Unable to find notes synced from iPhone in Mail

Notes from my iPhone seem to sync to my IMac, but they don't show up in Notes under Reminders in the sidebar in Mail.app. The notes I entered in Mail.app are there. The iPhone notes, no.
I asked in the iPhone discussion and was told I should see a flippy triangle next to Notes in the Mail.app sidebar. I don't. Should I? Should it have subheads for "On My Mac" and "MobileMe"? They're not there. How can I get them to appear? Would doing so help me see synced notes from iPhone?
I believe the syncing of notes from iPhone is actually happening, because when I dock the iPhone I see a warning on the iMac that I am about to change more than 5% of the notes on the iMac. I tell it OK and see a progress bar in iTunes telling me Notes are being synced. But I can't see the newly synced notes in Mail.app. Help. Thanks.

OK, I think I figured out what to do to get all my Notes to sync between my iPhone and my iMac (including to/from MobileMe).
If you have a like problem in syncing Notes (or any other item that you intend to sync), the main thing is to read and follow the instructions in
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627
which is called "Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: Resetting the SyncServices folder." (This is the first hit you see in Google for "reset mac sync services.")
If you, like me, are running Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard on your Mac, the key thing is to:
1. Open iSync.
2. Choose Preferences from the iSync menu.
3. Click Reset Sync History.
There are different instructions for Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.
I didn't actually have to re-enable my iPhone's sync settings in iTunes or the sync settings under MobileMe in Preferences. Both sets of sync preferences were the same as before. But when I went ahead and synced my iPhone, and again when I synced MobileMe, I got a number of warning messages on my iMac screen telling me I had to decide whether to Merge the notes from each of devices or sources ... which I in fact did. (I also got some warnings indicating that whatever was doing the merging needed access to my Keychain, which I always allowed.)
After all was said and done, I had a fully merged set of all my Notes in Mail.app on the iMac and also in Notes on the iPhone (and, I believe, in MobileMe).
I don't yet know whether there were any unwanted side effects to all this. However, it seems likely that using this procedure could produce ugly side effects under some circumstances, especially if you make any mistakes such as not allowing the various sources of notes to be Merged into one big batch. Be careful ...

  • Where do I find notes synced from my iPod to Mac ?

Where do I find notes synced from my iPod to Mac ?
I sync via iCloud, everything is up to date except I am running OS X Maverick, I have checked in Mail in my iCloud account: nothing there / checked in the Notes application on the Mac: nothing there. Notes are syncing in the iCloud system preference panel but are nowhere to be found...

Photos in the iPhone's Camera Roll are not included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with the iPhone's backup which is updated at the first step during the iTunes sync process if the iPhone was being backed up with iTunes on your computer.
Photos/videos in the iPhone's Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera which is not handled by iTunes.

  • New voice memos not syncing from iphone to itunes

My voice memos are not syncing from my iPhone4 to iTunes.  Everything has been restarted.  Everything is up-to-date.  The voice memo box is checked.  What is going on?  Thanks.

    Hey Colonel,
I read this on another thread then confirmed it when I bought an App on my iPhone then did a sync. At first, it appeared that the App was being copied to the iTunes library, but when I checked under Applications, it was not there.
So I went to the File menu, and selected Transfer Purchases from iPhone. It again showed that it was copying to iTunes, and this time it really did.
Not sure why it's not automatic, but it's a minor extra step.

  • Photos will not sync from iphone to pc!

Hi I have the 3GS and when I plug it into my pc, both vista and xp, it does not sync my photos. With my 3G it will auto sync and download any new pics I have taken, but not with the 3GS. When I unplug it it says new camera found, even though its unpluged? PLEASE HELP.

When there are photos in your iPhone's camera roll, your iPhone is also detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer, or should be. Photos in your iPhone's camera roll are imported as with any other digital camera, not synced.
XP includes a camera and scanner wizard and Vista should include the same or similar for importing photos from a digital camera including from the iPhone's camera roll.

  • Calendar will not sync from iphone to ical since 10.5.2 update

My iphone has worked perfectly since I bought it last summer & I have been raving about it!
I updated to 10.5.2 and now I am having a syncing problem.
If I put an appointment in the iphone it will not sync to ical, but it does sync from ical to the iphone.
This is all new since 10.5.2.
Are there some simple steps to follow to resolve this issue?

