Unable to enter recovery mode

I'm using a rooted Xperia SL and I'm unable to enter recovery mode. I was running on Doomlord's pre rooted Stock JB ROM for Xperia S and Trinity ultimate Kernel. The problem started when I tried to flash Sound Enhancements and Walkman app from XDA forums.
After it flashed and I rebooted my device, my phone just kept restarting without being able to get to the homescreen. So I entered TWRP screen and I reflashed the JB ROM. Now, even though I flashed a recovery using Fastboot, I'm still unable to enter recovery mode
I tried using goo.manager but still no luck! The rom works fine and it's prerooted and I can use it to function normally, but I'm not able to enter recovery to flash other apps
Please help

Unable to enter Recovery Mode for my iPad Air
While updating my iPad Air to iOS 7.0.6, it went into an endless loop of cycling between the white Apple screen and the whirling dashes. I can't even reliably shut it down. It seems a prime candidate for recovery mode, but unfortunately I can't get it there. When I try to enter recovery mode by attaching to iTunes then pressing the home key and then reattaching theUSB cable when attached to iTunes, I just go back into the same endless loop Apple screen / whirling dashes cycle.
Right now I'm just waiting for it to power off by letting the battery run down, to see if that jumpstart brings it back up into a different state.
Anything else I can try? Or is my next stop the Genius Bar?
Thank you,
Matt

The timing on this has to be...just...right to enter DFU mode. If that won't work, plug the iPad Air into your computer and set the iPad into recovery mode, like so:
1) Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
2) Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
3) Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
4) When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.

• Unable to enter recovery mode after EMMA TA update flash

Hi, I instaled to a sony xperia Z ultra the TA upadate using EMMA tool. The bootloader is unlocked and no error after the flash. After all procedure, I can't enter in recovery mode. Anyone have this issue?

Hi Lusorg
Sorry for replying late.
Now that is really strange and I belive the fault lies within the EMMA.
How about trying it now again or after few days so that things get fixed ?
Try to flash the Generic firmware once again, first see if it still shows kitkat for you. It should be rather lollipop.
Also few things to take care of. Turn off antivirus and firewall on your computer before you begin flashing because these softwares really mess up with EMMA / PC Companion etc
EDIT : One more thing I'd like to add is make sure you're following the correct way to enter recovery.

• HT201263 STILL unable to enter recovery mode

Tried using this technique but my iPod does not respond to Step 2a or 2b.

Try the remaining items of the follow. You will likely have to let the battery fully drain as below.:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

• Unable to enter recovery mode on my Z3

I bought my xperia z3 a few months ago and I decided I want to root it. I got as far as unlocking the bootloader but now that I need to put it into recovery mode I found out I can't. I have tried multiple methods, the power off then power on while pressing the volume bottons and other variations of that. I also tried usind android-sdk the "adb reboot recovery", and it took awhile to figure that out and once i got it to work all it did was reboot the device. It did not go into reovery mode, I don't get an LED light when i power the phone on like most of the guides say I should be getting. I'm getting really frustrated, I've searched far and wide on the internet for a similar problem and all of the instances i have found have been on rooted phones so the fix is easy, this phone has never been rooted, only the bootloader has been unlocked. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

What model iPad do you have? If it's an iPad 1, the battery may have expired and needs replacement.

• My IPhone 4S keeps entering recovery mode after few hours

Hi,
I bought a new IPhone 4S from 12/2011. The first month of usage is fine but after I plug it into Itunes in my PC, problems start to appear. The phone keeps entering recovery mode (screen with itunes logo and USB cable) after a few days. Not long later, it automatically goes into recovery mode after 4-5 hours or randomly. I tried to hold the power with home button to kick it out but it goes back to recovery mode again after few hours. The following issues are also detected:
- Sometimes there is a blue horizontal line appear when device is rebooting with Apple logo.
- Any apps other than Apple's default apps cannot be accessed (tap the icon and it gets kick out to the home screen).
- A yellow screen is often seen and then device goes back to recovery mode by itself.
- 2 to 3 out of 10 attempts holding home and power buttons can get it out of recovery mode while 7-8 times this does not help.
I even use Itunes on PC to recover the phone as new Iphone. I went through all the settings as a new phone but the problem still persists.
I thought this is minor software issue but after seeing all these behaviors, I suspect this may a hardware-related problem.
Did anyone experience this problem before?
Cheers.

• Enter recovery mode in M2

Hi! It tooks 2 days, while I could load a custom rom (Z4 XPERIENCE) to my phone. I do not remember, after the root, how could I enter the recovery mode. Everywhere I read, the following steps: - turn off - Push down key and power button - When phone vibrates release the power button, but do not release the down key Not works. I've tried to release the down key, when blue led is flash for a second, tried to push repeatedly the down button, tried to release the power button when Sony logo appears, and all of these combination. I've tried to use a Quick Boot application, push the recovery menu, but the factory menu is appearing. Can somebody tell me, how can I enter the recovery menu? I am using this: PhilZ_Touch_cwm6_M2_LB.flashable.zip

Doesn't helped, but I figured it myself. http://vaso.hu/blog/mobile/2015/06/sony-xperia-m2-enter-recovery-mode/ In my case, I should need to hold down the power and down key, and do not release any of them, and release both of them when blue led flash.

