Unable to export sequence and transcode in Media Encoder

Adobe CS4 Premiere Pro.  I think I have done this sucessfully before and cannot remember what is different.
I have a one hour tape that I successfuly captured in its entirety and burned to DVD.  I take the original footage and in the source monitor carve up the original footage into 3 to 5 minutes smaller movies (new in and out points) that correspond to the various performances. I drag the movie windows over to the assets and rename each new movie.  I drag the movie to the timeline.  Export media. Put in the settings h264 and ntsc dv high quality preset. Put in the output name, click ok.  Adobe ME opens up but does not give me the "start queue" button.  The "add" button is there but not start and when I check explorer, the output file is not created.
Would appreciate any ideas.  Not a newbie but intermediate at best.  Thanks. Joe.  Have hardly ever been in the forum.  Sorry if have not followed protocol.  I am rushing to prepare a collage for my daughters wedding in 3 weeks.

Hi Jim,
I just opened up Encore and on my wedding that I encoded from Premiere Pro in Media Encoder then brought into Encore by going to Import ------- as Timeline ---- It says "UnTranscoded" in the Project panel where all of my other assets are.
Should that file be "Transcoded" already?
When I exported it from Premierer into Media Encoder I used H.264 Blu-Ray, PCM Audio and all I did was change the Target and Max Bit Rate settings.
Why is it not already "Transcoded" when I imported it into Encore.
Thanks

If the clips are not actually missing, you could try to refresh the timeline by using cmd-0 and then going to the timeline options tab. Then select name only where it says "thumbnail display". Press ok to accept the change, then repeat the process to add thumbnails back to your timeline.

  • Help! Exporting problem in Adobe Premiere & Media Encoder

    Hi guys,
I have a problem for which I did not find any solution on the web. I am not a very experienced Premiere Pro user. Maybe you can help me!
I made a project using Adobe Premiere Pro.
It has only one Sequence, but I have multiple clips which I want to export in that sequence as separate videos (see video 1, video 2, video 3 in the image)
The problem is that when I open Adobe Media Encoder, I open the sequence and I export all the different clips, exported videos do not keep all the Effects that I've applied to the video (contrast and brightness adjustments, other different image adjustments / effects etc).
So, I can automatically export all the videos with Media Encoder, but with no color corrections or other adjustments. When I play the Sequence in premiere it all looks good. When I export all the videos using Media Encoder, they do not have any effects applied.
If I export the sequence directly in premiere as a long video, it keeps the effects, but I get only one single video, and I need all of them exported separately.
The only way it works is making different sequence manually and exporting each one at a time. But I have 200 of them. So it will take a lifetime
I assume there is a smarter way to do it.
Did it happen to you? Is it something that I don't do right?
What should I do to keep all the Effects that I apply when exporting from Media Encoder?
Is there another method which I could use to correctly export all the 200 videos in that sequence besides doing it manually?
    Thank you!

Did you happen to select clips from the Project panel in Premiere Pro and queue to AME?  Can you export a timeline correctly (select a timeline > File menu > Export > Media > Click "Queue")?  Effects are applied only on clips in timeline and not on media clips under the Project panel.

  • Exporting widescreen DV project to Media Encoder Fails

This is my first attempt at exporting a video using CS4's media encoder, and when I try, the encoder app seems to not be able to "find" or load the Premiere CS4 sequence.  It seems to fail after a few minutes, during which the status of the job is "Waiting" and at the bottom it says "Loading xxxxx.prproj".
Any thoughts?  I'm on an i5 iMac with the CS4 Production suite installed.
    Here's the error it gives:
    - Source File: /Users/user/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/Wedding.prproj
    - Output File: /Users/user/Video/Projects/Wedding/DVD/_Wedding.mpg
    - Preset Used: Export Widescreen DVD 7Mbps CBR
    - Video:
    - Audio:
    - Bitrate:
    - Encoding Time: 00:12:19
    Sun Dec 20 15:56:11 2009 : Encoding Failed
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.

    FIXED!
Thanks to some points in this thread, I have solved my problem.
It was the KNOLL LIGHT FACTORY plug-in.  I removed it, and the Adobe Media Encoder now works on my system.  I assume that DYNAMIC LINKING between the CS4 apps also now works, but have yet to test that.
This also explains why my CS4 suite works on my MacBook Pro; I never installed KLF on my laptop.
Now I need to tell RED GIANT SOFTWARE about this problem, and either get a solution from them, or a refund.
Thanks.  You can add this solution to your collective repertoires in case a future OSX user encounters this exact problem.

  • Transcode in Media Encoder instead of Encore?

