Unable to find wireless HP5510 printer

I have had a HP5510 Photosmart printer for over 6 months.  Until last week it was working well and used as a wireless printer from my iMac.  For some reason the wireless connection to my iMac stopped working.  I unistalled the driver, downloaded the latest version from the HP website and started to run the installation.  All went well until the set up screen asks me to disconnect the USB cable from the printer.  At this point an error message advises me that it can't find the HP5510 printer.
I checked that the printer is correctly connected to my router (both from the touch screen of the printer and from the router control panel).
I have unistalled and reinstalled the HP driver several times but I always experience the same problem.  I also noticed that the HP5510 printer wasn't listed on the list of wireless networks when I click the wi-fi icon on my iMac.
Any help or hint to resolve this problem would be very welcome.
Thank you
P.S. The printer works well when connected with a USB cable

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

  • Unable to find Adobe PDF Printer

I am trying to convert a Word document into a PDF by right-clicking on a Word document and telling it to Convert to Adobe PDF. I keep getting the error message "Unable to find "Adobe PDF" printer or "Acrobat Distiller" printer. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?" I try to run the repair mode and it'll run the repair mode, but nothing changes. Also, I used to have an Adobe tab in my Microsoft Word program but that is gone. All of these problems started when I got a new computer that is running Windows 7. Any idea on how to fix this? Right now I'm having to use PDF Complete, but I'd rather use my Adobe!

No, but you might have to do some work to get AA8 to work on your system. The first step is to update it, currently at 8.3.1 (you have 8.0.0 that may be your issue). AA8 is not certified for use on Win7, but several folks have been successful getting it to run. However, you might run into hickups at times even if it does run. In the meantime, try opening the document in WORD and printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If that works, you at least have a production method.
The next step is to figure out why PDF Maker is not working. For this, open the document in WORD and see if the Adobe menu appears. In WORD 2007 it will likely be the right most menu item named Acrobat (that is on my WORD 2007 system with AA8, though this is a VISTA machine). If that menu does not appear, then the Adobe macro in WORD needs to be enabled.
If the printer is not running, then further work is needed. Let us know what the current status is and then we can go from there.

  • Unable to Connect Wirelessly to Printer

    Hi all.
Since I had my BT Infinity installed I am unable to connect to my printer Wirelessly like I had previous. I have an Epson SX600FW Inkjet All-in-One Printer. I have the BT Homehub 2.0. How do you configure this hub/router for the Wireless Printer? I cannot see any way of doing this?
Out of desperation, I have even tried to attach my old Router to the Homehub (even replace the BT Hub with it) but got nothing at all. Not even internet connection!
    Can anyone help?

Infinity installed yesterday. Works perfectly both with laptop and Wi Fi Blue Ray DVD but will not work with printer which is an Epson Stylus SX425W. I have set up printer ok to run on Wi Fi but it will not print and I keep getting error messages. Spoken to Epson who have been thro the set up, confirmed that all is ok and asked me to print a status check. This says that network is working correctly but "A router/access point channel conflict has been detected". According to Epson, the solution is for the BT Hub to be configured so that it allows any Epson product through it's firewalls, and for MAC address filtering to be turned off. This is out of my league - is there anyone out there who recognises this issue and can help?
    Hi rdec1945
I dont use that printer but the epson PX710W.
Have you used the printers on screen menu.
    Setup
    OK
    Network Settings
    OK
Wireless setup wizard  or even Advanced setup and then WPS Wireless LAN setup, where you use the WPS button on the side of the HH3.
Setting up mine did not involve opening any thing in the firewall or doing anything with MAC address filtering.
[edit] have a look at this post from geaves, again not the same printer but suggests setting it up with ethernet first, I think its post 6.

  • Unable to find wireless network on Photosmart C4780 on MacBook Pro running OS X 10.10.3

I have been successfully using a Photosmart C4780 on my wireless network for a long time.  I had internet issues and the network name was changed.   Now I can't print wirelessly.  Tried reinstalling the software, but the program quits just before set-up.
    Help!!

    Hey there @physiocan!
Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
I should be able to provide some suggestions that may get your Photosmart C4780 reconnected to your wireless network.  Due to the age of the printer there is no full feature software and driver developed for Mac 10.10.  Your printer requires the HP full feature software to setup the wireless through the USB cable.  Once the Wi-Fi is setup then the USB cable can be removed.  To reconfigure your printer to the new network name you will require a computer running the Windows operating system or a Mac with version 10.7 or lower.
Please post back and let me know!  You will only require another computer for the Wi-Fi setup.  Once the wireless is setup then you should be able to add it to your Mac 10.10 using the Apple Airprint drivers built into the Mac operating system.
Thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!

