  • ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "FLOW_SESSION" in application

    Hi,
    I installed the Tracking Issue application.
    It was working fine until I ugraded HTMLDB (latest patch).
    If I access it with another browser without going into htmldb development tool , it works fine.
    If I clic the RUN in HTMLDB development tool and login with a valid htmldb user I now get :
    ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "FLOW_SESSION" in application "11964
    thanks
    Francis.

    Thanks Scott,
    It works .
    I find it is sometimes difficult to search in the OTN forum.
    Is there a trick to be able to search on multiple words ?
    Also, the results shows the same page occurence multiple times. It would be nice if it could only show it once .
    (This forum should be done in HTMLDB ;) )
    Thanks again.

  • ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "F145_QUERY" in application "4000"

    Hi all,
    First I will give you an overview:
    APEX version: 3.2.1.00.10
    DB Version: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0
    Now the problem description:
    I have a report region of type: Function body returning sql_query.
    After the sql_query is written into a variable, I would like to fill an application_item or page_item. The problem is, it is returning the error:
    ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "F145_QUERY" in application "4000"
    After that I tried to create a stored function (return varchar2, because a sql_query is generated) which has got the same structure. Also I am trying to fill the session state of the application item.
    Then I am just having the following code in my report region:
    declare
    q varchar2(30000);
    begin
    q := function_name;
    return q;
    end;
    Funciton example:
    create function simple_example return varchar2 is
    q varchar2(30000);
    begin
    q := 'select sysdate from dual';
    apex_util.set_session_state('F145_QUERY', q);
    return q;
    end;
    But even then I am getting the error.
    Is it a bug? And how can I solve the problem?
    Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
    Denise

    Hi Scott,
    most of the time the obvious solution is the best, I agree.
    But I have checked that one, before I posted the thread ;-)
    And yes, the error message really says Application 4000. That is, why I am so confused, cause I know that that is the APEX itself.
    The actual code is written within the report region. As I said, I tried 2 versions.
    The second version is explained above and the first version was the code within the report region:
    declare
    q varchar2(30000);
    begin
    q := 'select sysdate from dual';
    :F145_QUERY := q;
    return q;
    end;
    The report region is a normal report with source_type = Function_returning_sql_query.
    That is all I know, and now I hoping to find someone who has got an explanation or a even a solution for this. :-)
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Denise

  • Error ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "ID" in application

    Hi everyone,
    I'm new to APEX and I've come across this error for the first time. I have a page with a classic report in it, and I want to create a link from one of the columns in the report (ID column) to another page with a classic report in it. So when I click on, say, ID 118, I want to be sent to the other page and to only see the information for ID 118.
    After creating the column link I receive the error message when I run the application:
    Error      ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "ID" in application
    I've tried creating a link from one report to another before and it worked fine.
    Thank you!
    P.S. I'm using APEX 3.2

    So, on page 1 I have some columns from a table (ID, name etc) and I want to link the values in the ID column to a report on page 2, so that the columns in page 2 (order no, type etc) show only the information for the ID I clicked on in page 1. I went to Page Definition -> Regions -> Report link -> click on the "edit" icon on the left of column "ID" and in the Column Link section I have the following:
    Link text: #ID#
    Link Attributes: title="Click to see deal information."
    Target: Page in this application
    Page: 2
    Clear Cache: CIR,2
    Item 1:
         Name: ID
         Value: #ID#
    I have no item called ID on page 2.
    Thank you!

  • Unable to find selection field "object type" in IP19

    Hi there,
    Is there any way to add the equipment "Object Type" into standard report IP19 as i couldn't find the selection field in the report.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.

    Calyn Kua,
    Here's a work-around:
    Go to IP19 and press Multiple Selection button on the Equipment field
    In the next popup select the Multiple Selection button again
    Select the search-help for Equipment by equipment list
    In the next selection screen enter your data including the Technical obj type data and execute the report
    Select the equipment in the list as required and select the lower green tick. This should return your equipment numbers back into the IP19 equipment field
    Choose the With object list checkbox if required
    Execute the IP19 report
    Alternatively you can copy the IP19 report and add your own customer-specific fields/logic.

