.

    I am trying to mail photo's from my Iphoto's through my email account.  However each time I try to send the pics I get a message that the server does not recognize my username/password.  I have a password for my Bell sympatico account which is the account I am trying to use, but when I enter that password I get the does not recognize message.  I then tried to use my Apple password and again same message.

    The following is exactly what I do,  I go to IPHOTO and click on the photo I want to send, then I go to the Share menu and insert the email address where I want it sent.  In that message it shows my other account which is my email address that I use all the time for all my correspondance.  So I have that as the address I am sending from
    Then I hit send and a text box comes up saying there is some text related to the photo looks like you could put a description here so I just hit Send anyway.  Then I hit the send key and that is when the message box pops up with my complete email address with ;smtp.me.com" at the end . None of those letters or characters are in my email address.  Any help you can offer I am greatly appreciative!

  • I suddenly cannot email photos from iphoto. I get a box that says "server does not recognize username or password". I now have to use regular email and cannot re-size my photos.

    Suddenly I can no longer email photos directly via iphoto mail.  The box comes up that says "server does not recognize username or password".  I used to be able to re-size my photos before sending so that they jpeg or pixels were larger for publishing in newspapers or magazines, but I can no longer do that.  Apple tech support told me to change my iphoto "preferences" to using regular email to send.  But that does not allow me to re-size.  Is anyone else having this problem?  I don't know if there was an update that caused this or what?  Please help.

    I receive a pop-up from ICal saying the server does not recognize my user name and password for my me.com email address.  This started yesterday and occurs about every 5 minutes or so.  There are no problems with receiving or sending email through Mail.  I did change me email password several days ago but have no problems sending/receiving since then.

    I fixed the problem.  I opened Preferences in ICal and entered my new password.  No more pop-ups

    Backup first
    It is always best to have a full bootable backup before you upgrade. If you fail to do this you will be unable to return to this OS if you decide you don't like the new OS. Also there is a slight chance that an install could lose everything on the Mac. The backup must be to an external hard disk. Preferably use Carbon Copy Cloner to make a bootable backup of the whole disk.
    Erase before the install
    Once you have a bootable backup on an external disk it is best to erase the internal disk with the new installer DVD before you install.
    During the install
    Preferably do not import any data or preferences from earlier OSs during the install process as this can reintroduce bugs.

    Well the error message is in Swedish but says: The installation program database is damaged. Please contact the Adobe support (which is a hard thing to do!!). I use Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1.

    What server?  What email are you talking about?  You're not exactly providing a whole lot of details.  I could assume you mean icloud and an icloud address, but no point in wasting time troubleshooting if you mean something else...
    And what's up with the picture?

    To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Tried to send an email with a long list of recipients, stuck on window for sending that email, can't stop the mode or delete it.  Server does not recognize recipients........, every time I open email account, thismessage reappears and I can't close, delete, etc.

    Ok....figured it out.....Go to check mail, choose out bos, delete the message trying to be sent.....if still there. Force Quit mail and then restart the email and message should gone and not on dock!......Brain synapse today!

  • How do I fix the server Error I get saying the server does not recognize the RETR command? I can send but not receive.

    I am using the Godaddy email service with a POP account. some of my clients are working but many are showing the RETR error from the server. I have deleted the popstate.dat file and this did not solve the issue.

    Item 1. Webmail in no way uses any of the servers, ports or protocols used by a mail client. So any assumption drawn regarding mail clients based on web mail is false.
    You could have a dead anti virus program. Nortons in particular spits it and drops conections, fails to download mail and sends wrong passwords periodically, but it is certainly not alone. They are all fairly fragile in dealing with mail. Especially SSL secured connections, Only by using man in the middle hacking techniques can anti virus scan SSL secured mail.
    We routinely recommend the following as diagnostics for these sorts of issues.
    To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
    *Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
    *Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection.   • DFSR Error that the server does not have Adequate free space. But it does.

    Hi, I have a 3 memeber DFS replication group on Windows 2008 R2 servers.  On one of members replication stopped and the Health diagnostics report states that there is not enough disk space on the drive to replicate.  But there is.  It
    replicates to the other member with much less free space.  I have increased the staging quota after running the caculation command in Power shell to determine the largest 32 files.  There is pleanty of free space.  I have restarted the
    DFS service and restarted the server.  I have created a new Replication group on the same volume and it works fine.
    Any Ideas?

    It will only copy the changed data to sync all files when re-add the failing member server back to the replication group. If the changed data is very large, you could do a robocopy to copy the changed data, then re-add the failing member server back to the
    replication group.
    You could refer to the article below to know some considerations when re-add a member server back to a replication group.
    After you re-add a member server to a DFS replication group in Windows Server 2003 R2, initial replication does not occur on the member server, and changes in the replicated folder are replicated unexpectedly to other replication partners

    I am trying to share photos in iPhoto via email (gmail) and it says the server does not recognize the username password combination. I have deleted the email account rebooted iMac and re-entered the gmail account info and I get the same message. I have confirmed the username and password are correct.

    LarryHN I guess I should have clarified that. I did try it that way and I am able to email pictures with mail set as the email client. When I change it to iPhoto as the email client is when I get this message. I have the same setup on my Macbook and it works great for emailing pictures from iPhoto. Although I can send them through email client, I prefer doing it through iPhoto.