    Hi,
I know how to Encode a project right from the Premiere Pro timeline into Media Encoder, but is it possible to Transcode in Media Encoder as well?
I ask this becaause when you go and burn a Blu-Ray Disc in Encore, it has to Transcode my main timeline. If I could Transcode it in Media Encoder after I Encode it, that should save a lot of time when I go and build a Disc in Encore 5.1
    Thanks

  • I am missing the export format wmv in my media encoder

I am missing the export format wmv in my media encoder. I have cs6 web/design premium. I seems that I don't have a full version of the media encoder. But why?

WMV is part of any standard Windows install. If it doesn't show up, there is a configuration error or something is blocking the relevant components. That all there is to it - Adobe apps just use the sysstem components. There's no magic beyond that. As a start, check if the stuff shows up in Adobe Media Encoder or any other tools for that matter. Also make sure to run with sufficient user privileges so you have access to all system components. Likewise, turn off security tools that may be blocking this. also run Windows Update and/or the relevant Windows Media Player updates.

  • Export sequence for import as media source?

Im shooting hour long HDV tapes and need to work with them in FCP as hour long, uninterrupted media files. Unfortunately, there are timecode breaks and things like that that break the media apart upon import. I've reassembled the hour long footage in a sequence and would now like to export that sequence so that it is a full quality, hour long media source I can then reimport. I need the new media file to be the identical quality of the original footage and original import. How can I do this? Thank you.

Go to File->Export->QuickTime Movie. When the export window opens, click the 'Make Movie Self Contained' button. Do NOT recompress all frames. Your exported clip will be the exact same quality as your Sequence in FCP.

  • I takes 70 hours to export a sequence in Premiere Pro/ Media Encoder

    Hi,
I am having a lot of trouble with Media Encoder and Premiere Pro CS4. I'm trying to export a sequence that is only 3 minutes long and it's taking 70 hours to export- it usually taked 6 hours or just overnight to export. Below is the screen shots of the settings. Help.Thank you

Thank you for your response and help. I don't think I'm scalling up the frame rate. Attached is some screen shots of the info.  Honestly codecs are a bit confusing for me but I think the codec is H.264
What should my bitrate be? It said for maximum quality increase bitrate and honestly I'm really dissatisfied with the quality, it's a HD camera - Canon XA10 and I feel the picture quality isn't up to par with other HD footage I've seen. I'm thinking it's something I'm doing wrong in the post settings somewhere.

  • How to move a sequence, and only the media in the sequence?

I need to move a 30 min. sequence, and associated media, to work on a different, remote editing system.
I'd like to just get the media in the sequence with maybe 5 sec. handles. Every test I've run through Media Manager has copied each, complete, original media clip (not just the portion used) - many of which are over 20 minutes long - despite having only used a small portion of each clip. (So in the media manager Summary section the bar graph of "original" amount of space used, is always the same as the "modified"). In the past I think this was called "Bounce"...
    2. If I accomplish this, can I email the sequence data only, and have it link up in the original editing system, or will the media file names be so unique that the original system won't recognize them and link up.
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi -
Question 1: The obvious first question is - did you select Delete unused media from selected items?
If you did, does your media have a Reel Name associated with it?
    2) You can email the project sequence information (you will want to zip it first before sending), Then you can relink to the media as long as the media has the same names. If will be a matter of re-directing the sequence to the new directory location of the media - which you will do through the Reconnect dialog box.
But you might want to just buy an external hard disk drive, copy the media and project there and FedEx the whole thing to your collaborator.

  • For some reason, I can't compile a video or image sequence anymore with Premiere, Media Encoder, or After Effects... All CC

I have been working on a video for awhile now and I've recently noticed that my .flv export format has been removed from my choice of encoders. I export from Poser Pro Game Dev to Png Image Sequence. I organise a cam angle in After Effects...I re render out to a png image sequence.. continuing to hold quality. Then when a scene is done; I use Premiere to export a 1080 by 720 wmv format 29.97. But now I can't encode from Premere, Media Encoder, or Affter Effects. Please ...Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
I have been working on a video for awhile now and I've recently noticed that my .flv export format has been removed from my choice of encoders.
Check this for more information: removal of FLV and F4V export features from Adobe Media Encoder, After Effects, and Premiere Pro | After Effects regio…
But now I can't encode from Premiere, Media Encoder, or After Effects.
What exactly happens when you try to export?
    Thanks,