  • Unable to find failure/crash root cause of my application.

    Hello to everyone,
    I will try to keep this as short and as detailed as possible.
    I recently had to modify (ER) our home made application developed with JDevelopper 10.1.3.3.0 and hosted on a Oracle Application Server 10g (OC4J) hosting several other working apps.
    A quick explanation of what the program does is necessary to understand the context of my issue.
    The application helps another service of the company create cost estimations for their project.
    A project is defined with a number of codes (following a complex logic) and can vary from 40ish codes for smaller projects to 1400ish for larger projects. A code is simply a way to label a material or resource needed for the project, codes are attached to a number of things but essentially to a cost for the project. Project and code data is stored in a pl/sql database.
    Users can view these codes on jspx pages (by project) from their browsers. There are 2 parts to the ER I had to develop for users, the first one being, the implementation of a feature that allows users to generate excel spreadsheets (thanks to the help of the Apache POI library) listing all project codes for a given project in the same column.
    The purpose of this spreadsheet is to allow users to put several costs for one code in the following columns. In example, cell A1 contains code xxx-xxxx-xxx-001; users may put in cells A2, A3 and A4 cost values 500,600,700 which in return will later be stored in the database against the code to keep track of them. However, each code cost has to be stored individually on one record for several reasons (which I will not explain here), thus a maximum of x * y records can be inserted for one project at a time, where x is the total number of codes and y the total number of costs associated with one code.
    So say a project has 40 codes and 10 costs per code, 400 records will be inserted into the table (small projects), for larger projects though, 1200 codes * 8 costs/code can amount up to 9600 records and so on.
    The 2nd part of the ER is to read from those very same spreadsheets, using an af:inputFile object in a jspx page. Whenever users specify a file path and then click on the import button of the af:inputFile object, the ValueChangeListener method attached to this adf object is called. The method primarily does some validation, i.e.: verifies duplicate code names and proposes new ones to push to the database (without modifying the excel spreadsheet). Additionally the method needs to push the data to a temporary table before it can be finally be inserted in the final table.
    As I wasn't very familiar with JDeveloper, I was advised to use the mvc elements of the framework to do this, and thus I got familiar with the concept of entity object -> view object -> view link (which wasn't needed in this case). And so, I inserted an af:table object on the page created off of my viewobject, which is merely a representation of the necessary columns of the temporary table to complete the first upload. This is very convenient because once the method pushes data into the table i can use the default methods listed/created in the bindings section of my page definition to push the data for me into the database.
    At this point the code looks like this when it needs to insert data into the temporary table (referred to as interface table), note that other data on the spreadsheet in uploaded as well:
        public void fillInterfaceTable(){
            ApplicationModule am = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
            DBTransaction tx = (DBTransaction)am.getTransaction();
            if(transposedArr != null && !(transposedArr.isEmpty())){
                DCIteratorBinding dcib = (DCIteratorBinding)bindings.get("BudgetIntListIterator");
                ViewObject vo =  dcib.getViewObject();
                vo.executeQuery();
                if(vo != null){
                    for (int i = 0; i < transposedArr.size(); i++)
                        JUCtrlActionBinding actionBinding =
                            (JUCtrlActionBinding)bindings.get("CreateInsert");
                        actionBinding.execute();
                        //LEAVE LOCAL IMPORT !
                        oracle.jbo.Row newRow = vo.getCurrentRow();
                        newRow.setAttribute(ImgcceBudgetIntListRowImpl.PROJECTID, sessionBean.getProjectId());
                        //refer to transposeData methodjust above to understand hardcoded index values
                        newRow.setAttribute(ImgcceBudgetIntListRowImpl.COSTNAME, transposedArr.get(i).get(0));
                        newRow.setAttribute(ImgcceBudgetIntListRowImpl.PERIODNAME, transposedArr.get(i).get(1));
                        newRow.setAttribute(ImgcceBudgetIntListRowImpl.RAWCOST, transposedArr.get(i).get(2));
                        newRow.setAttribute(ImgcceBudgetIntListRowImpl.COSTINDEX, transposedArr.get(i).get(3));
                        newRow.setAttribute(ImgcceBudgetIntListRowImpl.IMPORTSTATUS, "READY");
                    JUCtrlActionBinding actionBinding = (JUCtrlActionBinding)bindings.get("Commit");
                    actionBinding.execute();
                    am.getTransaction().clearEntityCache(null);
                    vo.clearCache();
                    GLOBAL_VALIDATION_PASSED = true;
            tx.closeTransaction();
            Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(am, true);
        }It is important to note that even though the data is inserted into the af:table, the table is not rendered on the page. It is invisible to the users (I figured it might take too much time to display and/or cause the page to crash with 9K more lines to display).
    I tested my code locally with the default embedded OC4J server before deploying it to my OAS server. Locally, processing can take a bit of time before it is first uploaded to the interface table BUT always ends up completing successfully no matter how many records need to be created for ANY project.
    My issue is when I test the application once deployed onto the server, executing the very same task for any project. Whenever I try to upload records to the database for say, small projects (400 records), everything works fine, however for much larger projects (I don't have an exact threshold yet), say 1000 records +, the page attempts processing but then throws on the page the following error:
    500 Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
    More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
    Oracle-Application-Server-10g/10.1.3.4.0 Oracle-HTTP-Server Server at TESTSRV.company.com Port 7778
    The whole application crashes as well as the OAS app. I must then wait for the OAS to restart and may then enter the application again.
    As the error isn't very explicit, i went to check the logs of course. First i checked the OC4J server logs since I thought it might be related to the server, but it turns out the log doesn't display anything related to that. So then, I went to check the application log. The log lists a couple of errors (thrown Exceptions):

