Unable to export book layout to PDF or BLURB! Using Lightroom 4.4's book module on Mac OS X 10.6.8.
After investing a bunch of time laying out a photo book, I would like to generate a PDF in order to proof it before sending the book to BLURB for printing. After numerous attempts, I am unable to generate a PDF of the book or, by clicking the 'Send Book to BLURB' button, access the sign in window for uploading to BLURB. Although, if I create a new book (without images or text) I am able to access the window for saving it (the blank book) as a PDF to my hard drive and I am also able to access the sign in window for uploading to BLURB. I could sure use some help. Please let me know what I might be doing wrong! Thank you very much.
You're running PowerPC code under Rosetta emulation on an Intel based system -- and Rosetta has become increasingly unstable (and Apple got rid of it in 10.7, so they won't be fixing any of the bugs)
Your best solution is to upgrade to an Intel native version of Photoshop.

You need to go the authorization windows and in the search box please type "PDF" that would take u to the option that u are seeking then u can assign full read only or no authorizations as per your requirement .
also make sure that the path has been correctly defined for pdf files

Hi, I am having a little trouble with exporting images to another drive and Catalogue and need some help if anyone can give me some advice
I am currently using Lightroom 5.6 and operating on a Mac with OSX Ver 10.9.5.
I am receiving an error problem when doing the following -
I am exporting selected photos from a particular Catalogue saved on Drive 1 to a folder created on another Drive where a Lightroom Catalogue has been created. In this Catalogue I have arranged for the images once exported to be moved to a different folder - I used the Auto Import process under the File dialogue box.
When processing the Export I receive an error message for each of the images being exported indicating the following -
Heading Import Results
Some import operations were not performed
Could not move a file to requested location. (1)
then a description of the image with file name
Box Save As Box OK
If I click the OK button to each image I can then go to the other Catalogue and all images are then transferred to the file as required.
To click the OK button each time is time consuming, possibly I have missed an action or maybe you can advise an alternative method to save the time in actioning this process.
Thanks if you can can help out.Thank You, but this is a gong show. Why is something that is so important to us all so very, very difficult to do?

Any ideas?
My student has been using Lightroom 4 with Photoshop CS5 on her Mac for well over a year. Because of the difference between the Camera raw version available to her in Photoshop CS5 and the raw process in Lightroom 4, she has been exporting her raw images from Lightroom and choosing the "Render using Lightroom option when it popped up in the dialogue box. She has been doing this for over a year and a half without any problem. Today when she hit Command E no dialogue box appeared and the image just opened in Photoshop. I'm concerned that all of her Lightroom edits are not being rendered to Photoshop. Anyone have an idea as to how we can get the "Render using Lightroom" dialogue back?

Hi
I'm using Lightroom 5 loaded onto a Windows PC, 64 bit. I've cleared up disc space so that is not a problem.
Building the book is OK. But when I select the Send Book to Blurb button, it gets to about 60-70% complete but then stops.
The book is 154 pages and comprises mainly tiff files (originally exported from Nikon NX2), so file size is fairly large.
What are my options?I had the same problen with Lightroom 5 - Prepares the files but won't Upload to Blurb. Tried numerours times. It is a Landscape size Book 132 Pages. There is a BUG in Lightroom and here is how I got it to work:
Check each slide and make sure APPLY BACKGROUND GLOBALLY, GRAPHIC or BACKGROUND COLOR and not checked,. If so Uncheck them.
Go to EDIT and SELECT ALL Slides in the Book.
Select Apply Background Globally - turn it off and on several times, then leave it off
Select GRAPHIC - turn it off and then turn it on and off several times
Select BACKGROUND COLOR - turn it on then off then on then off
I ended up with APPLY GLOBALLY unchecked for Every Page.
GRAPHIC was turned on with a Graphic set at 12% Opacity on every Page
Again check each page first for these Checkmarks or just fix exverything with SELECT ALL.
Background Color was Turned off.
NOW UPLOAD THE BOOK - It took a couple hours but it uploaded without a hitch., I turned off all Firewalls and Plugged directly into the Router. I am using an IMac 27" with 32 GB of memory and this is the only way it would work. The Mac is about 7 days old and Lightroom 5 is also 7 days old. BUGGIEST piece of software I have ever used.
Note - one of the above steps fixes the BUG - I am not sure which one but one will fix your book. It finally uploaded to BLURB today. It took a few hours though. -
Unable to export tdr files to pdf.
I am using DIAdem 10.2 and windows XP 64 bit. When I attempt to export pdf DIAdem freezes and becomes non responsive. No error messages occur. The same thing occurs for HTML export. The file sizes are typically in the 2-3GB a piece range but the same problem occurs when trying to export a single 2d graph, I used the time speed data from the start up example. Any help with this would be great as the files are too big to be carried around on a thumb drive.
Thanks EdHi edmiles55,
DIAdem is not officially supported on Windows XP 64 bit. This is mentioned in the DIAdem readme file under System Requirements:
Operating Systems
- Windows 2000, Service Pack 4 or later
- Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 2 or later
- Windows Vista 32 bit
- Windows Vista 64 bit (as 32 bit application)
This might be why you are experiencing this issue. Oftentimes on an unsupported OS, a lot of the functionality will work, but not all of it.

