Unable to Empty "Edited" Album

There is an image stuck in my "Edited" photo album. I believe iPhoto created this album automatically; however, it seems the only way to "delete" edited versions of photos is to pop the gear and tap "revert to original". I've done that with all the edits I made, but there's one image that refuses to leave the album, and it doesn't have a "revert to original" option.

It is non-sense, but try the following which took me days to figure out.
First, if your photostream has never been reset once they added the "delete" functionality which initially wasn't an option, that has to be done. Rather annoying, but cleared up that issue.
In iPhoto, go to the picture you edited that you want to delete. If you made edits it will show up in the Edited Album. Tap the edit button, go down to the cog in the lower right corner and select "Revert to Original" (on iPhone it just says "Revert". It removes any edits and poof the picture disappears. The exception I found to that is when you have added a caption, or posted online somewhere like facebook and comments were added. It gets linked to those which will keep the picture in the Edited Album unless you remove the source online.

I am unable to update my album art on my iMac since I started using Match (and after upgrading to Yosemite 10.10.3). A message advises that it's not possible to removed old artwork if it's embedded. How can I 'unembed' old cover art and replace?

Normally artwork recovered with iTunes is stored as a separate artwork file and iTunes refers to that file to display artwork when you click on a track. However, if you then copy the file to another player the artwork file is left behind and the track will not display the artwork on the other player. To get around this it is possible to embed the artwork in the music file itself so it always travels with the file. Artwork can be embedded by you or files from third party sources may arrive with embedded artwork. iTunes apparently now won't replace artwork for such files. You can accomplish this by completely deleting artwork for a file or set of files in Get Info, then getting iTunes to fetch artwork which will then be set as a reference file rather than being embedded.
I use an old iTunes so unless you are using an ancient iTunes it won't help for me to give you great details. To erase artwork I simply get info on a series of files and check the box next to the artwork box without adding any artwork and close. To do it for single file I Get Info, go to the artwork display tab and click delete. The iTunes Store sells songs in AAC format. Most Android phones can play AACs. Just sync them to your phone per the instructions with the phone.
If by any chance your phone does require MP3 format, you can use iTunes to convert the files, per this guide:
iTunes: How to convert a song to a different file format - Apple Support
(This conversion does not require burning.)
For future reference, note that the iTunes Store is really optimized for people using Apple devices. You might find it more convenient to buy music in Mp3 format from Amazon Digital Music or Google Play Music.

I am unable to synch photo albums from iPad 3 to iTunes on my Windows 7 pc.
In addition to Camera roll and iPod cache default albums, I have 6 other albums made from pix derived from the camera roll. Eg - Family pix in a folder, Office pix in another, Plant pixs in another, House architecture pix in another.......all also exist in the camera roll.
I have trawled the net for the last 8 hrs in vain!
I have ios5 on Ipad 3 and the latest Itunes on Windows PC.
As a precaution, I have used the windows "add pictures from...." to keep a copy in a separate folder in the windows desktop, but again it has all the pics mixed up together and not sorted as per the various albums in the ipad!
How to replicate the albums in the windows PC???

Sync the photos back to the iPad using iTunes. You have to place the photos into a folder from which you sync photos. All photos that you want to sync to the device must be included in the main photos folder and selected to sync each time that you sync.
Connect the iPad to the PC and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Click on the Sync Photos From heading in order to select it.
Select the photos folder that you want to sync from.
Select all of the albums or photos within the folder that you want to sync.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

Difficult to edit album info in new iTunes.

Every since the new iTunes 11 I get frustrated every day.
I can't seem to organize my files like I used to. I used to be able to click control i = edit album info..I'd be able to hit "next" and organize info for every track in the album. I can no longer do that. I have to click on every single song seperately and edit it..no more next next next. Anyways..this is just one way the new iTunes is driving me nuts.
Why did they change it???
It was fine the way it has been for years.
If anyone knows how to easily edit album info, please let me know.
I mostly have problems when importing new music from downloaded mp3 files..unheard of things, like homeschooling history lessons audiobooks. Then I import it and sometimes it shuffles it up into 2 albums instead of one and I have to go back and highlight things, erase things, rename things, to get it to realize that this is one album, with many tracks.
Sigh.
Any help appreciated.
Also, if iTunes people read this: If it's not broken, don't fix it. No idea why they changed the way iTunes looks. It's so much more difficult to use now.