    1. got the back up done. After I answer your couple of quesitons, i will do the reset.
    2. I am responding to you using my .mac account, which, as you know, is IMAP.
    3. In addition, I do have a POP ( Yahoo) account that I use a great deal. I use the Mac Mail application to grab the Yahoo e mails for me, as I thought that would be the easiest set up. ( Just launch Mail and every e mail is available for viewing). I suspect you are going to advise me to take the steps to turn my POP Yahoo into an IMAP Yahoo???.
    4. So I think I may have answered you question about accessing this account with an email client, right? I am using Mail.
    5. Thanks for the thought on the incoming e mail server. Good to know.
    6. My Mac account settings for removing messages from the server when downloaded by the email client ( Mail?) are: (1) for the Yahoo - I looked under Accounts/Advanced. And, if that is the right place, hopefully, I have set it to remove copy from server after retrieving a message after 1 month. ( just being careful). (2) I do not see choices for my .mac IMAP account, except under Trash, and for that I have also chosen 1 month before permanently removing.
How'd I do?? I want to answer your questions as specifically and succinctly as possible. Your assistance is much appreciated.

  • Where do notes sync from iPhone 4 to osx lion?

When I sync/back-up my iphone 4, where do the notes go on my Mac OSX Lion?

I am running iPhone iOS 5.1.1, iTunes 10.6.3 and OS X 10.7.4. I saw a similar procedure to what I am about to describe, in someone else's post, but I had some exceptions. In order to see all the notes I had created on my iPhone, in OS X Mail, I had to:
    1. Check "Sync Notes" in iTunes. (Choose my iPhone in the DEVICES section of the left pane. Choose Info section at the top of the main pane. Scroll down to Other section in the main pane.)
    2. Click Sync in iTunes. (In the bottom pane where it shows Capacity, Audio, Photos, Apps, etc.)
I don't know if this is unusual, but at this point iTunes alerted me that there was another user account in my iTunes, and prompted me if I wanted to Replace or Merge the content on my iPhone. I don't know what caused this alert, because I have just one Apple ID in my iTunes and the same on my iPhone. In any case I chose Merge, just to be safe.
Then iTunes did another unexpected thing. It said sync'ing to this computer was not enabled for this iPhone, and prompted me do I want to enable sync. That's wrong because I regularly (every week or so) sync to iTunes on this computer. (I.e. I click the Sync button and I see iTunes go through the six sync'ing/backup steps.) Anyway I chose Yes to avoid any confusion.
    3. Wait for sync to complete.
    4. Open OS X Mail. In the left pane, in the REMINDERS section, in the Notes folder, iTunes had created a new "On My Mac" folder with all the notes from my iPhone, which had been sync'ed to iTunes.
    5. Move the notes from "On My Mac" to the "iCloud" folder. I was able to select all of them and drag them.
    6. Uncheck "Sync Notes" in iTunes. Click Sync.
    7. Enable iCloud sync on my iPhone. (Settings, iCloud, Notes ON.)
    8. Make iCloud the default place for new notes on my iPhone. (Settings, Notes, Default Account.)
I don't see any duplicate info on my iPhone: just one copy of email accounts, notes, etc. so I don't know what merging was performed by iTunes after I clicked "Merge" in response to the "different user account" alert.

  • Calendar does not sync from iPhone to iCloud

Calendar events that I create, update, or delete on my iPhone do not sync to iCloud, Mac, and iPad. I have deleted and added my calendar on my iPhone and reset my iPhone a few times but still calendar doesn't seem to sync to iCloud. Could you please help resolve this? Thanks.

yes, I have, I already tried to toggle icloud off and on again, did not work

  • ICloud Photo Library (Beta) not syncing from iPhone

I have iCloud Photo Library (Beta) activated on my iPhone 6 and iPad Air. On my iMac I log in to iCloud to see my photos.
Until some days ago, everything went smooth and every photo I took was uploaded and mirrored to all other devices. All modifications as well.
However, since a week or so, I am experiencing issues: I took a number of photos on my iPhone, and first they were uploaded, because I can see them on iPad and iCloud. I then deleted and edited some of these photos on iPhone - but none of these modifications get reflected on other devices. Instead, the „old“ versions are synced, plus even those I’ve deleted from iPhone library. For days now on iPhone I read „uploading xx photos“. But nothings gets uploaded.
(Even when I sync with iPhoto on Mac, none of these modifications are reflected there, either.)
I have shut down and restarted the device several times, to no avail.
    What’s going wrong here?

Ok, so here's a solution to this issue:
Backed up my iPhone on iTunes
Did a factory reset on iPhone
Restored the thing from previous backup
Re-entered all my passwords and such
    Now it's syncing again.
The whole procedure took me about two hours.
No idea why this happened. Beta, I guess.

  • Calender not sync from iphone to ipad

Hi my calender is not sync with my iphone anybody can help

hi randers4 .... this might be the solution. Question, what do you mean by "if you have any contacts or calendar events on your iPhone or iPad that are not on icloud.com, add them there." Where is "there" and how do I get to "there".
Now,... I do have contacts and calendar that are on the iPhone but was not signed on to the cloud.  Do have an ID and PW. So I logged onto the cloud .....that turn on the cloud on the iPhone and did a backup. Is that what you mean when you say add "them there" on the iphone?

  • Some Voice Memos do not sync from iPhone to Mac?