Unable to Export to anything except pdf.
I can't get my exports to work in any format except pdf.
For example if I run:
ByteArrayInputStream byteIS = (ByteArrayInputStream)reportClientDocument.getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.MSExcel );
I get several long exception messages.
I get:
Failed to load the resource 'UnknownExportFormat' from the bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle@1bf98eb.
java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key UnknownExportFormat
Followed by:
com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKException: UnknownExportFormat---- Error code:-2147467259 Error code name:failed ...
Followed by:
Caused by: com.crystaldecisions.reports.exportinterface2.exceptions.UnknownExportFormatException: UnknownExportFormat
Obviously Crystal gives what appear to be intentionally unhelpful exceptions, so I don't know if that does anything for anyone. Could the problem be missing jars or does anyone have any other ideas?
I thank you in advance,
JoeI am usgin latest jars and i could create report in the following formats
u2022 _crystalReports
u2022 _MSWord
u2022 _MSExcel
u2022 _RTF
u2022 _editableRTF
but when i try to create in any of these hereunder
u2022 _text
u2022 _characterSeparatedValues
u2022 _tabSeparatedText
u2022 _XML
i am getting the following error

Problem to export a report (to PDF) after converting my reports to CR13
I have an old project with reports developped using Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2003 (.NET 1.1). I want to convert them so I can now use Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 (with .NET 3.5).
I installed Crystal Reports for VS2010 and I converted my reports to the new format. Unfortunately, one of my reports is not working anymore.
My ASP.NET application generate the report and export it as a PDF. I use CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.Export().
Everytime I run this method, an exception is thrown...
System.Exception was unhandled by user code
Message=System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80041004):

StackTrace:
I also tried to export the report (using PDF format) at design time with the "Export Report" button in Preview mode. It didn't work. But, I can export the report at design time using another format type (like XML).
The old version of te report (using .NET 1.1, CR9) work fine. As I said, other reports in that same project work perfectly.
Is someone have an idea of what's wrong!
Thanks!
Max.The most common cause of this problem is having very large detailed images, or lots and lots of images in your report. The Crystal Report engine changed a lot from 9.1 to 13. The big change was from 9.1 to 10 though when we started using the RAS InProc engine.
The Crystal reporting engine is not efficient at handling the images and it can cause memory issues like you are seeing. As a test, try suppressing the images that show up frequently in your report and retry your export. If it works you'll have your answer and you'll need a new creative way to design your report without so many images. -
Unable to export from the Book Module in LR-4.4 to Blurb, PDF and JPEG
I have made a book in the book module and was really looking forward to send it to Blurb for printing. I push the "Send book to Blurb... " button but nothing happens. I have tried to export to PDF and JPEG aswell, but nothing. I am Connected to internet, I have an account at Blurb but no reaction. Are there any settings I have missed or are there any bugs that prevents me from exporting? Do Blurb ship to Norway or is that the problem? Please help!!!
When you click on <Send Book to Blurb> a dialog should come up that asks for your ID and password for your Blurb account. I don't know if Blurb ships to Norway - you probably can find out at the Blurb website. But I don't think that this is the problem here since you also cannot export a PDF or JPGs.
I don't know of any specifics why this is not possible for you but it's worth trying to replace the Preference File.
This file can go "funny" and is then responsible for all kinds of strange behavior of Lr. The remedy is replacing the Preference File.
BTW: Re-installing Lr or updating / upgrading Lr does not replace the Preference File since it is designed to "survive" upgrades.
See here for where to find the Preference file for your OS: http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/preference-file-locations-lightroo m-4.html

Export book to PDF doesn't remember previous settings - CS5
I've just noted a somewhat annoying "bug" in the book export. When I export book to PDF--which I do a lot--I have to rename the file and reselect the type of PDF I'm exporting every time. It should remember the last settings I used.I believe in the past that it did.
I also really hate that it always defaults to the interactive PDF--which I will probably never use. Half the time I forget to check that setting, rename the file, click OK, and then have to cancel and go through all the steps again because I forgot that the stupid thing can't remember that I want a Print PDF. I have gone through this annoying misbehavior several times in just the last few minutes. Add that up over all the hours that I work on books and do that export and we're talking about a huge time waster. Am I missing a way to set a defaullt here? The book export or the regular export? Mine definitely always goes back to interactive PDF. Even after I've saved a print PDF several times. It's really annoying.

Export Book to PDF shows bad colours
Hi all,
I have created a book in Aperture, starting from a set of RAW/TIFF pictures.
If I preview/export the book in PDF, it looks VERY BAD in the dark areas (posterized to very few RGB tones).
The problem appears ONLY when I use the "Save as PDF" option from the "Print Book" menu, or I make a preview before placing the order.
What I tested so far:
- If I export from Aperture each single image to PDF (or tiff/jpg), the problem does not occur!
- The images look perfect also if I open them from other apps, like photoshop/iPhoto/preview.
- I created a test book with the images from iPhoto and there the exported PDF book looks fine.
- I installed Aperture on a different computer (a mac mini recently reinstalled), and the problem is still there.
Please consider that:
1. my monitor (iMac 24") is hardware calibrated
2. the source pictures are in RAW (no color profile on them) and (just a couple) in TIFF (16bit, Adobe RGB). I also tried reimporting in the album jpg converted versions, with no better results.
3. OS and Aperture are updated to the latest versions.
I would exclude a problem of the source images (because Aperture/iPhoto can export them properly to PDF)
It looks to me like a problem of the PDF rendering engine when used for exporting Aperture books.
Anyone had ever experienced something similar?
Any advice?

How to export book pdf using custom presets for all book files in indesign using javascript.
Hi jackkistens,
Try the below js code.
Note: you can change your preset name in below (e.g, Your preset name).
var myBook = app.activeBook;
myBook.exportFile(ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE, File (myBook.filePath+"/"+myBook.name.replace(/\.indb/g, ".pdf")), false, "Your preset name", myBook.bookContents, "Book_PDF", false);

var myBook = app.activeBook;