I have always managed my music manually, just tried the way you do it, cleaned up my libary synced with my phone and all is OK. Made edits and resynced all OK.
Will manage all my music via the libary which I suppose is the best way to do it anyway.

Unable to open/edit Business rules v9.3

Hello,
I am unable to open/edit existing business rules in v9.3 in the AAS console. I get an error message: Exception occured: Please check your log for details.
Business rules have been working without issues for months. I checked the easserver.log and it is getting a java.lang.nullpointerexception when I try to open/edit rules. I have done all the normal checks/updates: restarted services, rebooted servers, checked provisioning, refreshed security from shared services, refreshed planning to essbase, logged into Planning first, etc.
I believe the issue occured when a business rule was deleted which "may" have been included in a sequence. Since I cannot open any BRs or sequences I cannot validate that assumption.
Another side note, I can create a BR and attached it to a location, but once I save it I am unable to open it. I have started looking thru the tables in the AAS RDB but it "seems" ok.
Any help would be appreciated!

I have not come across this sort of issue before, if you don't find a solution then as a final measure I would backup up the repository and export all the rules/macros/variables etc to xml.
Then I would first redeploy the web application server and see if that helps, if not I would reconfigure the database and drop it and then import the xml back in.

I installed this OS, and it looks nice, but it's terrible to use. I randomly have the volume controls get disabled, and sometimes the volume menu in the system tray does nothing when adjusted which I've never seen in an OS before. The trash won't empty. When I try to drag and drop newer files over existing ones, nothing happens. The old ones just stay there. I have to delete the old ones and then move the new ones. And when I go into the protected files to manage audio plugins (I make music), the first thing I hit are error codes galore, and password prompts that either don't popup when they should, or don't execute the command after I provide my password.
What can I do now that I installed the flames of **** onto my computer?

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. I have photoshop elements 13 and am unable to view edited jpeg photos on a Panasonic TX-42DT50B TV; however unedited photos are OK. These photos also display correctly elsewhere. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem?

Unable to empty the Trash in iPhoto.

I'm unable to empty the Trash in iPhoto. I have uploaded all my photos to iPhotos and then deleted any duplicates. Consequently I have 33,000 photos in the trash but every time I select 'Empty Trash', the iPhoto app crashes. Any Ideas?

iPhoto has a big problem, if the Trash is too full. Put only small numbers of photos in the trash, to delete at once.
To solve this, put the images back into an event, and trash them again, in smaller installments, no more than 1000 images at a time.
The question is, how to remove them from the trash, without having to track them down again - if you use the "Put Back" command, all photos will be restored to their projects. I'd suggest you create a new project "MyTrash" and add a new image to it, so that this project will appear as the current "Recent Project". Drag your images from the Trash to this recent project; leave only 1000 or less images in the trash; then try to empty trash. If this succeeds, continue to trash images from the "My Trash" project, until all are gone. You might wish to empty the system Trash in between.

OK....I'm stumped. The message you are seeing is typically there to protect someone from syncing with a different computer/iTunes account. Is there any way anyone else has used your iPad and possibly connected it to their computer?

Unable to view Compilation Album as whole album

Unable to view Compilation Album as whole album in Itunes...it wants to separate each track by artist.
In general the new itunes has been very frustrating.
I miss being able to just click the heading and see everything in simple list view.
They tried to simplify itunes but made it more frustrating and complicated.
Is there no way to use older versions?

Switch to the Songs view, tick View > Column Browser > Group Compilations, then revert to the view you were in previously.