The application crashes right when i click on the import button, which has the above mentioned method attached to it as an Action. How can it be so if the only commit done at this point is the one from the method above ?
    I thought it might have something to do with page submission as well, so i made sure to verify no page elements had submitFile() javascript actions or anything alike and tested again. I also made sure to remove any PartialTrigger, anything that would cause the page to refresh/partially refresh was removed. Same scenario, works fine locally but not on the server (for that very task).
    Also because of the threshold issue explained earlier, I think it may be an issue related to size. The application doesn't seem to be able to handle that many records when it's hosted on the OAS, whereas locally there doesn't seem to be any issue.
    I also monitored the server while I was running the program and when it crashed. All resources (CPU/swap) are fine [hosted on a red hat server] so i don't think it has to do with that directly.
    At this point, since I tried to troubleshoot this problem for quite sometime now, I am thinking of bypassing the use of the table to push my data in and do it manually by opening a connection to the database every time. (Which would be a terrible alternative).
    Any ideas of where else to look at ?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Also, though I read the "before posting" article, let me know if there isn't enough information.

    Hi,
    Thank you for the reply. Your observations are correct, i will consider this. However, even though I am creating an extra connection to the DB and work directly with the viewobject, i don't see how this could cause such an error ("Response already submitted"). Especially since my latest workaround works fine with the same variables/external connections (instead of using the view object i communicate directly with the DB). My workaround and past issues with the size lead me to think there might be a cap of insertable records in ADF table objects.

    If I try to limit the data warehouse records to a smaller number (about 0.5M), it seems to work fine.
    Or if I change the Cache type to "In-Memory" in the data transform, it works fine for all the 1.8M records.
    My problem is that I am not able to understand the above error the way I can change things to correct it. Running In-Memory all the time is not good for us as there may be more then one process running at same time in production.

    Hello Gaurav,
    This internal error seem like will require detail investigation. I would recommend filing a customer support request and we will take it from there.

