Unable to establish Network using WRT54GS V 6.0

I have had problems with this router since yesterday. I downloaded the new firmware V1.52.2 and that's when my problems started. I was losing my internet connection intermittantly. I plugged everything directly into my cable modem and I didn't lose my connection for an hour. I plugged everything back into the router and within 1-2 minutes I'd lose my connection. I'd get it back up in about 10 seconds, but as you can imagine it's a nightmare to do any downloads, play games, etc. I've had this router going on 8 months now, and it's worked like a charm up till yesterday. The reason I upgraded my firmware yesterday was so I could put my PS3 on the network and be "up to date" with everything. Anyways, so after all this frustration I decided I'd start all over with the router. I hit the reset button for 30 seconds. Now, the WLAN light doesn't come on, and the Power light blinks rapidly. When I run the Linksys EasyLink Advisor to set things back up, it says I'm not connected to the router. I've double and triple checked the connections. I hear the snap, and it works when I plugged directly into the cable modem. I think it has something to do with the WLAN light not being lit or the Power light flashing rapidly. Any ideas what it could be?

It seems that router is not working properly after upgrade & even the power light is flashing ....
Power down the router for atleast 1- 2 minutes .... power up the router & see if power light is solid or not...
If so check the Ip address under Local area network & try to open the set up page once again ....
After opening the set up page .... look for firmware upgrade if it is properly upgraded or not...

. . . but can browse the net using handset alone; PC suite can do other functions but OTA is not able to connect. This happened after I downloaded the latest PC Suite 7. Recommendation of FAQ/Help is to check connections settings (duh) and have cooperated with instructions. Nope, didnt work. Have tried:
Uninstall; install of PC Suite to the letter 5x
    Reset phone to factory settings
Use settings wizard to ensure proper internet settings
Was recommended download usb cable driver - link is non existent
Tested using a different N70 unit on my laptop - still no go (now doesnt that mean there is a software issue????)
Most of the help desk tips at the call center are stop gap and rarely meant to go the distance assisting you (like when a blanket fix is recommended - go to service center to have phone software upgraded) or the standard spiel of "we'll put your case on record and we'll call you back in hours" and sometimes they do call back or not. So far in my case none of the tips have worked. I am about to reformat my pc, and if this doesnt work, then what can we say about the problem? Did we get a dud PC Suite, a lemon, a beta version?
How then can I browse the net using my mobile as modem? I guess I am venting my frustrations here - but hey, may I challenge Nokia to find a fix for connectivity issues related to use of a Nokia Phone as a modem? Check out the discussions and you will find similar issues echoed all over. Or is Nokia just waiting for one of us indomitable tinkerers to find a solution and share it in these discussions?

I REFORMATTED MY PC TO SEE IF IT IS A PROBLEM WITH MY LAPTOP SOFTWARE. I AM STILL UNABLE TO ESTABLISH NETWORK CONNECTION USING MY PHONE AS A MODEM. IT SAYS CHECK CONNECTION SETTINGS, BUT HOW FAR CAN YOU GO WITH THAT? THE CONNECTION SETTINGS ARE FINE! I CAN BROWSE THE NET USING THE HANDSET ALONE, SO WHAT GIVES? I CHALLENGE NOKIA TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM.

  • Unable to establish network endpoint connectivity from an executable using localhost - error: -314350

    Hi,
We have two executables, one a sender and another a receiver. The receiver initiates a connection using the IP address of the sender's computer. They use the network endpoint connectivity mechanism to establish connection and transfer data. Everything (connectivity establishment, data transfer etc) works when the sender and receiver run on separate computers. If they run on the same computer the connection cannot be established and we get error message -314350 from 'Create Network Stream Reader Endpoint' VI on the receiver side. We tried using the IP address explicitly as well using localhost as the IP address. None of the options work.
Now if we run the sender and receiver VIs from within the Labview environment, on the same computer, everything works fine. Everythng works whether we explicitly use the IP address of the computer or just use localhost.
If one of the two runs as an executable and other runs in the environment, we get the same error message (-314350)
Does anybody know what seems to be the problem ?

