Unable to FaceTime!

I just downloaded the FaceTime for Mac app from the App Store and here is the issue...
FaceTime works fine for my iPod Touch, but when I am on my Mac, I connect, I see and hear the other person, but the other person who I am talking to cannot see me or hear me. Even though my iSight camera is on, along with my network being firewall free (basically)
Any Suggestions?

(1) *If you are using the same account info for both your iPod and your Mac*, set your iPod's Settings > FaceTime to "OFF" (or completely power down the iPod.) Then restart your Mac and try FaceTime from your Mac to someone else. You should test FaceTime with more than one other person.
(2) *If you have different caller iD email addresses on your iPod and your iMac*, you should be able to test between iPod and Mac. Test FaceTime with other FaceTime users from both devices, too.
(3) *If your iPod can connect with other FaceTime users but your Mac cannot*, restart your Mac, then use your Mac's Disk Utility to repair permissions on the Mac before you test again. If that does not help, reinstall FaceTime for Mac, repair permissions again, and test FaceTime again.

  • Unable to FaceTime with wife

    Hi
I am in the uk. Me and my wife have iPhone 4. When my wife tries to FaceTime at home with me. It says unable to connect or unable to FaceTime with me for some reason. I am able to FaceTime with other people. And I am able to call my wife on FaceTime. Done FaceTime using same wifi connection in the house. What can be going wrong. At first my wife facetime option said waiting for activation on her iPhone in the phone menu. So I did a soft reboot holding power button and home together til I get apple logo to fix this but I don't know what can be stopping my wife facetime with me. Can anyone help. She has tried to FaceTime other people but they did not have there iPhone with them. I mean it does not even attempt to connect and make that beeping sound on my iPhone. FaceTime just cuts out with my wife when she tries me for some reason.

    (1) If you can contact others, but your wife cannot contact anyone, the problem must be at her end.
She can go to a different location and try to see if the problem is with the wi-fi at her usual location. If she can connect FaceTime from other locations but not from where she is trying to call you from now, she will need to troubleshoot her wireless access.
    (2) If she cannot FaceTime with anyone regardless of which wi-fi hot spot she tries, perhaps she has not configured her FaceTime or Settings correctly.
    (3) She may find help for either problems in this article:

  • Unable to FaceTime Mac to Mac

My friend and I have been trying to connect via FaceTime between our Macbook Pros. We both also have iPhones. When I try calling from my Mac, the call only gets sent to his iPhone, but not his Macbook Pro. When I try calling from my iPhone, the call only gets sent to his Macbook Pro and not his iPhone. The exact same happens when he tries to call me. We've also tried calling from different numbers and email addresses with no luck. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, PLEASE let me know how I can fix it. It's very inconvenient not being able to talk from two of the same devices.
    Thanks in advance.

  • TS3367 My iMac has facetime version 1.0.3, yet it's 1.0.2 in the app store.

My iMac has facetime version 1.0.3, yet it's 1.0.2 in the app store.  And I seem to be unable to facetime anyone as the connection always fails.  Any suggestions?  This question has been asked a few times but there have been no suggested fixes for it.  :-\
Had to add this to the iPhone group as there is no option to choose iMac, sorry. :-(

Well, this is iPhone forum, you'll get faster answer if you post in the right forum.

  • TS4185 Trouble using FaceTime between a new MacBook Pro 13" and iPad2.

I recently upgaded my daughter's 2008 MacBook to a new 13" MacBook Pro.
Since the upgrade we are unable to FaceTime from her new MacBook Pro to my iPad2. Calls start OK but then after a few seconds video freezes at the iPad end and then goes black. Audio continues in both directions and video from iPad2 to the MacBook Pro is OK.
This didn't happen with the old MacBook and nothing else has changed. I can receive FaceTime calls from the MacBook Pro on my iPhone 4S in the same location where the iPad2 will not work.
I think the problem is the higher video resolution from the MacBook Pro. I have 100Mbps broadband, iPad2 shows over 35Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload on Speedtest.net. I have tried resetting the iPad2 a number of times with no effect.
    - Is it possible to lower the resolution beng sent from the MacBook Pro ?
    - Any other ideas ?

If your computer meets these requirements, you will be all set.

    I hope this helps.

  • I can't make FaceTime (Version 1.1.1 (309)) calls out from my Macbook Pro (Version 10.7.5). Anybody experiencing the same problems or any solutions??

I've been trying to make calls to other FaceTime users (on iPhones and Macs) via my Macbook Pro.
On my side FaceTime continues ringing. However, on the other side, when the person has picked up the call, FaceTime would show 'connecting' for around a minute or so and then 'connection lost'. Meanwhile, FaceTime would still continue ringing and would only show 'unable to facetime' after 2 minutes or more.
My FaceTime version is Version 1.1.1 (309).
    Macbook Pro 10.7.5
Wondering if anyone has the same issues.
Or does anyone have the solutions??

Yes. I'm having the same problem with the same FaceTime version and Macbook Pro OS10.7.5 as well as the iPod Touch 4th generation.
Another thing is that since updating the OS, Skype on Facebook does not receive the image without freezing or having blinking horizontal lines running through it.

  • Motorola v262 connection lost

The v262 is essentially the same as the v265 but does not have the camera. I have done a modification to the plist file here http://www.lowendmac.com/macdan/05/0801.html to duplicate the v265 profile and change it to v262. iSync sees my phone. However, when I go press Sync in iSync, I get the following error:
The connection was lost while getting the changes from the device.
    Device "V262" synchronization failed
I've read through various forums on the web and here at Apple and I have been unable to fix my problem.
My service provider is Telus, and I am using a Motorola SKN6311C cable
    Thanks,