  • Guided Procedures - Runtime "Create Time-off Request"

    Hi Everyone,
    I’ve created a Time-Off Process using the tutorial downloaded from SDN site.
    When I try to start the Runtime project (Employee side) I find the “Processors Table” in "Create Time-off Request" screen.
    The Approver name is not correct… is not what I expected!
    1) How can I change (in the Design Time project/area) the Approver and HR Consultant parameters?
    2) How can I hide (in the Runtime area) the “Processors Table”?
    Furthermore, I would like to have more information about the “Parameters Consolidation” meaning. Could you help me to catch this meaning?
    Thanks in advance,
    Enrico

    Hi David,
    thanks for you useful answer! You gave me an answer of 80%!
    Now I try to explain you my problem for the other 20%!
    Now, ... I can't modify the Time-Off exemple, right?! But I would just like to start from this example and modify it!!!
    Can I do it starting from the project code?!
    Can I see the code lines which describe the Time-Off behaviour, so that I can customize it???? ... enfact, if I could do it, I wouldn't have to rewrite the whole code, and I also could understand the logic of TimeOff project structure.
    Do you understand me? Was I clear?

  • BUG? "ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID..." on branch on upgrading 3.0 to 4.0

    I'm testing the waters prior to upgrading a customer application from APEX 3.0.0.00.20 to 4.0.2.00.07.
    The application has been exported from the APEX 3.0 environment on a 4.0 instance on a different server. Both databases are 10.2.0.4.0 EE.
    A on navigating&mdash;via a standard tab&mdash;to a page containing only conditional On Load: Before Header branches, the branches are failing with
    Unexpected error, unable to find item name at application or page level.
    Error: ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "p810_status" in application "121". This is caused by the branch action having Set these items item names specified in lower case:
    p810_status,p810_read_onlyThe error is resolved by changing these item names to UPPER CASE.
    This is not a disaster. Using APEX views I can see that there are only a handful of branches specifying item names in lower case so it won't require major effort to fix this app when it's upgraded for real.
    However, (a) I am aware that there are other places in this app where item names are specified in lower case; and (b) I tend to type most of my development stuff in lower case, so I'd like clarification on this issue.
    <li>Is this a known issue? (Can't find any earlier mention of this on OTN, MOS or web)
    <li>Is this expected behaviour in APEX 4.x or a bug?
    <li>If a bug is it fixed in 4.1?
    <li>Is there a change in APEX 4.0 requiring branch item (and other?) references to be uppercase? If so, where is this documented?
    I notice that it works OK when the same item values are specified in the URL using lowercase item names.

    I noticed that APEX 4.0.2 has converted all branches to use the [now] late, lamented "Set value before branching" option. Is this significant? Obviously this won't occur if upgrading to 4.1.

    Hi Lukx,
    Thank you for reporting this. You have hit upon an issue with this page, for which I have filed Oracle bug #11840642. To get around this in the meantime, you can see page specific changes by going to:
    1) The 'Page Definition' page for the page you want to see recent edits.
    2) Go to 'Utilities > History'. This will show you recent actions for components on the current page.
    Hope that helps and thanks again for catching this.
    Regards,
    Anthony.

  • ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID

    Hi. can any one help me to resolve this issue
    ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "P801_LISTP801_NG_PO_NUMBER" in application "1000300".
    Unexpected error, unable to find item name at application or page level.

    Hi,
    That does not look like an Oracle error message (They usually start with ORA-)
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14219/toc.htm
    Perhaps someone coded that inside some application?
    Anyway, if you believe it to be an Oracle exception should write just a little about the situation causing this, along with a stack trace.
    Regards
    Peter

  • ERR-1002:unable to find item id for item page_id in  applicattion 103

    Hi all,
    I am a newbie to htmldb with ajax.
    My problem is this..
    when my javscript calls an on demand process like
    ------ var get = new htmldb_Get(null,document.getElementById('pFlowId').value,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=pull_contents',0);
    -------var id_value = get_check_box_value(document.wwv_flow.f01);
    -------get.add('page_id',id_value);
    --------var greturn =get.get(null);
    process-PULL_CONTENTS
    declare
    begin
    owa_util.mime_header('text/xml', FALSE );
    htp.p('Cache-Control: no-cache');
    htp.p('Pragma: no-cache');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
    for rec in(select blob_content as "contents" from obe.file_subjects where id =12)
    loop
    htp.prn(rec.contents);
    end loop;
    end;
    i get an error in the return text like
    ERR-1002:unable to find item id FOR ITEM "PAGE_ID" IN application 103
    what can be the problem?