  • Error Exporting DVD Format from PP/Media Encoder

I'm trying to export a rather long project (1.5 hours).  It has several sequences grouped together on one sequence that I've labeled "all".  I'm using Media Encoder, preferences are to create a DVD file and it keeps crashing.  These are my converting settings:
    MPEG-2 DVD
    NTSC 23.97 Wide
    Quality at 75
Bit Rate at 6 using CBR (I just want to see if it works, then I'll up the quality)
When I read the error log report it mentions files that have nothing to do with that project at all.
The project I'm working on is called Yeldell Event and this is a sample error...
    - Source File: /Users/mendezw/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/Geo Interviews.prproj
    - Output File: /Volumes/VideoBackup/CHSS/Geography/Interviews/Angelica V1.mp4
    - Preset Used: Custom
    - Video: 854x480 (1.0), 23.976 fps, Progressive
    - Audio: AAC, 128 kbps, 48 kHz, Stereo
    - Bitrate: VBR, 2 pass, Target 8.00 Mbps, Max 8.00 Mbps
    - Encoding Time: 00:05:12
    11/02/2014 06:54:17 PM : Encoding Failed
The Operation was interrupted by user
The Geo Interviews.prproj and Angelica V1.mp4 are completely different files and I've never imported those files into this project.  Why is it referencing them?  There are others also that I didn't list here.  About 5 total, none of which are part of this project.
I'm using a 2013 MacBook Pro, PP CC 8.1.0  I do have a couple other programs open, like Outlook and Safari, but I'm not sure that they would cause the error.
    Please help!  Thanks!

Just out of curiosity, where are all your cache & database files "set" in the PrPro and project dialog preferences? I've found that PrPro tries to lump everything together, and unless I check where anything is set within any project/export, it can decide that a place I included in a different project for some gosh silly reason is where I still want THIS project to use for cache or whatnot. So ... at times I've gone in to check a project and found it had say decided to use the same preview and output file locations/folders from a completely different project, just dumped things in together. Very annoying. Might have some effect here. But again, might not.

  • Exporting from Prem CS6 through Media Encoder CS6 gives 'media offline' frames

    Hi
I'm having problems with Prem and Media Encoder.
If I 'queue' the output of a project and use AME, wherever there are graphics laid on top of HDV footage in a PP sequence, AME is adding a red frame that says 'media offline' in several languages. If I 'export' from PP without using AME, it renders fine.
Everything looks good in the PP sequence, all files are present and work fine, so I deduce this is an issue between PP and AME.
Is this a known problem? IS there a workaround?
This system has successfully completed other projects recently. The overlaid graphics in this case are TIFFS, would that cause a difference?
I'm a long time PP/AME user - but CS4 on PC until recently when I bought PP CS6 for Mac, running it on a maxed out iMac.
OS and Adobe are fully up to date, and have tried a restart.
    Thanks

    Bump!
    Nothing from Adobe on this?

  • Transcode in Media Encoder Straight out of Final Cut Pro. Possible?

I have a Finished Final Cut Pro Timeline shot and Edited in 1440 x 1080i HD
Is it possible to come Straight out of Final Cut Pro 7 and right into Adobe Media Encoder to Encode it as HD 1440 x 1080i?
Will my Chapter Markers go with it?
If not, What would be the best solution for this? I want to Encode it as HD 1440 x 1080i to be used in Encore to make it a Blu-Ray Disc.
    Thanks in Advance

One solution would be to export, self contained from FCP, bring into Encore and re-create your chapter markers.
Another is to export self-contained and bring into Premiere to re-create chapter markers.
You can use XML to transfer your project into Premiere
    http://forums.creativecow.net/thread/145/869656
Based on what appears to be your Creative Cow question, you simply have to correct the image width for the problem clips using the Effects Controls / Motion panel. Or importing the clips individually and re-editing into the sequence may corrrect the pixel aspect problem.

  • Timeline Won't Export Using Matrox or Adobe Media Encoder

Ok, this is a really strange problem. I made a sequence, then once I was finished editing I made a second sequence and dragged the first into it so I could easily add broadcast safe to all of my video.
The problem was that when I went to export that second sequence nothing would happen. We have a Matrox RT.X2 card and it give me the option for either Matrox Media Encoder or Adobe Media Encoder. Neither would export. When I would click the OK button nothing would happen, the options would just sit there. So, for the heck of it I went back to the original sequence, tried it, and it worked.
So then I was thinking that there was a problem because I had nested sequences (maybe Adobe doesn't do well with that). I made a 3rd sequence, copied and pasted the audio and video from the 2nd and tried again. This time it worked. I don't know what's going on with that second sequence, but this got really frustrating.
Does anyone know what would cause a sequence to suddenly stop being able to be exported?

This is a first for me. But it sounds like you got things working again.