In case anybody else runs into this problem, you might want to check out the Endpoint URLs section in the following tutorial.  To elaborate further on the issue, when creating an endpoint, you must supply a unique endpoint name that doesn't already exist in the system or an error will be generated.  This is fairly straight forward when dealing with a single application instance on a given machine.  However, if you have multiple application instances running on the same machine, things become more challenging.  If you have two applications App1 and App2 that both contain a reader endpoint named MyReader, we need to ensure the data received from the network is properly routed to each application.  To facilitate this, each endpoint is registered in a named context, and only one application can create endpoints in that named context.  If a second application tries to create an endpoint in a named context already being used by another application on that machine, you'll receive error -314350.  This is analagous to how applications on the same machine can't use the same port number when using TCP/IP to communicate.  If you don't explicitly specify a context when naming the endpoint, we'll attempt to create the endpoint in the default context (which is equivalent to the empty string).  This means things will work fine when running both VIs from the development environment since both VIs are in the same application instance.  However, if you create a built app for each VI and run both applications on the same machine, you'll receive error -314350 unless you've gone to the effort to make sure your endpoint names are unique across contexts.  The same thing would happen if you ran one VI in the 2010 dev environment and the second in the 2011 dev environment on the same machine.  I hope this helps clarify things.

  • Segregating Network using WRT54GS

I have a client who runs a business out of his home, lets call it oilismoney. He has a dc running 2003 with 3 workstations. He also has 2 other machines which are not a part of the domain which need to access the internet.
The equipment we have as of now is a powerconnect 2708 switch, wrt54gs, and an older linksys befxxx wired router. He is connecting to the internet via a motorola surfboard modem.
Can someone please help me figure out how to get two separate networks going that use the same internet connection, but cannot talk to each other.

Connect the modem to a router1 (internet port) in gateway mode. (If your modem has also a router function you may use the modem as router1).
Connect router2 (internet port) in gateway mode to router1 (LAN port).
Connect router3 (internet port) in gateway mode to router1 (LAN port).
Assign LAN IP address 192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 to router1.
Set internet connection settings on router1 as required by ISP.
Assign LAN IP address 192.168.2.1/255.255.255.0 to router2.
Set internet connection settings on router2 to DHCP.
Assign LAN IP address 192.168.3.1/255.255.255.0 to router3.
Set internet connection settings on router3 to DHCP.
Now anything behind router2 and router3 is protected as if they were directly connected to the internet. Computers connected to router2 or router3 cannot talk to computers behind the other router.
If you need shared computers (e.g. a printer for both networks), connect it directly to router1. You have to configure the printer with IP address as workgroup browsing will not work through a gateway.

I'm suddenly unable to join my Airport network with my PowerBook G4.  I am able to access my network with all of my other devices.  How can I once again establish access using my PowerBook G4?

Bruce777 solved this for me, thank you Bruce! My printer now works perfectly on my new wifi network!
Bruce's  instructions, for anyone else having the same issue:
    - delete any previously set up printers
    - scrub old hp software and update software to get the hp 2.8 drivers
    - remove the usb cable from the printer if you have one connected
    - reset the printer network to hpsetup (hold down the power button and press network button 2x and then cancel 3x, release power button.)
    - print out the wireless network test report (hold down the network button and press the update button 2x). verify the network name / ssid is hsetup
    - got to sys prefs > network and change the mac wireless network to hpsetup
    - go to the sys pref > print scan
    - add the HP 8000 printer
    - click on the options and supplies button and click on the Show Printer Webpage
    - click on the networking tab > wireless in the left pane > start network wizard and change the network from hpsetup to your network
    - finish (this page may freeze up.  close the browser)
    - go back to the sys prefs and change the wireless network back to your networt
    - go to the printer and print out the wireless network test report (press network button and update button 2x).  Check that the SSID is your network
    - go to sys prefs > print scan > select your printer > options & supplies > show printer webpage > network info (check ssid and compare to wireless network test report)
    - try printing something to your printer.  It might take a little time the first print.