    Hello,
    Your going to have to reproduce it on htmldb.oracle.com, it will be much easier to help you out.
    The htmldb_Get() 'is included' on every page by default unless you've done something like comment out the header section of your page template. Look at your page source you should see something like
    &lt;script src="/i/javascript/htmldb_html_elements.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    &lt;script src="/i/javascript/htmldb_get.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    in the header section.
    Make sure you page template has the #HEAD# substituion tag.

  • ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "SESSION"

    Hi All,
    We have recently ugpraded from Aoex 3.1 to 3.2 and have now noticed on occasions that i get the following error when logging in...
    Unexpected error, unable to find item name at application or page level.
    ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item "SESSION" in application "2500".
    Return to application.I have been making changes to the application but have not changed anything to do with the SESSION item, i thought that was built into APEX so am not sure why it cannot find it.
    The error mainly happens if i clear the internet cache and try logging in again on a new session, i click Return to Application and try logging in again but get the error. If i login as a different user it logs in.
    Has this happened to anyone else?
    Thanks
    Graham

    Scott,
    Sorry, typing error, i meant 3.0 to 3.1.
    when a user clicks login the following happens...
    A Validation runs to determine if the username and pasword is right and if the user has parts to be accepted when logging in....
    DECLARE
      V_User_Check     VARCHAR2(800);
    BEGIN
        V_User_Check := M_USERS_VALIDATE_LOGIN(
           :P101_USERNAME, :P101_PASSWORD, :SESSION, :P101_BENCH, :P101_BENCH_ID);
        IF V_User_Check = 'PASSWORD_CHANGE' THEN
          :P101_PASSWORD_CHANGE := 'YES';
          RETURN 'You password must be changed for security purposes.  ' ||
                 'Please enter and retype a new password, then confirm the ' ||
                 'change by entering your existing password.';
        ELSIF V_User_Check = 'INVALID_USERNAME' THEN
          RETURN 'The username has not been recognised, please re-enter.';
        ELSIF V_User_Check = 'INVALID_PASSWORD' THEN
          RETURN 'The password entered is invalid, please re-enter.';
        ELSIF V_User_Check = 'ACCEPT_PARTS' THEN
          :P101_PARTS_TO_ACCEPT := 'YES';
          RETURN 'There are parts at this bench that need to be accepted/rejected for you to use, please check the quantities carefully.';
        ELSIF V_User_Check = 'OK' THEN
          RETURN '';
        ELSE
          RETURN V_User_Check;
        END IF;
    END;The following function is called from the Authentication Scheme (return authenticate_m_user;)
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION authenticate_m_user(p_username IN VARCHAR2, p_password IN VARCHAR2)RETURN BOOLEAN IS
      CURSOR m_cur( username_p VARCHAR,password_p VARCHAR) IS
        SELECT COUNT(*) user_count FROM m_users
        WHERE UPPER(username) = username_p
        AND PASSWORD = password_p AND in_use = 'Y';
      result_v                BOOLEAN := FALSE;
      V_Admin                 VARCHAR2(1) :=  'N';
    BEGIN
      FOR m_rec IN m_cur(p_username, dbms_obfuscation_toolkit.md5( input_string => p_password))
      LOOP
        IF m_rec.user_count = 1 THEN
          result_v    := TRUE;
        END IF;
      END LOOP;
      IF result_v = TRUE THEN
          UPDATE m_users
            SET logged_in = 'Y', last_login_date = sysdate
            WHERE upper(username) = upper(p_username);
          COMMIT;
      END IF;
      RETURN result_v;
    END authenticate_m_user;Also when i encounter the error if i keep clicking Login it keeps throwing the error, but if i turn on debug and then click login again it logs in ok.
    Hope this helps.
