Unable to export to PowerPoint from Xcelsius 2008

Xcelsius 2008 does not export to Powerpoint, it doesn't do anything. I have clicked on the button to export and tried going to the File - Export to - . . . but nothing happens.
Please assist.

I've read the Xcelsius2008_release_notes_en.pdf on the installation disc. (especially when going to Adobe's articles for Flash 8 & 9) A lot of reading, most of which I do not understand but get the jest of it. I must say that I do not think that this is the 'problem' here. I do not get any 'warnings' of any kind that it cannot do that function.
At first when I tried to export from Xcelsius 2008 into Powerpoint it would not do anything as you may recall. Then when I opened up the Task Manager it started working. (NOTE: when I hover my mouse icon over the export buttons in Xcelsius usually this pops up a bubble stating 'what' it would do if I click on the button. There are only two buttons where something displays when I hover my mouse and those are "Export to Outlook and Export to Business Objects Platform". None of the other buttons seem to have this bubble.
Now I am trying to export to Powerpoint again with another file and it opens Powerpoint but the screen is blank and there is no view slideshow option. It will however let me export to just a plain 'swf' format. Which is not acceptable for our purposes. My boss said I should UNINSTALL Xcelsius 2008 and REinstall it again.
Any solutions or ideas???????

Every time I create a PP from XCelsius 2008 (SP1,FP2) I get a message when closing PowerPoint;
This Program requires a missing Windows content, check for ......."
Even if I follow the instructions to check for the missing thing I can not figure out what it is that I miss.
I also want to know why I get a blank screen when creating a PP file from xcelsius. When using presentation mode the flash file appears correctly.
Please help[ me!!

The issue:
dashboards developed with XCelsius 2008 on a wide screen display hypertext correctly on a wide-screen display. However if the flash file is displayed on a regular (non-wide-screen) display the right most part of all hyper-text is displayed at the border line of a regular screen. This results in displaying the right data at a wrong position on a screen.
It is easy to create this situation:
Just display a dashboard in a reduced window and you will see that the label display changes positions on the right side of the screnn.

Strange that your dealer could not help.
When my car was in for its 6 month service in July/August I mentioned this problem to the dealer service dept (Northway Honda, Bundoora, Vic)
The person booking the car in told me an update to the software was needed and that they would do the update.
I don't know if it was free as there was no specific listing of a software update on the invoice - just a lot of item numbers.

Hi,
You cannot call out to command-line from a Flash SWF, it is sandboxed so does not know how to do any of that.
One (complicated) option would be to write your own app to embed the SWF into, a real app can then call out to do whatever you want, then you just have to get the SWF to communicate with your app using External Interface, it would be a lot of work.

I'm unable to export any slideshow from Iphoto 9.5.1?

After creating a slide show in the latest version of IPhoto with music attached, i am unable to export the slideshow as standard definition or high definition. The export progress bar pops up with a black screen but never moves or creates the show? Anyone have any ideas? I am on a Mac Pro on OS X 10.9.3.

Some folks have fixed this by reinstalling iPhoto:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Downgrade from Xcelsius 2008 SP2 to SP1

We are facing some problems with Xcelsius 2008 SP2 .So thought of downgrading it from SP2 to SP1 again.
Please let me know where to do this downgrading alone ....without losing Xcelsius 2008 SP1
Also please let us know if there are any thing that needs to be kept in mind during this downgrade process...

I believe downgrading is not possible.

Unable to export all columns from sharepoint 2010 survey

Have a user that cannot export all columns from a sharepoint survey. When exported, he only gets 3 columns. We've tried a number of things, including exporting from the overview view. We've also made sure that readers had full edit rights, etc. Just for
background, this survey does contain branching logic. Any ideas?

As I'm lucky to have Reporting Services in SharePoint mode, I've been using it to export Survey data, pre-process it, and export it to Excel or PDF.