You are not addressing Apple here. If you have a problem, describe it and someone might be able to help. Just to be sure, the wi-fi on the phone will go off after the phone goes into sleep mode unless it is actively being used. This is a battery saving measure. If you are actively using the internet, and the phone is still awake, then the wi-fi should remain connected.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried.

  • Droid 3 - Unable to connect to AT&T U-verse wireless network and unable to download apps using 3G

    Hi,
I just purchased a DROID 3.  It will not connect to my home network which is AT&T U-verse.  It goes through the authentication process and then Wi-Fi shows as disconnected and the network shows as disabled.  Everything else is connecting to the router just fine, computers, printers, blackberry. I have toggled wi-fi on and off and get the same result.
I was able to connect to other wireless networks, AT&T DSL, mobile hotspots, just not AT&T U-verse.
In addition, I am unable to download apps using the 3G network.
    Any solutions out there?
    Thanks

Thanks for responding.  I've tried all of those already.  I've also manually configured my home wi-fi connection via "Add Wi-Fi network.  It still goes through the authentication process and disconnects.
Is there something that needs to be configured on my router.  It's a 2Wire 3800HGV-B.
Regarding downloads, I have a gmail ccount.  The message is that I need a Wi-Fi connection in order to download.
    Thanks
On my router, it is set to accept connections only from devices (MAC Addresses) I allow. Maybe you have yours set up that way.
Also if you have a passcode on the router, you will need to search for the device, then add the passcode to your phone.

Thanks for the info.  On your Mac......
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the picture of the AirPort Extreme
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window that appears
Edit/backspace out the Wireless Network Name and type in a new name that you want to use
Click Update at the lower right of the window
Wait a full minute for the AirPort Extreme to restart

    Hi Dqzz,
According to your description, you encounter the "Unable to establish server mode" error. Right?
In Analysis Services, this issue has been reported and it has been fixed in the later services pack. Please see: SSMS
raises "Unable to establish server mode" error if SSAS encounters errors during startup. However, it also can be related to running out of memory issue which will cause this error. Please refer to a blog below:

  • Unable to connect to WPA network using BCM4311 card

I have BCM4311 wifi card. I am trying to connect to a WPA-PSK network using wpa_supplicant. Initially, I tried with b43 driver. I had installed b43-firmware from AUR. It did not work. I then tried, broadcom-wl driver. It did not work either.

  • Computer unable to establish two-way communication to J4580 through Airport Extreme

I have my J4580 connected to an Airport Extreme base station via usb.  I've installed the printer software on my HP laptop (Vista) and Bonjour recognizes the printer as networked & installed, but when I try to print, i receive an error message "Computer is unable to establish two-way communication with the device" and the printer queue shows an error.  I've attempted to find a solution through the posts, but haven't seen much that seems to apply to J4580.  Any help???  Thanks!

I came across this similar problem and spent days trying to figure it out. I knew I was close when I tried to start the HPZ12
service and it kept failing with "unable to find the specified file". I traced it with a process monitor and found that it was looking
for a registry key that was not present. Specifically:
    HKLM\System\CurrentCosntrolSet\Services\Pml Driver HPZ12\Parameters
It was looking for the string:
ServiceDLL which should be set to:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\HPZipm12.dll (or something similar)
The unfortunate thing is that no matter how many times you install and uninstall the HP drivers, then don't reset the registry keys
for the HPZ12 service. In the end, I ended up doing the following:
    1. Uninstall software and reboot
    2. Go through registry editor and delete the PML key (just did a search for all PML occurences)
    3. Deleted the c:\program files\Hewlett-Packard directory
    4. Deleted the c:\program files\HP directory
    5. Deleted the c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\ contents (anything that referred to an HP printer or driver)
    6. Deleted the HKLM\Software\Hewlett-Packard registry key
    7. Rebooted
    8. Reinstalled and everything worked.
I suggest you backup any registry keys prior to deleting them in case you make a mistake. You can use the Export feature on
the right-click context menu to save each key you delete, or use some tool to make a backup of your registry prior to making
these changes. Similarly, for the files, I renamed directories or created backups of their contents.
Once I reinstalled, I found that there were TONS of new registry keys added that weren't there before. So the real problem is
with HPs install/uninstall. It doesn't clean up properly and any aborted or failed instalation will leave the drivers in a poor state.