  • AirPort Utility was unable to find wireless devices

    Hi,
I have a fresh install of Vista (32) with all current updates.  I'm running AirPort Utility 5.5.3, a TimeCapsule and Airport Express.  With my MacBook I am able to use the Utility and see the TC and APE and in iTunes see my remote speakers.  But running the Utility in Windows, I can't see any of the devices even though I am running wireless or wired internet connections with no problem.  I can see the devices in the Utility if I plug in their IP addresses.  Given they aren't showing up in the Utility, I think that's why I can't see the remote speakers or the printer on TC.
I've searched all over the place for a solution.  I'd appreciate any feedback.
    Thanks!
    David

If it helps anyone, I had the same trouble yesterday after an automatic update of the firmware for my airport extreme on my Mac Pro desktop. I brought in my laptop and spent several hours re-setting the modem and router, scanning through these discussion pages for answers, and tried every reset imaginable, soft and hard and everything in between, and nothing would help the airport device to show up in airport utility on either computer.
I finally gave up last night and unplugged the modem and router. This morning I decided to get back into the fight and plugged in the modem, then plugged in the router and turned on the laptop. I went into Airport Utility and, God only knows why, but there was my airport extreme listed as an Apple Base Station on the left side of the window, just as I had been trying to get it to do all day yesterday. I followed the instructions to set it up and created the new network and everything is back to normal again.
    Go figure.

  • Pavilion s-1217 can not find wireless Canon printer

I have an HP printer but I can not afford to feed it, due to the tri-color cartilages.
I bought a Canon wireless printer and my 2 other HP computers can see it and use it. My Pavilion s-1217 can not see it.
My printer has been checked by Canon and my Router has been checked and upgraded by Belkin. Both are working fine.
I have called HP several times about this computer. The last time, the tech downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor but it also can not see this printer.
Canon suggested that this computer may not be able to use IPv4.

I have called HP several times about this computer. The last time, your tech downloaded the HP Print and Scan Doctor software but it can not see this printer.
Canon suggested that the computer may not be able to use IPv4.
AWS: “I think maybe the tech meant it can't use IPV6 as IPV4 is the standard. If your computer couldn't use IPV4 then you wouldn't be able to use the internet at all “
No, the Canon tech stated that this printer uses IPv4. The IPv4 address, according to the print out of the printer's Network Configuration Page is 192.168.2.4. No IPv6 address is listed. The Belkin tech stated that IPv4 is "almost obsolete" and the firmware upgrade he installed had an update to the IPv6 capabilities but no change in IPv4. All three devices are under warrantee and the both the Canon tech and several HP techs have taken remote control of this computer and installed the latest Canon drivers from the Canon website. HP says it is a software problem and that there is nothing wrong with the computer so they will not allow it to be returned. Belkin (one HP tech blamed the Belkin N750 router) and Canon techs say their equipment is working properly and, indeed it does from the two other HP computers we have.
Cindy E:  To reset IPv4 “Select Control Panel > Select Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings.
“Right-click on the Ethernet connection you want to modify > Select Properties > Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > These are your IP address settings. When you are finished, select OK and in the last window click OK again.”
That did it the printer is working fine now

  • Unable to find adobe pdf printer or acrobat distilelr printer

this message appears when i try to convert a word file to a pdf file. its was working for years and now i keep getting this message,
    please help dan

Ok, then yesterday, something or someone deleted the Adobe PDF printer. This is alarming, especially if you don't remember doing it, but may be easy to fix.
You may be unaware that the printer driver called "Adobe PDF" is vital, and nothing to do with printing. When you choose this printer and "print" to it, it makes a PDF. This works with all Windows apps that can print, and is the normal way to make a PDF.
When you use Acrobat's special add-on for making PDFs from Word, it uses Adobe PDF behind the scenes, so there is no getting away from it.
My suggestion to try first is a REPAIR of Adobe Acrobat. Start Acrobat and look for REPAIR in the HELP menu. (Reboot may be needed).  If the repair is a success, it will put back the Adobe PDF printer, and conversion will work again.