Unable to export to pdf from crviewer

I have a code scripted in visual basic 2008 (sP1) where a report gets loaded and displayed in the the crystal viewer. My report display's in the cRViewer, however when i try to export the report to a pdf i got the following error message:

Looks like you are using .NET 2008 with CR XI release 1 (11.0). CR XI release 1 is not supported with .NET 2008, only CR 10.5 (Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008) and CR 2008 (12.x with SP 1) work and are supported in .NET 2008. Exporting to Powerpoint from Acrobat XI Pro

Acrobat XI Pro - How do you keep the original fonts when exporting to editable Word or Powerpoint? Trouble with Symbol and Helvetica; these get changed to Arial.

Excuse me. Helvetica started out as PC font and was not originally on Mac when they first came (around 1985) ( I bough one in 86 and there was no helvetica to be seen anywhere on a Mac) out there was vaiation on it called Arial. Actaully, fonts available on Mac at that time mostly had names that were named after cities. One I remember was called Chicago, another New York. Then about 1990 they licensed some fonts from a then little known font house called adobe. Since Helvetica was actually registered with Microsoft they wouldn't allow Apple use. (That was the period when Bill gates was doing everything in his power to kill Apple). So Apple came up with a variation called Ariel. When it was found out Arial actually looked better than helvetica and still does, MS and Apple decided to cross license Arial and Helvetica. I've had Mac's since 1986 and worked on PC even before that. So this is one subject I am sure about.

Unable to export certain files from a collection

Hi,
I made a collection from certain picks from 3 other collections. As the 3 other collections were a mixed bag of images I wanted to put together for one show.
- the collection that I made, consisting of images from the other collections, will not allow me to export all of the files into a folder on my desktop as the error reads that the original file cannot be found and gives a previous location for it, which happens to be on my desktop.
I really need to get this sorted out, can anyone offer up any help! =)

So, on my last attempt to export I was told that 29 images of the 204 I have in this particular collection could not be exported. I have them on screen as I was asked if I wanted to "show in library". now that I seem to have them. how to relocate them back to wherever they need to be for me to export them.
I have folder named desktop and it doesnt contain any of the related photos....

When I try to export a dashboard(its bit big and complex with Live Office connections) to BOE, Iu2019m getting the following error :

Unable to clone hard drive from early 2008 macbook using disk utility, error 254

Attempting to upgrade my early 2008 Macbook hardrive, currently 160gb to a 250gb drive. Using Mac Disk Utility to restore from drive in computer to the 250 gb drive currently attached via usb. Receiving error, Could not validate source, error 254. I know this process works as I recently upgraded our MacbookPro to 1 TB. The 250gb drive I am attempting to clone to is from that computer. I have formated the 250gb drive, mac osx extended journaled, guid. Not sure how to proceed. Suggestions?

To transfer your current hard drive I like the free application Carbon Copy Cloner. It makes a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive http://www.bombich.com/index.html You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

Unable to export to excel from ALV

Normally we dont have to write any code for getting data in ALV's Excel inplace View. It is taken by SAP itself.
Any way waht we can try is just comment
   <b>it_events = gt_events[]</b>
and test whether the data is getting populated in excel..

Unable to export to excel from FDM

Hi,
I have installed and configured FDM 9.3.1. I have HFM and SmartView also installed on the same server. And when I try to export control tables to excel it launches a new page and then the page keeps showing processing.
There is another environment where I have a similar setup i.e HFM, FDM and smartview on one server. But there it works perfectly.
Can someone help?

While Smartview can be installed on the FDM server, it must be disabled for the service account under which FDM runs.
The account that runs FDM can be found by opening Load Balance Manager. The user name is the service account.
To disable smartview, login to the server with this ID and click Hyperion > About. Uncheck the Enable Add-in check box. Click Ok. Click File > Exit.

Unable to export v-card from Address Book

After installation of OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this issue? Thanks.

click on gear wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file'
locate the file you downloaded and click on Open
You will need to restart Thunderbird at prompt.
In 'Address Book'
right click on contact in list and select 'Send as vcard'.
If you want to add more than one vcard:
Press Ctrl key and select contacts to highlight, then right click on highlighted contacts and select Send as vcard'.
This opens a new Write message with that contact(s) added as vcard attachment(s).
There is also the option from the 'Contacts Sidebar' in a new Write window, but I'm not having any success from this method at this moment...maybe it will work for others...perhaps due to a bug, but I've reported it the author. At least it still works via Address Book.
