Unable to export picture in AdobeRGB(1998) and 8 bit.

Hi all
Im trying to export a picture from Lightroom with the following file settings:
- TIFF
- AdobeRGB (1998)
- 8 bits/components
When the picture file is exported is instead has sRGB and 24 bit in the settings.
Im not quite sure where it goes wrong.
I hope anyone of you can help me out on this one.

This is a minor bug in LR, on both Windows and Mac, that you can safely ignore. LR sets the wrong value for the EXIF:ColorSpace field, and that's what Windows File Explorer is showing. But LR does include the correct ICC profile, which is what color-managed apps pay attention to. If you open the exported TIFF in Photoshop or some other color-managed app, you'll see that it thinks the TIFF is in Adobe RGB (1998).
Note that neither the Mac Finder nor Windows File Explorer can be relied on to display photo metadata. In this case, Windows File Explorer doesn't show you the ICC_Profile field, and the Mac Finder doesn't show EXIF:ColorSpace.

LR was unable to export the catalog's previews and negatives

My first posting in this forum. I want to remove everything from my iMac in order to upgrade from Tiger to Snow Leopard, then reload back. First job is to 'Export as Catalog' all my pics (around 6000) from the Mac to an external hard drive (Maxtor One Touch 4Plus, 450 GB available). I've tried 6 or 7 times and every time get a similar message - see Subject line. I've deleted unnecessary folders, gotten rid of unused keywords, and exported 2000 odd of my earlier photos as JPEGS to archive to reduce the volume. I've reloaded LR and updated to 2.6. And in the Export dialogue box I've ticked 'Export Negative Files' and 'Include Available Previews'. The export gets to about three quarters of the way through each time before I get the error message and I have to abort.
Appreciate any assistance.

Is ALL PHOTOS included in your LR folder hierarchy? If it is not, then you need to right-click (or whatever the Mac equivalent is) on one of the folders in your LR hierarchy, and choose Include Parent Folder. Once you've done that, and copied everything over, you can just Locate Missing Folder on that one top folder and it'll find everything underneath it. If you don't have the parent folder in LR before you copy, you'd have to do Locate Missing Folder on each of the top-level folders.
Once you've copied your photos over, you can rename your local copy of ALL PHOTOS to make sure you're not accidentally finding it, then do the Locate Missing Folder to make sure it works on the Remote Location.
Once you're satisfied your catalog is seeing all the remote photos, and when you're ready, copy your catalog and your previews and backup folders over, and rename the local copy of the Lightroom so you won't accidentally open that copy of the catalog, again. I would copy things, instead of moving them, in case something happens you can start over.
If you are going to immediately upgrade your mac, then copy all three folder, other than the iChat ones, from Pictures to your remote drive and open the remote catalog and find missing folders all in one shot. I suggest doing only the photos, first, in case you want to continue working on the photos, the local copy of the catalog will be faster, but if you're ready to upgrade then just do all the copies at once. The ALL PHOTOS and the previews will be the time-consuming copies, the catalog, itself, won't take very long.

Apple Pro Res 422 HQ export - "render at max depth" and "24 bit or 48 bit depth"?

I'm exporting my 90 minute feature for DCP using the Apple Pro Res 422 HQ codec. The film is 1920x1080 and that is what the export will be. We used a variety of cameras (Canon 7D, Sony XR160, GoPro, Blackmagic in HD) for the film.
For the export options:
Do I check "Render at Maximum Depth"?
Which do I choose - 24 bit or 48 bit depth? - one has to be chosen even when "Render at Maximum Depth" is unchecked
When I asked the DCP house, they said that "Render at Maximum Depth doesn't actually do anything when using this codec" and haven't answered the 24 vs. 48 bit question.

A question for you - what is your workflow where you think you might need this? Keep in mind that the majority of cameras only record 8-bit color, and also in a very highly compressed format, so you won't necessarily gain anything by going to 4444, as the source video is of limited quality already.
Basically, if you don't have any high-bit-depth sources in your timeline to preserve the quality of, there may be little or no benefit to enabling "Max Depth".

Unable to email pictures

I’m unable to email pictures I press send and I see the blue bar fill and then nothing. It never says email sent or anything, not even a message error??? please help thank you!

Does this involve iPhoto in some way? If it does:
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 10 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

Cannot export pictures

I usually export pictures from my library and set a lower resolution to post them online for ebay auctions or whatever. Now in iPhoto 7.0.1 when I pick File>Export when highlighting a picture nothing happens. No prompt for where to export and no dialog about the resolution. It just does nothing. I've tried restarting the app and picking multiple pictures, from library or events etc but still nothing happens.

Disable any third party export plug ins you may have installed (and left over from v6). You can do this using the Get Info window. Select the app in the Applications Folder and go File -> Get Info

Unable to export and library keeps rotating pictures

All of a sudden when I go to export pictures I am getting a message "unable to create volume..."
I noticed that iphoto is also won't let me rotate my images and it seems the images that are wrongly rotated are also the ones preventing me from being able to export properly.
Any suggestions?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to repair permissions in the Library.

Unable to share pictures via instagram and BBM on iPhone 6

I am unable to share my pictures via Instagram and BBM.

The Instagram app gives you options to take a picture using the camera and sharing but if you take a picture simply through the camera app you do not have options to share to Instagram. I would assume that BlackBerry Messenger is the same way. You can go to Settings and then scroll down to each of the apps and make sure that they have access to the camera. You can see the difference of having access to the previously taken photos by looking at the Settings for Facebook. You see that you have options to access the camera and an option to access Photos.

is it possible to export pictures which are stored on one mac in the iphoto lib and to import them an an other computer. So that i can manually sync the folders.
Or does any one knows an other way to sync (both directions)

Yes - you just export them from iPhoto on computer 1 - move them to the other computer and import them into iPhoto there

If the computers are connected in some way you can use iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - -to move photos between the libraries

According to your post, my understanding is that you got the error "unable to download owssvr.dll" when exporting a list to Excel.
owssvr.dll is the module given by Microsoft to read the data from SharePoint Lists using remote procedure call.
You can find the OWSSVR.DLL in SharePoint 2010 Server Physical Path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\ISAPI.
Please check whether it exists in SharePoint 2010 Server Physical Path.
Please check whether you export a list to Excel correctly.
Generally, the issue is caused by the brower. Please reset the IE to check whether it works.
In addition, you can repair the Office to check whether it works.

Strange that your dealer could not help.