    Dear All,
I found out why this is happening(with the Help of Oracle support), so updating it for future use.
Tuxedo uses random ports for clients that have connected to WSL listener. thats why my first error
152035.WEBAPP!?proc.4020.3152.0: LIBWSC_CAT:1064: ERROR: Unable to establish WSH connection 0x000221150afea683
was coming. this means (as per the documentations) that the WSL have accepted the connection but the next step of connecting to WSH is not done. which causes the above error.
The resolution can be 2 things.
    1. Allow allow ports of Server or range of ports starting from port of WSL e.g. port WSNADDR port 7777 to 7777+2000 ports , so that clients can access the WSL port + 2000 ports
    2. add a parameter on the tuxedo server ubb file to define a range of ports which can handle client requests. (most probably in the WSL CLOPT portion)
if your network has security and it only allows some ports to be accessed , u can get this error.
    Thanks.

  • "Unable to load network list" instead of "Hello..."

I am using my 3G iPhone for more than 6 months.
Latest OS 2.2.1, and previous versions are causing a lot of headaches when I switching my iPhone upon arrival.
I am travelling a lot in Europe, every day; I have a Company phone, old Nokia 6300 and my private iPhone 3G.
Nokia connects network in one minute (average), but iPhone...
Instead of "Hello" I am getting always "Unable to load network list" when I switching OFF Airplane mode. There is only one button active: "Automatic" mode of network browsing. When "Automatic" is pressed, iPhone searches network for 3 to 5 minutes and lists the networks available in that specific region.
There are no automatic attempts to connect to any of these listed networks, so I need to select one of the listed networks manually, tap it again, and after some minute or two I am getting service...
I was trying different combinations of 3G and Roaming modes, but did not have any success...
All these headaches started when I performed first OS update.
I am not sure the factory OS version (probably 2.0.2) when I bought it, but only that one was free of the Carrier network browsing bugs.
I am becoming tired of tapping and tapping trying to force to connect to network my iPhone… I tried numerous times OS Restore with iTunes, but no help…
    I found a topic in forum: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1671274&tstart=270
But his topic has been archived - replies are not allowed, This question is not answered.
Any ideas?- and does anybody have this or similar problem like mine?

    Hi there,
I had kind of the same thing where i would arrive abroad or back in the UK after being abroad and my iPhone would take 20-30 minutes to get a signal and when loading up network selection would always get unable to display message.
Had phone replaced by apple and the issue hasnt occured in the once ive been abroad since - connected pretty much straight away.
Just wondering if you are having the issue of delayed text messages where people text you and sometimes it takes 30mins-few hours to get delivered to your phone. Or the issue of people sometimes call you and you good signal and it goes straight to voicemail??

No it's not stealing. They have an allowance that you can share with so many computers/devices. You'll have to authorize her computer to play/use anything bought on your acct. You can do this under the Store menu at top when iTunes is open on her computer.
As far as getting it all on her computer....I think but I am not sure (because I don't use the feature) but I think if you turn on Home Sharing in iTunes it may copy the music to her computer. I don't know maybe it just streams it. If nothing else you can sign into your acct on her computer and download it all to her computer from the cloud. Not sure exactly how to go about that, I haven't had to do that yet. I wonder if once you authorize her computer and then set it up for automatic downloads (under Edit>Preferences>Store) if everything would download. Sorry I'm not much help on that.