That is a clue that the connection is NOT correct.
Did you set the IP address for the printer as automatic (dynamic) or manual (static)? If the former, i.e., automatic, then the IP address may have changed via Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) from when you originally setup the printer for wireless. Print a Network Configuration page to find the current IP address of the printer. Then check that current IP address matches in the wireless setup of the printer.

  • Deskjet 3512 connected to wireless network but utility says 'Unable to find printer'

    1. Product Name and Number
         • HP Deskjet 3512
     2. Operating System installed (if applicable)
         • Windows 7 64-bit
     3. Error message (if any)
         Unable to find printer.
        Facts:
    - Printer is connected to network. Panel LED is unblinking blue and the status indicates the correct SSID for my network. Also the router config page indicates that the printer is connected with a correct IP (192.168.1.XX).
    - Wireless Network Test Results diagnostics of the printer states that all PASSED, except that the Internet says 'Not connected'.
    - Tried to ping the IP that the printer panel says, but cmd says: Destination Host Unreachable. Tried arp -a after that but it does not show the IP & MAC address of the printer.
    - Turned off: Windows firewall, router firewall (Telus Actiontec V1000H) and disabled MAC Address Control and uninstalled Avast AV and reboot.
    - Cannot access printer Embedded Web Server.
    - Tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor and it didnt find the printer. And when it did find it, it was by using the USB cable. After selecting the fixes, it came to 'Unable to Find Printer again'.
     4. Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred
         • No changes. Bought the printer and I'm having this issue.
    PLEASE HELP!

To start out sounds like this is a driver issue. I want to start with being sure that the removal of the software and reinstallation happened in the best possible fashion. I want you to follow my steps so I can be sure that we are both starting on the same page.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it (this is important). Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
find and install the FULL FEATURE SOFTWARE if it is available :
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=5241114
Install that and let me know the result!
    Have a great day!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless: HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.

Installing new printer,  getting error msg saying HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.   MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router which can prevent HP printer from connecting to your wireless network during setup.
SOLUTION says:  If MAC address filtering is enabled and you would like to keep it enabled, you must add the MAC addressof your printer to the list of permitted devices for your wireless router before continuing.
My router is WD My Net N900 Router. MAC filtering is diabled. My security mode is WPA/WPA2 Personal.
I have run out of ideas to try and fix the issues, would appreciate some help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jamshidk
I am surprised you are getting that message and you checked the router settings and it is showing that the Mac Filtering is disabled.
I would suggest connecting the printer to the router with a ethernet cable to get a valid IP address and then setup the wireless.
    Print a configuration report.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01554589&lc=en&product=3760410&tmp...
Type the IP address from the configuration page  in the address bar into internet explorer browser. This will open the embedded web server for the printer. Click on the Networking tab, on the left hand side select wireless. After this is setup and applied, disconnect the ethernet cable.
Should be on the wireless network. Takes about 1 minute.
    Run the add printer wizard.
Go to start, devices and printers and select add a printer. (Win 7)
    Test the printer.

  • HP ENVY 4501 e-All-in-One: Unable to Find Printer

I just recently got a HP ENVY 4501 e-All-in-One.  The printer is connected wirelessly to my router but after I installed the software, it was unable to find the printer.  I have tried it on 3 different computers.  2 with Windows 7 and the other with Windows Vista.  How can I get the computers to find the printer? Also, can a  Linux system also use the printer?
    Thanks.

    Hi blanchard10,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some installation issues.
Just so you are aware, no Linux driver is available for this printer at this time.
I do have a few steps that we can try in the attempt to install the printer on to your Windows 7 and Vista computers.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Seeing that you are attempting to install the printer with a wireless connection, we do need to have the software and drivers installed on to each computer.
Here is the HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers.
Please make sure that you do NOT have any firewalls or anti virus protection running while doing the installation.
Save the download to the Desktop of the computers so that it creates its own icon.  This will make it easy to find the download when it is completed on each computer.  Double click the new icon and follow the installation instructions.  The installation will give you connection options.  Select wireless.
On the front panel of the printer, we will need to go through the Wireless Setup Wizard.  To get to the Wizard we will need to be on the main display of the printer and touch the Wireless icon on the top of the printer window.  Select Settings and then select the Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the instructions to connect to the network.  You will need the IP address once the printer is connected to add to each computer when prompted to do so.
Please write me back if you are still having issues or if you have any other questions.
    Cheers,
