  • Unable to export from iPhoto

I have tried to export individual photos and an album as a file(s) to my desktop and to smugmug via the iPhoto plugin without success. I have also put a new folder in Pictures and have tried to export the photos to it without success.
When exporting to desktop, the message comes up "Exporting...Unable to create /users/name/desktop."
When using the smugmug plugin, iPhoto "unexpectedly" shuts down!
I have tried to drag and drop photos from iPhoto without success of course.
I will appreciate your help and suggestions. This is the first time that I've had problems exporting from iPhoto.

Well the reason you can’t export is because iPhoto can’t find the pictures.
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Colour correction for H.264/YouTube export from premier pro cc, help.

Hi, I am just finishing up a project that I put together in Premier Pro CC and SpeedGrade. I did a little test export, as it's for YouTube I used H.264. On looking at it afterwards it looked washed out with the blacks losing there depth, the saturation dropping and a loss of contrast. I tried checking on a few monitors and then tried uploading a piece to YouTube and it looks the same across the monitors and the same on YouTube this washed out drab change. So I tried reimporting the export back into Premier Pro and it looks fine in Premier Pro and SpeedGrade. I can go back and push my blacks and whites but it'll have to beyond 0 and 100 to get my contrast back and it feels wrong using the scopes like this. Dose anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Yes that's how I'm working. In Premier Pro CC and using the direct link to SpeedGrade then back to Premier Pro and exporting from there. I'm not sure you even can export from SG if you use the direct link from PP. I'm unsure now if it's the H.264 to blame, I tried a few other's and they also look washed out. At present I'm having to go over my old grade, that took days, adding more contrast and saturation seeing if I can get an acceptable image when I export.
I have tried AVI uncompressed, a few flavours of H.264 including some of the pre set ones like the YouTube ones and some image sequence's. The JPEG sequence was fine, same colours and contrast as within Adobe but all the H.264 and the AVI were washed out no matter what setting I put them on.
In the picture below you can see from the left first a waveform then the image in SpeedGrade with the scopes showing the blacks well below 0, next the same image back in PremierPro, then the exported H.246 file.
    and here are the settings.

  • Unable to Export from LR4

Lion 10.7.4 MacPro  -  I cannot export from Lightroom 4 in my main Admin account. Lightroom gives me an error message - Spent much time with Adobe and it was suggested that it was an Apple issue. Apple tech doesn't think so. Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    JT

Not sure if this will help your situation, but I just had the same problem and tracked it to a weird issue with Lr not giving me ownership or write permission on this folder or its contents:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/
Once I changed the owner to me and gave myself read/write access this this folder and its contents, I was able to export.
The backstory as to (I think) why this happened is in my post in this thread.

  • Unable to export from iPhoto '09

When I try to export photos from iPhoto 09 I am getting an "unable to create" error message. What is going on?

Has it occurred to you that the reason you're having issues with iPhoto is because you're using Picasa on the same Library? You know it's not designed for that use and Picasa hacks the Library - something not supported - to try and use it.
This time: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File' - not Show Original... A Finder Window +should+ open with the file selected. Does it?

  • Unable to export from the Book Module in LR-4.4 to Blurb, PDF and JPEG

I have made a book in the book module and was really looking forward to send it to Blurb for printing. I push the "Send book to Blurb... " button but nothing happens. I have tried to export to PDF and JPEG aswell, but nothing. I am Connected to internet, I have an account at Blurb but no reaction. Are there any settings I have missed or are there any bugs that prevents me from exporting? Do Blurb ship to Norway or is that the problem? Please help!!!

When you click on <Send Book to Blurb> a dialog should come up that asks for your ID and password for your Blurb account. I don't know if Blurb ships to Norway - you probably can find out at the Blurb website. But I don't think that this is the problem here since you also cannot export a PDF or JPGs.
I don't know of any specifics why this is not possible for you but it's worth trying to replace the Preference File.
This file can go "funny" and is then responsible for all kinds of strange behavior of Lr. The remedy is replacing the Preference File.
BTW: Re-installing Lr or updating / upgrading Lr does not replace the Preference File since it is designed to "survive" upgrades.