I recorded a number of meetings to my iPhone using the Voice Memo app. When I sync with my Mac, most of these transfer to iTunes, but a handful don't, for no reason I can see. I did not record them any differently from the ones that made it across. I tried emailing the missing memos to myself from within Voice Memo, but the email silently failed, perhaps because the files are too large (almost an hour).
I've seen other similar threads on the web - the suggestion to uncheck and re-check the "Include Voice Memos" box did not help.
    Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks.
(My suggestion for Apple is that iTunes and Voice Memo need a big usability upgrade.)

In the music part of your iphone in itunes, uncheck the box for syncing voice memos. Then apply changes. Check that it is all gone on your iphone. Go back to itunes and check the box for voice memos and sync. Itunes would copy the voice memos back to your iphone in the process.
that worked for me. +Don't forget to update to ios 6 latest, as apple fixed (at least improved) the bug causing wrongly sync music/voice memos not appearing.

  • What do I do about contacts and groups not synced from iPhone to iCloud?

I've been syncing my contacts with my Mac (Snow Leopard, not Lion) via iTunes for years now. It's worked well enough, but I don't sync with my Mac that often (typically weeks between syncs), so I've worried a little bit about losing data entered on my iPhone before it gets on my Mac.
Before: Mac <-iTunes contacts sync-> iPhone
A week or so ago I backed up contacts, calendars and my whole iPhone (and my Mac) then upgraded my iPhone to iOS 5. It took a while (hours) but seemed to work.
Then I set up iCloud contact syncing.
    What I intended: Mac <-iTunes contacts sync-> iPhone <-iCloud contacts sync-> iCloud
After setting up iCloud contact sync, the trouble began.
I looked at my iPhone contacts and saw that instead of the half dozen groups they were organized into before, they were all in one iCloud group. I found I could make new groups and assign contacts to them on iCloud and they'd sync, but I'm not interested in redoing work organizing hundreds of contacts that iOS and iCloud lost for me.
Shortly I discovered that some contacts were just missing. Poof. Gone after the iCloud sync.
I've hesitated before syncing with my Mac again. I don't want to have the messed up groups and the deleted contacts propogate back to my Mac.
I've also hesitated because I don't see a way to disable iTunes contact syncing before actually plugging in my iPhone — the options for managing what gets synced only seem to appear when the iPhone is connected, and sync starts automatically.
    Suggestions for how to proceed?
    Thanks!

I found out how to disable automatic syncing:
In the device’s Summary pane, you can set iTunes to automatically sync your device when it’s attached to your computer. To temporarily override this setting, hold down Command and Option (Mac) or Shift and Control (PC) until you see your iPhone appear in the sidebar.
I'm still looking for suggestions about how to proceed to get contacts with groups synced.
    Thanks again!

  • Reminders will not sync from iphone 4s to iPad 2 .. ???

EVerything else in iCloud seems to work, but I don't see reminders on my iMac, or on the non-originating device. I have an iMac, iPad 2 and iphone 4s ... Please help!!!

None of that worked ... I'm having the issue that some others are having that have to do with the "+" not showing up in the iPhone reminders app. If I shut reminders to off in icloud preferences, then I get it ... Then if I hit on, it says "merging with icloud," but the reminders do not show up on the ipad or on the icloud calendar.
if I do post on the ipad reminders app, however, those DO show up on icloud, but not the iphone ... ???

  • Am unable to transfer/sync my "Notes" data from iPhone 6 to my MacAir and MacMini PC. Just doesn't work. Please advise.

There may be other ways, but the best way I've found is:
Set up an iCloud email account so that you can use the Notes part of this service.  Note that I said "iCloud email" not "iCloud" ... you need to enable the email service of iCloud in order to get the iCloud Notes feature.  Otherwise, the "Notes" app on your device will only store notes on your device, or maybe sync them with some other email account (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo ... but does so poorly IMO).
On your Macs, set up the same iCloud account as on your iPhone.  Now that you've set up the email part of iCloud, you can enable the Notes feature of iCloud on your Macs.
Be sure to set iCloud as the default account to store your notes, in case you have other email services with a Notes feature.
New notes that you create on any device will sync to each other.
Notes that you created before doing all this cannot sync to your Macs, since the notes were not in iCloud.  Just turning on iCloud Notes does not cause them to enter iCloud and sync -- you'd have to copy and paste them into a new note, after ensuring that iCloud is the default account for any new notes.

  • Audio books will not sync from itunes to iphone

I have four audio books on ITunes that at one time were synced to Iphone.  Now they are not on the phone and I can not sync from Itunes, even though they are in Itunes as a purchase.  I have gone to book and audiobooks and checked sync all on both.
    thanks.

Thank you very much, that worked.  I learned something as I never tryied to right click on my phone in Itunes before.
    Thanks again.