I have an iphone 3gs with ios 6.1.3 update works well while you are discontinued on but the phone enters recovery mode, can not turn it on or off and when I connect it to the computer does nothing, I have restored several times since itunes when but the flaw allows continuous, wanted to know if there is solution to the problem. thanks

"We're Sorry, Activation Server Temporarily Unavailable, contact Customer Care...Your request Could Not Be Completed?"
99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.

• IPhone 4S suddenly enters Recovery Mode by itself?

Hi,
I need help recovering data from my wife's iPhone. It's an iPhone 4S, running iOS 5.0, un-jailbroken. She clicked on the app 'Dragon Story' and her phone went into recovery mode. Thing is, she has never backed up the iPhone since purchasing it in Oct 2011 even after numerous reminders from me. I know, I should have just done it for her. What saddens me is that we have lost all photos of our now 3 month old baby (2000+ photos).
It has never been jailbroken before, but I tried using Redsn0w, iRecovery, Recboot to kick it out of recovery mode but nothing works. Doing a hard reset just boots it back into recovery mode. Can someone please help me interpret the iRecovery log below and see what's wrong with it?

Entering recovery mode, starting command prompt
Can we recover the photos without doing a restore, and if we HAD to do a restore, can we recover the photos afterwards using third party software? Any suggestions and advice is most welcome. I think my wife has learnt her lesson, she was bawling her eyes out last night for losing all of our baby's pictures. Please help!
p.s. From what I've gathered, I can't kick it out of recovery mode because a bootrom exploit has not been found for the 4S. Should I wait unti one is released, or do you reckon it will never happen?
Thanks in advance guys.

Nevermind I was able to get out of recovery thanks to tinyumbrella

• 3GS Enters Recovery Mode randomly!

3GS bought when new, is now randomly entering Recovery Mode. Seems like it does it more often than not when I am out of town and away from my computer.
It has been doing this since 4.0 release. It is now starting to do it more frequently.
Any idea's would be helpful as I am about 2+ hours away from a Apple Store.

It has enterered Recovery Mode again, this time I cannot get it out. I was running iOS 5 B7, so I tried restoring to that, I get the message "the iphone iphone could not be restored. this device isn't eligible for the requested build".
So ok, not a biggy I will just go back to 4.3.5, nope. I get error 1015. Now I put the phone into DFU mode(black screen only) and try both ways. Nothing, it gets to installing my new firmware and either itunes crashes when it gets close to finishing or the same errors pop back up.
So now I downloaded a few different softwares, TinyUmbrella, and Recboot, those do not work either.
Any ideas?

• Unable to exit Recovery Mode/Firmware Problem/Portable Device not detec

Well. A veritable catalogue of errors, to be fair.
In attempting to solve my truncated WMA file issue of yesterday, I decided to install the upgrade to MTP Firmware 2.00.2. It crashed during the transfer, but since my Micro's music library was wiped in the process (as promised), I concluded that the installation had, in fact, been successful.
However, WMP0 suddenly couldn't detect the Micro. No matter what I did. Ah, I thought, the Firmware installation didn't work after all. So, following the advice on this forum, I entered Recovery Mode and attempted to delete/reload the new Firmware via the recovery menu.
'Deleting Firmware', declared a little pop-up, chirpily. Then 'Update Firmware Now'. I tried re-running the Firmware update installer, but the Micro was still not detected. So I tried a reboot via the recovery menu, only to receive a 'Firmware Problem' message. I knew that. That's why I was trying to re-load the firmware. But how can I when the Micro isn't detected, and. . . . Vicious circle.
Please help. I have my Micro boxed and ready to send back to Amazon, but if there's a walk-through solution anyone can give me, I'd rather not return this little begger (I've become rather attached to it).
Regards, and thanks in advance.

Just spoken to Noel on the UK Support helpline, and he suggested restoring my PC back to yesterday's config in order to get it to recognise the Micro as a portable device. Only then will I be able to re-load the new firmware, and (hopefully) reboot the Micro successfully. Not entirely sure whether this will help, and seems to me to be a case of the tail wagging the dog.Anyway, I'll give it a try tonight and update this thread with the result.JP
I have the exact same problem and the agent on the line told me the exact same thing,it didn't work.

• HT201412 iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1 randomly enters recovery mode

Since two weeks ago my phone started behaving badly just before the new update was released.
While locked it happens that it enters recovery mode (iTunes says that, while another software I downloaed to try to force it out says it is on "soft DFU mode") and won't exit it for hours: indeed after a bunch of time I'm able to turn it back to functioning by pressing the Home Button and the Power Button in random sequences (when I mean random, I mean random: it doesn't just wake up following either the 'exit recovery mode' or 'exit dfu mode').
I restored it, yet the same still happens. It is now, basically, an unpredictable piece of junk metal.
Any ideas?
Notes: it is not jailbroken nor it has ever been, the software is up to date.

Try restoring as a NEW device (not from a backup) to see if it works properly.