  • Unable to export from iPhoto to other location

Would appreciate any help and guidance with above please.
I don't normally use iPhoto but I have a couple of photos' I'd like to transfer to my Pictures folder.
When I select Export function, I select the desired location and click the Export button. A small ' exporting ' window pops up with a flash of the blue and white chevron (doing something ) strip followed by a statement ' unable to create/users/names/pictures.
    Probably doing something wrong.
    Thanks & regards

Unsure as to how but I've obviously done something wrong..it does help to read the book first!
However, other images in iphoto export ok,email ok and I have imported into iphoto and then exported back so everything does seem to be working ok.
I've obviously messed up somehow with about 5 particular images that'll I'll put down to user error!!
Thanks for prompt response Terence and have given you a green tick for making me look further. Should have tried that in the first place.
    Thanks again, regards John

  • Unable to export from QT Pro after 10.5 "upgrade"

I am trying to export an audio file using QuickTime Pro. I used to be able to open an mp3 and then export it as an AIFF. After "upgrading" to 10.5 I get an error message that says: You do not have sufficient permissions for this operation. I have run "repair permissions" from Disk Utility. I have read and write permission on the disk I'm trying to write to. I have permission to read and write the file.

I suspect you have some other sort of permissions problem, rather than a QuickTime problem. Try opening some small mp3 file, then export it as an aif file to your Desktop. Does that work? Can you copy that file from your Desktop to the other drive? How about opening a file and then doing a simple "Save as..." to the other drive? Does that work?

  • Unable to export from Captivate 4 to Flash CS4

    Hello everyone!
I am attempting to export a captivate project over to flash CS4.  However when it goes from captivate over to flash the result is basically a slide show. It does not show any of the animations that are present in Captivate. I also keep recieving an error message.
I have searched for how to solve this problem for quite a while now and so far have come up with nothing.
This is the error message that flash gives me:
The following elements in your project have not been converted. They are not supported by this importer.
    508 Compliance
A swf animation slide has been imported. The following files must be made available at publish time:
    Project01_slide_22_0.swf
    DefaultPreloader.swf
Please make sure you publish the project to “C:\Documents and Settings\jmillard\Desktop.” Saving the project to this directory will ensure that test project will work with the swf animation slides.
Unfortunately I am on a tight schedule to get this project done and the Captivate 4 and Flash CS4 I am using are both 30 day trials, so I am in quite a hurry.
If you could please help me I'd greately appreciate it!

  • Having Audio Glitching Issues in Video Export from Premier Pro CS6

I have been exporting video for the first time from Pro CS 6. The audio I am using plays perfectly in the timeline, but after exporting, when I play it back, it sounds very glitchy and it stutters quite a bit. I really hear a "digital fluttering".
I am using fairly common H264 settings for YouTube, and have tried different formats with the same effect. The audio is 48khz at 24bit, and shouldn't be having any problems.  Its actually one song, and I am not using any of the audio from the camera footage. I haven't changed the audio at all, so it's not a conversion problem.
I have even tried to re-marry the song in pro tools, but it just seems to have the same effect. I can't seem to find any threads that address this, except for one, and the solution was not applicable.
Has anyone encountered this issue and figured out the solution?
I am not asking the box to do anything less than totally ordinary, so am a bit confused on this one.

    yes.
here is a sample of the video and audio

  • I am unable to export from cs6 bridge to facebook.

Error message "An error occurred while request facebook connection.  "

It is a very old problem discussed in various older threads, I believe already in CS4.
The short of it, due to rights management only a few countries where allowed for uploading to Facebook.
and a bit shorter, the Export module have been removed per Bridge CC so the option is no longer available.
    A workaround:
Create an action in PS that save the images in the right size in a dedicated folder. Select the files you want and use menu tools / PS / Batch and choose the action to run on the selected files.
Then use FB to upload and choose the dedicated folder. As said, a Workaround.
